Mike J. Olinger, 65, of Hector, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Nov. 27, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 8 p.m. at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Memorials preferred to lieu of flowers.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Olinger of Hector; children, Brian Olinger of Hector, Lynette Olinger Dahl of Chisago City, and Donald Olinger of Hector; seven grandchildren; brothers, William Olinger of Hector, and Patrick Olinger of Hector; and sister Mildred Winter of Mounds View.
He was born April 17, 1939, in Hector, Minn., to Hubert (Batis) and Mildred Ann (Maxwell) Olinger.

John M. Aufderheide, 79, of Cross Lake and formerly of Gibbon died Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Memorial service will be 2 PM Saturday, November 27, 2004 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon with Pastor Richard J. Kuckhahn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service at church on Saturday. The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon is in charge of the arrangements.
John is survived by his wife, Carolyn Aufderheide of Cross Lake; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and James Budahn of Lakewood, Colorado; sons and daughter-in-law, Eric Aufderheide of Edina, John W. and Brenda Aufderheide of rural New Ulm, Marc Aufderheide of Maple Grove; eight grandchildren; five great grandsons; sisters and brother-in-law, Isabel Aufderheide of Edina, Jean and Roscoe Stark of Tullahoma, Tennessee; a brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Marlese Aufderheide of Carver; twelve nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Mavis Packer and her husband Al of Santa Anna, California; a brother-in-law, John Weller and his wife Marlene of Gibbon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Florence Aufderheide; and a sister, Wilma Aufderheide.
John MacDougall Aufderheide was born March 30, 1925 in Lamberton to Gustav and Anna (MacDougall) Aufderheide. He attended school in Gibbon and was a graduate of Gibbon High School. He served in the United States Army during WWII from 1943 - 1946 in the South Pacific where he received the Legion of Merit Medal from the Philipine Government. He then attended and graduated from Gustavus Adolfus College in St. Peter with a degree in English and History.
John married Carolyn Weller on November 22, 1950 at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Moltke Township, Sibley County. After college John worked for the Dayton Company in Minneapolis for ten years. He then co-owned Heide Hardware Store in Gibbon with his brother and taught school at Gaylord High School for twenty three years until retiring in 1987. In later years, John enjoyed his family, walking in the woods, woodworking, golfing with friends and wintering in Arizona.
He was a member of the American Legion, Gibbon Volunteer Fire Department, Gibbon Lions Club, Gibbon City Council and was a Little League Baseball coach.

Helen Johnson, age 86 of Springfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Service of Remembrance will be Sat., Nov. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield with burial at St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call on the family on Sat., Nov. 27 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
Father Dennis Labat and Chaplain Mary Pauluk officiating.

Helen Florence Johnson was born July 6, 1918 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the daughter of Peter and Katherine (Kuelbs) Bertrand.
She was united in marriage to E.H. 'Stub' Johnson on September 30, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They moved to Springfield in 1948 where Helen worked at JC Penney's, Johnson's Federated, Kingery's, Gamble's, The Sewing Basket and Dave's Drive-In Liquor. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, St. Anne's Altar Society, CCW, St. John Lutheran Home Auxiliary and a Ladies Card Club. Helen enjoyed playing cards, watching the Twins, collecting squirrel figurines and will be fondly remembered as the "Queen of chocolate-chip cookies".
Survivors include sons- Lance Johnson of Edina, MN, Steven and wife Liz Johnson of Two Harbors, MN, and Bradley and wife Donna Johnson of Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren- Thomas and Janice Johnson of Farmington, MN, Scott and Denise Johnson of New Ulm, MN, and Kori and Darren Fluegge of Lafayette, MN; great-grandchildren- Dylan, Amber and Brody Johnson, and Tyson Fluegge; sister- Sally Fahrion of Springfield; and special friend- Hilde Callanan of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- E.H. 'Stub' in 1997; great-granddaughter- Samantha Johnson in 2001; brother- Francis Bertrand; and sister- Arlene Hoffman.

Alta M. Blue, 95, of Morgan, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004 at St. John's Nursing Home in Springfield.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at Morgan City Cemetery with burial in Morgan City Cemetery.
She has no survivors.
Arrangements are with Nelson-Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls.
She was born April 13, 1909 to Herman and Augusta (Kopischke) Freitag in MIlle Lacs County, Minnesota.

