Services for Richard K. Bates, 77, of Maple Grove were Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 7301 Bass Lake Rd. Crystal.

Burial was at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.

He was a World War II veteran and longtime employee of Onan Corporation. He enjoyed woodworking and travel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Bates and Mildred Bates-Larson; sisters, Rolene and Dolores Bates.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Margaret; daughters, Evelyn (Bob) Younglove, Nancy (Dennis) DeVries and Valerie Hanson; son, Michael (Kelley) Bates; grandchildren, Lynn (Ulrich), Julie, Chris, Jenny, Amy and Katie Margaret; great-grandchildren, Nikki, Hannah and Tate Richard; brother, Dale (Marlys) Bates; nieces, nephews and special friends.

Memorials preferred to Hospice of the Lakes, or St. Raphael's.

Michael Donald Johnson

Services for Michael Donald Johnson, 50 of Longville, were Thursday, April 19 at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Longville.

Mr. Johnson was born June 6, 1950, in Minneapolis to Donald and Nora Johnson. He attended school in Anoka. He worked at Onan Corp. after school. he married Connie Hemsworth Jan. 23, 1970. They lived in Anoka for two years and moved to Longville in 1972. He worked as a plumber with his father-in-law and was self-employed for the last 20 years.

He died Monday, April 16, in his home.

Survivors include his wife Connie; parents Donald and Nora of Champlin; son Jeff of Eau Claire, Wisc.; daughter Jennifer Lyn Stefan of Ham Lake; four grandchildren; three brothers Donald Johnson II of St. Michael, Tim Johnson of Milaca, and Scott Johnson of Coon Rapids; two sisters Nancy Patenaude of Champlin and Denise Blanchard of Maple Grove.

Blake Poyer

Services for Blake Thomas Poyer, 18, of Maple Grove will be Thursday, April 26, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Maple Grove Lutheran Church, County Rd. 30 and Elm Creek Pkwy., Maple Grove.

Private interment.

Blake died April 22. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Drena and Vic Poyer.

Survivors include his parents, John and Julie Poyer; sister, Paige and "Dixie dog"; grandparents, Mary (Avis) Ritland; many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends, and special friend, Deb Repasky.

Memorials preferred to the Children's Foundation Pulmonary Research Fund, or Maple Grove Lutheran Church Foundation.

Mayme Rajala

Services for Mayme S. Rajala, 80, of Osseo, formerly of Bigfork, will be Monday, April 30, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Bigfork Lutheran Church.

Pastor John Sebentsfeldt will officiate.

Private interment in Bigfork.

Mrs. Rajala died Monday, April 16, at North Ridge Care Center in New Hope.

She was born Feb. 11, 1915, in Kettle River the daughter of Isaac and Jennie (Holmi) Isaacson.

She married Hubert W. Rajala Dec. 24, 1937. She moved to Effie in 1936, and farmed along side her husband birthing calves, baling hay and preparing meals for haying crews. She personified the Finnish strength of character, Sisu. She was a homemaker and active member of the Effie Freidheim Lutheran Church, and a member of the ALCW. She moved to Condor Apartments in Bigfork in 1991 and later to Steeple Point in Osseo in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert W. Rajala.

Survivors include daughters Yvonne (Dennie) Sharp, and Sharon (Ed) Reese; grandchildren, Kelly (John) Sweigert, Kyle (Patty) Sharp, Jennifer Lundbald (Eric Emmette) and Andy (Kris) Lundbald; great-grandchildren, Alex and Sammi Sweigert, Nate and Megan Sharp and Ben and Hannan Lundblad; brothers, Isaacson, Walter, Arnie (Martha) Niilo (Millie), Hugo (Betty) and Waino (Violet); and many nieces and nephews.

Marcy Thienes

Services for Marcy Thienes, 77, of Rockford, formerly of Long Lake, were Thursday, April 19, 2001.

Mrs. Thienes is survived by children Sheryl Stanisich (Cubbie), Danny (Cindy), Cindy Bohannon, Dawn Grosswiler (Joe), Brian (Sue), and John (Karen); grandchildren Nicholas, Christopher, Travis, Troy, Ashley, Nolan, Kaylyn, Jeremy and Kevin; great-grandchildren Brianna, Julian and Jeremiah; and many loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in the by husband John.

Theo Weber

Jacquelyn Weber

Mass of the Angels for Theo Eugene Weber, 3, and Jacquelyn Ruth "Jackie" Weber, 22 months, of Albertville were Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at 1 p.m. at St. Albert's Catholic Church in Albertville.

Rev. Ronald Harrer, OMI was the celebrant and interment followed at St. Walburga Cemetery in Fletcher.

Cory Heuring, Dan Heuring, Kevin Justin and Adam Gelle served as Theo's casket bearers. Danielle Berning, David Berning, Derek Berning and Mitch Weber served as Jackie's casket bearers.

Tyler Justin, Ryan Justin and Monique Weber were servers for the Mass.

