Barbara Fitz

Services for Barbara J. Fitz, 57, of Maple Grove were Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at noon at Kapala-Glodek-Malone Chapel, 7800 Bass Lake Rd., New Hope.

Burial was in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Mrs. Fitz died from complications of lupus and kidney failure.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Valborg Cornelius.

Survivors include her husband John; daughter and son-in-law, Susanne and Mark Waskosky; grandchildren, Taylor and Sierra; sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth and Curtis Rosequist, Donna and Joyce Cornelius and Kathleen Wagstrom and brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Marilyn Cornelius.

Walter Grover

Services for Walter Jay Grover, 81, of Dayton were Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Maple Grove, with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Grover died Monday, March 4, 2002, in Alberquerque, N.M. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; son, Keith (Marcia); daughters, Wanda Huerd and Geraldine (Gary) Rogholt; brothers, Carl, Vernon and Ralph; sisters, Avis, Frances, Beatrice and Ruth; grandchildren, Melissa, Nicole, Jamie, Lindsay, Kyle, James, Kathryn, Karen and Michael; and great-grandchild, Marquise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roal and Lydia Grover; brothers, Bob and Bill; sister, Myrtle; and infant daughter, Sandra.

Dale Harff

Services for Dale Vernon Harff, 59, of Greenfield were Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Word of Peace Lutheran Church, Rogers.

He was employed as a printed circuit board designer at Onan-Cummins Power Generation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Myrtil Harff; sister, Irmgard Harff; brother, Millard Harff; brother-in-law, Richard Shore and father-in-law Virgil Sipe.

Survivors include his wife Charlotte (Cookie) Harff; sons Mark (Marcia) Harff of Champlin and Mike and Sue Harff of Dayton; grandchildren, Stephanie and Jamie Harff and Travis Pawlak; brother, Loren (Carol) Harff of Greenfield; a sister, Eldoris Shores of Osseo; sister-in-law, Elaine Harff of Osseo; mother-in-law, Ardella Sipe of Rogers; brother-in-law, Denis (Patti) Sipe of St. Michael and other relatives and friends.

Douglas Hirsch

Services for Douglas Wayne Hirsch, 43, of Hamel, were Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Christ Lutheran Church in Maple Plain.

Private interment followed.

Mr. Hirsch was born in Ada, Minn., March 22, 1958, and died March 8. He grew up in Delano and graduated from high school there in 1976. He worked for Al Hirsch and Sons Construction for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Debi; parents, Al and Shirley Hirsch; children, Ana Benson (Rob), Amy Hirsch (Gregory), Carly Hirsch (Brian), Keith Sandahl (April), Matt Sandahl (Edie); grandchildren, Tristan and Kianna; grandmother, Adeline Hirsch; brothers and sister, Duane Hirsch (Toni), Kelly Hirsch (Liz), Gail Gray (Shawn); many nieces and nephews; four brothers-in-law, Mike, Pat, Jay, Jim; sister-in-law, Jackie; father-in-law, Bob Holm; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Vera Johnson

Services for Vera O. Johnson, of Steeple Pointe, Osseo, were Friday, March 8, 2002 at 3 p.m. at Advent Lutheran Church, 9475 Jefferson Hwy., Maple Grove.

She died Sunday, March 3.

She was preceded in death by beloved husband, Michael; a sister and a brother.

Survivors include her children, Linda (Bill) Bjerke, Wayne (Shirley) Holter, Larry (Diane) Holter, Gayle (Randy) Loechler, Kathie (Scott) Septrick, Jill (Al) Watson, Robin (Bruce) Vasseur; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, one brother, other relatives and friends.

The Cremation Society of Minnesota handled the arrangements.

Lee Larson

Service for Lee H. Larson, 57, of Loretto were Monday, March 11, 2002, at Christ Lutheran Church in Maple Plain. Interment followed Christ Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Larson died March 6, 2002. He was a 40-year employee of Control Assemblies Company in Plymouth. He loved sports, especially hockey and baseball. He loved jazz and big band music, and had spent many years playing drums in local bands

After attending St. Louis Park High School, Mr. Larson began filling orders for Lakeland Engineering and Equipment Company and moved into its Electrical Shop in 1964 He then took industrial electronics courses at Dunwoody Institute and began working for the Control Assemblies Company when Lakeland organized it in 1966.

He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Edith.

