Charlotte Sadler

Services for Charlotte Sadler, 76, of Marshall, Mo., formerly of Osseo, were Friday, March 8, 2002 at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 Second St. N.E., Osseo.

Burial was in Lakewood Cemetery.

Mrs. Sadler died Monday, March 4, in Minneapolis. She was born Oct. 22, 1925 in Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Gertrude Sadler.

Survivors include daughter, Mary Beth (Brett) Chown, of Marshall, Mo.; grand daughter, Grace Elizabeth, brother, Bill of Osseo and sisters, Micky Severson of Brooklyn Center and Frances Shaw of California.

If so desired memorials may be given to the Charlotte Sadler Memorial Fund.

Dorothy Wolff

Owner of the Wolff's Den nightclub in Maple Grove for 35 years, Dorothy I. Wolff, 88, of Plymouth, formerly of Maple Grove, died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at home surrounded by family and friends.

A celebration of her life was Monday, March 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 15600 Old Rockford Rd. Plymouth.

Burial was at Crystal Lake Cemetery.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She made the best of any situation including recovery from a major stroke one year ago. She was owner with her husband Raymond of the Wolff's Den nightclub (later called Sneakers) in Maple Grove. Mrs. Wolff was a generous hostess "the door was always open," known for her kindness, and many trips to Germany.

She was preceded in death by husband, Raymond; son, Robert; grandsons, Andrew Wolff and Jon Wolff; granddaughter, Janet Elise Wolff; and sister, Elaine Hoffman.

She will be deeply missed by sons, James (Karen) of Apple Valley and Gerald of Eden Prairie; daughters Jean (Dr. Craig) Humphries of Plymouth, Connie (Dennis) Porras of Houston, Texas, and Mary Kay (Kenneth) Hauer of Temecula, Calif.; grandchildren, Kristina Wolff, Erika Wolff, Alexis Wolff, Timothy Wolff, Greg Wolff, Jacqueline Wolff, Kelly Wolff, Heidi Jacquin, Matthew Milner, Julie Milner, Anna Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez, Adam Rodriguez and Ashleigh Hauer; great-granddaughter, Hayley Cate Jacquin; brother, Alfred Schlegel of California; many nieces and nephews.

Memorials preferred to St. Barnabus Church, Shriner's Hospital for Children or donor's choice.

Kymberly Allison

Services for Kymberly Allison, 26, of Dayton, were Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home in Anoka.

She is survived by her parents, James E. and JoAnn, and brother, Sam, all of Dayton; grandmothers, Clara Wessen of Big Lake and D'Ete Allison of Minneapolis; fiance, Darren Olson of Coon Rapids; aunts, Geraldine Wessen of Big Lake, Susan (Chris) Donovan of Marine, MaryJo (Greg) Nohner of Centerville, Ted (Ann) Allison of Minneapolis, Nancy (Craig) Maehling of Minneapolis; cousins and many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by grandfathers, Willard Wessen and James T. Allison; and uncle, Jon Wessen.

Leona A. Branson

Services for Leona A. Branson, 81, of Maple Plain were Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto.

Rev. George Kenney officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Michael Belke, Robb Jaunich, Robert Dressel, Kevin Jaunich, Adam Jaunich, Corey Branson, Jay Madson and Travis Branson.

Mrs. Branson died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. She was born to Rose and Simon Roehl in Hamel.

Mrs. Branson spent the early years of her life raising her five daughters and two sons. During these years she enjoyed working with her sister and sisters-in-law in the paint, wallpaper and interior decorating business. She loved to do needle work, especially crafts. She is known for making pheasant wreaths. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, especially foods of her German heritage.

She worked at the Delano Healthcare Center as an aide and activity director for 24 years. Her true love in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Simon and Rose (Hutter) Roehl; brothers, Isadore Leuer, Bernard Roehl and Leo Roehl and sisters, Katie Pepin and Lanie Begin.

She is survived by daughters, Linda (Gordon) Belke, Charlene (Steve) Jaunich, Michelle (Glen) Cruickshank, Geraldine (Bob) Dressel and Monie (Jim) Pierce; sons, John (Anita) Branson and Tom (Teri) Branson; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Ramona Becker and sisters-in-law, Elsie and Lorraine Roehl.

Lawrence Bolduc

Services for Lawrence Phillip Bolduc, 74, of Champlin, were Saturday, March 2, 2002, at the Church of St. Raphael in Crystal, with burial in Fort Snelling.

Mr. Bolduc passed away peacefully Feb. 20, 2002, with his family at his side. Retired from FMC, member of UAW Local #683.

