Lloyd Henry

Services for Lloyd W. Henry, 85, of Maple Grove were Monday, Feb. 19, 2001 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Corcoran.

Burial was in Rush Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Henry died Friday, Feb. 16, in Anoka. He was born in Hassan Township Feb. 26, 1915 to Frank and Grace (Kinghorn) Henry. He was a lifetime resident of Hassan Township and the Rogers area. Public School Dist. 69 provided his elementary education. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II he attended Dunwoody Institute.

He was united in marriage to Evelyn Lucille Ertel July 2, 1966. They enjoyed a long and happy life together. After 28 years of service as machinist and working in assembly he retired from FMC. Mr. Henry did electrical service work for people in the community. For 20 years or more he was caretaker for Rush Creek Cemetery. He enjoyed working in the woods and making maple syrup. The birds and wild animals brought him much enjoyment. God and nation were an important part of his life. He was active in work of the church. The Republican party played a big part in his life, working towards good government, for liberty and justice for all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Francis) Henry of Brooklyn Park, and Kay (Quentin) Henry of San Diego, Calif.; nephew, Frank Henry of Brooklyn Park; niece, Nancy (Dave) Socha of Coon Rapids; one great nephew and two great nieces.

Errol Johnson

A memorial visitation for Errol R. Johnson, 55, of Maple Grove will be Saturday, March 3, 2001, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Evans Nordby Funeral Home, 34 Second St. N.E, Osseo.

Mr. Johnson died Saturday, Feb. 24, in Maple Grove. He was born May 12, 1945 in Crookston.

He was preceded in death by his father Owen Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Stacey of Ham Lake; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Brent Gustafson of Ham Lake; mother, Rocell Johnson of Fergus Falls; brothers, Roger of Fergus Falls, David of Fergus Falls and Greg of Boston; and grandchildren, Rachel, Jordan, Nolan, Evan and Grace.

George Leerssen

Services for George David Leerssen, 73, of rural Buffalo were Friday, Feb. 23, 2001 at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford. Pastor Andrew Krause officiated and interment followed at the Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends called at the Church Thursday, Feb. 22. A Prayer Service was held Thursday evening, Feb. 22.

Janet Beise was the organist for the funeral service. "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", "Just As I Am, without One Plea", "I'm But a Stranger Here" and "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me" were sung as congregational hymns.

Mike Erickson, Gary Erickson, Jeff Erickson, Mike Woelffer, Rodney Reeve and Robert Gilbert served as the casket bearers.

Mr. Leerssen died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001 at the North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. He was born in Rockford Township on April 22, 1927 the son of George H. and Hazel Landeck Leerssen.

He was baptized by Pastor H. Meibohur at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford on June 26, 1927. He was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith by Pastor S. Baer at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church on April 6, 1941.

On June 12, 1954, George Leerssen was joined in holy marriage to Doris Erickson at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. This union was blessed with three children: David, Dennis and Susan.

Mr. Leerssen engaged in farming his entire life. He was a faithful member of Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was a former Elder and Financial Secretary at his Church.

He is surived by loving wife, Doris L. Leerssen; children, David Leerssen and Dennis (Merry) Leerssen, all of Buffalo; and Susan (Timothy) Kant of West Allis, Wis.; grandchildren, Amy, Andrew and Emily Kant, Rebekah, Jacob and Aaron Leerssen; a sister, Jean (Gerald) Woelffer of Brainerd; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Maurice (Shirley) Erickson and Darlene Erickson, all of Buffalo, and Dorothy (Les) Buckman of Robbinsdale.

He is further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father on June 3, 1990 and by his mother on May 2, 1991.

Gordon U. Miller, Jr.

Services for Gordon U. Miller, Jr., 47, of St. Francis and former Champlin resident for 32 years, were Friday, Feb. 16 at Thursday-Lindberg Funeral Home in Anoka.

Mr. Miller died Wednesday, Feb. 14.

He was a hunter, fisher and companion. He loved "up north" and being outdoors.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn; and brother, Richard.

He is survived by his father, Gordon Sr.; wife Cynthia; sons Gordon III and Nicholas; brothers Dean (Brenda), Terry, and Howard (Sherry); sisters Darilyn and Helen; uncles; aunts; cousins; nieces and nephews.

He was loved by all and will not be forgotten.

Marie Schneider

Services for Marie E. Schneider, 92, of Osseo were Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 710 E. Broadway St., Osseo.

Burial was in the Hanover Cemetery.

Survivors include her sister, Emma Lucht of Minneapolis, and other loving relatives and friends.

Memorials may be given to the Marie E. Schneider Memorial Fund.