He is survived by wife, Linda and their daughters, Mollie and Sarah; sons, Timothy (Denise), David (Tracy); daughter, Karen McGee (Gary); sister, Lynn Rutz (Jim); seven grandchildren, many other loving relatives and friends, including his beloved dog, Mandy.

Eric Lehmann

Services for Eric Edward Lehmann, 40, of San Francisco, formerly of Deephaven, were Friday, March 8, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment followed at Holy Name Cemetery.

Mr. Lehmann died unexpectedly March 3, 2002. He was a graduate of Minnetonka High School and Carnegie-Mellon University.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He is survived by by parents, Arthur Lehmann of Wayzata and Patricia Fleming and husband Dennis of Minneapolis; sister, Christa Lehmann of Minneapolis; brothers, Arthur Jr. of Plymouth and Kenneth and wife Ann of St. Michael; nephews, Cameron and Cole; and other loving relatives and friends.

Gary Lundquist

Services for Gary Lundquist, 66, of Farwell were Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Oscar Lake Church in rural Farwell.

Rev. Denise Croskey officiated.

Mr. Lundquist died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at the Minnewaska District Hospital in Starbuck, Minn.

He is survived by wife, Pam of Farwell; daughter, Julie (David) Jacques of Delano; sons, Michael (Julie) Lundquist of Howard Lake and David (Tracy) Lundquist of Excelsior; stepson, Jake MacDonald; mother, Margaret Lundquist and eight grandchildren.

Ronald Markgraf

Services for Ronald Markgraf, 67, of Aitkin, who served as a Maple Grove police officer for many years, retiring as a lieutenant, were Saturday, March 16, 2002, at 1 p.m. at West Side Church in Aitkin.

Rev. Dallas Smith officiated. Steven Olson was soloist and Bryan Johnson was pianist.

Casket bearers were Gene Cummings, Al Linn, Al Cartie, Buck Moore, Roger Kooiman and Robert Wold.

Burial was in Lake View Cemetery. Military rites were provided by the Aitkin Veterans Posts.

Mr. Markgraf died at Wednesday, March 13, at the Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin. He was born July 4, 1934, in Wood Lake to Marvin and Cecil (Loland) Markgraf. He graduated from Wood Lake High school and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1956 during the Korean Conflict.

He married Sharon Romo in Granite Falls June 29, 1957. He worked for the Maple Grove Police Department from 1965 until 1992 retiring as a lieutenant. After retiring he and his wife moved to their home on Nord Lake in Aitkin and he served as administrator of the Aitkin Moose Lodge for seven years. He was a life member of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, the Aitkins American Legion Lee Post 86 and the Aitkin Moose Lodge 1060.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; daughters, Laurie of St. Michael, Jill of Otsego; sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Cyndi of Osseo, Scott and Dawn of El Paso, Texas, and Tom and Maggie of Ramsey; 14 grandchildren; one great grandson, his mother Cecil Markgraf of Granite Falls; sisters, Marlys Naaktageboren of St. Louis Park and Phyllis Teighert of Clara City, and a brother Lennie of Granite Falls.

Diane Mortensen

Services for Diane Louise Mortensen, 50, of Rogers, were conducted Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Elbow Lake, Minn.

Rev. Donald Trulson officiated and interment followed at Mound Grove Cemetery in Evansville, Minn.

Friends called Monday, March 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Word of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers. A prayer service was at 7 p.m.

She was born Oct. 5, 1951, at Fergus Falls to Charles and Delores (Endreson) Flint.

She died Wednesday, March 6, at North Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Center following a short battle with cancer. Mrs. Mortensen graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1969 and later received her Registered Nurse degree at Normandale Community College. She worked at the Elbow Lake Hospital for three years, Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia for two years and North Memorial in Robbinsdale for about 23 years, with the past several years in Same Day Surgery & Out Patient Care.

She married Curtiss Mortensen Aug. 28, 1976, in Elbow Lake. They made their home in the west suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Mrs. Mortensen is survived by husband, Curtiss; sons, Michael, 15, and Eric, 13, both at home; her mother, Delores Flint of Elbow Lake; a brother, Dennis (Kathy) Flint of Owatonna; Mr. Mortensen's three sisters, Sharon Denardo of Chaska, Beverly (John) Athey of Los Angeles and Jackie (Gene) Wenstrom of Elbow Lake; grandmother, Elta Flint of Ashby; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends, and co-workers at North Memorial Hospital, hockey families, Word of Peace families and many more friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Mortensen loved her family and her pet cats, Mollie and Abbey, watching the Olympics, sports and politics.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1953. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Gilbert Moteberg

Services for Gilbert Moteberg, 60, of Champlin, were Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Anoka Covenant Church, with burial in Ft. Snelling.

