William DeForge

Services for William E. DeForge, 57, of Maple Grove were Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at the Church of St. Joseph the Worker, Maple Grove.

Interment was in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. DeForge is survived by loving wife, Theresa; daughter Christine (Chad) Potter; son, Anthony (Katie) DeForge; grandchildren, Grace and Madeline; his dog, Buddy; sisters, Rhoda (Harvey) Harmsen and Antoinette (Jerome) Blaisdell; other relatives and many friends.

He was a member of the Forest Lake Sportsman Club.

Virgil Eggert

Services for Virgil H. Eggert, 84, formerly of Hanover, Lake Charlotte and Lake Pulaski, were Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at 2 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Rev. John P. Folkerds officiated and interment followed at The Hanover Village Cemetery.

Marlene Mohwinkel was the organist and Rolf Mohwinkel sang "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden."

Mr. Eggert died Saturday evening, Dec. 29, at Ebenezer Covenant Home.

He was born in Medina Township, Hennepin County, on July 1, 1917, the son of Henry and Maria Gross Eggert.

In 1934 the Eggert family moved to a farm in the Village of Hanover. Mr. Eggert engaged in dairy farming on that farm for many years.

In 1986 he met Lucille Wold and married her Oct. 17, 1987. She preceded him in death on Sept. 8, 1990.

Mr. Eggert served on the Hanover Village Council for 15 years and later served as mayor of Hanover for 10 years. He eventually moved to a home on Lake Charlotte and lived there for 14 years.

Mr. Eggert was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mildred M.A. Grambart of Hanover; twin nephews, Elroy (Leila) Grambart of Plymouth and Elrey (Judith) Grambart of Hanover.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Leonard W. Endreson

Services for Leonard W. Endreson, 79, of Buffalo, formerly of Montrose, were Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano.

Interment was in Kreidler Cemetery in Montrose.

Mr. Endreson died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Buffalo Hospital.

He was preceded in death by parents, Anton T. and Alice V. Endreson; daughter, Bonnie and great-granddaughter, Brittany.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce; daughters, Candice Endreson, Renee (Ervin) Swartzer, Kathleen (Patrick) Kasheimer, Pamela (Gary) Scheuble, Teri (David) Welter and Nicole Endreson; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys (Don) Preusse; brother, Walter (June) and special friends, Jim McGauley, Lisa Utterberg and Kim Coequyt-Hoff.

Melvin Gabrielson

Services for Melvin T. Gabrielson, 86, of Maple Grove were Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Grace Church of Roseville.

Mr. Gabrielson is survived by wife, Virginia; children, Jean Femrite (Richard), Kaye Johnson (Tom), Sonja Elofson (Rodney), Jim (Karen), and Lynn Brown (Pat); 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Interment was in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Memorials preferred to MICAH fund.

Eunice Gedatus

Services for Eunice A. Gedatus, 76, of Champlin were Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park, with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald; children, Terry (Denny), Diane (Art), Donnie (Sue), Susan (Dave), and Bonnie (Tim); 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis (Bill) Spittler and Donna McCurdy; brothers, Stanley and Warren (Audrey); and many other special friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Palma Nelson; and brothers Joe, Harold, Nester and Donald.

Wilfred Gorham

Services for Wilfred "Will" Gorham, 75, of Osseo were Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Gorham was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Maple Hill, Iowa. He died Dec. 17 in Osseo.

He was preceded in death by parents, Alfred and Bertha; brother, George; and sister, Beatrice.

He survived by children, Scott and his wife Lorme, Tim, Rhonda Gorham and her friend Steve Nelson, and Kirsten and her husband Mike McCall. He is also survived by grandchildren, Nikki and Ross; and brother, Victor and his wife Marvel.

Phil Griepp

Services for Phil Griepp, 72, formerly of Osseo were Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Osseo Church of the Nazarene, 224 First Ave. N.W., Osseo. Interment was in Weaver Lake Cemetery, Maple Grove.

Mr. Griepp was preceded in death by wife Beverly. He is survived by son, Steve (Janeen) of Elk River; daughter, Cheryl (Tim) Snyder of Princeton; grandchildren, Brianna, Wesley and Allyson; brothers, Ezra, Aaron, Jim, David and Allan; sisters, Wilma Mastley, Marion Larson and Alice Schlotte.

Memorials preferred to the Phil Griepp Memorial Fund.

Carol Halapi

Services for Carol Ann Halapi, 46, of Champlin were Monday, Dec. 31, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, both in Anoka.

She is survived by husband, Mike; sons, Jim and Joe; parents, Herb and Rosemary Suchy; sister, Diane Suchy; and father-in-law, Joseph Halapi.

Mrs. Halapi was preceded in death by brother, Herbert Suchy, and mother-in-law, Jerry Halapi.

Brent A. Hill

Services for Brent A. Hill, 42, of Minneapolis were Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Pastor Paul Settergren officiated and interment with military rites followed at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Hanover.

Mr. Hill died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at his residence. He was born May 5, 1959, in Minneapolis.

He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and was formerly employed as a printer. He enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Hill is survived by father, John W. Pettipiece of Rockford Township; aunts; uncles; many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by mother, Irma K. Pettipiece April 15, 1996.

