Donald Peterson

Services for Donald Ray Peterson, 84, of Hot Springs, Ark. and formerly of Rogers, were Friday Aug. 4, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Alliance Church of Monticello with Rev. Bill Arant officiating.

Mr. Peterson died at his residence Friday, July 28. Interment was at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens of Crystal.

He was born May 26, 1916, in Brooklyn Center, to Fred B. and Rose (Weber) Peterson. He grew up in Brooklyn Center area. For many years, he farmed in the Rogers area. Following his retirement from farming, he relocated to Hot Springs where he was involved in development since 1967.

He is survived by his former wife, Dorothy, of Monticello; three sons, Art (Beverly) Peterson of Big Lake, David (Carol) Peterson of Becker, and LeRoy (Harriet) Peterson of Edina; daughter, Jeannie (Jerry) Bakken of Big Lake; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph Peterson of Las Vegas, Nev., Irvin Peterson of Ham Lake, and Floyd Peterson of Minneapolis.; three sisters, Gertrude Hokanson of Minneapolis, Lenore Solie of Naples, Fla. and Lorraine Dombrowski of Roswell.

Serving as casketbearers were Dan Peterson, Tim Peterson, David Bakken, Jason Peterson, Bill Lamp and Andy Mayggard.

Jeremy M. Satre

Funeral services for Jeremy M. Satre, 23, of Champlin were Monday, July 31, at the Fourth Baptist Church in Plymouth. Interment was at the Champlin Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Steven and Rhonda Satre; brothers, Josh and Jason Satre; grandmother, Leah Olson; and Rachel Santema.

Jeremy and Rachel planned to be married.

Marian Geiger

Services for Marian Geiger, 85, of St. Therese Care Center, formerly of Minneapolis, were Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Church of St. Anne in Minneapolis. Interment was at St. Albert's Cemetery in Albertville.

Rev. Cyprian Marcieca officiated.

Mrs. Geiger is preceded in death by husbands, Andrew Geiger and Carl Becker; and son, Jerry Becker.

She was born to Theodore and Clara (Hagel) Hohs.

She is survived by daughter, Janet Leffler of Colorado; daughter-in-law, Sandra Becker of Edina; grandson, Jesse Leffler of Texas; granddaughters, Jolayne (Eric) Gutzait of Colorado and Kirstin Becker of Edina; and great-grandchildren, Jeanine and Evan Gutzait.

Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.

Melvin Holmes

Melvin (Mel) E. Holmes, 70, of Garrison, formerly of Osseo, died Tuesday, July 25, 2000.

He was born Dec. 28, 1929 in Brooklyn Center. He lived in Osseo prior to his moving to Garrison after retirement.

He was a member of Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, Garrison and had various memberships and volunteered much of his time in both Garrison and Osseo.

Survivors include his wife, Marion; five children, Cheryll (Richard) Edinger of Elk River, LuAn (Phil) Schutte of Corcoran, Mary (Joe) Bistodeau of Champlin, James of Osseo and Steven (Patty) of Garrison; six loving grandchildren, Scott, Jamie, Julie, Aaron, Kiel and Ann; sister, Donna (Neil) Moen and brother Duane (Mary) Holmes.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Emery and Frances and sister Delores.

Private family services were conducted at the Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Garrison with Rev. Curtis Foreman officiating.

Memorials preferred.

JoAnn E. Horstman

Services for JoAnn E. Horstman, 59, of Maple Grove are today (Wednesday), Aug. 2, 2000, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Ave. N. Brooklyn Park.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Horstman died Sunday, July 30, in Robbinsdale.

She was born Oct. 17, 1940 at Watkins.

Mrs. Horstman taught for 25 years at Maple Lake Elementary School Dist. 881. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lucille Hochstedler.

Survivors include her husband John W.; son, Jay of Maple Grove; daughter, Jody of Howard Lake; brother, David Hochstedler of St. Michael; sisters, Donna Mae Becker of Plymouth, Lisa Ruhland of New Hope and Sherry Hochstedler of St. Paul; grandchildren, Lindsey Marie, Nicole, Zachary, Tyler and Angela.

Janice Kennedy

Janice Mae Kennedy, 43, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 23, 2000.

Services were Saturday, July 29, 2000 at 11 a.m. Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church, 5100 James Ave. N.

Interment was in Crystal Lake Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Andrew Kennedy; son, Andrew Kennedy Jr., both of Maple Grove; daughters, Bertina Dixon, of Minneapolis, LaTasha Key of Brooklyn Park, Andreaua Kennedy, of Maple Grove; mother, Alice Neal of Minneapolis; foster sister, Aya Kamara, of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Shawnequa and Marcellous Dixon; grandson-to-be, Adrian Kennedy; a host of relatives and relatives and friends.

