Audrey Brown 1921 - 2004 former Pine River resident
Audrey Leona Doty Brown died September 29, 2004.
Audrey was born in Pine River on March 25, 1921 to Harold and Rose Anna Doty.
She married Raymond Brown, Jr., a U.S. Air Force officer, whose career saw the family transferred to several different bases in the United States and abroad.
Audrey is survived by sons Terry (Dr. Mary Burch) of Williamsburg, Virg., Tommy (Paula) of Poway, Calif. Todd (Carlyn) of Prunedale, Calif.; daughter Dr. Audrey Brown Keebler of El Dorado, Calif.; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother Robert, Pequot Lakes.
In lieu of services, the family requests that remembrances be sent to Snowline Hospice, 670 Placerville Drive, Suite 2, Placerville CA 95667 or the American Cancer Society.

Donald Robey 1916 - 2004 Pequot Lakes
Donald B. Robey, 88, Pequot Lakes, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 at his residence.
Donald was born September 7, 1916 in Waukon, Iowa.
He is survived by son Larry of Brainerd; Patricia Freschette of Clearwater Beach, Florida; Steven Robey of Minneapolis; Cheri Kuhlman of Blackduck; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and dear friend James Bresnahan.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alice; parents; one sister and two brothers.
Services will be at a future date.

Jean M. Hunter 1943 - 2004 Deerwood
Jean Marie Hunter, 61, Deerwood, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, after a yearlong fight with cancer.
Jean was born on Aug. 6, 1943, in Ortonville to John and Christina (Hecht) Kruse. She was a retired bookkeeper for Nelson Trucking, Deerwood, with 18 years of service. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Crosby, and attended Westside Calvary Church, Aitkin.
She is survived by husband, Jim; son Rick (Teri) Bierman of Sartell; daughters Sherri Bierman and Lori (Mike) Guin, all of Brainerd; mother Christina Kruse of Wilmont, S.D.; stepson James T. (Autumn) Hunter of Brainerd; stepdaughters Deanna Perkins of Minneapolis, Tammy (Tom) Fickett of Sartell, Connie (John) Hutchins of Pine River, Aubrey Hunter of Syracuse, Kan.; brother Lonnie Kruse of Perris, Calif., Neil (Jeanne) Kruse of Aurora; sisters Lynette (Scott) Dehning of Deerwood; sister-in-law Amy Kruse of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Kruse, and brother Terry Kruse.
Funeral services will be 11 am on December 23 at the Westside Church in Aitkin. Burial will be at the Deerwood Scandia Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 pm-8 pm at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby and an hour prior to services at church on Thursday.

Tim Shaw 1949 - 2004 Breezy Point
Timothy Robert Shaw, 55, Breezy Point, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004 at the St. Cloud Hospital due to an accidental fall.
Tim was born on Jan. 2, 1949, in Mankato, the son of Thomas R. and Betty (Osteen) Shaw. He attended and graduated from Gaylord High School in 1968. He was united in marriage to Verla Holste on Dec. 16, 1994, at the American Lutheran Church in Gaylord, Minn. Tim and Verla made their home in Gaylord, Minn. In October 1999, Tim and Verla purchased a home on Pelican Lake in Breezy Point
Tim was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes and a former member of the American Lutheran Church in Gaylord, Minn. He enjoyed fishing on Minnesota lakes, salmon fishing in Michigan and on lakes in Canada. Tim liked working with heavy equipment and enjoyed repairing things when needed. He enjoyed operating his wood splitter, which furnished fuel for the family. Tim was a member of the Pelican Lake Conservation Club and the Grumpy Old Men's coffee club of Breezy Point. Tim loved playing cards and visiting with family and friends. He was a good neighbor and always willing to help with odd jobs.
Tim is survived by his wife Verla of Breezy Point; son, Joseph (Tamara) of Baumholder, Germany; daughter Brooke (Benjamin) Melius of Mankato; stepsons Scott (Sarah) Franke of Nisswa and Roger (Tasha) Franke of Albemarle, N.C.; brothers Terry (Julianne) and Kenneth, both of Gaylord, James of Minneapolis; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; sister-in-law Sharon Holste, of Pensacola, Fla.; brother-in-law, Curtis (Linda) Holste of Albemarle, N.C.; and one goddaughter.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Betty Shaw, and his grandparents.

Robert Tougas 1960 - 2004 St. Mathias
Robert Joseph "Robbie" Tougas, 44, St. Mathias, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at his home.
Robert was born in Little Falls on Jan. 14, 1960, to Stephen and Helen (Olson) Tougas.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Tougas; brother Stephen (Jeanette) of Oklahoma; sisters Lois (Len) Juntunen of Merrifield, Valerie Smude of Brainerd, Beverly (Arvin) Hansmann of Milaca and Lorena of Fort Ripley; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen, in 1974.
Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 20 at St. Mathias Catholic Church with Father Seamus Walsh officiating. Burial was in St. Mathias Cemetery.

