Shirley Hosto, 73, of Sleepy Eye, formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21 at First United Methodist Church in New Ulm with Rev. Dean Nosek officiating. Burial will follow in the Soldiers Rest section of the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 ­ 8 p.m. Monday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm and one hour prior to service at the church.
Shirley Ione Gluth, the daughter of Edwin and Lydia (Lippmann) Gluth was born Sept. 17, 1931 in New Ulm. After graduating from New Ulm High School in 1949, she worked at Eibner's Restaurant for ten years. Shirley was united in marriage to Frederick "Freddie" Hosto on May 10, 1958 at the First United Methodist Church in New Ulm. Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Frederick "Freddie" of rural New Ulm; daughters, Sheryl Tasky and her husband John of Brooklyn Par, Susan Wolf and her husband Ronald of Plymouth, Shelley Schugel and her husband Daniel of New Ulm; seven grandchildren, Amy and Kelly Tasky, Kendall and Natalie Wolf, Scott, Danielle and Stacey Schugel; brothers, Willard Gluth and his wife Katherine, Dale Gluth and his wife Alice, all of New Ulm, Warren Gluth and his wife Ruthie of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Marlys Lambrecht and her husband Arthur, Lois Fromm and her husband Herb, Laverna Schultz and her husband Delmar, all of New Ulm, Delores Grams of Scappoose, OR, Elaine Bergein and her husband Milan of Bloomington; sister-in-law, Delaine Gluth of New Ulm; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother Donald, and two nephews, Steve and Rance Gluth.
Memorials are preferred.

Hilmar Leske, 86, of Winthrop, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop. Interment will be in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the time of services at the church on Wednesday
Hilmar Edward Leske was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Winthrop to Fred and Elsie (Hantge) Leske.
Hilmar is survived by his wife, Delores Leske of Winthrop; son, Duane Leske of Plymouth; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother, Delford Leske of Winthrop.

Delores A. Sellner, 62, of Sleepy Eye, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Survivors include her children, Deborah Booze of Bingham Lake, Chandra Krenz of Sleepy Eye, Douglas of St. Peter, and Stacy Walter of Granite Falls; 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brothers, Donof Waseca, Dick of Glencoe, Loren of Glencoe, Steve of Pensacola, Fla., Roman of Sleepy Eye and Marvin of Waseca, and a sister, Marlene Balk of Waseca.
Delores Anne Elizabeth was born on March 22, 1942 in Springfield, the daughter of Leo John and Fern Opal (Smith) Landkammer.

Helen L. Fiemeyer, 82, formerly of New Ulm and Courtland, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Father Edward Ardolf will celebrate.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of mass at church on Thursday.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm handling the arrangements.
Helen is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Lyle Zupan of Madison; a son, Allan "Butch" Fiemeyer of Courtland; grandsons, Brian Zupan and his wife Sharilyn of Royse City, Texas, Brent Zupan and his wife Sharla of Madison, Bruce Zupan and his wife Kim of Prior Lake; grandchildren, Timothy, Thomas, Tara, Taylor and Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orval Fiemeyer on April 7, 2002; sisters, Josephine Brown, Lydia Nonnenmacher; and by brothers, Armin Drexler and Frank Drexler.
Helen Loretta Drexler was born Aug. 20, 1922, in New Ulm to Frank and Margret (Zupher) Drexler.
She attended St. Mary's Grade School in New Ulm. Helen married Orval Fiemeyer on August 30, 1941, at the St. Mary's Rectory in New Ulm. After marriage they lived in Courtland where they owned and operated Fiemeyer Service Station for 43 years. They moved to Ridgeway on German in 1999 and then had been a resident of the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield since August of 2003. Helen was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm.

Harold 'Sonny' Lloyd Jones, Jr., 68,of Sleepy Eye, died on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan, Minn.
Service is 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 25, at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation is one hour before the service at the funeral home.
He is survived by daughters, Lynn Jones of Alaska, Amy Bachmeyer of Mankato; son, Michael Jones of Ohio, three grandchildren; siblings, Lois, Frank, Evelyn, Helen, Fred, Edward, William, Mary, Francis, Robert, Donald and Virginia.
Harold Lloyd Jr. was born on Aug. 1, 1936, in Redwood Falls, Minn., to Harold F. and Iva "Lillian" (Hammond) Jones.

Merrill R. Krienke, 85, of Sleepy Eye, died on Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, at Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, with burial in Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Wednesday; and 7:30-8:30 a.m., Thursday, at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye; and one hour before services Thursday at the church.
He is survived by sons, Norman Krienke of Sleepy Eye, Paul Krienke of Sleepy Eye, Lee Krienke of Etowah, N.C., and Alan Krienke of Sleepy Eye; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was born on Nov. 22, 1918, in Home Township, Brown County, Minn., to Henry and Alma (Rosenau) Krienke.

Laura Mary Schirlinger, 94, of Franklin, and originally of New Ulm, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Franklin Healthcare Center.
Mass of Christian burial is 1:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 24, at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm with the Rev. John Richter officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia.
Laura Mary Schirlinger was born May 31, 1910, in New Ulm, to Ludwig and Mary (Schmid) Schirlinger. She had recently been a resident of Franklin Healthcare Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and sisters, Magnus Schirlinger, Herbert Schirlinger, Edwin Schirlinger, Caroline Brandel and Agnes Prax.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Stella Schirlinger and brother-in-law Walter Brandel, both of New Ulm and several nieces and nephews.
Blessed be her memory.

Helen Halverson, 86, of Asheville, N.C., passed away Saturday, September 18, 2004.
She was a long time resident of Asheville and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. John O. Halverson and Emma Evenson Halverson, and a sister Edna May Brown Dellinger.
Miss Halverson grew up in Raleigh and was a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music. Upon later completion of a business course, she was a stenographer with the North Carolina Department of Education in Raleigh. She moved to Asheville in 1960.
Miss Halverson is survived by four nephews; John T. Brown and his wife Patricia of Fincastle, Va.; Robert H. Brown and his wife Beverly of Burke, Va.; James E. Brown and his wife Susan of Midland, TX.; and Richard O. Brown and his wife Nancy of Greensboro, NC.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Montlawn Cemetery in Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the memorial fund at First Presbyterian Church, 40 Church Street, Asheville, NC 28801.

Howard Swanson, 59, of Hector, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the Swedlanda Lutheran Church in rural Hector. Interment will be in the Church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Howard Lee Swanson was born on Nov. 17, 1944, in Hutchinson, the son of Roger and Edna (Edward) Swanson. He served his country in the National Guard.
Howard is survived by his wife Virginia Swanson of Hector; his sons: Daniel Swanson of Buffalo Lake, David Swanson of Hutchinson, Duane Swanson Hector, and Paul Sauter of Hector; nine grandchildren; his mother Edna Swanson Harvey of Hector; a sister Darlene Gaulke of Hector.

Victor Zempel, 88, of Morgan, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Morgan with burial in Eden Mount Hope Cemetery, Eden Township, Brown County, Minnesota.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Morgan and Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by a brother, Elmer of Morgan and Ortwin of Franklin.
He was born April 15, 1916 in North Eden Township, Brown County to Oscar and Emma (Gens) Zempel.
