John Blesi

Services for John F. Blesi, 85, of Osseo were Friday, Jan. 11, 2002 at Osseo United Methodist Church, 16 Second Ave. S.E.

Burial was at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Jan. 8, in Golden Valley. He was born Dec. 28, 1916 in Dayton.

Mr. Blesi was a charter member of the Champlin Legion, member of Osseo United Methodist Church and a 45 year member of Construction Union 563.

Survivors include his wife Mary; son, Jack of Minneapolis; daughters Patsy (Richard) Coffman of Hyattsville, Md., Janet (Doug) Krutzig of Albertville and Kathleen (Dennis) Bernstrom of Champlin; brother William (Joyce) of Dayton; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the John F. Blesi Memorial Fund.

Leonard Endreson

Services for Leonard Wilson Endreson, 79, of Buffalo, formerly of Montrose, were Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano.

Gaylon VanLoon and Brad Holman officiated and interment was in Kreidler Cemetery in Montrose. Montrose VFW Post 1901 provided military honors.

Pallbearers were Jamie Swartzer, Jesse Salonek, Adam Salonek, Michael Swartzer, Brandon Scheuble, Benjamin Welter, Matthew Endreson and Jeremy Welter.

Mr. Endreson died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at the Buffalo Hospital. He was a survivor of 20 heart attacks until the Lord took him home following a bout with pneumonia. He was born April 21, 1922, in Hoffman, Minn., the son of Anton T. and Alice V. Endreson. He was married to Joyce Laverne Ringstrom for the past 54 years.

He was a good Christian man who was loved dearly by his entire family and all who knew him. His number one priority in his life was his family. He had a charming sense of humor and loving heart. To have been touched by his life was to be truly blessed.

He honorably served his country in the Navy from 1942 to 1945 during World War II and was a past member of Montrose VFW Post 1901. Mr. Endreson served as postmaster of Montrose for 27 years from 1957 to 1984. He was also a former member of the original Wright County Sheriff's Reserve Unit.

After his retirement as postmaster of Montrose, he became a well-known antique dealer with booths in a number of antique shops. He was respected in the antique business as a man who was very knowledgeable and trustworthy. He spent the rest of his life living his dream of antiquing with a great passion. His "dumb dog" Buffy was his constant companion until Buffy's death this past summer.

Mr. Endreson was preceded in death by parents, Anton T. and Alice V. Endreson; daughter, Bonnie; great-granddaughter, Brittany and his "dumb dog," Buffy.

He is survived and sadly missed by wife, Joyce; daughters, Candice Endreson, Renee (Ervin) Swartzer, Kathleen (Patrick) Kasheimer, Pamela (Gary) Scheuble, Teri (David) Welter and Nicole Endreson; grandchildren, Matthew Endreson, Jennifer Swartzer and special friend, David Jenkins, Jamie Swartzer and special friend, April Eckstrom, Michael (Tonia) Swartzer, Jesse (Beth) Salonek, Adam Salonek, Rachel Moreau, Mary Tingley, Angela Scheuble, Brandon Scheuble, Benjamin Welter, Jeremy Welter and Samantha Welter; great-grandchildren, Jacob Endreson, Dakota Endreson, Keisha Jenkins and Payton Salonek; sister, Gladys (Don) Preusse; brother, Walt (June) Endreson and special friends, Jim McGauley, Kim Coequyt-Hoff and Lisa Utterberg.

Verna Hengels

Services for Verna C. Hengels, 80, of St. Michael were Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church.

Rev. Leonard Siebenaler was the celebrant and interment followed at the St. Michael Cemetery.

Earl Dick, Fran Dehmer, Dan Dehmer, Jacob Peterson, LeRoy Welter and Harold Welter served as casket bearers. Ms. Hengels died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at The Park View Care Center.

She was born in St. Michael Dec. 3, 1921, the daughter of Hubert and Ida Dehmer Hengels.

She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1940 .

She was a lifetime member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Ms. Hengels is survived by a brother-in-law, Norbert J. Barthel of Annandale; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Ida Hengels; brothers, Oscar, Ernest and Harold "Huddy" Hengels; and sisters, Martha Barthel and Mildred Dick.

Rachel Holley

Services for Rachel Ann Holley, 8, of Rockford were Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Our Father's Lutheran Church in Rockford.

Rev. Larry Rehlander officiated at the funeral service and interment followed at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetary in Mound.

Rachel died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002. She attended second grade at Rockford Elementary School.

