Ruth C. Murnane

Services for Ruth C. Murnane, 85, of Buffalo, formerly of Delano, were Friday, Sept. 22, 2000 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Forest City.

Fr. Patrick Casey was the celebrant and interment was in St. Gertrude Cemetery.

Mrs. Murnane died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000 at the Park View Care Center. She was born Oct. 22, 1914, in Litchfield, the daughter of Thomas and Minnie O'Nell Murray.

She was joined in marriage to Timothy Murnane. The couple had one son. Mr. Murnane preceded his wife in death in 1970.

Mrs. Murnane is survived by son, Edmond Thomas (Marion) Murnane of Clearwater; granddaughter, Michele (Robert) Blake; great-grandchildren, Mike and Joe Blake, all of Big Lake; brothers, Michael (Lorraine) Murray of Mound and Thomas Murray of Litchfield.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Murnane was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Agatha Murray, Marion Griffin and Ethel Bottoma and brother, Walter Murray.

Harland R. (Dick) Noreen

Services for Harland R. (Dick) Noreen, 84, of Maple Plain were Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000 at Lyndale Lutheran Church in Maple Plain.

Rev. Lyndon E. Nygaard officiated and interment was in Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.

Casket bearers were John Kuntz, Orville Cressy, Clarence Noreen, Ken Dressel, Jim Nolan and Harry Visser. Honorary casket bearers were Harold Noreen, Stanley Noreen, Elloyd Simon, Kenny Thomas, Hilmer Hansen, Bob Wolff and Gaylen Benson.

Mr. Noreen died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. He was born Oct. 5, 1915 in Maple Plain, the son of Axel and Helen (Cressy) Noreen. He married Alice L. Kuntz June 28, 1947 at Lyndale Lutheran Church in Maple Plain by Rev. Milton Gunberg.

Mr. Noreen was preceded in death by parents, Axel and Helen Noreen and brothers, Wesley, Howard, Russel, Lawrence and Irving Noreen.

He is survived by wife, Alice; sons and daughters-in-law, Loren and Darlene Noreen of Corcoran and Jim and JoAnn Noreen of Independence; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Don Behrendt of Green Bay, Wis.; grandchildren, Andrew Behrendt, Erin Noreen, Adam Noreen and Michael Noreen; sister, Muriel Trotter of Washington; sister-in-law, Lydia Noreen of Fridley; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Martin Rioux

Services for Martin R. "Marty" Rioux, 38, of Rogers were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at St. Martin Catholic Church in Rogers.

Mr. Martin is preceded in death by parents, Dawn and Anna; and brother, David.

He is survived by sister, Maureen Rioux-Rust (Jim); brothers, John (Judy Bednarski), Pat (Cheryl), and Jim; nieces and nephews, John, David, Erin, Matthew, Erin, Tiffany, Jenna, Taylor, Kelsey, and Tara; special friends, Donna Schumm and Denny Potushek; other relatives and friends.

Davis W. Brueske

Services for Davis W. Brueske, 50, of Champlin, were Thursday May 31, 2001, at St. Gerard's Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park. Interment was at Champlin Cemetery.

Devoted husband, father and active member of the community, he devoted his life to human services such as HCMC Paramedics, Hennepin County Sheriff Emergency Squad, Champlin area Senior Transportation Coordinator and Community Cable TV Producer.

He was also a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).

Mr. Brueske quietly passed away May 25, 2001, following major surgery.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years Shirley (Pachel); son Timothy; daughter Jodie; parents Derald and Lois; brothers, Steve, Jon (Ruth), Bill (Sharon), Chuck (Kara); sisters, Elizabeth, Laura (Kyle); many nieces and nephews.

Erwin J. Dick

Services for Erwin J. Dick, 83, of Wayzata and formerly of St. Michael were Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at St. Bartholomew's Church in Wayzata.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery the following day.

Mr. Dick was born Jan. 23, 1918, and died Friday, May 25, 2001. He moved to Wayzata from St. Michael when he was a young man. He joined the Army and, after landing at Omaha Beach on D plus 4, served with the Fifth Army throughout Europe including the Battle of the Bulge, in December 1994. After returning to Wayzata, he founded Town & Country Caters in 1952. He took great pride in providing exceptional food and services to his clients and was highly regarded in the Lake Minnetonka area and across the country for his insistence on excellence. Among the guests at his parties he counted royalty, Presidents, movie stars and business leaders.