NEW ULM -- Debra Lee Christianson, 48, of 823 1/2 south 6th street in New Ulm died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at her home. Funeral
Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2004 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday.

Jerome A. Palmer, 76, of Fairfax, died on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 27, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. Interment will be in the church Cemetery with full military rites by the Fairfax Honor Guard.
Visitation will be Friday, 5-8 p.m., with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the Church. Arrangements are with the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax.
Jerome Albert Palmer was born Dec. 18, 1927 in Fairfax, Minnesota. He was the son of Albert and Anna (Sackel) Palmer.
Jerome entered the US Army in 1947. He served in the Korean War and received an honorable discharge in 1949.
Jerome is survived by his: wife, Arlys Palmer of Fairfax, brother, Stanley Palmer of Rochester,, sister, Eileen Thies of Grand Rapids.

James L. 'Jim' Niehoff, 78, of New Ulm died Thursday, November 25, 2004 at his home after a short battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father John Richter celebrating. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday and will continue from 7:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a rosary by the St. Patrick's Council #1026 Knights of Columbus at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. both Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm with full military rites being conducted by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Ron Meinhardt of Bloomington, Lynn and Lyle Austad of St. Joseph, and Patty and Chris Sampson of Vista, California; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Mary Niehoff of St. Cloud; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Lester Domeier, Elaine Roiger, and Margaret and Charles Forster all of New Ulm, Lorraine Christle and Mary Lou Pischke both of California and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Tricia Austad, and by a brother, Charles Niehoff.
Jim Niehoff, the son of Lawrence and Louise (Boor) Niehoff was born on September 25, 1926 in St. James.
He graduated from New Ulm Public High School in 1944. After high school graduation Jim enlisted in the United States Navy serving from 1944 to 1946, one of those years serving in Okinawa. After his honorable discharge Jim attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis and graduated in 1948. Jim worked for the City of New Ulm and retired as the New Ulm Street Commissioner in 1988 after a public service career that encompassed 31 years and 8 months. Jim was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, a member of the 3rd & 4th degree Knights of Columbus in New Ulm, and a member of the Seifert-Bianchi, American Legion Post #132 in New Ulm. Jim and his wife volunteered their time for 16 years delivering Meals on Wheels. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be given to the New Ulm Area Catholic Schools (NUACS) or the Rett Syndrome Association.

Zella E. Johnson, 91, of Nicollet died Friday, November 26, 2004 at the Betheny Home in Alexandria where she had been a resident for the past year.
Funeral service will be 11:00 Monday, November 29, 2004 at the Scandian Grove Lutheran Church in Norseland with Pastor Jerry Lanes officiating. Burial will be in the Scandian Grove Lutheran Cemetery in Norseland. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Monday.
Zella is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Betty Ann, Mervin and Lucretia Johnson all of Alexandria, and Larry and Patty Johnson of Rockford, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Marion Bachmeyer of Mankato; a brother, Edward Larson of Mankato. Zella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard on April 6, 1991; three sisters; and seven brothers.
Zella Eveline Larson was born on January 21, 1913 in Granby Township, Nicollet County to Oswald and Ester (Anderson) Larson. On June 28, 1936, she married Leonard J. Johnson. Zella worked at the Holiday House in St. Peter for thirty five years until her health no longer allowed her to work retiring at the age of seventy five. She resided in Nicollet after Leonard's death until 1999 when she moved to Bethel Manor Apartments in Alexandria. Zella entered the Betheny Home in 2003. She loved her flowers and her vegetable gardens, and showing them off to her family and friends. Zella also loved bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joane Burmeister, 60, of Stewart, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004 at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 30, at the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Fernando. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Stewart and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Joane Mavis Burmeister was born Jan. 3, 1944 in Glencoe, to Aaron and Minnie (Woller) Rathke.
Joane is survived by her husband Jim Burmeister, of Stewart, and by her children: Jerome Burmeister of Hutchinson, Julie Kirchoff of Hutchinson, Joel Burmeister of Buffalo Lake, Jody Burmeister of Stewart, 11 grandchildren; and brothers. Orren Rathke of Winthrop and Armin Rathke of Brownton.