He is survived by loving wife, Betty; son, Thomas (Sandy); daughters, Sharon (Wayne) Voigt, Joanne (Thomas) Pikula, Dianne Turner, Judy, Kenneth (Ed Hill), Kathy (Thomas) Mueller, Patty (Kyle) Sharp; grandchildren, Cassandra, Jennifer (Chris), Michelle (Jae), Jacqueline, Nicole, Jessica (Todd), Jeannette, Daniel, Lisa, Amy, Dylan, Nathan and Megan; great-grandchild, Samantha; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erma and Horace.

Marie Berndt

Services for Marie E. Berndt, 88, of Osseo were Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 9141 County Rd. 101, Maple Grove.

Burial was in St. John's Cemetery.

Mrs. Berndt was preceded in death by husband, Oscar; parents, Henry and Elise Radintz; brothers, Alfred, Leonard and Theodore; sister, Gertrude.

Survivors include her children, Thomas (Maureen) and Marjorie; grandchildren, Kathleen and McLean (Laura); great-grandchildren, Madeline and Griffin; sister, Caroline Schutte and many nieces and nephews.

Norman Landis

Services for Norman Russell Landis, 79, of S. 26th Ave. E. and formerly of Maple Grove, Brainerd and Minneapolis, were Monday, March 4, 2002, in the Pilgrim Congregational Church, with burial at Gull Lake, Brainerd.

Mr. Landis died Wednesday, Feb. 27, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Minneapolis to Benjamin and Hilma (Miken) Landis and had been a resident of Duluth for two years. He lived in Maple Grove for 20 years and in Brainerd for 17.

He retired in June 1984 as an electrical engineer for Honeywell after 39 years. He was a former member of Hennepin Ave. United Methodist Church in Minneapolis. He was an avid photographer and ham radio operator, building his own radios.

Survivors include his wife Marion of Duluth; daughter Paula (Donald) Bjoalt of Duluth, son, Richard (LeAnn) of Edina; brother, Kenneth (Grace) Landis of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister Carol Nordeen of Minnetonka; four grandsons, Shean (Debra), Jason (Mandy), Benjamin and Tony; granddaughter, Jordan and one great-grandson, Noah.

Gladyne Michels

Services for Gladyne M. Michels (nee Olmstead), 71, of Champlin, were Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Central Lutheran Church, with burial in Vernon Cemetery, both in Elk River.

She is survived by daughters, Gail (Gary) Flaten, Holly (David) Henderson, and Laurie (David) Gunstrom; grandchildren, Ryan, Kirsten, Erik, Randy, Alyssa and Samantha; former husband, Douglas Michels; sisters, Nellie, Dolores, Bernice, Dena and Joyce; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and a twin sister, Gladys.

Nancy Reichstadt

Services for Nancy L. Reichstadt, 57, of Brooklyn Park, were Saturday, March 2, 2002, at the Lutheran Church of the Master in Brooklyn Center.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin; sons, Paul (Lynn) of Champlin and Troy (Heather) of Ramsey; daughter, Beth Markley (Jim) of Parker, Colo.; brother, Michael Hatcher; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather and mother, Jerry and Caroline Hatcher.

Fred William Pagenkopf

Services for Fred William Pagenkopf, 88, of Independence were Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at the Delano United Methodist Church.

Pastor James Beard officiated and interment was in the Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.

Pallbearers were Marvin Johnson, Francis Stein, Clarence McCarty, Ronald Buster and Frank Pagenkopf.

Mr. Pagenkopf died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at his home in Independence. He and his wife, Eleanor, owned and operated the Pagenkopf Tax Office in Delano for 35 years and he owned and operated the family dairy farm for his entire life.

Mr. Pagenkopf was a lifelong member of Delano United Methodist Church. He and Eleanor met on the family farm and were wed in 1943 at Delano United Methodist Church. The couple was very active with the Delano Fourth of July celebration, especially the queen coronation and royalty program.

The farm that Mr. Pagenkopf farmed has been in the Pagenkopf family for more than 100 years. He retired from dairy farming in 1985 and began raising heifers until November of 2000. In the early years he served an apprenticeship, working with Ray Diem in the electric business.

He found happiness in doing the chores associated with farming, especially cutting and putting up wood. He enjoyed the outdoors, occasionally finding time for hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by wife, Eleanor and brothers-in-law, Folbert Pasenow, Leonard Pasenow and Melvin Hanson. He is survived by son, Fred (Jane) of Minnetonka; sisters-in-law, Lila (Helmut) Wipprecht of Cobalt, Ontario, Canada, and Luverne Hanson of Glen Carbon, Ill.; and nieces and nephews, John (Sylvie) Wipprecht, Susan (Dieter) Scheunemann and Mary (Terry) Andrews, all of Ontario.