Mr. Dick loved to fish, hunt, and experience the outdoors. He built a home on the lake in Annandale and loved to be there on the weekends. He was constantly entertaining both friends and family and enjoyed hosting beautiful parties in the summer by the water.

Always active in the community, Mr. Dick was a member of many organizations: Amateur Chefs, Wayzata Chamber of Commerce, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wayzata Lions Club and others. He received numerous awards for his dedication to his community and was chosen the Wayzata Chamber's "Man of the Year" in 1990.

He was preceded in death by parents, Jacob and Elizabeth; brothers, Bob, Clarence and Victor; and sister, Delrose Therson.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Dick; son, Charles, daughter-in-law, Kathleen; grandchildren, Charles Dick, Jr. and Elizabeth Dick; sister, Pearl Oehrlein, many loving nieces and nephew.

Memorials preferred to St. Bartholomew's, North Memorial residence Hospice and the MS Society.

Leona Dunn

Services for Leona Dunn, 83, of Delano were Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Thomas Boedy officiated and interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano. Pallbearers were Ron Schmieg, Paul Schmieg, Dale Schmieg, Ken Probst, Roger Breeggeman and Tony Matter.

Mrs. Dunn died Friday, May 25, 2001, at St. Gertrude's Nursing Home in Shakopee. She was born Dec. 18, 1917, in Franklin Township, the daughter of Anthony and Lena (Hirsch) Matter.

Mrs. Dunn loved to bake and she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked for many years at the Delano Granite Works by her husband Charlie's side. The couple enjoyed more than 50 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by husband, Charles; parents, Anthony and Lena (Hirsch) Matter; brothers, Loren and Gordon Matter; and sisters, Florence Baldus, Irene Kunkel, Alice Dunn and Grace Moebius.

She is survived by daughters, Carmen Henning of Minneapolis; Mary (Richard) Schmieg of Chaska and Diane Dunn of Hopkins; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and sister, Elaine Probst of Waverly.

Steve Gabriel

Services for Steven Lee Gabriel, 49, of Osseo, were Saturday, June 2, 2001 at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 70th and Halifax Ave. N., Brooklyn Center.

Memorials preferred to Our Lady of Good Counsel Hospice.

Private family interment.

He died Monday, May 28 at Our Lady of Good Counsel.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert. Survived by mother, Mae Gabriel; brother, Tony (Denise); sister, Pat (Scott) Olson; nieces, Rhea and Annie; nephews, John; and special friends, Todd, Jeanny, Miles, Bob and Sharon.

Andy Knapper Grant

Services for Andy Knapper Grant, 44, of Delano were Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia.

Rev. Peter Peitsch officated.

Mrs. Grant died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis. She was born July 15, 1956, in Redwood Falls, Minn., the daughter of Curtis D. and Beverly E. (Scharfe) Knapper. She was baptized Aug. 26, 1956, and confirmed May 3, 1970, at Trinity Lutheran Church.

She married J. R. Grant Nov. 27, 1987 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Mrs. Grant was a Waconia High School graduate. She graduated from Normandale College and the University of Minnesota, Waseca. She was a member of the Waconia American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.

Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by grandparents, Emil and Violet Scharfe and Merle and Rosetta Knapper.

She is survived by husband, J. R. Grant; sons, Levi and Samuel Grant; parents, Beverly and Curtis Knapper of Waconia; brother, Paul Knapper of Lonsdale; sister and brother-in-law, Rita Rae and Edward Molnar of Carver; nephew, Drew; uncles and aunts, Merlin and Jeanette Scharfe of Penfield, N.Y. and Ardyce Munson of Phoenix, Ariz.; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Edward McLain

A Scottish Wake for Edward McLain, 75, of Rockford was Saturday, June 2, 2001, in Blaine.

Mr. McLain is survived by wife, Ardell; daughters, Lynn (Ric Johnson), Margaret (in Heaven), Karen (Jimi Nourie), Kimberly (Mark McDonald), and Shannon; sons, Daniel (Beth), Mark (Fay), Steven (Jane), Brett and Brad; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and by many relatives and by many relatives and friends.

Veronica M. Motzko

Services for Veronica M. Motzko, 95, of Watertown were Friday, May 25, 2001, at St. Mary's of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. James Livingston officated and interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Joe Motzko, John Motzko, Gary Motzko, Ron Motzko, Tim Motzko and Ken Leuthner.

