JoAnn Nienaber

A Memorial service for JoAnn Nienaber, 54, of Maple Grove was Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000 at 10 a.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6900 Fish Lake Rd. W., Maple Grove.

Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Mrs. Nienaber died Friday, Oct. 27, in Maple Grove. She was born Aug. 14, 1946 in Aitkin.

She was preceded in death by mother and stepfather, Irene and Jim Billerbeck; father, Don Hasskamp and infant brother, Jerry Hasskamp.

Survivors include her husband Ron; daughter Amy, Linda (partner, Nancy Stocker). Special thanks to aunt Shirley and cousin Mardell for all their years of love and support.

Ruby Nystrom

Services for Ruby C. Nystrom, 82, of Osseo, formerly of Grand Rapids, were Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Osseo United Methodist Church, 16 Second Ave. S.E., Osseo.

Mrs. Nystrom died Friday, Oct. 27, in Robbinsdale. She was born Feb. 23, 1918 in Stockholm, Mn.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Laura Nystrom of Maple Grove and Michael and Janet Nystrom of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sister, Doris Young of Cokato; three grandchildren, Karin, Charles and Lisa.

Memorials may be given to the Ruby C. Nystrom Memorial Fund to be gift to the Osseo United Methodist Church and the Lupus Foundation.

Delvina Mary Peterson

Services for Delvina Mary Peterson, 88, of Rockford, were Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Delano.

Fr. Thomas Boedy was the celebrant and interment followed at the Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford.

Casket bearers were Mike Peterson, Roger Peterson, Ted Peterson, Jason Peterson, Erik Peterson, Kevin Peterson, Doug Sipe and Barry Peterson.

Mrs. Peterson died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000 at the Parkview Care Center in Buffalo. She was born April 25, 1912 in Champlin Township, the daughter of Joseph and Lillian Bourgeois Berg.

She was joined in marriage to Jesse Peterson Jan. 6, 1932 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Anoka. She was a member of the Church of St. Joseph in Delano.

Mrs. Peterson is survived by children, Arlen (Mildred) Peterson, Leroy Peterson and Rodney (Dorothy) Peterson, all of Rockford, Karen (Paul) Schlosser of Blackduck, Robert Peterson of Rockford and Jane (Gary) Anderson Peterson of Maple Plain; son-in-law, Bill Sipe of Rockford; 19 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Bandemere of Coon Rapids, Mildred Martin of Albertville, Marvel (Ray) Siebenaler and Lucille Rein, both of Shakopee and Lillian (Jerry) Rau of Chicago, Ill.; sister-in-law, Margie Reimer of Buffalo; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Jesse A. Peterson in 1990; daughter, Marilyn G. Sipe in 1996 and brothers, Gilbert and John Berg.

Mary Emma Hart-Rocheleau

Services for Mary Emma Hart-Rocheleau, 88, of Champlin and formerly of North Minneapolis, were Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Minneapolis.

She was born in Dodge Center in 1912.

She is preceded in death by husbands, Frank L. Hart and Meldon Rocheleau; parents, Ray and Emma M. Tappan; sister, Rachel Reznicek; and brother, Thurman Tappan.

She is survived by daughter, M. Carol Hart-Canon; grandchildren, Zafi S. and Carter B. Canon; great-grandchildren, Hunter W. Hall and Carson B. Canon; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Helen Scherber

Services for Helen O. Scherber, 93, of Monticello were Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000 at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Monticello, with Rev. Tim Rudolhi officiating.

Pallbearers were Joan Pelto, Patti Mayer, Ron, Joe and Jeff Michaelis and Kevin Scherber.

Mrs. Scherber died early Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000 at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

She was born May 13, 1907 in St. Michael to the late Joseph and May (Gutzwiller) Enders, and grew up on a farm near St. Michael. She married Elmer Michaelis July 31, 1928, and they lived in Minneapolis for 14 years. Then they moved to a farm in the Buffalo area. In 1960 they moved to Monticello. She was a member of the St. Henry's Catholic Church. She worked at Wonderalls for 22 years and retired in 1974.