Theo died Tuesday, April 10, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

He was born in Buffalo Jan. 7, 1998, the son of Shawn E. and Michelle Ruth Dietzler Weber.

Theo was born again to be God's own child by the "washing of water in the Word" when he was baptized by Rev. Ronald Harrer, OMI at the St. Albert Catholic Church in Albertville Feb. 15, 1998. His baptismal sponsors were Matthew Dietzler and Paula Dietzler.

He adored golf and could not wait to get on the golf course this spring. Theo also loved playing outdoors, Toy Story movies and, of course, Grandma's Blanket.

Jackie died Saturday, April 14, at Children's Medical Center in Minneapolis.

She was born in Robbinsdale June 9, 1999, the daughter of Shawn E. and Michelle Ruth Dietzler Weber.

Jackie was born again to be God's own Child by the "washing of water in the Word" when she was baptized by Rev. Ronald Harrer, OMI at St. Albert Catholic Church in Albertville Aug. 15, 1999. Her baptismal sponsors were Marlon Weber and Elaine Weber.

She adored her books, Barney and Tele Tubbies. Jackie loved the outdoors and playing with Theo (she was her brother's shadow). She also enjoyed "being pretty" and, of course, like Theo had a strong affection for Grandma's Blanket.

Survivors include loving parents, Shawn E. and Michelle Ruth Weber of Albertville; paternal grandparents, Eugene F. and Phyllis N. Weber of Rogers; maternal grandfather, Andrew "Jack" (Diana) Dietzler of Littleton, Colo.; paternal great-grandmother, Laura C. Weber of St. Michael; maternal great-grandmother, G. Hope Dietzler of Midland, Mich.; aunts, uncles, 25 cousins, many other relatives and friends.

The children were preceded in death by their maternal grandmother, Bernadene Ruth Dietzler in 1992 and by an uncle, Roger Weber.

Marie Alm

Services for A. Marie Alm, 78, of Maple Grove, formerly of Long Lake. were Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Rettinger Funeral Home, Long Lake.

She was preceded in death by husband, Warren J.; grandson, Todd Krick; son-in-law, Bill Woodford; parents, Karl Miller and Elfreda Osmonson.

Survivors include daughters, Susan Krick and husband Terry, Nancy Sanford and husband Bob; son, John Alm; grandchildren, Chad (Marion) Krick, Scott (Michelle) Krick, Erin and Betsy Sanford; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Emilee Krick; step-grandchildren, Heather Schmid (Dan), Molly McIntyre (Jim), Daniel Sanford (Dawn); step-great-grandchildren, Emily, Grace and Ginny Schmid, Mitchell and Maggie McIntyre; Gavin and Sydney Sanford; brother, James O. Miller, sister, Ruth Schatzlein and many loving relatives and friends.

Dorothy G. Bauman

Services for Dorothy G. Bauman, 68, of Montrose were Monday, April 9, 2001, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Dale Ehrman officiated and interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano.

Pallbearers were Chris Koehnen, Pat Koehnen, Joe Marketon, Michael Motzko, David Motzko and Don Marketon.

Mrs. Bauman died at her residence Thursday, April 5, 2001, with her family at her side. She was born June 14, 1932 to John and Julia (Fautsch) Marketon in Middleville Township. She was married to Ralph L. Bauman. The couple settled on a dairy farm between Delano and Montrose.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved flowers, dancing, bowling, playing cards and eating out. But most of all, she loved the Lord. In her final hours, all she had left was her love for her family and for the Lord.

Mrs. Bauman is survived by sons, DeWayne (Bev) Bauman and John (Barb) Bauman; daughters, Sue Jacobs, Laurie (Mark) Motzko, Kathy (Brad) Koenecke and Becky (Scott) Estby; grandchildren, Allison and Abby Bauman, Jennifer, Christopher and Patrick Koehnen, Michael and David Motzko, Nicole, Laura, Kari and Anna Koenecke, Reid, Jaci and Blaine Bauman and Ben, Becca and Brady Estby; brothers, George (Jean) Marketon, Joe (Agnes) Marketon, Don (Paulette) Marketon and Clarence (Rena) Marketon; sisters, Frances Czanstkowski, Anna (Herb) Wehle, Irene (Ron) Russ, Gladys (Larry) Broll and Marie (Herb) Kapsner and Joan (Jeff) Johnson.

She was preceded in death by husband, Ralph in 1995; parents, John and Julia Marketon and brothers, Anthony Marketon and Leroy Marketon.

Hattie J. Biese

Services for Hattie J. Biese, 92, of Rockford Township were Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford.

Pastor Andrew Krause officiated and interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. Grandsons served as the casket bearers.

Mrs. Biese died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. She was born Jan. 6, 1909, in Rockford Township, the daughter of Albert and Alvina (Bethke) Schleif.

