Clifford Petterson
ROSEAU, Minn. -- Clifford Petterson, 84, Roseau, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Clifford Rudolph Petterson was born June 30, 1913, the son of Theodore and Augusta (Dahlgren) Petterson, in Roseau, where he grew up and attended school. He married Vida Hanestad on Aug. 15, 1935, in Badger, Minn. he worked as a pipefitter at shipyards in Labrador and California during World War II. He developed a number of businesses in Roseau. Among these were: Petterson Plumbing and Heating, Pyrofax Gas & Magic Chef Stoves, Culligan Soft Water, The Evergreen Motel and the Travel Host Motel and Broiler Restaurant, the East & West side Trailer Courts, Hiway Trailer Sales, The West Side Laundromat, a commercial office building, and an apartment building.
He is survived by his wife; and a sister, Audrine Lee, Roseau.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence; and sisters, Carrie, Selma, and Elsie.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, First Lutheran Church, Roseau.
Visitation: Noon to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Helgeson Funeral Chapel, Roseau, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Hope Cemetery, Roseau.
Donald Dupont
RED LAKE FALLS, Minn. -- Donald Dupont, 66, Red Lake Falls, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, as a result of a semi accident near Hallock, Minn.
Donald LeeRoy Dupont was born April 9, 1931, the son of Archie and Eugenie (Charest) Dupont, in Red Lake Falls, where he grew up and attended school. He farmed south of Red Lake Falls, until 1955, when he joined the U.S. Army. He married Tersilla Vanitti on Nov. 30, 1957, in Sandona, Ariz. They moved to Red Lake Falls, where he farmed until 1967. He worked at Detroiter from 1966 to 1972, Cameron and Sullivan Associates from 1973 to 1981, and E.W. Wylie Trucking until 1983, when he purchased his own truck. He was presently working for Karries Inc., Grand Forks.
He is survived by his wife; children, Roger (Cynthia) and Dario, both of Red Lake Falls, Robert (Connie), Lancaster, Minn., and Margaret (Gerard) Tretter, Grand Forks; eight grandchildren; a brother, Ralph, Terrebonne, Minn.; and a sister, Norma Hunsinger, Astoria, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alrick; and a sister, Irene Nowak.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Seventh-day Adventest Church, Thief River Falls.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Petterson Funeral Home, Red Lake Falls, and one hour before services in the church.

Donald Johnson
GREENBUSH, Minn. -- Donald Johnson, 61, Minneapolis, formerly of Greenbush, died Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, in University Good Samaritan Home, Minneapolis.
Donald Johnson was born Dec. 9, 1936, the son of Leo and Mary (Botoshe) Johnson, in Greenbush, where he grew up and attended school. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He moved to Minneapolis, where he worked as a plumber. He married Cheryl Brisbane in Minneapolis.
He is survived by his wife; stepchildren, David and Sheri, both of Minneapolis; brothers, Norbert, Greenbush and James, Roseville, Minn.; and a sister, Leona Emery, Greenbush.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Ardell.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Collins Funeral Chapel, Greenbush.
Visitation: One hour before service in the funeral home.
Burial: Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Greenbush.
Margaret Netland
BAGLEY, Minn. -- Margaret Netland, 78, Bagley, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, in North County Regional Hospital, Bemidji.
Margaret Angeline Tereau was born April 20, 1919, the daughter of Benjamin and Nettie (Wilson) Tereau, in Falk Township, Douglas County, Minn. She attended school in Douglas County. She was raised in Garfield, Minn., by Peder and Minda Pederson. She married Norman Hollis Netland on Jan. 27, 1940, in Bagley, Minn. She worked at several Bagley restaurants. She operated the Mileage Truck Stop Cafe in Bagley, and the Gryce Stine Lodge on Lake Beltrami, Minn. They also farmed in Nora Township, Clearwater County, Minn., for many years.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Rueben (Claudia), Walla Walla, Wash., Warren (Kathi), Woodland, Wash., Steve (Cheryl), Bagley, and Craig, Fergus Falls; daughters, JoEllyn (Chester) Lundin, Mardelle (Harry) Kortan, both of Bagley, and Leanne (Dick) Evenson, Pequot Lakes, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Bernice Netland Hier and Lorraine Fittje, both of Bagley.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Myrtle Portz, Helen Vessee, Florence Aamold, and Edna Larson; and brothers, Norman Rusten and Joe Terreau.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Bethel Lutheran Church, Bagley.

