Miriam C. Sapp

STAPLES -- Miriam C. Sapp, 92, Staples, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Greater Staples Hospital.

She was born April 20, 1908, in Staples to Harry and Florence (Quimby) Tyndall. She grew up in Staples and attended school here, graduating from Staples High School. In 1932 she married Lloyd Sapp in Staples. They made their home on a farm just south of Staples where they owned and operated Oak Hill Dairy for many years. She was a member of the Staples Congregational Church, the Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxiliary, where she was past president of the Sixth District.

Survivors include her son, Lloyd A. Sapp, Roseville; two daughters, JoAnne Schmidt, Milton, Wash., and Donna Walberg, Staples; two brothers, Allen Tyndall, Staples, and David Tyndall, Chula Vista, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Her husband; her daughter, Georgene Falldorf; and her brother, Byron Tyndall, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Staples Congregational Church with the Rev. Muriel Hachfeld officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Greater Staples Hospice.

Anna L. Daly

INDIANAPOLIS -- Anna L. (Bostian) Daly, 87, Indianapolis, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, Ind.

She was a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, Ind., for 16 years and retired in 1977. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.

Survivors include seven daughters, Ann Kalimare, Shelbyville, Ind., Flora Hammill, Indianapolis, Carol Day, Baxter, Anita Smith, Indianapolis, Catherine Adimare, Indianapolis, Pearl Faust, Indianapolis, and Mary DeFord, Indianapolis; 26 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Madonna Strunk, Great Falls, Mont.

Her husband, Clifford Daly, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church with prayers at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Little and Sons Funeral Home in Beech Grove, Ind. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Little and Sons in Beech Grove, Ind.

Gladys A. Hedlund

CROSBY -- Gladys A. Hedlund, 88, Crosby, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.

She was born Sept. 22, 1912.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Crumpton, Wheatridge, Colo.; and grandchildren.

Services will be noon Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby with the Rev. Paul Mattson officiating.

Arrangements are with Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

Dave Zilverberg

AITKIN -- Dave Zilverberg, 81, Aitkin, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.

Marguerite E. Curtis

Marguerite E. Curtis, 92, Brainerd, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.

Thomas S. Green

Thomas Sherman Green, 84, Tucson, Ariz., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Tucson Medical Center.

He was born May 4, 1916, to Clifford Sherman and Anna Margaret (Schlerman) Green in May Township, north of Motley. He attended country school through eighth grade. In 1932, he moved with his parents to a 500-acre farm near Merrifield. He married Ferne Marie Boldan on Sept. 2, 1942, in Midland, Mich. A master carpenter for more than 50 years, he began his career at Dow Chemical in Midland. He and his family moved to Tucson in 1952.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Thomas Green, Tucson, Ariz., Joseph Green, Albuquerque, N.M., Gregory Green, Tucson, Ariz., Timothy Green, Tucson, Ariz., and Mark Green, California; five daughters, Mary Jakubowski, Connecticut, Ann Eveland, Pine, Ariz., Carol Lemoine, California, Ruth Hobgood, Georgia, and Marie Bencoma, Georgia; 28 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Genevieve Borden, Merrifield.

A sister, Margaret Hall, and a daughter, Joan Keating, died earlier.

Services were at St. Chril's Church in Tucson, Ariz. Burial was in Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson, Ariz. Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association, 5325 East Pima, Tucson, Ariz., 85712.

Arrangements were with Wolfrey Mortuary in Tucson, Ariz.

Donna Cluff

AITKIN -- Donna Cluff, 84, Aitkin and Lake Placid, Fla., died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Fla.

She was born Aug. 24, 1916, in Hill City to Perry and Estella McAninch. Her childhood years were spent in Hill City. She chose to attend Aitkin High School, graduating in 1934. She worked in the women's department of the Potter Co. during her high school years and until her marriage to Jim Cluff in 1938. She was a member of Aitkin Methodist Church. She was involved in many service projects of the women's circles, religious education and regular worship. As her children grew, she began to work in the family business, the Royal Clothing House. She added a women's department to what had been a men's store. She presented the Aitkin news over KKIN radio station throughout the 1960s. She also hosted a talk show on KKIN for a number of years. Because of her husband's declining health, they sold the Royal Clothing House in 1976.

Survivors include a son, Craig Cluff, Aitkin; two daughters, Cathi Webster, Carlisle, Mass., Jean Cluff, Honaunau, Hawaii; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Feb. 4 at Aitkin Methodist Church. Memorials are preferred to support renovations at the church. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.

Arvid K. Beach

Arvid K. Beach, 56, Brainerd, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

He was born Sept. 7, 1944, in Brainerd to Harold and Viola (Turner) Beach. He served in the Army and worked in construction for many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Tara Lee, Brainerd; three sons, Jeff, Daryl and Mark Beach, all of Brainerd; six grandchildren; his mother, Brainerd; six brothers, Jerry, Kenny, Dick, Vernon, Billy and Ronnie Beach, all of Brainerd; and three sisters, Darlene Fuhrer, Gayle Jensen and Carol Hines, all of Brainerd.

His father, a grandson, a brother and two sisters died earlier.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd with Pastor Harvey Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Brainerd.

Friends may call an hour before services Thursday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd.

Eleanor K. Wentworth

Eleanor K. Wentworth, 90, Brainerd, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village.

She was born June 5, 1910, in St. Louis, Ill., to Martin and Anna (Steirer) Bornert. She married Ivor Wentworth on Sept. 22, 1951. She had lived at Woodland Good Samaritan Village since 1987.

Survivors include a special friend, Lottie; and many nieces and nephews.

Her husband; a sister, Cecelia Winder; and two brothers, Leo and Arthur, died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd with Deacon John Reed officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Friends may call an hour before services Wednesday at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.

Arrangements are with Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd.

Impi E. Middendorp

CROSBY -- Impi Eleanor Middendorp, 87, Crosby, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

She was born May 27, 1913, in Cuyuna to Frank and Ida Pihlaja.

Survivors include two sons, Andrew Middendorp, Dayton, Ohio, and Glenn Middendorp, Fridley; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Aura Peterson, Brainerd.

Her husband, Howard, and two sisters, Sylvia Hall and Saima Nichols, died earlier.

Services will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of services Thursday at Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

Daniel Larson

FOSSTON -- Daniel Larson, 57, Fosston, formerly of Brainerd, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Midway Care Center in Fosston.

He was born Aug. 6, 1943, in Brainerd to Leonard C. and Agnes E. (Studt) Larson. He had been a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church before moving to Fosston.

Survivors include a sister, Carmen Swanson, Hudson, Wis.

His parents died earlier.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Milo officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.

Friends may call an hour before services Wednesday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd.