She was baptized April 4, 1909, and confirmed Aug. 27, 1922, by Pastor William Beisewanger at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. She was joined in marriage to Herbert Beise Oct. 4, 1928, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. Pastor Beisewanger officiated at the wedding ceremony. The couple engaged in farming in Rockford Township for more than 50 years. Mr. Beise preceded his wife in death Oct. 12, 1990.

Mrs. Beise was a faithful member of Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford and was an honorary member of its Cross LIGHTS. She also belonged to the Delano and Rockford Township Senior Citizens and to the Dickinson Club for more than 60 years.

She is survived by children, Mayella Yonak and Arvella Veches, both of Buffalo, Dennis (Janet) Beise of Delano, Duane (Rita) Beise of Loretto and Kenneth (Sharon) Beise of Buffalo; daughter-in-law, Judy Beise of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Susan (Dan) Hudek, Sharon (Jim) Kaufman and Nancy Yonak, Jerry Veches, Connie Ertel and Diane Veches, Sarah Beise and Kristin Beise and fiancee, Will, Steven (Gayle) Beise, John (Julie) Beise, Michael (Tammy) Beise, Grant Beise and Matthew Beise, Douglas (Deborah) Beise, Barbara Beise and fiancee Jaime and David (Laura) Beise, Tracy (Tim) Hettwer, Trista Beise and Troy Beise; great-grandchildren, Karie (Gerry) Giebenhain, Jodie (Ryan) Nowak, Stacie Hudek, Kaylie Hudek, Justin Kaufman and Rayna Kaufman, Kelly (Gordon) Wurm and Kyle Ertel, Amanda Beise, Eric Beise, Nicholas Beise, Alex Beise, Zachary Beise, Ashley Beise and Benjamin Beise; great-great-grandchildren, Greg Giebenhain, Shayann Nowak, Andrew Nowak and Macy Wurm; sister, Edith Kettenacker of Rockford; sister-in-law, Florence Schlief; brother-in-law, Herman Droneck, both of Buffalo; many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Beise was preceded in death by parents; son-in-law, Preston Yonak March 6, 1990; son, Donald W. Beise Sept. 6, 1990; son-in-law, Donald Veches Dec. 11, 1999; brothers, Ernest, Edward, Clarence and Albert and sisters, Ella Schmidt and Olga Droneck.

Lauren J. Dahlheimer

Services for Lauren J. Dahlheimer, 71, of Dayton are 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at St. John the Baptist Church in Dayton.

Interment is at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Anne Foley.

She is survived by her sons, Dominic (Deb) and Byron (Gabriela); daughters, Lucy (Harlan) Holmes, Colleen (Steve) Tompkins, Paula (Scott) Liptak and Jennine (Paul) Klosterman; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Vernon, Fr. Ronald and Louis (Alverna) Dahlheimer; and sister, Sr. Corrine, SSND.

Andrew Donald

Memorial services for Andrew D. Donald, 73, of Maple Grove, formerly of Dayton, were Saturday, March 31, 2001, at 3 p.m. at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., in Brooklyn Center.

Burial was in Mound Cemetery, Brooklyn Center.

Mr. Donald died peacefully Tuesday, March 27, at his home. He was born April 22, 1927, in Burns Township.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lila Donald; son, Jerry (Susan); daughters, Bonnie and Debbie (Bud); sister, Martha Hammer; brothers, Conrad (Marrion), Richard (Neva); sister-in-law, June Bell; brother-in-law, Gordon (Joanne) Sandahl; special buddy, Ryan; grandchildren, Cory and Jae (Amy); great-granddaughter, Abigail; many nieces, nephews and many other close friends and neighbors.

Memorials may be given to the Heart, Lung or Diabetes Foundation of choice.

Roger Griffin

A memorial gathering for Roger A. Griffin, 68, of Maple Grove will be Saturday, May 19, at noon at the Tamarack Center, 133 N> Brown Rd., Long Lake.

All friends invited. Private interment.

Mr. Griffin was a longtime member of AA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Helen.

Survivors include children, Kelly Ann, Patrick and Michael; brother, Jack; sister Terryl Johnson and many loving relatives and friends.

Thomas Lloyd Peterson

A celebration of life for Thomas Lloyd, 64, of Champlin, was conducted Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Peterson-Stohlberg Hillside Chapel in Minneapolis.

Mr. Peterson graduated from South High in 1954, from the University of Minnesota in 1960 and was in the Army Reserves.

He married Carol Cassidy September 1961. He was employed for 33 years with the Hennepin County Highway Department, retiring in 1993. He played softball for 25 years, was a member of the Minneapolis Umpires Association for 15 years and officiated six national tournaments. He loved fishing at his lake home, many vacations, time shared with family and friends, golfing, and his winter home in Florida.

Mr. Peterson died Jan. 19, 2001.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Leona.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Kelly (Frank) and Mike; grandchildren, Holt and Halli; sister, Pat (Ron) Goodman; uncle, Jim (Rose) Carter; and many friends and relatives.

Memorials are preferred to Hospice of Lake & Sumter.