Ervin Weberg
TRAIL, Minn. Ervin Weberg, 72, Trail, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, in Veteran's Administration Hospital, Fargo.
Ervin Arnold Weberg was born Jan. 9, 1926, the son of Arthur and Emma (Tollefson) Weberg, in Hill River Township, Polk County, Minn. He grew up and attended school in Trail. He married Violet Rustan. They lived in Milwaukee, later he worked on a ranch in Wolf Point, Mont. In 1955, he moved back to Trail, where he worked construction and farmed in the area.
He is survived by daughters, Pam Field, Tucson, Ariz. and Debra Kay (David) Haugen, Brooklyn Park, Minn.; sons, Gary (Barb), Plano, Texas and Scott, Forest Lake, Minn.; five grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Lorentzson, Climax, Minn.; and brothers, Carl, Trail and Mervin, Foxboro, Wis.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Sand Valley Lutheran Church, Trail.

Eleanor Ford
RED LAKE FALLS, Minn. Eleanor Ford, 83, Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Red Lake Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, in Memphis.
Eleanor Sylvia Gustofson was born Dec. 14, 1914, the daughter of Jorgan and Sophia (Larson) Gustofson, in Bemidji. She attended school in Bemidji and Faribault, Minn. She married Joe Ford, in 1933, in Red Lake Falls. They farmed north of Red Lake Falls. Joe Ford died in 1946. She moved to Memphis, in 1959, and made her home. She resided at St. Francis Hospital, Memphis, for several months.
She is survived by a son, John Joseph "Jack," Norfolk, N.J.; daughters, Carol (William) Smith, Memphis, and Joan (Maynard) Kalbakdalen, Red Lake Falls; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, David Gordon and Earl David; three grandsons; two brothers; and three sisters.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls.

Orville Kjelgren
GOODRIDGE, Minn. Orville Kjelgren, 67, Goodridge, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, in McIntosh (Minn.) Manor.
Orville Kjelgren was born Oct. 7, 1930, the son of John and Margaret (Omlid) Kjelgren, in Star Township, Pennington County, Minn., where he attended country school. He attended Northwest School of Agriculture, Crookston. He returned to Star Township to farm with his family. In 1958, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Iceland. He returned to the area and worked several jobs, including construction and for area farmers. He worked for Duane Erickson Farms, Gully, Minn. He took care of his mother at home until her death. He entered the Veterans Hospital in October 1997, and moved to the McIntosh Manor on January 8, 1998.
He is survived by a brother, Thorvald, Ottowa, Ill.; and sisters, Bernice Johnson, Goodridge, Mary Jane Mogen, Mount Iron, Minn., and Delores Daniels, Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Orley.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Ekelund Lutheran Church, Goodridge.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.

Norene Anderson
ROSEAU, Minn. - Norene Anderson, 94, Roseau, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, in Sheltering Oaks Nursing Home, Roseau.
Norene Edna Johnson was born Dec. 12, 1903, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Nygren) Johnson, in Alma Township, Marshall County, Minn. She attended school in Warren, Minn. She moved to Minneapolis, where she worked at a dry cleaners. She married Thorual "Andy" Anderson on Nov. 21, 1927, in Minneapolis, where they lived. She retired from the dry cleaning business. In 1997, she moved to Sheltering Oaks Nursing Home. Thorual Anderson preceded her in death.
She is survived by a sister, Gladys Hammerback, Roseau.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice; and brothers, Glenn and Elmer.
Services: 4 p.m. Thursday, Helgeson Funeral Chapel, Roseau.
Visitation: Noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Helgeson Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis.