Helen M. Hirschey

Services for Helen M. Hirschey, 70, of Elk River were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Central Lutheran Church in Elk River.

Rev. Ron Koch officiated and interment followed at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mark Anderson was the organist for the funeral service and "Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful," "How Great Thou Art," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Joy to the World, the Lord is Come" were sung as congregational hymns.

Jon Hirschey, Dawn McCurdy and Taylor Yost served as honorary casket bearers. Jim, Craig and Steve Hirschey, Chase Pust, and Russ and Randy Lehman served as casket bearers.

Mrs. Hirschey was reunited with beloved husband, Jim. She died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at the Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River.

She was born Sept. 28, 1931, in Minneapolis the daughter of Maurice and Violet Green.

She married James H. Hirschey July 17, 1946. Mr. Hirschey died July 10, 1994, one week shy of their 48th anniversary.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lester Green; and two granddaughters, Dawn Marie and Annie Hirschey.

Mrs. Hirschey is survived by children, Richard (Rita) Hirschey of Elk River, Michael (Marilyn) Hirschey of Albertville and Marie (Gary) Yost of Andover; grandchildren, Dawn (Ken) McCurdy, James (Melissa) Hirschey, Craig and Jon Hirschey, Chase Pust and Taylor and Rachel Yost; a great-granddaughter, Krystal McCurdy; sisters, Donna (Clint) Lehman, Bunny Nelson and Toni Green; a brother, Larry Green; mother-in-law, Vera Hirschey; many other family and friends.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff of GACC 300 Wing and Fairview Hospice.

Braeden Jordan

Services for Braeden Alan Jordan, infant son of Blaine and Amy (Voegele) Jordan of Rogers, were Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at Gearty-Delmore Chapel of Plymouth.

Braeden died Dec. 28 at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born Dec. 25 at Abbott-Northwest Hospital in Minneapolis.

He is survived by paternal grandparents, Dick and Karen Jordan of Buffalo, and maternal grandparents, Aldeen and Debra Voegele of Aberdeen, S.D.; aunts and uncles, Jamie Jordan of Wichita Falls, Texas, Josh Jordan and Mandy Jordan of Buffalo, DeAnna (Brad) Kyburz and Jessi Voegele, all of Aberdeen, S.D.; cousins, Paige Voegele and McKaden Kyburz; great-grandparents, John and Mona Aeshliman of Corcoran and Margurite Jordan of Elk River.

Braeden's cremated remains will be buried April 2002, the month of his expected arrival. Memorials are preferred to the family.

Donald Kocina

Services for Donald George Kocina, 61, of Maple Plain, were Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Delano.

Rev. Lee Hallstrom officiated.

Mr. Kocina died at his residence Friday, Dec. 28, 2001. He was born Sept. 4, 1940, in Minneapolis, the son of George and Mary (Johnson) Kocina. He was married to Carol Ann Schmidt.

Mr. Kocina is the founder of Kocina Communications, a Plymouth-based marketing and advertising agency and served as its president.

He is survived by wife, Carol; daughter, Julie (Ron) Goins; sons, Damon (Cynthia) Kocina and Jason Kocina and four grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Arthur Krych

Services for Arthur R. Krych, 70, of Champlin were Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at St. Gerard Church in Brooklyn Park, with burial in Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minneapolis.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Kathrine (Michael) Odens, Cynthia Lee, Steven Krych, Timothy Lee, Cheryl Lee, Kevin (Laura) Krych, and Thomas Lee; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Ken (Ellie), Tom (Kathy), John, Peter (Debbie); sisters, Ione (Don) Bright, Nancy (Jim) Cepress, and Gigi (Art) Fretag; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Krych was preceded in death by his brother, Duane.

Larry R. Larson

Services for Larry R. Larson, 54, of St. Michael and formerly of Elk River, were Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Life in Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville.

Rev. Michael A. Trask officiated and Carlene Rudnick was the organist.

Interment with military rites was Thursday, Dec. 20, at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, S.D.

Eric Larson, Jeremy Larson, Bob Larson, Dale Larson, Duane Meister and Jan Pedersen served as casket bearers.

Mr. Larson died Friday, Dec. 14, at the Buffalo Hospital.

He was born in Lead, S.D. Sept. 9, 1947, the son of Walter and Erma Sonnabend Larson.

He graduated from Lead High School in 1965.

He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.

On Sept. 14, 1968, Larry Larson and Deidra L. Heltibridle were joined in holy marriage in Deadwood, S.D. God blessed their marriage with three children.

Larry was employed as a meat cutter for 14 years at Cub Foods working in Coon Rapids and later in Buffalo.

He was a member of Life in Christ Lutheran Church in Albertville, and also belonged to the Elk River Gun Club.

Mr. Larson is survived by his loving wife, Deidra L. Larson; children, Dawnette Larson of St. Francis and fiancee Thomas Boyd, Eric Larson of Paris, Tenn., and Jeremy (Ericka) Larson of Elk River; a grandson, Hunter Larson; mother, Erma Larson of Lead, S.D.; three brothers, Roger (Judy) Larson, Bob (Arla) Larson, all of Spearfish, S.D., and Dale (Rene) Larson of Lead, S.D.; mother-in-law, LaEtta (Tom Gerber) Heltibridle of Sturgis, S.D.; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Larson in 1969.