Jody John Austin

Funeral services for Jody John Austin, 40, of Champlin, were Wednesday, July 19, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Osseo.

Mr. Austin was born March 13, 1960 in Crosby, Minn., and he died Friday, July 14, in Merrifield, Minn.

He is survived by his wife Lori; sons Michael, Joseph and Thomas; mother Gertrude; brother Dennis (Tammy); father Paul (Ann Durette); sister in law Teresa (David) Groska; brother in law Stephen Durette; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Melvin; brother Melvin Jr. and sister Julie.

Marian S. Gudridge

Services for Marian S. Gudridge, 77, formerly of Delano, were Wednesday, July 26, 2000 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Ft. Myers, Fla.

Mrs. Gudridge died at home July 22, under the loving care of her family and Hope Hospice. She was born in Delano to Raymond and Agnes (Gleason) Shanahan.

She attended the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph and the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. She had 50 years of experience as a registered nurse. During World War II, she was a civil service secretary in Monticello, Minn., Newport, Ark. and Selfridge Field, Mich. She was active in Brandywine Condominium activities by serving on the board of the women's association and most recently was secretary of the Brandywine Garden Club. She was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church.

Mrs. Gudridge is survived by Ernest, her husband of 52 years; daughter, Kathleen of Ft. Myers; son, Patrick (Kay) of Miami, Fla. and grandson, Steven of Washington, D.C. and sisters, Colleen Kridle of Denver, Colo. and Dianne Calderwood of Kitchener, Ontario.

She was preceded in death by son, Brian, in 1964.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Hope Hospice or the Brandywine Garden Club Remembrance Garden.

Ellen Holmgren

Services for Ellen M. Holmgren, 55, of Champlin were Saturday, July 29, 2000 at Emmanuel Christian Center, 7777 University Ave. N.E..

Burial was in Morningside Cemetery, Coon Rapids.

Mrs. Holmgren died Thursday, July 27, in Champlin.

She was born Nov. 6, 1944 in Minneapolis.

She attended Emmanuel Christian Center.

Survivors include her husband Arnold; sons, Richard J. of Maple Grove and Douglas J.(Darla) of St. Bonifacius and grandchildren, Alicia and Zachary.

Marguerite Elizabeth Lundeen

Services for Marguerite Elizabeth Lundeen of Delano were Tuesday, July 25, 2000 at the United Methodist Church in Delano.

Rev. James Beard officiated and interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale.

Pallbearers were Eric Luehrs, Walter and Vincent Lundeen, Ted Henson, Peter and Wade Thommen, Dan Nye and Scott Nelson.

Mrs. Lundeen died Thursday, July 20, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. She was born in Escanaba, Mich. to Theodore and Ruth (Magnuson) Vannberg. She was married to Carroll Lundeen.

She was a loyal wife and partner of 50 years, a business woman, a long-term care giver in the community and a constant needle worker.

Mrs. Lundeen was preceded in death by parents and sisters, Bernice Eis and Viola Bureau. She is survived by husband, Carroll; son, John (Donna) Walker of Golden, Colo.; daughters, Gail Lundeen (Ron) Brand of St. Paul and Kay (Paul) Ling of Sugar Land, Texas; grandchildren, Nora Brand, Shannon Elizabeth Ling, Ellen Elizabeth Brand, Tommy Ling and Lauren Elizabeth Lundeen.

Clifford R. Olson

Services for Clifford R. Olson, 88, of Maple Plain, formerly of Cambridge, were Wednesday, July 26, 2000 at Lyndale Lutheran Church in Independence.

Rev. Lyndon Nygaard officiated and interment was in the Delano Public Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Archie Olson, Jr., Kermit Olson, Jr., Wayne Olson, Clayton Olson, Allen Olson, Allen Ramola, Roger Ramola, Craig Olson, Jack Daughty and Matt Mueller.

Mr. Olson died Sunday, July 23, at his residence. He was born April 28, 1912 to Fred W. and Hulda (Lindquist) Olson in Springvale Township in Minnesota. He was married to Jeanie Mae McCabe.

Mr. Olson was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister and one grandson.

He is survived by wife, Jeanie; daughter, Judy (George) Ramola; grandchildren, Jason and Jennifer Ramola; brothers, Kermit Olson, Warren (Shirley) Olson and Wallace (Joyce) Olson and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara Louise Polingo

Services for Barbara Louise Polingo, 63, of Montrose were Wednesday, July 19, 2000 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Jim Coghill-Elstan and Rev. Thomas Boedy were the celebrants. Pallbearers were children, John Polingo, Laurence Polingo, Tony Polingo, Steven Polingo, Brian Polingo and Jennifer Polingo.

