Glenn A. Houser

Services for Glenn A. Houser, 59, of Champlin, were Thursday, March 15, 2001, at the Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel in Coon Rapids.

Mr. Houser died March 12.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; children, Renee (Tracy) Lovelien and Glenn "Butch" (Amy) Houser; and two grandchildren, Samantha Rochat and Joshua Lovelien.

Myron J. "Mike" Oswald

Services for Myron "Mike" Oswald, 69, of Buffalo were Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville.

Rev. Michael Trask officiated and interment followed at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Angela Nelson, Brenda Krestin, Ann Steele, Cindy Manthei, Kathryn "Katie" Kallunki, Kasey Kallunki, Megan Engstrom and Anthony "Tony" Engstrom served as honorary casket bearers.

Danny Holland, Brandon Holland, Ronnie Peterson, Paul Schulz, Dave Heinz, Tom Schulz and Harold Bauermeister served as the casket bearers.

Mr. Oswald died Thursday, March 8, 2001.

He was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Corcoran the son of Jacob and Frieda Oswald and was baptized March 20, 1932.

He was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith in 1946 by Rev. E. Schroeder at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran.

Mr. Oswald graduated from Buffalo High School in 1950 and later honorably served his country in Korea in the United States Army.

On May 11, 1960, he was joined in holy marriage to Susanne Thielman at the Church of St. Benedict in Avon. God blessed their marriage with four daughters. He farmed for many years in both Hennepin and Wright counties.

He was a faithful member of Life in Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville and belonged to American Legion Post #270 in Buffalo.

Mr. Oswald enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre. He also liked tractor pulls, hunting, fishing and his dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Susanne Oswald; daughters, Carol (Leslie) Kallunki of Clearwater, Jennifer (Ron) Engstrom of St. Michael, and Julie Oswald and Christine Oswald, both of Buffalo; grandchildren, Kathryn "Katie" Kallunki and Kasey Kallunki, and Megan Engstrom and Anthony "Tony" Engstrom; sisters, Muriel Schulz of Osseo, Caroline (Melvin) Kobow of Hutchinson and Elizabeth "Liz" Loeffler of Loretto; brother, James (Rose) Oswald of Princeton; and his pets he loved, Max, Lucy, Kirby and Lily.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Frieda; parents-in-law, Albert and Clara Thielman; and by brothers-in-law, Milan Schulz and Clarence Loeffler.

Rubie Peterson

Services for Rubie Dorothy Ann Peterson, 73, of Rogers were Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

Pastor Dennis K. Strong officiated.

Jan Nelson was the organist for the funeral service. "Amazing Grace-How Sweet the Sound," "How Great Thou Art" and "On Eagles' Wings" were sung as congregational hymns.

Scott Peterson, Rob Peterson, Duane DeMarre, Jerry Thoreen, Jim Nelson and Pete Lindgren served as casket bearers.

Burial followed at the Hanover Village Cemetery.

Mrs. Peterson died Saturday, March 10, 2001 at the Buffalo Hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1928 in Shafer Township, Chisago County, the daughter of Andrew J. and Edith Peterson Swenson.

She was baptized by Pastor Martin Larson at the Almelund Lutheran Church May 1, 1928. She was instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in Swedish by Pastor M. Holmberg at the Almelund Lutheran Church Aug. 31, 1942.

She graduated from high school in Taylors Falls and was the class valedictorian.

On June 9, 1946, Rubie Swenson was joined in holy marriage to Lloyd A. Peterson at the Chisago Lakes Lutheran Church in Center City. God blessed their marriage with four sons.

Mrs. Peterson was employed as a cook at the Red Rooster Lounge and Restaurant in Long Lake for more than 20 years.

She was a faithful member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield and active in its Ladies Aid. She was also very involved in her son Harlan's ARC and in the St. Michael Foundation.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Lloyd A. (Pete) Peterson; parents, a grandson Mark Ronald Peterson on June 19, 1988, and by her brothers Melvin and Elmer Swenson.