Her first husband Elmer M. Michaelis died Feb. 20, 1962. In 1976 she married Harold Scherber and he preceded her in death Feb. 1, 1986.

Survivors are sons, Virgil (Jean) Michaelis and Ronald (Agnes) Michaelis, all of Monticello. A son, Wallace Michaelis also preceded her in death from Center City.

Also surviving are step-children, Dale and Marlene Scherber from Rogers, Darlene and Jerry Weber from Bemidji, and Diane Scherber of Minneapolis; one sister, Philomina Schug of St. Theresa Home in New Hope; a sister-in-law, Anne Schmidt of Hastings; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson born in 2000; and several nieces and nephews.

Laura Scheuble-Owen

Services for Laura K. (Lollie), 77, of Maple Grove were Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 10025 Hwy. 101, Corcoran.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Survivors include her husband, Harry; children, Susan, Gerald and Jack; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Janet Shult

Services for Janet Ann Shult, 58, of Buffalo, long time kindergarten teacher at Osseo Dist. 279 Crestview Elementary and Rice Lake Elementary School were Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, in Buffalo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Edith Bartko.

Survivors include her husband, Edward H. Shult; a son, Edward A. Shult of Buffalo; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Ken Kavanagh of Murdock and Merle and Wanda Shult of Edina; seven nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Jake Adams

Services for Jake Zachary Adams, 19, of rural Monticello were Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000 at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. The service leader was Jim Meyer (Mr. Adams' godfather and uncle).

Mr. Adams died accidentally Sunday, Oct. 15.

He was born on June 3, 1981, in Minneapolis, the son of John H. and Cheryl Hartwick Adams.

He graduated from Monticello High School in 2000.

He loved snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, camping, playing hockey, music and being with his family and friends.

Mr. Adams is survived by his parents, John H. and Cheryl Adams of Monticello; a brother and sisters, Clint, Katie, Kristi and Alison, all at home; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Fern Hartwick of Bloomington; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Margaret Adams.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested.

Ross Dunham

Private services for Ross Dunham, 77, of Maple Grove were at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Dunham died peacefully at his home Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000 after a dignified and brave battle with cancer.

He was a World War II Naval pilot. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in mechanical and aeronautical engineering. He retired as president and chief engineer after 34 years at Boustead Electric and Manufacturing Co.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janet; children, Barbara, Catherine, Gordon and Kent (Mary Beth); grandchildren, Abbie and Christopher; many relatives and friends.

Memorials preferred to donor's choice.

Harold Gustafson

Services for Harold G. Gustafson, 91, of Maple Grove were Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000 at First Lutheran Church of Crystal, 7708 62nd Ave. N., Brooklyn Park.

Burial was in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Gustafson was a long time active member of Painters Local 386 and The Plymouth Gun Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen.

Survivors include children and spouses, Mary Ann and Lee Solberg, Jack and Betty Gustafson and Bette Gustafson; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Gertrude Dahlstorm and other relatives in Sweden.

Memorials preferred to First Lutheran Church of Crystal, where he was an active member.

Earl Grover

Services for Earl Grover, 75, of Rockford, were Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover.

Mr. Grover died unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 14.

He was born Oct. 17, 1925, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Earl and Viola Guenther Grover Sr.

On Aug. 11, 1946, Mr. Grover and Lucille Hanson were joined in holy marriage in Alberta.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. He was also a charter member of the Hanover Lions Club and a former member of the Red Vest bowling team. He had many interests including football, softball, bowling, gardening and playing cards.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lucille E. Grover; daughters, Linda (Tom) Flannery of Hanover and Lisa (Jim) Barsness of Buffalo; grandchildren, Daniel, Kevin and Kelly Flannery; brother, Robert (Judy) Grover of Corcoran; other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Viola Grover Sr.; and by an infant daughter, Beverly.

Herbert Schaufler

Services for Herbert S. (Herb) Schaufler, 68, of Maple Lake were Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake.

The Rev. Stan Kozlak officiated. Pallbearers were John Anderson, Phil Mooney, Don Bruns and Norbert, Joe and Jerry Schaufler. Music was provided by St. Timothy's Resurrection Choir.

Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Schaufler died Monday, Oct. 16, in Maple Lake.

Herbert Sylvan (Herb) Schaufler was born March 16, 1932 in Maple Lake to the late Louis V. and Caroline A. (Theis) Schaufler. He graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1950. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He farmed, owned a small engine repair business, and also worked for Mooney Bus Service in Maple Lake for 41 years. He lived in Maple Lake all his life where he was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church. He enjoyed his family, working on engines, and his dog named Monkey.

He is survived by a sister and brother- in- law, Marjorie and Ray Eull of St. Michael, nieces and nephews, Elroy (Kathy) Eull, Arlene Eull, Charles (Theresa) Eull, LaDonna Eull, and Lisa Eull and great nephew, Jeremiah Eull.

Terry Bovee

Terry Glenn Bovee, age 52, of Champlin died peacefully Oct. 3.

He is survived by mother, Lovina T. Bovee; sisters, Joy Olsen and Bonnie Schroeder, children, Maiya Bovee, Zhacques Bovee, Cheriee Bovee, and Wendy Efriem; grandchildren, Dayton and Kathea.

He is preceded in death by his love of 28 years, Deborah.

Odell Dube

Services for Odell Martin Dube, 82, of Brooklyn Park were Monday, Oct. 16, 2000 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Brooklyn Park.

Burial was at St. Francis Cemetery, Buffalo.

Mrs. Dube died Friday, Oct. 13, in Brooklyn Park. She was born Jan. 16, 1918 in Albertville.

Mrs. Dube was a mother, wife, grandmother, sister, comedian, dancer and artist.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis; sons, John and Thomas; daughter Patricia Serbus; brothers, Emery Martin, Richard Martin and Willard Martin.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Ronda, James and Deborah, Brian and Kenneth and Billi; daughters and son-in-law, George and Thomas Germaine, Cynthia and Teresa; brothers, Cyril Martin, Cam Martin, Earl Martin and Edmond Martin; sisters, Sylvia Bandle, Adeline Weber, Maude Gardner, Elaine Mead, Marcella Weber and Rose Cyr; 25 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and angel Wendy.

Roman Friendshuh

Services for Roman J. Friendshuh, 86, of St. Michael were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at St. Michael Catholic Church. Presiders were Rev. Adam Bunnell, Rev. Leonard Siebenaler and Deacon Maynard Warne.

Casket bearers were Gary Kilian, Joe Daleiden, Paul D. Kessler, Tim Thiessen, Jeremy Bebeau, Brian Friendshuh, Jeff Heuring, Matt Barthel, Jim Beheba and Lee Friendshuh.

Mr. Friendshuh died Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Buffalo Hospital.

He was born March 7, 1914, in Bloomington, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Doerfler Friendshuh.

On Oct. 7, 1936 Mr. Friendshuh and Clara Knapp were joined in holy marriage at the Assumption Catholic Church in Richfield. God blessed their marriage with 12 children.

Mr. Friendshuh engaged in dairy farming near St. Michael for many years.

He was a faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4174 and the Catholic Aid Association.

Mr. Friendshuh is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Clara C. Friendshuh; his children, Ramona (Meiny) Daleiden of Zimmerman, Charlotte (Bob) Kilian of St. Michael, Martha Friendshuh of St. Paul, Joyce (Paul) Kessler of Coon Rapids, Nancy (William) Hobbs of Libby, Mont., Linda (David) Bebeau of Dayton, Frank (Ann) Friendshuh of Clear Lake, Wis., Joan (Jerry) Heuring of Nevis, Barbara (John) Barthel of Monticello, Pat Friendshuh of Big Lake, Gale (Mark) Kessler of Albertville and Michael (Lisa) Friendshuh of St. Michael; 51 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren; a brother, Claud (Mary Ann) Friendshuh of Shakopee; sisters, Louise Haeg and Marie Donahue, both of Minneapolis, and Evelyn Swanson of Sacramento, Calif.; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Friendshuh; a grandchild; a great-grandchild; and by 11 brothers and sisters.

Memorials are suggested to Sister Pat de Blieck's Ministry in Mission, Texas.