She is survived by loving parents, Marc and Laura Holley; an older brother, Weston; and twin brother, Chase; great-grandmother, Phyllis Holley; grandparents, Clarence and Dorothy Hanson, Norm and Connie Holley and Karen Holley and Everett; many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Andrew Marx

Services for Andrew R. Marx, 83, of Dayton were Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Church of St. Albert in Albertville.

He is survived by sister-in-law, Bernadine Marx of Robbinsdale; nieces and nephews, Delores Broxmeyer, Mary Berger, Teresa Wagner, Leila Hedin, Sharon Schelhaas, Gerald Marx, Larry Marx, Wallace Marx, Sr., Richard Marx, Bernard Marx and Francis Allers; great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

Mr. Marx was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and six brothers.

T. Robert Roach

Services for T. Robert (Bob) Roach, 74, of Prior Lake, were Friday, Jan. 4, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Prior Lake.

He is survived by wife, Genevieve; children, Roselyn (Michael) Menke of Shakopee, Jean (Milton) Trnka of Lonsdale, Donald (Linda) Roach of Prior Lake, Daniel Roach (fiancee Patti) of Newport, Mary (Mark) Willems of Belle Plaine, Kathleen (Bruce) Bennett of Dayton, Margaret Roach of Shakopee, Joan Roach of Shakopee, David (Julie) Roach of Prior Lake, Elaine (Louis) Kes of Shakopee, Bonita Roach of Prior Lake, Karen Roach of Prior Lake, Dwayne (Patty) Roach of Prior Lake, Thomas (Debbie) Roach of Prior Lake, Douglas Roach of Prior Lake, Patrick (Shelly) Roach of Prior Lake; sister, Mary Sauber of Lakeville; 34 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son, Stephen; parents, Thomas and Hanna (Ryan) Roach; sister, Agnes Roach; and brother-in-law, George Sauber.

Thomas G. Rohloff

Services for Thomas G. Rohloff, 74, of Montrose, were Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

Interment was at the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Rohloff died Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at his residence. He was born April 3, 1927 in Minneapolis, the son of Julius and Anna Rohloff.

He honorable served his country in the United States Army. During a tour of duty in Korea he was awarded a Bronze Star. He was joined in marriage to Jeannette Jurgens Seth in Watertown Dec. 5, 1967. He was a former employee of Pride Hybrid Seed Corn Company in Dassel and enjoyed cats.

Mr. Rohloff is survived by wife, Jeannette; step-children, Ronald (Deb) Seth of Zimmerman, Jake (Nancy) Seth of Henderson, Mary (Rick) Zettlemoyer of Lebanon, Penn., James (Debra) Seth of Elk River, Mark (Sheila) Seth and Dale Seth, all of Watertown and Bruce Seth of Winsted; several step-grandchildren; brother, Adrian Rohloff; sister-in-law, Ardice Rohloff; three nieces; one nephew; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, Julius and Anna Rohloff; brothers, Henry, Leonard, David and Richard Rohloff and sister, Eileen Birkholz.

Jeffrey Zurek

Services for Jeffrey J. Zurek, Jr., 23, of Champlin were Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel in Coon Rapids.

He is survived by parents, Jeff and Sue; sisters, Jenni and Jody Zurek-Mikrut (Jon); brother, Jeremy; niece, Samantha; nephew, Travis; girlfriend, Renee Castner; special aunt, Judy Zurek; grandparents, Terry and Marilyn Allen and Betty Zurek; aunts and uncles, Teri Routson (Dan), Patty Johnson (Bob), Steve Johnson (Connie), Chuck Johnson, Bob Johnson (Carol), Joy Johnson (Steve) and Bob Zurek (Kathy); and many cousins, relatives and friends.

Robert Baffa

Services for Robert (Rob) Carl Baffa Jr., 25, of Maple Grove were Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, 3450 Irving Ave. S., Minneapolis.

Burial was at Lakewood Cemetery.

Robert was preceded in death by grandparents, John G. and Angeline (Kastanos) Phillips of Minneapolis and Victor Baffa, Jr. of Chicago; uncles, George J. Phillips and Ronald Baffa. Also by loving and loyal canine, Fraulein (Helisa) Von Trapp Baffa.

Survivors include parents, Anna and Bob Baffa; sister, Rosanna Baffa; grandmother, Rose (Vignocchi) Baffa; godparents, Phil and Ethel Gjerde of Atlanta, Ga.; uncles, Donald (Myrna) and Richard (Gail) Baffa and Theodore J. (Mary) Phillips; aunts, Pauline (Becka) Phillips-Spande (Randall) and Maria Phillips; cousins, Brenda (Duane) Cassoday, Timothy J. Baffa, Jeffrey Baffa, Timothy M. Baffa, Cheryl Baffa of Chicago area, Alexander (Brenda) and Pericles (Julie) Dascalos, Stephen (Stella) Phillips, Bethany (Michael) Alicante, Katharine (David) Mensen and John Phillips; six second cousins; several great-uncles and aunts in the Chicago and Minneapolis areas; and three god sisters of Atlanta, Ga.