Mrs. Polingo died Friday, July 14, 2000 at her Woodland Township residence. She was born April 20, 1937 to Donald and Elizabeth (Smith) Coghill in Jordan, Minn. She was married to Edward John Polingo at St. John the Baptist Church April 27, 1957 in Jordan.

She and her husband farmed in Woodland Township for 43 years. Her life was dedicated to raising her family and helping run the family farm.

She is survived by husband, Edward "Dad" Polingo; children, Marlene E. (Jim) Kittock of Delano, Patricia A. (Richard) Zieske of Delano, John C. (Lynda) Polingo of Minnetrista, Laurence E. (Theresa) Polingo of Delano, Anthony T. Polingo of Montrose, Carol J. (Gary) Schmidt of Waukesha, Wis., Steven J. Polingo of Montrose, Elizabeth A. Polingo and Steven Berthiaume of Park Rapids, Brian K. (Kim) Polingo of Becker and Jennifer B. Polingo of Montrose; 27 grandchildren; brothers, Fr. Jim Coghill-Elstan of Indian River, Mich., and Jesse (Laverne) Coghill of Jordan; sisters, Mary Berry of Shakopee and Joan (Raymond) Lyrek of Chetek, Wis., and brother-in-law, Joseph Fahey of Waconia.

She was preceded in death by son, Baby Boy Polingo; sisters, Blanche Fahey and Helen Coghill; infant brother, Joseph Coghill and brother-in-law, Jesse Barry.

Kenneth E. Ulen

Funeral services for Kenneth Elmer Ulen, 57, of Champlin, formerly of Sacred Heart were Tuesday, July 25, 2000 at Gearhart Anoka Chapel. He died July 21, after a recent diagnosis of lung cancer and long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Ulen worked for 40 years as an auto mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Ulen and his mother, Lillian Ulen.

Mr. Ulen is survived by his wife Marlene; children Brian and Lynn Ulen, Rod and Jeri Ulen, Ann and Lonnie Tangen, and Avis Ulen; grandchildren Danielle, Autumn, Alyson, Nathan, Cassie, and Katie; and brother Dale Ulen.

John Boese

Services for John G. "Jack" Boese, 59, of Bemidji and formerly of Crystal were Friday, Nov. 24, 2000 at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Rev. Paul Juris officiated. Mr. Boese died Sunday, Nov. 19, in Byron Township, Cass County.

He is survived by wife, Carol M. Boese; children: Teri J. Aultman, Brian L. (Janelle) Aultman, Dawn M. "Babes" (Glen) Neuburger, Kelly R. Aultman, Karen K. (Bob Wetterberg) Hill, Darin J. (Jill) Boese and Shelly A. (Gary) Losie; grandchildren, Makenzie, Jarod, Brianna and Beau; Chace, Austin and Brennen; Steve, Becky and Michael; Jacob, Skylar and Derek; mother, Mildred Boese Nelson; brothers and sisters, Tyrone "Tiny" (Rhonda) Boese, Donald "Duck" Boese, Roxanne (Roger) Stiles and Allison Boese.

Mr. Boese is preceded in death by his father, Donald M. Boese.

Elizabeth Gabrelcik

Services for Elizabeth A. "Betty" Gabrelcik, 78, of Delano were Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Thomas Boedy officiated and interment was in Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandchildren, Ricky, Todd, Tim, Jay, Troy, Jeremy and Lisa Gabrelcik, Scott and Keith Bartos, Dawn Mundahl, Melanie Myers, Vicki Hickman and Shelly Sobrin.

Mrs. Gabrelcik died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. She was born Aug. 25, 1922 to Anthony and Elizabeth (Pogreba) Schaust in Franklin Township. She was married to Richard R. Gabrelcik.

Mrs. Gabrelcik was a life-long member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano and was a member of St. Ann's Society.

She was preceded in death by husband, Richard; grandsons, John Jr. and Chad Gabrelcik and brother, Anthony Schaust.

She is survived by daughter, Shirley (Dennis) Bartos of Maple Plain; sons, Richard (Ginger) Gabrelcik of Blackduck, Jim (Bunnie) Gabrelcik of Shakopee, Jack (Karlene) Gabrelcik of Delano, Paul Gabrelcik of Delano and William Gabrelcik of Willow River; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mathilda Florek of St. Michael, Leona (George) Fake of Delano, Loren (Dorothy) Schaust of Delano, Joe (Lorraine) Schaust of Delano, Arlene (Glen) Litfin of Delano, George (Joan) Schaust of Delano, Ambrose "Bob" (Genevieve "Jean") Farniok of Delano, Leonard (Maxine) Schaust of Delano and Matt (Estelle) Schaust of Excelsior; sister-in-law, Delores Schaust of St. Michael; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
