Thomas E. Casey

Services for Thomas E. Casey of Albertville were Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Washburn-McReavy DuSchane Chapel, 4239 West Broadway, Robbinsdale.

Mr. Casey is a Korean War Veteran. He is preceded in death by step-son, Ernie Arneson; parents; and two brothers.

He is survived by loving wife of 43 years, Norma; two step-sons, Allen Arneson and Michael (Carol) Arneson; two stepdaughters, Judy Wilkins and her partner, Lyle Norman, and Barbara (Vern) Hartneck; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; eight sisters and four brothers.

Donald Enghusen

Services for Donald K. Enghusen, 78, of Maple Grove were Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Hopkins United Methodist Church.

Burial was in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Enghusen died Sunday, Sept. 16. He was a longtime employee of Scott Atwater Co., Minneapolis, and recently worked for the Minneapolis Society for the Blind.

Mr. Enghusen was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Hattie Enghusen; and son, Randy Forte.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rose; sons, David (Margaret), Michael (Pennie), Brian (Anne), and Gregory; daughters, Beth (Makolle), Cheryl, and Carol (Todd); 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Steinmetz other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Roger Hamm

Services for Roger L. Hamm, 59, of Minnetonka were Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Maple Grove.

Mr. Hamm died Sunday, Sept. 16, after a lengthy battle with emphysema.

He was employed at Eaton Corp. Hydraulics Division in Eden Prairie for 25 years as the manager of information systems. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, softball, hunting, bowling and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and family at the cabin.

Mr. Hamm was preceded in death by parents, Lowell and Marjorie; brother, Wilber; and infant brother, Marlin.

Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Beverly; daughters, Brenda (Larry) Amundson and Lisa (Brad) Sharp; grandchildren, Haley, Zachary and Joshua Amundson, and Madison, Rachel Cassidy and Lindsey Sharp; other family and friends.

Memorials preferred to the American Lung Association.

Donald A. Hissam

Services for Donald A. Hissam, 75, of Delano were Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at the residence of Mark and Debra Maas in Delano.

Mr. Hissam died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001. He was born Aug. 9, 1926. He is survived by wife, Mildred; children, Jennifer, David, Debra and Jodi; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by son, Jonathon; mother; father; and two brothers.

Dorothy M. Horsch

Services for Dorothy M. Horsch, 91, of Delano were Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Michael Miller officiated and interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano.

Pallbearers were Patrick Nicholas, Cory Horsch, Kurt Horsch, Randy Horsch, Doug Gow, Steve Gow and Mike Nicholas.

Mrs. Horsch died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at the Delano Healthcare Center. She was born Jan. 25, 1910, in Minneapolis, the daughter of William and Marguerite Curran Dunn. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1927.

She married Lauren Horsch Sept. 12, 1933, at St. Stephen's Church in Anoka. The couple lived on a farm near Delano and Dorothy worked in the office of the Delano Creamery, Jack's Food Guild and Lebovsky's Store. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. She especially enjoyed all of her family.

She is survived by husband of 68 years, Lauren; daughters, Betty Nicholas of Buffalo and Kathy (John) Gow of Delano; sons, Bill (Geri) Horsch of Delano and Phil (Betty) Horsch of Monticello; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandsons; two step-great-grandsons; sister, Winnie LeBovsky and sisters-in-law, Lillian Matter and Adeline Stein.

Andrew Kasper

Services for Andrew Marcus Kasper, 77, of St. Michael were Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Leonard Siebenaler was the celebrant and interment followed at The St. Michael Cemetery.

Lector for the mass was Angela Valerius; petitions were by Amber Elsner; gift bearers were Julie Kasper, Anna Valerius, Travis Kasper, Joseph Kasper, Joshua Kasper, Ryan Woitalla and Jason Kasper. The eulogy was given by Stacey Helgeson; Eucharist ministers were Deacon Maynard Warne, Deacon Don Becker and LeAnne Martin. Music for the mass was provided by The Resurrection Choir and Anne Bedbury. Programs were by Pam and Marcelle Kasper.

Nathaniel Helgeson, Grant Helgeson, Andrew Valerius, Adam Valerius, Daniel Kasper and Mark Kasper served as casket bearers.

