Ruby Arndt, 85, of New Ulm died Saturday, August 14, 2004 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Donald Sutton officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 7:30 until 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
Ruby is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqualine and Gerald Schroeder of Hanska, Elaine and Carl Paa of New Ulm, Diane and Tom Konakowitz of Rochester, Sonja and David Freiderich of New Ulm, and Debra and Paul Roiger of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Ezra W. "Buzz" and Marie Arndt of Brooklyn Park and William and Rebecca Arndt of New Ulm; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ezra W. Arndt on February 19, 1991; a sister, Agnes Wright; and by a brother, Oscar Troldahl.
Ruby Olga Troldahl was born on March 30, 1919 in Hanska to Ole and Rena (Sperstad) Troldahl. She attended school in Hanska. On November 19, 1935, Ruby was united in marriage to Ezra W. Arndt in Hanska. Her and her husband owned and operated the National Cafe in New Ulm from 1950 - 1955. She then worked for the Wearwell Garment Factory in New Ulm for many years before becoming employed at Kraft Foods in New Ulm, working there for 16 1/2 years before retiring in 1982. She was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Ruby was an avid bowler being a member of the New Ulm Bowling Association and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in 1992. She became a resident of the Oak Hills Living Center on December 8, 2002. Ruby will always be remembered for her love of family and her great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.

Luella M. Bauer, 85, of Gaylord, died on Friday at the Gaylord Lakeview Home in Gaylord.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop, with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Mountville, rural Gaylord.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements by Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop.
Luella is survived by her daughter, Karen Peterson of Gaylord; son, Norman Bauer of Watertown; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
Luella M. Bauer was born April 25, 1919, in Transit Township, Sibley County, to Paul and Alvina (Schauer) Grochow.

Andrew Pettis, 87, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004 at the Redwood Area Hospital.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, from 4z00 at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls and Tuesday one hour prior to time of service.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls, with burial with military honors at Beaver Falls Cemetery, Beaver Falls Township, rural Redwood Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Pettis of Redwood Falls, daughter: Andrea Kessler of Redwood Falls; sons, Merle Pettis of Redwood Falls and Randall Pettis of Axtell, Neb.; five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
He was bron March 17,1917 on a farm near Renville, to Harvey S. and Ida E. (Shaller) Pettis.

Lorenz C. Grewe, 82, of Arlington died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004 at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mountville, rural Gaylord with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 to 8 a.m. Monday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord and Monday at the church, one hour prior to the service. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife Bernice of Arlington and a brother, Eugene of Gaylord.
He was born July 19, 1922 in Dryden Township, rural Gaylord to Martin and Augusta (Schauer) Grewe.

Ruth A. Wolff, 85, of Arlington, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, a the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling arrangements.
Ruth is survived by her children, Bruce Wolff of Arlington and Charlene Lidberg of Silver Lake; and brothers, Robert Streich of Hutchinson, Edwin Streich of LeCenter, and Walter Streich of Coon Rapids.
She was born March 7, 1919, in Brownton to Robert and Clara (Rannow) Streich.

Theresa C. Annen, 102, of Alexandria, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at the Douglas County Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery in New Ulm. Services are being directed by Petermeier's Alexandria Funeral Care and Cremation Service.
Theresa was born on May 20, 1902, on a farm south of Sleepy Eye. When she was eight years old she moved to a farm north of Sleepy Eye in what was then Golden Gate, a small township that went out of existence with the railroad going through Sleepy Eye.
On May 5, 1925, Theresa was married to Ervin Annen and thus became Theresa Annen from Theresa Weiss. She and Ervin lived on a number of farms around Courtland and Norseland.
In 1947, Theresa and Ervin retired from farming and moved to New Ulm. It was here that she began her career in the food industry. She spent her first nine years working at Eibner's, first as a cook then becoming a celebrated cake decorator. In 1956, she became a partner in a bar and fine dining restaurant, the Vogue Café, located in Brainerd.
In 1964, Mrs. Annen moved to Richfield to live with her son, Robert. Since then she has lived with Robert and his wife, in Detroit, Mich.; Brussels, Belgium; Plymouth, and Alexandria, Minn.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary and husband, Vern Hanson of Columbia Heights; sons: Donald and wife, Virginia of Kansas City, Mo., Robert and wife, Vivian of Alexandria; sister, Lucille Bertrand of St. Paul; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
"Grandma," as she was affectionately known by all who know her, was loved by all. Her love, caring and compassion for all is her enduring trademark.

