Nick Lee Mueller, 16, of New Ulm died Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 25, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Father John A. Richter celebrating. Burial will be in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Friday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Nick is survived by his mother, Nancy Mueller and her friend, Dave Schmidt, both of New Ulm; his father, Craig Mueller of New Ulm; grandmothers, Julia Schugel and Donna Mueller, both of New Ulm; a half brother, Matt Mueller of Mankato; by his girlfriend, Kayla Becker of New Ulm; aunts and uncles, Kathleen and Larry Johnson of New Ulm, Mel Schugel of New Ulm, Ken Schugel of St. Peter, Julie and Darrin Klover of New Ulm, DeAnn and Larry Fast of Apple Valley, Becky and Tony Miller of Mankato, Jeff and Betty Mueller of Mankato; and Pat Mueller of Tampa, Florida; cousins, Larry and Wendy Johnson and Paul of Janesville, Wisconsin, Jill and Mark Bocock and Hayley of St. James, Tammy Johnson of Arkansas, Katie Johnson of Oregon, Christopher Schugel of Washington, Sarah and Alison Schugel of New Ulm, Michael, Jennifer, Xavier, Aden, and Valerie Schugel of St. Peter, Vanessa Parker, Tyler, Ian, and Eric Klover of New Ulm, Jason and Yvette Fast of Owatonna, Andy and Bev Miller and Joe, Derick, and Brandon of Mankato, Kristi Miller of Florida, Andrea Miller of Minneapolis, Amy and Chad Reed and Kenna and Lucas of Mankato, Corey and Jen Mueller and Dustin and Madilyn of Mankato, Brent Mueller of Mankato, Amanda Mueller of Mankato, and Matika Mueller of Tampa. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Melvin Schugel and Lothar Mueller; an aunt, Lois Schugel; and a baby cousin, Klover.
Nick was born on October 21, 1987 in New Ulm to Craig and Nancy (Schugel) Mueller. He attended New Ulm Senior High School. He has been active in many sports including, basketball, football, soccer, wrestling, golf, archery, dance, choir, ice skating, bowling, and the "Crazy for you Musical." Nick was active in SPOTS (Students Performing On Tough Situations) which encourages kids to make good decisions in difficult situations. He belonged to the FOCUS Bible study, was an altar server, helped with the church picnic, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was involved in both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Nick recently got a new job at Hardees and a new truck and spent a lot of his time working on stereo systems, helping friends, mowing lawn (since the time he could reach the handle), tinkering with anything with an engine, and has always been Grandma's little helper. He enjoyed fishing, guns and target shooting, and dream cars; he always had a different dream car to talk about. The smile on his face will always be missed -- he was a good kid!!
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to SPOTS or the Jacob Wetterling Foundation.

Victor J. Kielty, Sr., 78, of Comfrey, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004 at Mankato House Health Care Center in Mankato.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Interment will be at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Comfrey.
Visitation will be 7:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Kielty of Comfrey; a son, Jim Kielty of Cokato; daughters, Janice Zernechel of North Mankato, Julie Dvorak of St. Peter, and Jane Lamoreux of St. Peter;
11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Victor James Kielty was born Aug. 9, 1926 in New Ulm to James and Katie Kielty.

James R. Carrier, 67, of Waconia, formerly of New Ulm, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon on Monday, Sept. 24, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, with Father Edward Ardolf officiating. Interment will be in New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home, 141 East 1st St., Waconia, with a vigil prayer service at 5 p.m., and at St. Mary's church Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the mass.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; son and daughter-in-law, Randall Carrier and Mary Jorissen of Shakopee; daughter, Mary Jane Carrier and special friend Mark Jacobson of Waconia; granddaughter, Jennifer Christensen; great grandchildren, Leah and T.J. Christensen; brother and sister-in-law, Rich and Judy Carrier of Austin, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, MaryLu and Bruce Brendon of St. Louis Park; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen Carrier of New York, LorJean Hauser of North Mankato, Liz and Paul Kubiszewski of Porter, Donald and Donna Hauser of Hammond, Wis., Jerome and Alice Hauser of New Ulm, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Lucille Carrier; brother, Michael Carrier; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Mary Hauser; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Arlene and Adrian Mattila, Eugene Hauser, Raymond Hauser, Roland Hauser, James Hauser, Norbert Hauser, Rosella and Al Ubl.
He was born Jan. 4, 1937, in New Ulm, the son of Dale and Lucille (Devine) Carrier. He grew up in New Ulm and moved to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota. He served two years in the U.S. Navy. He belonged to the AmVets in Waconia, who stood guard at the wake. He worked for the New Ulm Phone Company, and was employed at Qwest for 35 years. He loved playing dominoes, card games, visiting with family and friends and wintering in Arizona. Jim was a member of St. Victoria Catholic Church in Waconia.

