Harry Meyer

Services for Harry Meyer, 81, of Monticello were Friday, Feb. 22, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Pastor Dennis K. Strong officiated and interment followed at the church cemetery. Brittany, Angela, Brady, Katy, Keith and Jerome Meyer will serve as the casket bearers.

Mr. Meyer died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002 at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

He was born on September 13, 1920 in Corcoran the son of Herman T. and Christina Finke Meyer. Harry was baptized Oct. 31, 1920 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith April 14, 1935 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran. His confirmation memory verse was Colossians 3:17 "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."

On Nov. 30, 1946, Harry T. Meyer & Elizabeth C. Strehler were united in holy marriage at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenwood. God blessed their marriage with two sons: Kenny and Randy.

Throughout his life Harry was employed at a variety of jobs including hauling milk and grain, operating road equipment and working with pre-stressed concrete at Spancrete. He was last employed as a machinist at TSI Manufacturing in Monticello.

Mr. Meyer was a faithful member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Together, Harry and Betty have copied the audio tapes for the Salem Church services and delivered them to Salem members.

In his retirement years, Harry enjoyed making things out of wood, especially toys.

He is survived by his loving wife: Elizabeth C. Meyer; sons: Kenneth (Carol) Meyer and Randall (Marlene) Meyer all of Buffalo; five grandchildren: Brittany, Angela, Brady, Katy and Keith Meyer; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Lorena Georges of Hanover, Hildegard Kohnen of Maple Plain, Arlene Finke of Plymouth and Arnold (Gerane) Strehler of Monticello; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Fred and William Meyer and by sisters: Alice Schmid, Lillie Krone, Helen Meyer and Minnie Reinking.

Laura Mitchell

Services for Laura Agnes Mitchell, 92, of Rockford were Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto. Visitation was Monday evening at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. Deacon Darrell Courier presided at the prayer service Monday evening. Officiating at the Mass were Father Tim Dolan, Father Marvin Klaers, and Father Clem Zweber. Therese Borrell was organist with Joe Koch as soloist.

Pallbearers were Bill and Ben Mitchell, Vance and Reinhold Vergin, Tom and Bruce McCann, Sue Jensen, Valerie Weyer, Meg Hasbrouck, Laurie Plzak, Lindy Nelson, Karen Gehrke.

Mrs. Mitchell died peacefully at the Delano Health Care Center in Delano Saturday, Feb. 16. She was born June 8, 1909 to Frank and Anna Weismann Bokusky in Rockford.

On Valentine's day, 1928 she married William Sydney Mitchell and made their home farming on the shores of Lake Sarah. In addition to farming, Laura and Sydney owned and operated the Lake Sarah Ballroom from 1932 until 1967.

They were blessed with four children, son Sydney Mitchell Jr., daughters: Betsy, Carol, and Marge.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband Sydney and later married Bernard Mitchell. Laura and Bernard remained on the farm until 1987, at which time they moved into Rockford.

Laura was an active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, having served in numerous positions over the years.

Laura loved to entertain both family and friends, and often cards were involved. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She could always find time to go fishing. She enjoyed traveling; but most of all spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, brother Frank Bokusky and sister-in-law Topsy Mitchell.

Steven Nelson

Services for Steven Nelson, 58, formerly of Corcoran were Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Buffalo. Interment followed at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Hanover.

Nelson died Feb. 15, 2002, at the Thunderbird Samaritan Hospital in Glendale, Ariz. after a month long struggle with pneumonia. Steve had been a resident of Peoria, Ariz. since 1997.

He was born Dec. 23, 1943, in Hutchinson the son of Elmer and Orion Nelson. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1961. He then attended Dana College in Blair, Neb. and eventually graduated from Southern Florida University with a degree in accounting. For the next 30 years of his life, Steve worked for Honeywell in Florida, Minnesota and Arizona until his retirement in 1999.

On June 25, 1966, Steven Nelson married the love of his life, Sharon Kay Sadle in Sutherland, Neb. They were together until her death Jan. 6, 1994.

He is survived by three sons: Bret Jeffrey (Michele) Nelson of West St. Paul, Chad Hunter (Amy) Nelson of Red Wing and Seth Michael Paul Nelson of Ely; two grandchildren; his only brother: Dale (Peggy) Nelson of Castleberry, Fla.; three aunts, and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Steven was also preceded in death by his parents.

