Ilah Roebke, 89, of Hector, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Swedlanda Lutheran Church, rural Hector, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and one hour prior to the services at the church.
She was born March 20, 1915, in Bandon Township, Renville County to Ingvold and Selmina (Samingson) Weikle.
She is survived by her children, Judy Lund of Roseau, Mike Roebke of Gilbert, Ariz., and Jim Roebke of Hector; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers: Kenny Weikle of Fairfax and Ray Weikle of Fairfax; and sisters, Margaret Bleck of Fairfax, Gail Hatley of Seattle, Wash., and Flo Lee of Los Altos, Calif.

Luella Steve, 85,of Sanborn, died on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 at Springfield Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Sanborn.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Sanborn, with burial in the Sanborn City Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
She was born Nov. 24, 1918, to William and Abigail (Lackie) Wog.
She is survived by her sons, Scott of Worthington and Craig of Dickinson, N.D.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Meyer of Springfield.

Duffy R. Trotter, 43, of Franklin, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 at Redwood Area Hospital.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Franklin with burial in Doncastor Cemetery, rural Granite Falls.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls and Monday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy of Franklin; children Justin, KyLee and Christopher; children of a previous marriage, Paula Kribel of Landover, Md.; April of Mitchell, S.D. and Dave of Dover, Del.; parents Ray and Pearl of Granite Falls; a sister, Becky Moorse of Marshall; a brother, Donnie of Granite Falls; a grandmother, Millie Kruckman of Granite Falls.
He was born June 13, 1961 in Shakopee to Ray and Pearl (Svenby) Trotter.

Wallace 'Whitey' Wolf, 78, of 712 South Minnesota Street in New Ulm died Friday, October 8, 2004 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Father Douglas Grams will celebrate the mass.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 PM Monday and 9:30 - 10:30 AM Tuesday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
Whitey is survived by his wife, Delores Wolf of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Beth Wolf of New Ulm, Steven and Jill Wolf of Stewartville, Ronald and Susan Wolf of Plymouth; grandchildren, Kendall, Natalie and Taylor; step-grandchildren, Jonathan and Patrick; a sister, Maralyn Liebsch of St. Paul; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Marie Wolf, Raymond and Artis Wolf, all of New Ulm, John and Dolores Wolf of Prescott, Arizona, James and Kathie Wolf of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marjorie Wolf; and by brothers, Roland Wolf and Donald Wolf.
Wallace Albert Wolf was born December 2, 1925 in New Ulm to Louis and Hertha (Macho) Wolf. He married Delores Hacker on June 19, 1954 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan. Whitey worked as a mechanic at Auto Electric, Clauss Motors, Knopke Motors and the New Ulm Street Department for 29 years until retiring on December 31, 1985. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. Whitey served thirty years with the Hook and Ladder Company of the New Ulm Fire Department and retired as 2nd Assistant Chief in March, 1978.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the donors choice.

James Traurig, 73, of Plymouth, formerly of New Ulm and St. George, died Saturday, October 9, 2004 at the Mission Care Nursing Home in Plymouth.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the St. George Catholic Cemetery, St. George.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and will continue from 7:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be rosary by the St. Joseph Catholic Aid Council at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. both Monday at the funeral home.
James is survived by sisters and a brother-in-law, Arlene and Bud Gerardy of Fairfax and Marion Petterson of Lake Crystal; and by three nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, LaVern Petterson.
James Arnold Traurig, the son of Joseph and Laura (Berdan) Traurig was born on May 2, 1931 in New Ulm. He attended school in Lafayette and later in St. George. James had worked on the family farm until 1954 when he moved into New Ulm. There he first worked for Retzlaff Motors and then worked for the City of New Ulm in the park department.

Willard 'Bill' Hubert, 75, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at his home in Babbitt, Minn.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton with burial in the Lamberton Cemetery.
Visitation starts at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Military honors will be provided by Andrew Peterson American Legion Post 41 of Lamberton.
There will be memorial service at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, in Babbitt.
Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Lawrence Hubert of Lamberton, Norma Miller of Hemet, Calif., Marjorie Nickel of Sanborn, Carol and husband Darrell Werner of Lake George, Janice Gertner of Walnut Grove, Dennis Hubert of Anoka, and Fredrick Hubert of Redwood Falls.
Willard 'Bill' Earl Hubert was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, to Emil and Nona (Moody) Hubert.

Gertie A. Nelson, 96, of Mankato, formerly of the Hanska area, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at the Oak Lawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, at Albion Lutheran Church, rural St. James with Rev. Robert Olson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Schmucker Funeral Service in Hanska and one hour prior to service at the church.
Gertie Amelia Brudeli, the daughter of Anton and Gena (Asleson) Brudeli, was born Aug. 23, 1908, in Hanska. Following her graduation from New Ulm High School, Gertie attended and graduated from Mankato Teacher's College. She taught country school in the New Ulm and Hanska areas for several years. Gertie was united in marriage to Arnold Nelson in June, 1939 at her family's home farm. Together, she and her husband farmed near Godahl. After her husband's death in 1967, she continued to make her home on the family farm until moving to Mankato in 1994. She became a resident of Oak Lawn Health Care Center in 1998. She was a member of Albion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her son, Keith Nelson of North Mankato; son-in-law, Irvin Milbrandt of Elmore; three grandchildren, Sara Anderson and her husband Bruce of Hutchinson, Tracci and Ryan Nelson of North Mankato; two great-grandchildren, Cody and Emily Anderson; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gertie was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherrene Milbrandt; one brother, Arlo Brudeli; two sisters, Esther Solberg and Ruth Ouren; and another infant sibling.