It is with a very heavy heart we say good-bye to our son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Remember to always embrace your loved ones for they may never return.

Donations to the family to be distributed to St. George and St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Churches' building funds.

Linda Blandin

Services for Linda Blandin (Brooks), 61, of Maple Grove will be Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9200 Elm Creek Blvd., Maple Grove.

Mrs. Brooks died Saturday, Jan. 5, after losing her struggle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Florence Brooks and sister, Barb Brooks.

Survivors include her husband, Curtis; son, Matthew; sisters, Nan (Darrell) Hargreaves and Betty Chapman; brother, Paul (Nancie) Brooks; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many heartfelt friends.

Memorials preferred to American Cancer Society.

Arnold McLean

Services for Arnold G. (Mac) McLean, 85, of Maple Grove will be today (Wednesday) Jan. 9, 2002, at Edinbrook Church, Brooklyn Park.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mr. McLean died Friday, Jan. 4, in Robbinsdale. He was born May 30, 1916, in New Germany.

Mr. McLean was preceded in death by a son, Bob Wood Sr., mother Thea; brother, Neil; sisters Bonnie and Dencie; brothers-in-law, Don Resch, Jim Becker, Mike Abrams and several other loving family members.

Survivors include wife, Mary; sons, Dale Hedtke, Rick Wood, Sr. (Lynn), Don Wood Sr. (Vicki) and Fritz McLean Sr. (Penny); daughters, Gwenny Shipley, Patsy Wood and Peggy Tacheny; grandchildren, Ricky Wood Jr. (Michele), Donny Wood Jr. , Robert Wood Jr., Tina Shipley de Rios (Jorge), Jennifer Steffen (Mark), Brandon Wood (Brooke), Matt Wood, Fritzy McLean Jr., Zack Wood, Kelsie Tachney, Bobbijo McLean, and Tyler Wood; great grandchildren, Jack and Jordan Wood, Madison Rios; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Memorials preferred to the family.

T. Robert Roach

Irvin D. Alger

Services for Irvin D. Alger, 72, of Long Lake, formerly of Maple Plain, were Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at the Rettinger Funeral Home in Long Lake.

Mr. Alger died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001. He was born in the family farm house in Maple Plain Aug. 16, 1929.

He is survived by wife, Elaine; daughters Debbie Alger of Long Lake and Anna (Mike) Tolladay of Fresno, Calif.; son, Steve (Peggy) of Billings, Mont. and grandchildren, Kris and Jerry of Billings and Alison, Andrea and Michael of Fresno.

Kathryn Blackwell

Services for Kathryn Blackwell (nee Santa) were Saturday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Golden Valley, with burial in Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.

She is survived by four children, Dale Blackwell of California, Paul Blackwell of South Carolina, Barbara Jo Riviello of New York, and Richard Blackwell of Wisconsin; niece, Sharon Holt of Champlin; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Elona Santa; and two sisters, Rosalie Gagne and Rita Santa, both of Golden Valley.

Donald Cassidy

Services for Donald J. "Don" Cassidy, 66, of Champlin, were Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at the Basilica of St. Mary, with burial in Crystal Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Cassidy died unexpectedly in Fort Myers, Fla., Dec. 16.

He is survived by sons, Dick and Chris; daughters, Kelli (Steve) Friese and Kacie (Terry) Berglin; eight grandchildren; brothers, Fran (Janie), Dick and Pat (Joan); sisters, Gerry D'Ambrosio and Trish (Chuck) Kyllonen; sister-in-law, Bonnie Yurch; father-in-law, Frank Smith; and brothers-in-law, Dwayne (Cathy) Smith and Roger (Karen) Smith.

He was preceded in death by beloved wife, Jeaninne; and parents, Art and Alice Cassidy.

Myrtle Christensen

Services for Myrtle E. Christensen, 101, of Maple Plain and formerly of South Minneapolis were Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at Lakewood Chapel in Minneapolis.

Rev. Larry Rehlander officiated and interment followed at Lakewood Cemetery.

Mrs. Christensen died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at Haven Homes in Maple Plain.

She was born June 11, 1900, and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in South Minneapolis.

She is survived by her daughters, Lorayne Christensen of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Beverly Dolbec of Minnetonka; and a granddaughter and her husband, Julie and Jerome Vergin of Greenfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin W. Christensen, Jan. 26, 1975; and by three sisters and a brother.