Keith Roberts, 47, of Ames, Iowa, passed away on Sept. 13, 2004, at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, with burial in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Keith was born April 10, 1957, in Cleveland, Tenn., to Mary Ellen (McGuire) and Gilbert Roberts.
Keith was married to Judy Guldan Phillips on Aug. 14, 1987, at St. Mary's Church in Sleepy Eye.
Keith is survived by his wife, Judy of Ames; son, Gabriel and wife Chris; daughters, Bethany and Heather, Charity and husband Larry Faber, and Amber and husband Ryan Cross, all of Ames; Harmony Perry of Tennessee; four grandchildren; his father, Gilbert Roberts, sister, Teresa and husband Don Miller and brother Alan and wife Susie Roberts, all of Tennessee; his mother-in-law, Delores Guldan of Sleepy Eye; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Shelley Schwab, Tom and Bonnie Guldan of Sleepy Eye, Mike and Annie Guldan, Jim and Brenda Guldan and Denny and Janice Guldan, all of New Ulm, Steve and Ana Guldan of Alcalde, N. Mex., Jon and Julie Guldan of St. Joseph, Mo.; and nieces and nephews.

Walter Schreiner, 86, of Gibbon died Thursday, September 23, 2004 at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 27, 2004 at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon with burial in the church cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 - 8 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon. There will be a rosary by the St. Willibrord's Catholic Aid Society at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. both Sunday at the funeral home.
Walter is survived by his wife, Helena Schreiner of Fairfax; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Bruce Walker of Minot, North Dakota, Linda and Ken Marti of New Ulm, Mary and Jerry Walerius of New Prague; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Marilyn Schreiner of Hutchinson, Dean and Betty Schreiner of Gibbon, eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Marcella Rubischko of Fairfax, Phyllis and Dick Gruenhagen of Gibbon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer and Doris Schreiner of Buffalo Lake, Lawrence and Jean Schreiner of Oakdale, Dory Schreiner of Fairfax, and Cloe Klinkner of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, LeRoy Schreiner; and brothers-in-law, John Rubischko, and Martin Klinkner.
Walter George Schreiner was born on March 15, 1918 in West Newton Township, Nicollet County to Ludwig and Catherine (Brey) Schreiner. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1941 to 1945. On February 12, 1946 he married Helena Liebl at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. They farmed in Grafton Township, Sibley County until 1980 when they retired but continued to live on the farm. In 1982 they moved to Gibbon. Walter enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, playing cards and spending a lot of his free time doing a variety of jobs for his church. He was a member of St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon, a member of the St. Willibrord's Catholic Aid Society, the Catholic Order of Foresters, Gibbon Senior Citizen's, and had been a member of the American Legion Post #266 in Gibbon.

Robert "Bob" Rubie, 41, of 1404 North Minnesota died Friday, September 24, 2004 at his home after a very brave and courageous battle with Melanoma cancer.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Todd Nelsen officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. on Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
Bob is survived by his wife Julie Rubie of New Ulm; his children, Allison, Erin, and Colin; parents, Anton and Leona Rubie of New Ulm; sister, Barbara O' Brien and her husband, Pat of Hayward, Wisconsin; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Cathy Trautmiller of New Ulm; a sister-in-law, Sue Sullivan and her husband, Scott; niece and god daughter, Amber Sullivan of New Ulm; goddaughter, Callie Johnson of Bernadotte; and an uncle, Lawrence Hornig of New Ulm; he was preceded in death by his grandparents and godparents.
Bob was born on July 9, 1963 in New Ulm to Anton and Leona Rubie. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1981. On May 20, 1989, he married Julie Trautmiller at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Bob worked as a mechanic at Potter's in New Ulm until September 1999. He then worked for the City of New Ulm Park and Rec for the last five years until his death.
Bob was a good friend to many. He enjoyed watching his children's activities. He loved work whether it was his job, farming, wood working, or mechanics. Bob enjoyed deer hunting, watching NASCAR races, and bowling.
For those who knew him best, his passion was riding motorcycle. With the help of his best friend, Leon Matties, he attained his last goal, making it to the Sturgis Bike Rally in August for the eighteenth time. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the donor's choice.

