Raymond Kraus

Services for Raymond J. Kraus, 86, of Coon Rapids, formerly of Osseo were Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Stephen, Anoka.

Burial was in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Kraus was former owner of General Sheet Metal from 1946 to 1978. He was past president of Sheet Metal, Air Conditioning and Roofing Contractors Association. He was a long time summer resident of Big Sandy Lake, McGregor.

Mr. Kraus was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Florence; children, Daniel (Kathy) Michael (Marie), Jane Nissen (Jim), Joanne Powell (Reg), William (Earla); 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Memorials preferred.

Evelyn Knoblauch

Services for Evelyn H. Knoblauch, 91, of Osseo were Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 710 E. Broadway in Osseo. Interment at Hanover Cemetery.

Mrs. Knobluach was preceded in death by husband Richard.

Survivors include daughter, Vivian (Ed) Weinand Channel of Corcoran; granddaughter, Bonnie (Bob) Sahf of Brainerd; great-granddaughters, Tonya (Donald) Patnode Socher of Delano, Tasha (Jeremy) Patnode Hansen of Rockford, and Tarra Patnode of Rockford; and great-great grandsons, Luke Rothstein and Dustin Socher of Delano.

Robert Charles Larsen

Services for Robert Charles Larsen, 93, a life long resident of Osseo, were Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at Osseo United Methodist Church, 16 Second Ave. S.E., Osseo.

Interment was in Niggler Cemetery in Osseo.

Mr. Larsen was born July 29, 1908, in Anoka to Abbie McCausland Larsen and Daniel Larsen, the youngest of eight children, all of whom have preceded him in death. He died Aug. 31, 2001, in Golden Valley.

His father died when he was 4 years old, while working on the Coon Rapids Dam. Mr. Larsen was raised by his mother and his older brothers and sisters.

He attended schools in Anoka, Minneapolis, and graduated from Osseo High School in 1926. Robert was the first captain of the Osseo High School football team.

Mr. Larsen married Margaret Spence Larsen on May 27, 1937. They resided in Osseo where Mr. Larsen worked for Sipe Oil Co. In December 1941 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was assigned to Fort Snelling and duty in Jacksonville, Fla. After the war, he entered into the Ford Automobile business in Osseo, where he formed Larsen-Emholtz Motors with Arnie Emholtz. In 1960, he purchased Mr. Emholtz's interests, and renamed the business Bob Larsen Ford. In 1964, the business was moved to Brookdale Center, and renamed Brookdale Ford. Mr. Larsen was president and sold to his partner, Oran Powell, in July of 1972.

Mr. Larsen was active in many civic and community organizations. He was a life long member of the Osseo United Methodist Church, 60-year member of the Osseo Winslow Lewis Masonic Lodge, and 60-year member of the Osseo Odd Fellows. He served on the board of directors of the Brooklyn Center State Bank.

Mr. Larsen loved the outdoors, fishing in Canada, hunting, his summer home at Cross Lake, and was 30-year resident of Palm Springs, Calif. Robert and Margaret loved to travel and enjoyed summer trips throughout the world.

Mr. Larsen was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Spence Larsen. He is survived by a daughter, Susan (David) Brown; a son, Spence of Edina; sister-in-law, Jane Spence of Osseo; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Memorials are preferred to the Robert C. Larsen Memorial Fund.

Nicholas J. Lenz

Services for Nicholas J. Lenz, 19, of Delano were Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at First Presbyterian Church in Maple Plain.

Pastor Margaret Newswanger officiated.

Mr. Lenz died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, as a result of a car accident. He was born March 10, 1982 in Waconia, the son of Timothy and Susan (Benson) Lenz.

He graduated from Delano High School with the class of 2000. His great smiles and big hugs will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Lenz is survived by parents, Tim and Susie Lenz of Delano; sister, Courtney, also of Delano; "special love" Megan Frach of Delano; grandmothers, Mary Lenz of Watertown and Ruby Benson of Buffalo; special aunt, Janet Benson of St. Louis Park; and many other much loved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mr. Lenz has left this earth to be comforted by his grandfathers in heaven. He is preceded in death by grandfathers, Clyde Lenz of Watertown and Earl Benson of St. Louis Park.

Ruth Lien

Services for Ruth Elizabeth Lien, 93, formerly of St. Michael, were Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at Life in Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville.

Pastor Michael A. Trask officiated and interment followed at Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids. Friends called at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home Thursday, Sept. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. A prayer service was conducted at 7 p.m.

Breonna Zahler was the pianist for the funeral service and Katrina Zahler was the vocalist.

Terry Tuenge, Dan Lien, Max Zahler, Marty Zahler, Ron Lien and Jerry Lien served as casket bearers.

Mrs. Lien died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at the Berkshire Residence in Osseo. She was born in Buffalo Lake April 25, 1908, the daughter of William and Hilma Nelson. On April 30, 1925, she was joined in holy marriage in South Dakota to Martin Lien. God blessed their marriage with five children. Martin Lien preceded his wife in death in 1968.

She was a faithful member of Life in Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville.

Mrs. Lien is survived by children, Vernon Lien of Perham, Evelyn Tuenge of Elk River, Gloria Van Auken of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Shirley (Lloyd) Zahler of St. Michael and Noel (Carolyn) Lien of Lindstrom; 22 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 10 great, great grandchildren; a sister, Edith Newman of Rochester; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband Martin, Mrs. Lien was preceded in death by two great grandsons; her parents; six brothers; a sister; and by three daughters-in-law.