Harlan Rustad

Services for Harlan T. Rustad, 52, of Hanover were Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at 3 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Pastor Paul R. Settergren officiated and interment followed at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Hanover.

Sarah Vollbrecht was the vocalist for the funeral service.

Hank Van Erp, Tim Johnson, Bruce Thibodeau, Troy Johnson, Greg Pollack and John Lamm served as casket bearers.

Mr. Rustad died Thursday, Feb. 21. He was born in Anoka March 14, 1949, the son of Torrey and Amy Anderson Rustad.

Mr. Rustad graduated from Buffalo High School in 1968 and later honorably served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

He married Mary Jo Vollbrecht Oct. 27, 1984, at The Trinity Chapel-Beebe Lake.

He was employed by Park Drive Builders. He enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Walter (Wally) Vollbrecht; and by brother-in-law, Rodney Vollbrecht.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo; children, Amy (Mike) Anderson and Christopher Rustad, all of Buffalo; and Kelly at home; grandchildren, Courtney, Cody and Colton; brothers, Charles Rustad of San Diego, Calif., and James Rustad of Anoka; sisters, Phyllis (Roger) Paler and Priscilla Rustad, all of Fergus Falls, Robin Madla and Jan (Mike) Rivers, all of Annandale, Julie Rustad, Corrine Rustad and Bonnie Rustad, all of San Diego, Calif.; his mother-in-law, Lenore Vollbrecht of Monticello; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Patricia (Carl) Kalk of Rogers, Calvin (Ruth) Vollbrecht of Buffalo, Linda Vollbrecht of Monticello and Colleen (Kevin) Heinz of Rogers; and many other relatives and friends.

Alta Vergin

Funeral Services for Alta Ethel Leerssen Vergin, 87, formerly of Rockford, were Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford.

Rev. Michael T. Barlow officiated and interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery.

Janet Beise was the organist for the funeral service. "Be Still, My Soul," "The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want" and "Lift High the Cross" were sung as congregational hymns.

Lowell Strehler, Craig Strehler, Dean Strehler, Mike Hafflen, Mark Kroska, Jeff Vergin, Nathan Schleif and Donny Bauer served as casket bearers.

Mrs. Vergin died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at the Monticello-Big Lake Community Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Rockford Township the daughter of Wilhelm and Hermina Hanke Leerssen.

She was baptized Feb. 28, 1915, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Crawford Lake by Rev. Henry Bruns. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith July 25, 1926, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo by Rev. John E. Schaeffer.

On May 22, 1937, Alta Leerssen and Clarence Vergin were joined in holy marriage at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church - Crawford Lake by Rev. Alvin Leerssen. God blessed their marriage with two daughters and a son.

Mr. and Mrs. Vergin engaged in farming three miles northwest of Rockford for many years. In 1965, they built a new home in the city of Rockford. Clarence Vergin preceded his wife in death in 1993.

Mrs. Vergin was a faithful member of Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford.

She is survived by daughters, Diann (Wilferd) Strehler and Karen (Donald) Strehler, all of Hamel; son, Allan (Debra) Vergin of Azle, Texas; grandchildren, Clarice Schleif, Lowell (Judy) Strehler, Craig Strehler, Beth Strehler, Dean (Robin) Strehler, Gretchen (Mike) Hafflen, Rachel (Donny) Bauer, Jennifer (Mark) Kroska and Jeffrey Vergin; six great-grandchildren, Nathan (Jessica) Schleif, Joseph Strehler, Shelby Strehler, Heather Hafflen, Ryan Hafflen and Kailee Kroska; a sister, Hilda Vergin of Brainerd; sisters-in-law, Janette Leerssen of Monticello and Geri Leerssen of Sedalia, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Sr., Elmer, Ray and Walter Leerssen; and sisters, Adelia Darrow, Alvinia Landeck, Minnie Olson, Lillie Rux, Irene Boehike and Dorothy Leerssen.

Jeanne Zyktovicz

Services for Jeanne LuAnn Zytkovicz (Moeller), 48, of Osseo were Tuesday, March 5, 2002, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Brooklyn Park.

She died after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Evelyn Moeller.

Survivors include her husband Greg; daughter Jamie and son-in-law Matt Barthel; son, Phillip; brothers and sisters, John (Judy) Moeller, Jim (Marian) Moeller, Michael Moeller, Joan (Harry) Hennen, Judy (Don) Schmieg, Marcia (Mic) Kunz and Katie (Jim) Moore; and many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