Mr. Kasper died peacefully at home Tuesday, Sept. 18. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Kasper was born in St. Michael Aug. 8, 1924, the son of Leo and Rose Barthel Kasper.

On June 24, 1953, Andrew Kasper and Stella Hartung were joined in holy marriage at St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. God blessed their marriage with eight children.

He engaged in dairy farming west of St. Michael for many years and was a life-long member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Mr. Kasper enjoyed farming, fishing, playing cards and gardening.

He is survived by loving wife of 48 years, Stella; children, Linda (Mike) Valerius, Dolores (Bob) Helgeson and David (Ann) Kasper, and all of St. Michael; Paul Kasper of Buffalo, Ronald (Shelly) Kasper of Big Lake; and Larry (Kelly) Kasper, Dale (Joyce) Kasper and Cinthia (John) Woitalla, all of St. Michael; 25 grandchildren; brothers, Eldon (Bernice) Kasper and Ralph (Janice) Kasper, all of St. Michael; sisters, Bernice Lenneman of Buffalo, Malita Goeb and Mary (Ammon) Vetsch, all of St. Michael; Dolores (Harold) Dietz of Champlin, Arlene (Roger) VanRisseghem of Crystal, Rose Ann (David) Gindele of St. Michael and Corinne (Gerald) Wachowiak of Brooklyn Park; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by parents, Leo and Rose Kasper; mother-in-law and father in-law, Sebastian and Frances Hartung; and brothers-in-law. Linus Lenneman and Alcuin Goeb.

Roy Kjelland

Services for Roy D. Kjelland, 83, of Champlin, formerly of Fargo were Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001 at 10 a.m. with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 5th and Jackson St., Anoka.

Private interment Ft Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Kjelland was preceded in death by parents, six brothers, one great-granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; three daughters; two sons; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister and nieces and nephews.

Robert A. Kust

Services for Robert A. Kust, 70, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Delano, are Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mound.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Mound. A luncheon and social gathering will follow the interment at American Legion Post 377 in Delano.

Mr. Kust died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001. He was a member of Delano American Legion Post 877.

He was preceded in death by wife, Jean and father, Joseph. He is survived by mother, Elizabeth Kust; daughters, Wanda (Doug) Piepgras, Lori (Ross) Miller and Tammy (LeRoy) Bren; grandchildren, Justin and Nicole Roskowiak, Ashlee Bren and Nathan Schuft, Keri and Tracy Piepgras; brothers, Gerald (Joan), Jack, Jim (Carole) and Joe; sisters, Betty (Ken) Keesling, Pat (Paul) Solstad, Kathy (Cliff) Wheeler, Peggy (friend Dean) and Carol. He is also survived by long-time companion and best friend, Trudy Skinner and her family.

Memorials are preferred to Bay Pines VA Medical Center Hospice Unit, Bay Pines, FL, 33744.

Della Baker

Services for Della Baker, 88, formerly of Buffalo, were hosted Sunday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

Pastor John P. Folkerds officiated and interment followed at the Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford. Merrill Baker, Lynn Baker, Steven Myers, Jon Myers, Dennis Myers and Ron Myers served as casket bearers.

Mrs. Baker died late Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at the Kindred Hospital in Golden Valley.

She was born April 6, 1913, in Wadena, the third daughter of Edwin Sheffield and Nell Davis. She was raised by her paternal aunt Ida Carpenter and her husband Wesley. Della graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1933 and married Merrill Frank Baker in 1939 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Hampton, Iowa.

She was a life-long artist and craftsperson and also taught art in Siren, Wis. and in Iowa. After retiring to Woodmere Apartments in Buffalo she continued to teach classes in art and various crafts. She was active in the residents' association at Woodmere serving as its president and director of crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband Merrill and daughter Muriel Baker Younge.

She is survived by children; Mouraine Baker, Merrill Baker and wife Barbara, and Lynn Baker. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Robert Dahlheimer

Services for Robert A. Dahlheimer, 83, of Edina, were Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Minneapolis. Interment was at Lakewood Cemetery.