Survivors include sons, Ronald (Lola Crawford) Peterson of Cambridge, Loren (Joyce) Peterson of Osseo, Darryl (Elaine) Peterson of Wayzata and Harlan K. Peterson of Rogers; grandchildren, Tiffany, Tessa, Rob and Scott Peterson; brother, Anfred Swenson of St. Croix Falls, Wis.; sisters, Mildred Thoreen of North Branch and Maxine (Herman) Nelson of Chisago City; sister-in-law, Marcella Swenson of Taylors Falls; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mabel Tiemann

Services for Mabel Ann Tiemann, 98, of the Park View Care Center and formerly of Osseo were Monday, March 12, 2001 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.

Rev. Loel A. Wessel officiated. Ardis Radintz was the organist for the service. "I Know that My Redeemer Lives," "Oh, How Great is Your Compassion," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art" were sung as congregational hymns.

Fred Anderson, Mike Meuleners, Todd Thun, Stephen Weinand and Dave Deuser served as honorary casket bearers.

James Keppel, Dale Keppel, Mark Tiemann, Douglas Manthei, Randall Manthei and Dave Olmscheid served as casket bearers.

Burial followed at St. John's Cemetery.

Mrs. Tiemann died Friday, March 9, 2001. She was born June 15, 1902 in Hassan Township, Hennepin County, the daughter of August and Elizabeth Whiteford Daluge.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Episcopal Church in Hassan. She was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran. Her confirmation memory verse was Isaiah 54:10.

On Nov. 11, 1925, Mabel Daluge and William Tiemann were joined in holy marriage at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran. God blessed their marriage with four children. Mr. and Mrs. Tiemann farmed in Corcoran for many years. William H. Tiemann preceded his wife in death in 1979. Mrs. Tiemann was a faithful member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tiemann was preceded in death by her parents August and Elizabeth Daluge, a son-in-law Robert Keppel, a great grandson Daniel Tiemann; four brothers William, Charles, Herman and George Daluge, and four sisters, Wilamina Dehn, Emma Vergin, Martha and Sarah Duffy.

Survivors include her children, Delrose Keppel of Golden Valley, Donna (Clarence) Oswald of St. Michael, Ronald (Kathleen) Tiemann of Buffalo and JoAnn (Elwyn) Manthei of Loretto; 12 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Helen Daluge of Albertville; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Marie Wadsworth

Services for Marie M. Wadsworth, 76, formerly of Osseo, were Monday, March 19, 2001 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brooklyn Center.

Burial was in Mound Cemetery in Brooklyn Center.

Mrs. Wadsworth died Thursday, March 15, in Elk River.

She was born Jan. 17, 1925 in Waite Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frend; sister, Nora Niskala; brothers, Edward Ingle, William Ingle, Albert Ingle, Bernie Ingle and grandson Mark James Ziebell.

Survivors include sons Steve and wife Cyndee and Ron and finance Claudia Zupon; daughters Paula Marozas and Elizabeth Ellis and husband Al; sister, Margaret Ingle; 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Memorials preferred to the Marie M. Wadsworth Memorial Fund.

Barney S. Cheeley

Services for Barney S. Cheeley, 85, of Champlin were Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Ramsey. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 27, 1916, in Foley to Patrick and Ruth Cheeley. He married Ora K. Ives and worked as a route sales man for Northern Sanitary Supply Co. and was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. He is a World War II veteran. He died Friday, March 2, 2001, at North Ridge Care Center.

Mr. Cheeley is preceded in death by his brothers Jerry, Pat and Bob; and sister Gert.

He is survived by his wife Ora; son Don (Jean) of Dayton; grandchildren Kara (Joel) Helzer, Mark; brothers Ken (Bernice) of Mesa, Ariz., Herbert, Larry (Betty) of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Mike (Judy) of St. Cloud; many other relatives and friends.

Ella Christian

Ella Christian, 84, of Rogers, died tragically Sunday, March 4, 2001, after being severely burned during a household accident the previous Friday.

Her husband, Charles "Chuck Sr." died in 1963 after a fall at a construction site. Ella stayed at home until the youngest of her eight children finished high school.