Memorials preferred to Life in Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville.

Vernon Ludescher

Services for Vernon J. Ludescher, 87, of Brooklyn Center were Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Minneapolis.

Burial was in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Ludescher died Tuesday, Sept. 11, in Brooklyn Center. He was born Dec. 8, 1913, in Rockford. He was born Tuesday, Sept. 18.

He was preceded in death by wife, Trudy; parents, Joseph and Rose; and sister, Elanore.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Manon and Jeff Stromberg of Michigan and Linda and Curt Trebby of Milaca; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lenord and Lucille of Delano, Mark and Elaine of Albertville and Austin of Florida; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorials may be given to the Vernon J. Ludescher Memorial Fund.

Leander Majeski

Services for Leander J. Majeski, 53, of Maple Grove were Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, with a Mass of Christian Burial at The Church of St. Columbkille, Wendell.

Burial was at St. Columbkille Cemetery.

Survivors include sons, Jason (Christine) and Dustin; grandchildren, Alexis, Bria and Cassandra; sisters, Delphine King, Josephine Creech, Delores Prokott, Sophia Howard, Lucille Kelly and Mary Acker; brother, Eugene; significant other, Ellie Wheller; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Jeannine L. Miles

Services for Jeannine L. Miles (nee Baird), 38, of Maple Grove were Sunday, Sept. 16, at Advent Lutheran Church, Maple Grove.

Mrs. Miles died Wednesday, Sept. 12, in Maple Grove. She was born Aug. 1, 1963 in Robbinsdale.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jay.

Survivors include her loving husband Brad; daughter, Jessica; sons, Nathan and Nolan; brothers, Joel, Michael and Shawn; sisters, Denise, Michelle and Theresa and other relatives and friends.

Memorials preferred.

Alvin L. Paulson

Services for Alvin L. Paulson, 80, of Champlin, formerly of Duluth, were Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home in Anoka. Burial was at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Paulson was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Duluth to Verner and Lena (Smith) Paulson. He was married to Grace O. (Carlsness) for 51 years and worked 31 years for the post office, retiring in 1977 as postmaster in Two Harbors. He then became account executive at the state Capitol Credit Union office at UMD.

He was a World War II veteran.

He died Friday, Sept. 7, at north Ridge Care Center in New Hope.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Hazel Lee; and brother, Norman Paulson.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; daughters, Jane (Phil) Nomura, Debbie (Kevin) Galligan; son, Allan Paulson; grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, Jared, Jennifer and Philip; and sister, Lois Carlson.

Mildred Pettit

Services for Mildred I. Pettit, 96, formerly of Corcoran were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly (James) Patnode of Corcoran; grandchildren, Gary (Lisa) Patnode, Dan (Cindy) Patnode, Daryl (Lori) Patnode; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Harriette Darling of Galena, Ill., Alfred (Helen) Faue and Vincent Faue, all of Minneapolis, and Vernetta Baack of Aurora Colo.; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Martin T. Pettit; two brothers and a sister.

Gladys Rude

Services for Gladys E. Rude, 94, of St. Theresa's Home, New Hope, formerly of Seattle, were Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Thurston-Lindberg Chapel, Anoka.

Interment was in Champlin Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David, Michael and Dennis Felix, Dale Larson and Randy and Ray Perrin.

Mrs. Rude died Aug. 30 at St. Theresa's Home in New Hope. She was born Oct. 9, 1906, in Pipestone the daughter of Joseph B. and Mary Bell (Pugh) Felix. She was married to Gordon Rude, and was a retired registered nurse.

She is survived by brother, David (Luella) Felix of Elk River; nieces and nephews, Beverly (John) Perrin of Elk River, Danna M. (Waldeane) Felix of Champlin, Judy Trutwin of Florida, Mary (Dale) Larson of Maple Grove, and Dennis Felix of Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by husband, Gordon; parents, Joseph and Mary; brothers, Danna L. and Coursolle Felix.

Patrick Stanchfield

Services for Patrick T. Stanchfield, 49, of Maple Grove were Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Joseph the Worker, Maple Grove.

Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Mr. Stanchfield died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, Aug. 29.

He was a longtime securities trader in Minneapolis and Chicago area. He was a Softball Hall of Fame inductee in 1999.

Mr. Stanchfield was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; his children's mother, Carol.

Survivors include his children, Josh, Jessica, Tommy; father, Thomas P.; brother John (Nancy); sister, Kiki Frisbie (James); nieces, Alton and Heather and other relatives and many life-long friends.

Memorials will be accepted by the family for the Stanchfield children.

Mable Trombley

Services for Mable A. Trombley, 92, of Osseo, were conducted Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Ave. N., Brooklyn Park.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Trombley died Thursday, Sept. 6, in New Hope.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Mrs. Trombley was a former owner of the Osseo Paint Store and was a former columnist for the Osseo-Maple Grove Press, writing "Down Memory Lane" for many years. She also was a member of the Osseo American Legion and Osseo Lioness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Sr.

Survivors include son Harold Jr. (Jeanne) of Rogers; daughters, Rita (Robert) Krois of Osseo, Sherrill (Rudolph) Betlach of Anoka and Marlene Trombley of Maple Grove; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and Ed and Pat Krueger.