Mr. Dahlheimer was born Feb. 8, 1918, in Rogers. He died Sept. 15. He is Preceded in death by parents, Henry and Emma; and brother, Donald.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty; daughters, Kathleen, Nancy (Dan) Berend and Joanne (Dave) Faulise; grandchildren, Jessie, Matthew, Timmy, Shannon and Kelsey; sisters, Delrose Milless, Bernice Meuers, and Marion (Vince) Williams; brother, Alvin; and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Dahlheimer was the founder of Globe Tool and Mfg. over 45 years ago and retired in 1994.

Memorials are preferred to Catholic Charities and Christ the King Catholic Church.

Wanda Gerulis

Services for Wanda J. Gerulis, 78, of Blaine will be Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 Second St. N.E., Osseo.

Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Mrs. Gerulis died Sunday, Sept. 16, in Blaine. She was born Sept. 26, 1922, in Grand Rapids, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her husband Benedict R. Gerulis.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Nancy of Brooklyn Park; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and John Scopf of Maple Grove and Sandee and Mark Jensen of Maple Grove; brother, Wendy Nyberg of Grand Rapids, Mich.; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Lisa G. Langan

Services for Lisa G. Langan, 41, of Crystal were at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Rev. John Bogel officiated at the funeral service. Interment was at Joy Evangelical Free Church Cemetery in Hassan Township.

Ms. Langan died Saturday, Sept. 15, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wis. from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.

She was born in Coudersport, Pa. Feb. 18, 1960, the daughter of Carl and Charleen Brown Langan.

Ms. Langan was the Clean N Press Manager near Ridgedale and was a member of HOG Chapter, St. Paul.

She is survived by children, Jarrett Lynn Paul of Courtside, Az. and Marilyn Star Newberry of Elk River; a grandson, Brian Wayne Thell; parents, Cleon and Charleen Gilbert of Galeton, Pa.; brothers and sisters, Neil (Debbie Weeks) Langan of Galeton, Pa., Kevin (Mary) Langan of West Virginia, Harold Langan of Dallas, Texas, Jamie Langan of Galeton, Pa., Tammy Gilbert of Hanover, Cardie Langan of Williamsport, Pa., and Espie Langan of Myrtle Beech, S.C.; fiancee, Bill Fritz of Crystal; many other relatives and friends, including the Fritz family.

She is preceded in death by father, Carl Langan; and brother, Myron Langan.

Judith Pesola Newborg

Funeral services for Judy (Pesola) Newborg, 64, of the St. Michael area were Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in New York Mills, Minn., with the Rev. Roger Foltz officiating.

She died at the Buffalo Hospital Sept. 8 and was laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery in New York Mills.

Mrs. Newborg was born April 7, 1937 at Embarrass, Minn. to the late Jennie and Aale Pesola.

After graduating at the top of her class as valedictorian, in 1955 from New York Mills, she was employed at Production Credit Association in Fergus Falls and Detroit Lakes from 1955 to 1962. During that time, on March 29, 1958, she was united in marriage to Charles Newborg in New York Mills. The couple lived at Fergus Falls for two years, at which time their first son, Kirby Newborg, was born. They then moved to Detroit Lakes where they resided from 1960 to 1972.

In 1962 their second son, Anthony Newborg, was born. She then took time out to raise her two sons. In 1972 they built a new home in rural Frazee where they resided until 1982, at which time Chuck's employment with the State of Minnesota moved them to the St. Michael area where they presently resided.

In 1988 she began taking care of her three grandchildren from St. Michael during the day. Her five grandchildren were the apples of her eye.

Mrs. Newborg enjoyed her grandchildren, antiquing, country western music, bird watching, writing and also walking her dog. She walked a very close path with Christ. She taught Sunday school for many years and loved the children.

She spent the last 15 months in the Karrington Cottages in Buffalo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aale and Jennie Pesola; and her brother, Franklin Pesola.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Newborg; two sons, Kirby (Dalynn) Newborg of St. Michael and Anthony (Doreen) Newborg of Crookston; five grandchildren, Hannah, Tyler and Jason Newborg of St. Michael, and Robin and Lynn Newborg of Crookston; two sisters, Genevieve (Donald) Matti of Buffalo and Phyllis (Bill) Krumholz of Buffalo; two brothers, Filmore (Clara) Pesola of Becker and Gordon (Ione) Pesola of Hutchinson; many nieces; nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