Gilbert Muetzel, 89, of Redwood Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2004, at the Redwood Area Medical Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 28, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will be St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Sheridan Township.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Redwood Valley Funeral Home; and continues one hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Emma F. Timm, 82, of Lamberton, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at her home.
Services are 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 30, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sanborn, with burial in Crestlawn Gardens, rural Redwood Falls.
Visitation is 5-7:30 p.m., Wednesday and 11:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Nelson-Martin Funeral Service of Redwood Falls.
She is survived by children, Lester Timm of Brandon, S.D., Elvers Timm of Hutchinson, Norma Beg of Redwood Falls; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson; brothers, John Kruse of New Ulm; and sisters, Leona Raddatz and Elsie Kruse of Redwood Falls.
She was born Nov. 11, 1921, in New Avon Township, Redwood County, Minn., to Edward and Metha (Koch) Kruse.

Joan Gallery, 81, of Franklin, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at the Redwood Area Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Birch Cooley Cemetery in Birch Cooley Township.
Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements are by the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service, Redwood Falls.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Fischer of Olivia
She was born Sept.17,1923, in Birch Cooley Township, Renville County, to Sylvester and Martha (Mahlum) Gallery.

Eleanora Jutz, 91, of Gibbon died Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Care Center in Winthrop.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 30, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 9-11 a.m., Thursday at the church.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Eleanora is survived by her daughter, Linda Fierst of New Ulm; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Dale Jutz of Lafayette; grandchildren, Bret Borchardt and his wife, Heidi of Burnsville, Jeffrey Jutz stationed at Great Lakes, Illinois, Ashley Jutz at home; great-grandsons, Cole Borchardt and Cade Borchardt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Jutz on Jan. 28, 1980; sisters, Clara Petersen, Adeline Bertelsen, Mary Schneider, Kate Mayer; and brothers, Andrew Mayer, Arthur Mayer and Henry Mayer.
Eleanora K. Mayer was born on Oct. 4, 1912, in Moltke Township, Sibley County, to Henry and Louise (Eckert) Mayer. On Oct. 4, 1939, she married Joseph Jutz at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon. After marriage they farmed in West Newton Township, Nicollet County. In 1960 they retired but continued to live on the farm.
Eleanora enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette and was a member of the Altar Society at church.

Lucille Sellner, 88, of Sleepy Eye, died Monday, Sept, 27, 2004, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye,
Service is 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 30, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Clergy will be Fr. Brian Oestreich. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Sleepy Eye
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, and 7:30-10 a.m., Thursday, at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye There will be a Christian Mothers/Catholic Aid rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Lucille was born on Sept. 1, 1916, in Mulligan Township to daughter of William and Bertha (Zwaschka) Schroepfer. She married Edmund H. Sellner on June 29, 1937, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home in Stark Township where they farmed for 40 years until retiring in 1977 and then moved to Sleepy Eye. She had been a resident at Divine Providence since April of 1995. Lucille enjoyed her family, her many flowers, crocheting, embroidering and quilting. She was very active in volunteer work and loved playing cards. Lucille was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, CCW, Catholic Aid, Christian Mothers and Divine Providence Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Janet and Jim Braun of Annandale, Myra and Scott Simon of Sleepy Eye, Rosie and Mike Zeig of Sleepy Eye, eight grandchildren and their spouses, Pete and Jenny Braun, Holly and Harv Geislinger, Jared Braun, Shannon Zeig, Melissa and Dallas Tebben, Stacy and Ryan Zarn, Mark Simon, Daniel Simon; five great-grandchildren; Brent, Madison and Courtney Geislinger, Melanie and Dominick Braun; brothers in-law and sisters in-law and their spouses, Joan and Dale Abrahamson of Sleepy Eye, Sally Schroepfer of Searles, Clement and Dorothy Sellner of Sleepy Eye, Clara Schroepfer of Sleepy Eye, Angie Weber of New Ulm, Ann Hacker of Lafayette, Florence Sellner of Sleepy Eye and Harold Johnson of Madelia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edmund in 1999; brothers, Linus and Gerald T. Schroepfer; and sisters, Marcella Mathiowetz and Mildred Groebner.