Harold Thorsen

Services for Harold O. Thorsen, 80, of Maple Grove were Friday, Feb. 23, 2001 at DuSchane Chapel, 4239 W. Broadway, Robbinsdale.

Mr. Thorsen died peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Hospice Center of North Memorial Hospital. He was a World War II veteran, retired U.S. Postal Carrier and proud member of the American Legion Westphal Post 251. He enjoyed life and a good brandy and water.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; and sisters, Jeanette and Alice.

Survivors include his stepson, Joseph Miller and his wife Dee; sisters, Dorothy and Helen and their families; and special neighbors, Walt Eastman, Judy Lundser and Mike and Carol Hohn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to North Memorial's Hospice Center.

Elsa Waggoner

Services for Elsa Waggoner, 79, of Brooklyn Center were Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at Brooklyn United Methodist Church, Brooklyn Center.

Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

She died Saturday, Feb. 17, in Brooklyn Center. She was born Feb. 15, 1922 in Rosalie, Neb. She was a teacher throughout her life.

Mrs. Waggoner was preceded in death by her husband Glen.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Sue Waggoner of New York City and Peggy and Joseph Nylin of Maple Grove; grandchildren, Kimberly Nylin and fiancé Troy Langsdale, Daniel Nylin and Thomas Nylin; brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Berniece Lindquist of Albert City, Iowa, and nieces and nephews.

Jodi Bechtold

Jodeen Elaine "Jodi' Bechtold, age 35, of Hanover died Sunday, February 11, 2001 at Fairview Hospital in Princeton.

She was born on February 3, 1966, in Buffalo; the daughter of Wilfred and Elaine Betke Bechtold.

Jodi was baptized on February 13, 1966 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield by Pastor W. P. Haar. She also was instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on May 3, 1987 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Walter C. Davidson. Jodi's confirmation memory verse was Matthew 28:20 "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1987.

Jodi was employed through Functional Industries and had worked at various places including the Marriott Hotel in downtown Minneapolis, the Radisson Hotel in Plymouth, Dan & Jerry's Greenhouse in Buffalo, Federal Cartridge in Anoka and presently at Dental Resources in Maple Lake.

She was a lifetime member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield and belonged to the Auxiliary of American Legion Post #567 in St. Michael.

She loved her family very much. Jodi enjoyed old-time dancing, bowling, movies, playing Uno, country music and eating out.

Jodi formerly belonged to Hanover HoneyBees 4-H club and was a member for 14 years as well as a 4-H ambassador, She performed in the 4-H arts in "Share the fun skits" and in speaking contests. Jodi made several trips to the state fair with her 4-H ducks. She spoke at the Hanover Lions and at the Minnesota Down Syndrome Association Meetings. Jodi attended four Down Syndrome Youth Conventions in Cincinnati, Denver, Memphis and Minneapolis.

Between 1987 and 2000, Jodi traveled on 16 bus trips with her parents, Branson, Missouri, being her favorite because of the music.

Survived by her loving parents: Wilfred and Elaine Bechtold; brothers: Roger (Linda) Bechtold, Ronald (Millie) Bechtold and Clyde (Sandra) Bechtold; nieces and nephews: Carrie Bechtold, Julie Bechtold & friend Justin, Neil Bechtold, Shawn Bechtold, Darrin Bechtold & friend Ang, Lance Bechtold, Jason Bechtold & friend Jess and Josh Bechtold, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by a nephew, Kevin; Grandparents: Richard & Ellen Bechtold and Louis & Augusta Betke.

Funeral services for Jodi Bechtold were conducted Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Pastor Dennis K. Strong officiated and interment followed at Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

Organist for the service was Cindy Steinke. Soloist for the service was Linda Bechtold and she sang "Go My Children." Congregational hymns were "I Hear the Savior Calling", "On Eagles Wings" and "Let Us Ever Walk With Jesus."

Honorary casket bearers were Carrie Bechtold and Julie Bechtold

Casket bearers were Neil Bechtold, Shawn Bechtold, Darrin Bechtold, Lance Bechtold, Jason Bechtold and Josh Bechtold.

Clemens Becker

Clemens "Clem" Nicholas Becker, age 70, of Monticello, formerly of St. Michael, died Monday, February 12, 2001 at his residence.

Clem was born on April 17, 1930 in Hassan Township, Hennepin County, the son of Henry and Anna Mayerhofer Becker.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army.

On September 2, 1953, Clemens Becker and Mary Hofmann were joined in holy marriage at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham, Minnesota. God blessed their marriage with 10 children.

Mr. Becker engaged in dairy farming south of St Michael and also had a bulk milk route for 25 years.