In the 1970s she began selling homes for Chuck Jr., who started Christian Realty of Rogers and built it into a widely successful realty and construction business. She continued working for Chuck until the late 1980s.

Funeral services for Mrs. Christian were Thursday, March 8, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church.

She died Sunday, March 4, at the HCMC Burn Unit. She was born April 21, 1916, in Otsego Township.

She was the eldest daughter of Arthur Joyer and Maude Martin. She was preceded in death by Charles Christian, whom she married in 1936.

She is survived by her children, Michelle (Tom) Matchie, Charles (Barb) Christian, Jeff (LaVerne) Christian, Dave Christian, Rollie (Rosann) Christian, Jeanie (Rich) Theisen, Renee Christian (Tom Thielges) and Greg (Sherry) Christian; sisters, Clarice Luther, Doris Wagner and Verna Hauan, brothers, Harvey (Edith) Joyer and Dan Joyer; 29 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

A private family interment was conducted in St. Martin's Cemetery.

Mary Eisinger

Services for Mary Eisinger, 75, of Medina were Friday, March 9, 2001, at St. George Catholic Church in Long Lake.

She is survived by her loving husband, Orlo "Bud"; children, John, Maryanne (Phillip) Prouty, Suzie (Tim) Lenzen; grandchildren, Cullen (Stacy), Nikki (Tom), Sean, Big T.J., Martin, Mary, Robbie, T.J., Noel, Jacquelynn, Marcus, Tyler and Sarah; and the entire Broderick family.

Norman Georges

Services for Norman Georges, 71, of Loretto, were Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto with Rev. Brian Fier officiating.

Interment was at the church cemetery. The pallbearers were Roger Georges, Alice Stoddard, Ryan Koch, David Ghostley, Brent Koch, Chris Arens, Richard Lansing. The honorary pallbearers were Jeff Georges, Judy Georges, Matt Georges and Kelly Koch.

Mr. Georges died Sunday, March 4, at his residence.

He was born to Nicholas and Christine (Otten) Georges in St. Michael July 15, 1929. He was married to Corinne Arens.

Mr. Georges served his country in the U.S. Army. He served on the Loretto Fire Department over 20 years, as well as serving for a period as the assistant chief.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Peter, Walter, Jerone and Harry; and one sister, Rosella.

He is survived by his wife, Corinne; two sons, Terry Georges, Scott and Joanne Georges; one daughter, Gayle and Dan Koch; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Brent, and Kelly Koch, Judy, Jeff, and Matt Georges, Richard and Tony Lansing; two brothers, Raymond and Albert; and two sisters, Marie Jamison and Viola Ende.

Arthur Heinz

Arthur F. Heinz, 70, born Nov. 19, 1930 in Litchfield died in Largo, Fla., March 3, 2001 due to complications after heart surgery.

He was owner of 10,000 Auto Parts in Crystal.

A service for Mr. Heinz was Saturday, March 10, at 1 p.m. at Church of the Immaculate Heart, Cross Lake. He brought warmth, happiness, love and laughter into the lives he touched. He was a special gift to all the knew him and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by wife, Jeanean. They resided in Maple Grove for many years before retiring to Cross Lake in 1992.

Survivors include his daughter, Julie (Roger) Paulsen of Maple Grove; son Todd Heinz of Loretto; grandchildren, Dustin, Carly Rae and Jacob; sister, Isabelle; and many nieces and nephews.

Albin H. Grandsrom

Services for Albin H. Grandsrom, 90, of Champlin, were Monday, March 12, 2001, at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home in Anoka. Interment is at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Grandsrom was born Jan. 3, 1911, and died March 5, 2001. He was a WWII veteran and served for three years in the Army Air Force.

He worked for Rydell's and then M.L. Gordons in the sash and door business until he retired in 1976. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ila; parents; and brothers, Elmer, Phil, Roy, Harry and Johnny.

He is survived by his sisters, Helen Peterson and Lillian Miller; sisters-in-law Evelyn and Connie Grandsrom and Bernice Johnson; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