Mary Perronteau

Services for Mary Alice Perronteau, 47, of Coon Rapids were Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Leonard Siebenaler was the celebrant and interment followed at the St. Michael Cemetery.

Joan Kedrowski and Miriah King were lectors for the Mass and Colleen and Kyle Klatke were gift bearers.

Colleen, Kyle, Jamie and Connor Klatke, Mary, Brendan and Miriah King, Nicholas, Matt and Joan Kedrowski, Khris Lassard and Michael King served as honorary casket bearers.

John, Marlene, Jessica and Corey King, Kevin and Shawn Kedrowski, Kathie Lassard and Peter King served as casket bearers.

Ms. Perronteau died Wednesday, Jan. 30, at her residence.

She was born May 7, 1954, in Minneapolis the daughter of Laurence and Louise Hockert King. She graduated from St. Michael High School in 1972. She worked for Precision Associates for more than 25 in sales and customer service.

Ms. Perronteau attended Epiphany Catholic Church in Coon Rapids.

She was a joy to everyone and a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt.

She is survived by a loving daughter, Rosemary Perronteau of Coon Rapids; her mother, Louise King of St. Michael; sisters and brothers, Joan Kedrowski of Brooklyn Park, Michael King of California, Peter (Mary) King of St. Cloud and John (Marlene) King of St. Michael; 11 nieces and nephews; six grand nieces and nephews; loving companion, Ronald W. Yost of Coon Rapids; best friend, Kay Krings; many other relatives and friends including her former husband, Terry Perronteau.

She is preceded in death by her father, Laurence J. King Dec. 29, 1998.

Myrtle Rol

Services for Myrtle L. Rol, 78, of Maple Grove were Friday, Feb. 22, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 34 Second St. NE, Osseo.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Sandra and son, Robert. Survivors include her husband, Francis; son, Ronald (Dawn); daughters, Linda (Donald) Stewart and Cheryl (Rick) McManners; grand-daughters, Dolly (Dan) Audette, Randi and Lauren Stewart; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Danielle Audette.

Antonio Frank Saclolo

Antonio Frank Saclolo, 45, of Montrose died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in San Jose, Calif.

Mr. Saclolo was born April 2, 1956. He is survived by children, Anna, Marilyn and Manuel Saclolo; mother, Nellie; sisters, Alice, Peggy and Louise; brother, Bennie; grandmother, Mary Rodriquez; seven uncles; five aunts; nieces and nephews; three grand-nephews; one grand-niece and countless friends. VL 4ever.

Gerald Springer

Services for Gerald E. "Jerry" Springer, 78, of Big Lake were Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at 7 p.m. at Saron Lutheran Church of Big Lake.

Mr. Springer died peacefully Feb. 12. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanne; three daughters, Linda (Michael) Kewin of Highland, Calif., Christelle (Richard) Langer of Minneapolis and Ann Knudsen of Stillwater; son, Steven of St. Michael; and eight grandchildren.

Irene Van Pelt

There was a private family service Irene A. Van Pelt (nee Rezincek), 86, of Rockford.

Van Pelt died Friday, Feb. 15 at the Delano Health Care Center. She is survived by one daughter Katherine Ebert and four sons, Francis (Janice Carlson), Kenneth (Siliva), Arthur (Mary), Lawrence.

Verneal C. Zoldahn

Services for Verneal C. Zoldahn, 74, of St. Michael were Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

Rev. Dennis K. Strong officiated and interment followed at the church cemetery.

Friends called at the church Tuesday, Feb. 19, from noon until the time of service.

Mrs. Jan Nelson was the organist for the funeral service. "Children of the Heavenly Father," "Abide with Me! Fast Falls the Eventide," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art" were sung as congregational hymns.

Wayne Kohnen, Ron Olson, Jim Hall, Roy Velander, David Zoldahn and Tom Hanson served as casket bearers. Mrs. Zoldahn died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

She was born Feb. 18, 1927, the daughter of Edward J. and Ida L. Sipe Tessmer.

Mrs. Zoldahn was baptized March 27, 1927, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenwood Township, Hennepin County. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church March 17, 1940. Her confirmation memory verse was Jeremiah 31:3 "Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee."

On Aug. 10, 1950, Verneal Tessmer and Walter Zoldahn were joined in holy marriage at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. God blessed their marriage with a daughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Zoldahn engaged in dairy farming for 42 years in Greenfield and retired to St. Michael in 1992.