Jeffery L. Lane, 45, of Mankato died Sunday, August 15, 2004 at the Mankato House Health Care Center,
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Woodland Hills Chapel, Mankato. There will be a visitation Thursday, (8:30 to 10:30 a.m.) two hours prior to the service at Woodland Hills. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park,
Jeffery is survived by his father, Richard (Rocky) Lane; a brother, Alan R. Lane; a sister, Debbie A. Jones; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Dueball) Jones, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Beatrice Current, 82, of Franklin, formerly of New Ulm, died Monday, August 16, 2004 at the Franklin Health Care Center.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm with Rev. Penny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cambria Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, and 7:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at Schmucker Funeral Service in New Ulm.
Beatrice Ann Tanley, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Hughes) Tanley, was born October 21, 1921 near Cambria. She married Wendell Lewis October 27, 1946 in Cambria. A lifelong area resident, Bea worked at Kraft Foods, Schmucker Reliable Drug, Fischer Rexall Drug, and Purity White Castle in New Ulm for many years. Her husband died in 1979. She married Glen Current November 22, 1980 in Cambria. He died in 1989. Bea was a resident of Ridgeway on German in New Ulm until moving to the Franklin Health Care Center in November of 2001. She was a member of the Cambria Presbyterian Church.
Bea is survived by several cousins. In addition to her parents and husbands, Bea was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Ann Tanley.

Gerald Miller, 65, of Hanska, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004 at his rural Hanska home of cancer.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska with Rev. Marcia Hegna officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Schmucker Funeral Service in Hanska, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Gerald Dale Miller, the son of Axel and Lillian (Fast) Miller was born January 21, 1939 in New Ulm. He grew up on the family farm in Lake Hanska Township and graduated from Hanska High School in 1956. Gerald was united in marriage to Sharon Welke November 26, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska. He spent his lifetime working on the family farm, retiring in January 2004. Gerald was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska where he served as Financial Secretary-Treasurer, Trustee, was a member of the Property Maintenance Board and the church choir. He also served on the Lake Hanska Township Board for several years. Gerald enjoyed farming, bowling, listening to Christian music, watching Christian programs and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Sharon of rural Hanska; daughter, Tammy Dotson of Owatonna; sons, Tim Miller and his wife Jill of Hanska, Todd Miller and his wife Kelly of Hanska; sisters, Margie Paulson and her husband LaVerne of Hanska, Colleen Annexstad and her husband Gregg of Port Townsend, WA, Carol Miller and her husband Paul of Belmond, IA; brother, Don Miller and his wife Ethel of Savage, MN; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Miller of Hanska, Leatrice Ellanson and her husband Duane of New Ulm, Dolores Baier of New Ulm, Lonnie Wieseler and her husband Jim of Good Thunder; brothers-in-law, Rodger Welke and his wife Monica of Madelia, Jerry Welke of New Ulm; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Rachel and Tiffany Dotson, Shannon Carlson and her husband Aaron, Kyle, Aaron and Kelsey Miller, and Jaden Miller; two great grandchildren, Malichi and Kinzie Carlson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by a brother, Allan; sister-in-law, Lyneece Welke; and brother-in-law, Jim Baier.

Lillian Thoresen, 88, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 88 years.
Services will be Saturday, August 21 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Pastor Carl Seamon officiating.
Services are with Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Lillian Elva Thoresen was born Oct. 26, 1915 in Grand Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Pearl (St. Peter) Reno. She grew up in the Round Lake/Worthington area and was a graduate of Round Lake High School. Lillian was united in marriage to Oscar Thoresen on June 2, 1940 and they lived in Worthington from 1940-1971. Following retirement, they moved to Florida and resided there for 17 years. They then moved to Jackson, MN in 1988. Oscar died in 1988. Lillian moved to Springfield in 1999 where she resided in her home until her death.
Survivors include children: Genece and husband Garey Lunn of Savage, MN, Gaylyn and husband Chet Bisel of Springfield, and Craig and wife Barb Thoresen of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Corey and wife Kathy Lunn and children Benjamin and Molly of Prior Lake, MN, Sara and husband Scott Hanson and daughters Olivia and Grace of Montevideo, MN, Jody Donovan and son Jack of Burnsville, MN, Chett and wife Darla Bisel and sons Zachary and Noah of Springfield, and Kelly and husband Scott Moore of Avondale, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar; brothers, Les, Lyle and Luverne Reno; and infant granddaughter, Michelle Lynn Bisel.

Alvin Pederson, 70, of Lamberton, died on Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Highwater Lutheran Church in rural Lamberton. Burial will be at Highwater Lutheran Cemetery, with military rites performed by the Andrew Peterson American Legion Post 41 in Lamberton.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, and 9-10 a.m. on Monday at the church.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Klinkhammer of Downing, Wis.; two grandchildren; and siblings, Jim of Plainview, Shirley Knakmuhs of Walnut Grove, Ken of Willmar, David of Fairmont, Richard of Blomkest, Roger of New York Mills, and Marie Hutchinson of Revere.
He was born May 15, 1934, near Revere in Redwood County, to Oscar and Anna (Hoffrogge) Pederson. He served in the U.S. Army Air Borne in 1956-1959.

Allen Brelje, 56, of Gaylord, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at his home.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004 at First Lutheran Church in Glencoe with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Kolden Funeral Home, Arlington and Sunday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by two sons, Travel of Arlington and Tim of Brownton; brothers Arnold and Edgar both of Glencoe; sisters Elaine Grack of Glencoe, Leona Shore of Mound and Irene Nelson of Waconia.
He was born July 13, 1948 in Glencoe to Ernst and Helen (Helmold) Brelje. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