Mr. Becker was a lifetime member of the Church of St. Michael He belonged to American Legion Post #567, the Knights of Columbus Council #4174 and to the St. Michael Society.

Clem was involved in St. Michael wrestling as a fan since 1973.

Clem is survived by his wife: Mary; his children: Nancy (Bruce) McAlpine of Dayton, Pat (Bill) Vetsch, Joan (Ron) Dick and Barb (Randy) Dick all of St. Michael, Steve (Roberta) Becker of Winsted, Greg (Julie) Becker of St. Michael, Annette (Kevin) Mudd of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Karen (Dan) Lefebvre of Otsego, Jeff (Sylvia) Becker of Apple Valley and Brian (Natalie) Becker of Zimmerman, twenty-six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; Brothers: Roman (Donna) Becker of St. Michael and Harold (Margaret) Becker of Long Prairie; Sisters: Dorothy (Glen) Daleiden of Brainerd, Helen Mae (Dan) Warnbelce of Marshall and Sr. Ann Becker, SSND of Brooklyn Center; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law: Eleanor Becker of St Michael, Agnes "Aggie" Becker of Monticello, Bernice Norb) Ruther of Perham, James (Liane) Holmann of Crystal, Robert (Mary) Hofmann of Perham and Netty (John) Zahler of St. Michael; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Victor, Leander and Wilfred "Willie" Becker.

Linda Sue Dahler

Services for Linda Sue Dahler, 51, of Delano, were Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano.

Mrs. Dahler died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. She was born March 21, 1949 to Hubert and Lillian (Sadoski) Myers in Youngstown, Ohio. She was a licensed daycare provider in Delano.

Mrs. Dahler is survived by sons, Kyle Dahler and Kurt (Loretta) Dahler; daughters, Kimberly (Daniel) Miller and Karrie Dahler and fiancee Adam Christensen; grandchildren, Kelly, Aubree and Destiny; sister, Muriel (Ike) Wells; brother, Floyd Myers and special friends, Gary and Dorothy Solomonson.

She was preceded in death by parents, Hubert and Lillian Myers and grandson, Dustin James Dahler.

Alfred C. Ende

Services for Alfred C. Ende, 84, of Brooklyn Park were Saturday, Feb. 17, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover.

Mr. Ende was born July 26, 1916, in St. Michael. He died Wednesday, Feb. 14, in New Hope.

Mr. Ende is survived by his wife, Viola; sons, Richard (Ann) of Ham Lake and Alfred Jr. of Brooklyn Park; daughters Beverly (Dennis) Boman of Dayton and Shirley (Clifford) Johnson of Monticello; brother, Norwin of Rogers; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred to the Alfred C. Ende Memorial Fund.

Marion Fehn

Marian Mathilda Fehn, age 86, and formerly of Rogers, died on Thursday, February 8th, 2001, at the Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River.

She was born on July 6, 1914 in Otsego, the daughter of Louis and Laura Martin Beaudry.

On June 27, 1936, Marian Beaudry and Willard J. Fehn were joined in holy marriage at St. Albert's Catholic Church in Albertville. God blessed their marriage with 12 children.

Marian was a faithful member of St. Walburga Catholic Church in Fletcher and belonged to the Christian Mothers.

Survived by children: Gordon (Cindy) Fehn, Kenneth (Barbara) Fehn, Dolores (Richard) Robeck, Dennis (Bertha) Fehn, Judy (Charles) Weber, Richard (Judy) Fehn Carol Ann DeMars & Friend Gary Miranda, Robert (Cheryl) Fehn & Cease (Russ) Haagensen; 34 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; sisters: Ora Wolff, Leona Krenn, Ellen Bouley & Sister Laurice Beaudry, OSF; a brother: Bernard (Charlotte) Beaudry; sisters-in-law: Martina Beaudry, Dorothy Beaudry & Evelyn Beaudry; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by husband: Willard J. Fehn; sons: Norman, Jerome & Gerard Fehn; grandchildren: Ronald Weber, Kathleen Weber & Jason Fehn; and by brothers; Lester, Elmer & Wilfred Beaudry.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for Marian Fehn was held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 12th at St. Walburga Catholic Church in Fletcher. Father John J. Bussmann and Father Jerome W. Fehn were the Concelebrants. Interment followed at the St. Walburga Cemetery.

Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, at the funeral home.

Special music was provided by Betty Benson.

Mass servers were Marlon Fehn, Michelle Fehn and Richard Kasper. Casket Bearers were Sarah Fehn, Troy Fehn, Paul Fehn, Greg Fehn, Mike Fehn, Gerard Robeck, Patty Rudnicki, Eric Haagensen and Mike DeMars.