Bernice R. Mutch-Wittrock, 79, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of North Mankato, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at the Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato, with Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before services at church on Thursday.
Bernice was born July 16, 1925, in Sleepy Eye, MN to John H. and Theckla M. (Ruffing) Kotten. She graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Harold Mutch on Jan. 15, 1948 in Sleepy Eye. Bernice and Harold raised seven children and farmed in Belgrade Township, until 1969. In 1970 they purchased Mutch Northside Hardware Store, where she was bookkeeper and co-owner with her husband. She and her husband retired in 1980. Harold died on October 20, 1986. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Wittrock on Jan. 29, 1993, in North Mankato. He died July15, 2004 in Mesa. She was a member All Saints Catholic Church, Mesa, and a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato. She was a former member of the Holy Rosary C.C.W. and a former grade school catechism teacher.
She enjoyed card playing, walking, sewing, remembering birthdays and anniversaries, and spending time with family and friends.
Bernice is survived by five children, Suzan M. (Jon) Aronson of Georgetown, Texas, David L. (Sandy) Mutch of North Mankato, Lynda E. Mutch and husband, Bob Garaghty of Leesburg, FL, Nancy K. (Dr. Paul) Huepenbecker of Verona, Wis., Jennet E. (Rev. Kevin) Kosberg of Anthem, Ariz; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola (Art) Watkins of Comfrey, Marie Jones of Owatonna; two brothers, Ivan Kotten of Sleepy Eye, Sylvester (Mary Ann) Kotten of Sleepy Eye; three stepchildren, Rick (Stacy) Wittrock, Patty (Robert) Mollenhauer, Mary (David) Wiebusch; five stepgrandchildren; nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold, second husband, Lawrence; and two children, Glenn and Patricia in 1971.

Henry W. Weiss, 94, of Springfield, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13, at St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield, with burial in St. Matthew Cemetery, Waterbury Township, Redwood County.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-9 a.m. Wednesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Erna; a son, Gary of Lamberton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frieda Wilaby of Brookings, S.D.
Henry W. A. Weiss was born Dec. 31, 1909,to Carl and Emma (Rosenau) Weiss in Estilline, S.D.

William 'Woody' Ahrens, 77, of Franklin and formerly of Redwood Falls, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 15, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls, with burial in the church Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before services Friday at the church.
He is survived by wife, Celestine "Sally" Ahrens of Windom; daughter, Sherri Zimmerman of Windom; five grandchildren; sister, Loretta Emerson of Kasota; and brother Floyd "Hop" Ahrens of Gibbon.
He was born April 28, 1927, in Redwood County, to William and Lena (Schmidt) Ahrens.

George S. Hansen, 100, of Mountain Lake, Minn., formerly of Comfrey, Darfur and Mankato, died on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake.
Service will be held at Alliance Missionary Church in Mountain Lake on Friday, Oct. 15, at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Pastor Byron Emmert and Pastor Dennis Siebert. Interment will be in Congregational Cemetery in rural Comfrey
Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m., Friday at the church.
Arrangements are handled by with Bjerum Funeral Home in Mountain Lake.
George S. Hansen was born Dec. 17, 1903, at Menagha, Minn., to James and Anna (Christensen) Hansen. At a very early age the family moved to a farm north of Mountain Lake where he spent his growing up years. He graduated from the Comfrey Public School in 1922 and then attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis. He worked in a bank for eight years and then returned to the Mountain Lake area to farm. In 1935 he married Edna Grundmeier and together raised Edna's daughter Shirley Grundmeier Janzen. Edna passed away in August 1941 after a lengthy illness from a brain tumor. On Sept. 6, 1952, he married Shirley Banks. In 1956 they moved to Darfur, Minn., where they purchased an insurance and accounting business. They lived there for 38 years. George was active in the Comfrey Congregational Church. He was treasurer of the Darfur Fire Department for many years, Village Assessor, Selma Township Assessor, clerk of the Darfur School and member of the Commercial Club. In 1984 he joined the Alliance Missionary Church in Mountain Lake. In 1990 he retired and began spending winters with his wife in Apache Junction, Ariz. They moved from Darfur to Mankato in 1994 and in July 2002 moved to Mountain Lake. George entered the Good Samaritan Village in June 2003. He was a a very loving and happy person, always praising God for his salvation, his good health, and his family and friends. He had many happy memories of his favorite pastime, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley Hansen of Mountain Lake; daughter Jane Hansen of Mason City, Iowa; son Jon and his wife Janet Hansen of Sleepy Eye, Minn.; son-in-law Wayne Koenig of Mankato, Minn.; stepdaughter Shirley Janzen of Mountain Lake, Minn.; five grandchildren, Jon G. Hansen II, Jackie and her husband Rob Funke, Jennifer and her husband Chad Sadler, Libby Koenig, and Jeff Koenig; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hannah Sadler; three stepgrandchildren Donna Lindstrom,Paul Janzen, Jean and her husband Jerry Haberman; one sister-in-law, Ann Hansen of Mountain Lake, ; one brother-in-law, Norman Small of Mountain Lake; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Edna; daughter, Kathy Koenig; four brothers, Alfred, Harry, Roy and Elmer; and four sisters, Emma Seavert, Clara Hansen, Alice Hansen, and Lillian Small.

Agatha M. Riemann, 84, died at her home on Sept. 14, 2004 in New Ulm.
Agatha lived in Marshall and later moved to New Ulm, where she worked for many years at Martin Luther College. As a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Agatha devotedly visited members who were unable to attend services and shared recorded sermons. She also helped many friends who needed assistance with transportation.
Memorial services for Agatha M. Riemann will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 15, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran at Island Lake Township near Russell, MN. Internment took place on Sept. 16, 2004 at the church's cemetery.