She was a lifelong faithful member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

She is survived by her loving husband, Walter H. "Wally" Zoldahn; a daughter, Sandra Ann Zoldahn (Gordon) Schuman of Clear Lake; grandsons, Jeremy (Amy) Schuman and Joel (Robyn) Schuman; a great-grandson, Cort A. Schuman; a sister, Bernice (Marvin) Finke of Robbinsdale; other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Zoldahn is preceded in death by her father, Edward Tessmer May 26, 1974; mother, Ida Tessmer Nov. 30, 1996; and by a sister, Mildred (Tessmer) Kohnen May 26, 1987.

Jerry Anderson

A Memorial Funeral Mass for Jerry Anderson, 68, of Loretto, formerly of Bloomington was Thursday, July 11, 2002 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto.

Father Brian Fier officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Anderson died Saturday, July 6, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

He was born May 6, 1934 in Pine City, to George and Rosemary (Soukup) Anderson.

Mr. Anderson married Pat Stone at Holy Name Catholic Church in Minneapolis, and together they enjoyed 48 years of marriage. They raised a family of six children, spending 21 years in Bloomington and the past 20 plus years in Loretto.

He loved life, his family, and his lake. He was the consummate engineer. He loved his work, and had worked his last 10 years as an engineer at Lake Engineering of Long Lake. His family took precedence. Among his other joys in life were flowers, boating, camping, and reading.

Survivors include his wife Pat; sons Tom and Laurie Anderson, Dan Anderson, Mike Anderson, and Tim and Amy Anderson; daughters Kathy and Greg Hanson, Kelly and Joe Pumper; 10 grandchildren Ryan, Breanna and Meg, Hanson; Cassidy and Rylee Pumper; Jason, Jeffrey, Tyler, Sean, and Jake Anderson and sisters Alice and Virgene, and brother Albert.

Frank Barton

Services for Frank Barton, 79, of Brooklyn Park were Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka with burial in Sunset Memorial Park in Minneapolis.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris; son, Bill (Michelle) Barton of St. Paul; granddaughter, Anna; brother, Louis (Lavern) Barton of Wadena; sisters, Agnes Anderson of Brooklyn Center and Clara Brophy of St. Cloud; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sons, Bernard and Timothy; parents, Louis and Josephine Barton; sister, Ann Macha; and brother, Edward Bari.

Stevens Beavens

Services for Steven F. Beavens, 49, of Champlin, were Monday, July 22, 2002, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Anoka, with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by wife, Linda; sons, Shawn (Jennifer) of Maple Lake, Corey (fiancee Heather) of Champlin; granddaughters, Haley and Stephanie; father, Floyd Beavens of Minneapolis; mother, June Vogel of Arden Hills; sisters, Sandy of Blaine and Debra of Fergus Falls; brothers, Gary of Circle Pines and Dale of Minneapolis; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Vonnie Bukosky of Crystal; brother-in-law, Terry (Nancy) Bukosky of Albertville; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Steven Carlson

Services for Steven Allen Carlson, 42, of Champlin, were 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Washburn-McReavy Swanson Chapel in Minneapolis. Burial will be in Outing at a later date.

He died accidentally July 14, 2002, in Outing. He was employed with G.E.S. and formerly with Brede Expo, and was an active member of Ducks Unlimited.

Mr. Carlson is survived by mother, Gert; special friend and companion, Donna Millard; brother, John (Margaret); sisters, Virginia (Terry) Hill, Julie Thompson, Carol (Mark) Grant, Sharon (Jeff) Grant; and 11 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father, John A. Carlson, and grandmother, Julia T. Proctor.

Darlene Childs

A private funeral service was conducted for Darlene Ann Childs, 70, of St. Michael.

Mrs. Childs died Sunday, July 7, 2002, at Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids. She was born in Park Rapids, Minn., Oct. 8, 1931, the daughter of Donald L. and Violet E. Beach Bradt.

She is survived by her husband, David Childs of St. Michael; children, Steven Childs of St. Michael, Deborah (Mike) Brehmer of Panora, Iowa, David (Christine) Childs of St. Michael, and Jeffrey Childs of St. Michael; seven grandchildren; a sister, Donna Belle Eldred of San Antonio, Texas; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