John Weaver 1928 - 2004 Anoka
John L. Weaver, 76, Anoka and longtime cabin owner in the Brainerd lakes area, died Dec. 18, 2004, in Anoka.
John was born in Anoka, March 19, 1928. He was a lifelong resident of Anoka. He graduated from Anoka High School in 1946 (valedictorian). He attended University of Minnesota from 1946-1951, Alpha Delta Phi. NROTC (Served aboard USS Iowa and USS Boxer in the Pacific.). President of The Weaver Brothers Co., real estate investors/developers. He was a member of Kiwanis Club of Anoka, Anoka Chamber of Commerce, Zion Lutheran Church of Anoka, Minnesota National Guard Advisory Committee, Board of Directors Anoka Community Concert Association, Anoka Ramsey Community College Foundation, Anoka Hennepin Technical College Foundation and Anoka County Historical Society past president, Anoka Hennepin District No. 11 School Board from 1971-1978, Minnesota House of Representatives from 1978-1982, Anoka City Council 1983 to present, Minnesota Municipal Power Agency from 1990 to present, and Metropolitan Council Transportation Advisory Board from 2000-2003. He attained rank of Eagle in scouting in 1944 and Viking Council Board of Directors from 1960 to present.
He is survived by wife, Jenille "Jill;" son Jeff (Robin) of Anoka; daughters Sarah (Jeff) Aga of Nisswa, Martha (Lance) West of Indiana; six and one-third grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Esther Weaver, one brother and six sisters.
Memorial services were December 22 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the John L. Weaver Memorial Fund at the First National Bank of Elk River, Anoka office, 1121 West Highway 10, Anoka, MN 55303.

Denise L. Bandemer 1963 - 2004 Nisswa
Denise L. Bandemer, 41, Nisswa, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at St. Joseph's Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 9, 1963, in Brainerd to Maurice and Verna (Pickar) Dixon. She married Bradley Bandemer on Feb. 22, 1990, in Las Vegas.
Denise is survived by her husband, Bradley; son Brandon Hines of Merrifield; daughter Shyanne Bandemer at home; mother Verna Kramer of Brainerd; sister Leanne (Roy) Hines of Brainerd; and sister-in-law Leila (Richard) Firtko of Maple Grove.
She was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Dixon; brother Daren Dixon; sister Angela Dixon; and her stepfather Charles Kramer.
Services were Dec. 15 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor Andy Smith officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Brainerd.

Walter S. Pedersen 1907 - 2004 Pequot Lakes
Walter S. Pedersen, 97, Pequot Lakes, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Center in Pine River.
Walter was born May 5, 1907, in rural Pine River to Jonas and Marie Pedersen. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following his discharge, he went to work for Honeywell in Minneapolis. In 1960, he married Mae Rolfhus. In 1969 they moved to Pequot Lakes where Walter continued to work as a piano tuner until his retirement. He enjoyed music, especially singing and playing the accordion. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes where he sang in the choir, the Pequot Lakes American Legion and Jenkins VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Mae; nephews Ranald Huffman of Backus, Clifford Huffman of Newberg, Ore., and Robert Huffman of Portland, Ore.; nieces Lois Dirks of Portland, Ore., Patty Gordon of St. Louis, and Phyllis Stewart of Xenia, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and six sisters.
Services were Dec. 14, at our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes with Reverend Dr. David Stevens officiating. Burial was in Our Savior's Cemetery.

Emma L. Kuehn 1932-2004; Mission Township
Emma Louise Kuehn, 72, of Mission Township, died on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1932, in Mission Township to Jesse and Hettie (Amos) Van Horn. She married Herman Kuehn on June 25, 1957.
She is survived by brothers Roy (Virginia) Van Horn, Aitkin, Gerald (Lucy) Van Horn, Crosby; sisters, Hazel Wyson, Palmer, Alaska, Alice (John) Seguin, Deerwood, Rose Mary Vadner, Ellsworth, Wis.; and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Shorty Kuehn; and brothers Richard, Jesse Jr. and Lee Van Horn.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. on December 31, 2004, at Mission Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2004 at the Koop Funeral Home, Crosby.

Stephen L. Klein 1927-2004; Crosslake
Stephen L. Klein, 77, died Saturday, December 25, 2004, at Pierz Villa.
He was born May 2, 1927, in Chanhassen, to Henry and Elizabeth (Marschall) Klein. He worked as an auto mechanic. He served in the Navy from 1945-1946, then returned to Chanhassen. He married Audrey Marshall on August 16, 1949, in Shakopee. The couple raised their family in Eden Prairie. He worked for WG Pearson, Inc., in Prior Lake, from 1958 until his retirement. He moved to Dewdrop Lake in 1978 and lived there until moving to adult foster care in 1998. He had been a resident of Pierz Villa since August of 2004. He belonged to Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, Crosslake, was a charter member of the Eden Prairie Fire Department and was a member of the Crosslake-Fifty Lakes American Legion Post 500.
He is survived by his children, Gregory Klein, of Anchorage, AK; Cheryl (Gerald) Johnson of St. Cloud; and Victoria (John Barr) O'Brien, of Northfield; siblings Dorothy (Gilbert) Luers of Hot Springs, SD; Phillip (MaryAnn) Klein, of Pequot Lakes; and David (Jan) Klein, of Casa Grande, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be Friday, December 31, 2004, at 11 am, at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake, with Reverend Father Dennis Hoffman officiating. Friends may visit at the church one hour prior to services. Military honors will be provided by the Crosslake-Fifty Lakes American Legion, Post 500. Burial will be later this spring, at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Mound.

Cecil Solheim 1920 - 2004; Pine River & formerly of Pequot Lakes
Cecil Solheim, 84, of Pine River, and formerly of Pequot Lakes, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Center in Pine River. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