Mr. Moteberg passed away Saturday, March 2, 2002.

He is survived by wife, Sandi; daughter, Tonja (Will) Myers, and their daughters, Maurissa, Emmalee and Abbegale, all of Sauk City, Wis.; son, Eric (Kim) Moteberg; and their daughter, Faith, all of Hopkins; twin brother, Lyle (Shirley) Moteberg, of Grandin, N.D.; sisters, Geri Tekavek of Coon Rapids, Joyce (Al) Krogh of St. Louis Park, Frances Fox of Nashville, Tenn., JoAnn Knowlton of Mineapolis; brother, Myron (Shelly) Moteberg of Ada; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray; and sister, Shirley.

Marguerite Noren

Services for Marguerite J. Noren, 85, of Champlin were Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Peterson-Stohlberg Hillside Chapel.

She is survived by sons, Raleigh B. Johnson, Geoffey B. Bladine and Randolph Bladme (Cathy); daughter, Maribeth Peterson (Ron); and seven grandchildren.

Elijah Paulson

Elijah Tristan Paulson, infant son of Twyla Sederstrom and Brent Paulson, died shortly after being born Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at the St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids.

Funeral Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Nevis.

Officiant was Rev. Daniel A. Babine. Interment was at the Resthaven Cemetery in Nevis.

Elijah is survived by his parents of Akeley-Nevis, Minn.; his brother, Ethan Paulson of Akeley; maternal grandparents, Connie Sederstrom of Clarkfield and Hagen Sederstron of Maynard; paternal grandparents, Cornelius and Bertha Paulson of St. Michael; great-grandmothers Evelyn Sederstrom of Montivideo and Ann Rohrbeck of Dublin, Calif.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Elmer Gordon Pedersen

Services for Einer Gordon Pedersen, 86, of St. Michael were Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Osseo Church of the Nazarene, 234 First Ave. N.W.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys and Crystal.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine; children, Suzanne (Stephen) Sutter, Marcia (John) Arnold, Pam Bobo an Daniel (Carol); 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and sister, Violet Holgers.

Wilbert F. Raser

Services for Wilbert F. Raser, 85, of Watertown were Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown.

Fr. Frank Wampach officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandchildren, Steven Raser, JoAnne Raser, Jason Raser, Heidi Ketcher, Katie Ketcher, Emilie Ketcher and Adam Ketcher.

Mr. Raser died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born May 22, 1916, in Minnetrista Township, the son of Theodore and Christine (Jaques) Raser.

He married Christina Wartman June 14, 1951, in St. Bonifacius. After their marriage, they lived for two years in Glenn Lake, Minn., moving on to Howard Lake where they rented a farm until they purchased their dairy farm outside of Watertown in 1957. The Rasers lived on the their farm until 1993 at which time they purchased a home in Watertown.

Mr. Raser loved farming. Other than farming, he could find time for his other hobby, which was fishing. He served as a private in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Chaska VFW post.

He was preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Christine; brothers, Val Roeser and Nick Raser; sister, Alice Moers; brothers-in-law, Reuben Moers, Dan Shindler, George Gelhaye and Bill Connelly; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Raser, Hildegard Wartman and Margaret Gelhaye.

He is survived by wife, Christina of 50 years; son, Ed (Mary); daughter, Diane (Keith) Ketcher; grandchildren, Steven, JoAnne and Jason Raser and Heidi, Katie, Emilie and Adam Ketcher; sisters, Priscilla Connelly, Isabelle Shindler and Betty (Ed) Hammers; brothers, Gilbert (Hildegard), Lawrence (Florence), Walter (Rose) and Richard (Helen); brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed Wartman, Harold (Mildred) Wartman, Roman (Adeline) Wartman, Ralph (Rosemary) Wartman, Philip (Gloria) Wartman, Loretta Roeser and Lucetta (Elmer) Monnens; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Sharyn Rohloff

Services for Sharyn Rohloff, 55, of Rockford were Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Buffalo Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by husband, David R. Rohloff; five children, seven grandchildren, her parents and a sister.