Mrs. Motzko died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Westwood Place in Watertown. She was born Feb. 6, 1906, the daughter of Frank and Julia Florek of Watertown. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's of Czestochowa and attended Pearson School. She married John L. Motzko of Delano Nov. 23, 1926. The couple had four children and farmed in rural Delano for many years.

Mrs. Motzko was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son Gordon and son, Joe, who died in infancy.

She is survived by son, James (Geraldine) Motzko of Watertown; daughter, Geraldine Motzko of Buffalo; daughter-in-law, Jean Motzko of Watertown; 14 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Muriel Ramthun

Services for Muriel Ramthun, 59, of Montrose were Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montrose.

Pastor Robert J. Hellmann officiated and interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Crawford Lake.

Casket bearers were Paul Horsch, Scott Duske, Joe Mauk, Greg Duske, Terry Knop and Doug Duske.

Mrs. Ramthun died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia following a valiant 15-year battle against cancer. She was born March 24, 1942, in Waverly, the daughter of Herbert and Helen Mahlstedt Duske. She was baptized May 17, 1942, and confirmed in the Christian faith July 1, 1956, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montrose.

She graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1960. She was joined in marriage to James Ramthun Nov. 18, 1961, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The couple had three daughters.

Mrs. Ramthun was a faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crawford Lake. She belonged to its Ladies Aid and was a long-time Sunday school teacher. For the last several years, she was active in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life walk.

She is survived by husband, Jim Ramthun; daughters, Ronda (Dale) Bauman of Montrose, Michelle (Bruce) Burns of Annandale and Brenda (Todd) Halstead of St. Bonifacius; grandsons, Matthew and Joshua Bauman, Jamie and Kasey Burns and Andrew and Luke Halstead; sisters and brothers, Carol (Orville) Horsch of Waverly, Stanley (Karen) Duske, Ardis Mauk and Norman (Joel) Duske, all of Montrose, Clifford (Wendy) Duske and Keith (Kathy) Duske, all of Waverly; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Darlene (Willard "Willie") Knop of Annandale, Glen (Jan) Ramthun of Bloomington and Gloria (Dick) Pageau of Montrose; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Ramthun was preceded in death by parents, Herb and Helen Duske and by brother-in-law, Ellsworth Mauk.

Jeaninne A. Cassidy

Services for Jeaninne A. Cassidy (nee Smith), 67, of Champlin, were Monday, May 21, 2001, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park. Interment is at Crystal Lake Cemetery.

Mrs. Cassidy was a graduate of North High School class of 1952. She was employed at the University YMCA. She was co-owner of Bon'Nean Wicker & Wares in Robbinsdale. She will be remembered for her kind heart and her devotion to her family.

She passed away May 17 surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Gladys C. Smith.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Don; children, Kelli (Steve) Friese, Dick, Chris and Kacie (Terry) Berglin; eight grandchildren; father, Frank Smith; brothers, Dwayne (Cathy) and Roger (Karen); and sister, Bonnie Yurch.

Memorials are preferred to Twin Cities Hospice.

Doyle W. Harvego

Services for Doyle W. Harvego, 56, of Champlin, were Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at the Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

He was a member of Machinists Union Local #737 and Mpls. Board of Realtors.

Mr. Harvego is survived by his wife Linda; children, Kelly (Grant) Knox, Patrick Harvego, Paula Harvego; grandchildren, Madison Marie Harvego, Meghan Mackenzie Knox; brother Floyd (Jean) Harvego; sisters, Blanch (Vernon) Doran, Luella (Ed) Olzanowski, Marie Vest; many nieces & nephews.

Lori Heinrich

A memorial service for Lori (Martinson Rutledge), 58, of Maple Grove, formerly of St. Louis Park, was Thursday, May 24, 2001 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota.

She died Saturday, May 19, at home with her family.

Mrs. Heinrich was preceded in death by father, mother, and sister, Kae.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; children, Rick Gunderson (Cindy), Coos Bay, Ore.; David Rutledge (Lexi), Brooklyn Center and Lisa Brotzler (Andy), Andover; siblings, Burt Martinson (Mary Jo), Maple Grove, Darlene Morrefield (Larry), Naperville, Ill.; granddaughter, Tanna Southard, North Bend, Ore.; nieces, Jo Ellen, Elizabeth, Kathy, Karla, Margo; nephew, Michael; Bill Senior's son, Bill Heinrich Jr. (Roxanne); kitty, Taffy Marie; and many friends.

Memorials preferred to family.