Richard Buss, 74 of 110 North Highland Ave, New Ulm, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at his home.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.

Bruce C. Mueller, 85, formerly of Chicago, died Nov. 25, 2004.
Born Feb. 23, 1919 to Alfred and Mary (Siegler) Mueller in New Ulm, MN. Graduated from
high school in New Ulm, completed his undergraduate studies at St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN, and graduated from DePaul University law school in 1947. Served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, and rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel with the U.S. Air Force. On May 22, 1954 he was married to Athalie Ann Van Vonderen in Coleman, Wis. Bruce was an attorney specializing in workers compensation in Chicago. He was admitted to the bar in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and the U.S. Supreme Court. He was an avid golfer and Bears fan. Survived by Athalie Ann Mueller; children Mark Mueller, William (Hayley Haberman) Mueller, Lisa (Steven Merchant) Mueller; grandchildren Dylan, Eli, Maya; sister Helen Jane LaBine. Preceded in death by son Todd Mueller; sisters Mary Ehlke, Mildred Mueller.
Funeral Services are Sunday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. at the English Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, Wis. Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery on Monday. Memorials to: Martin Luther College Scholarship Fund, Presidents office, 1995 Luther Court, New Ulm MN 56073.

David Ouren, 60, of Hanska, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia, due to complications of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska. Burial with full military honors conducted by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm and one hour prior to service at the church.
David Gary Ouren, the son of Milton and Irene (Erdmann) Ouren, was born April 28, 1944 in New Ulm. After graduating from Hanska High School in 1962, he attended Mankato State College until 1964. David entered the United States Air Force in 1965, serving in Thailand during the Vietnam era. Following his honorable discharge in 1969, David returned to the area and began work with 3M Company in New Ulm. He was united in marriage to Michelle R. Deutchman August 19, 1972 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato. They made their home in Hanska. David held various responsibilities with 3M retiring with 30 years of service as a master electrician, due to complications of his disease. David was an avid fan of baseball and basketball. He was a past board member of the Hanska Baseball Association, coach of Little League Baseball, and player of the game in his youth and adult life. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Hanska. He loved water sports, camping, golfing, bowling and card playing with family and friends, of just watching the sun set at the lake.
Survivors include his wife Michelle (Micki) of Hanska; sons, Ty David Ouren (US Navy), Oak Harbor, WA, Trae Alan Ouren and wife Lori (US Navy), St. Mary's, Ga.; daughters, Emily Katrin Borum and husband Andrew of Carver, Laura Anne Ouren of Hanska; grandsons, Matthew Ty Ouren, Benjamin Anthony and Maxwell Fredric Borum; granddaughters, Britney Michelle and Brooklyn Macinzie Ouren; brother, Eugene Ouren and his wife Deloris of Redwood Falls; sisters, Dorothy Strom and her husband Harley of Robinsdale, Beverly Hutton and her husband Terry of Gettysburg, Pa., Dianna Steinmetz and her husband Larry of New Ulm; mother-in-law, Marcella Cesar of Mapleton; brothers-in-law, Boyd Kramer of Eagles Bend, Ore., Bruce Kramer and his wife Carol of Nicollet, Rory Deutchman and his wife Jan of Lake Crystal, Mark Deutchman of Mapleton; sisters-in-law, Delilia Langworthy and her husband Bernard of Mapleton, Rhonda McVay and her husband Jim of Nowata Oklahoma; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister in infancy.

Carl Thomas Robinson, 4, of rural Franklin, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004 at the Redwood Area Hospital after over a two-year battle with neuroblastoma cancer.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Franklin, with burial in St. Patrick's Birch Cooley Cemetery, rural Franklin.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Franklin, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to time of service. Arrangements are by Nelson Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls.
Carl is survived by his parents, Tom and Kelly Robinson, rural Franklin; a brother Bryan Creamer of St. Paul; a sister Sydney Bladon, at home, and a brother: Sam Robinson, at home; paternal grandparents: George and Phyllis Robinson, Morton, and maternal grandparents: Bill and Dorothy Greer of Redwood Falls.
He was born Dec. 28, 1999, in Redwood Falls to Tom and Kelly (Greer) Robinson.

Eleonora Graff, 97, of Springfield, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Arrangements are pending with Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
