Christine Heideman

Services for Christine Ann Heideman, 32, of Rockford and formerly of Rosemount were Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Our Father's Lutheran Church in Rockford.

Rev. Larry Rehlander officiated.

Kurt Heideman, Steven Ring and Andy Tanghe served as honorary casket bearers.

Pat, Dennis, Tim, Dan and Ralph Ring and James Meath served as casket bearers.

Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Heideman died unexpectedly Monday, June 10, of a stroke.

She was born on April 3, 1970, in Edina the daughter of Myron and Rose Ring Meath.

She graduated from Rosemount High School in 1988 and graduated in 1993 from Mankato State University.

On Nov. 4, 2000, Christine Meath and George Heideman were joined in holy marriage at Our Father's Lutheran Church in Rockford.

Mrs. Heideman was employed as a Supervisor for Hennepin County Economic Assistance and dealt with the elderly and disabled. She formerly worked part time for Fraser Community Services.

She was a faithful member of Our Father's Lutheran Church in Rockford and served as an usher and greeter. She enjoyed spending her free time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by grandfathers, James E. Meath and John P. Ring; aunt/godmother, Carol Hedman; and by an aunt Mary Colleen Ring.

She is survived by her beloved husband, George H. Heideman; parents, Myron and Rose Meath; brothers and sisters, Bart (Amy) Meath, Kathy Meath, Nate Meath, Brett Meath, Angie Meath and Theresa Meath; grandmothers, Marie Meath and Catharine Ring; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and Bev Heideman; brother-in-law Kurt, (Rhonda) Heideman; nieces Natalie, Emily and Haley; many other loving family and friends.

Joseph F. Hayes

Services for Joseph F. Hayes, 76, of Delano were Friday, June 7, 2002, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Deacon Loren Yager presided at the prayer service with a fireman's walk through and prayer by the Delano Fire Department. Fr. Michael Miller officiated at the Mass and interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano.

Pallbearers were Tom Lynch, Mark Hayes, Jim Hayes, Brad Hayes, Mike Hayes and Rich Hayes.

Mr. Hayes died Monday, June 3, 2002, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. He was born June 25, 1925, to Andrew H. and Josephine (Rogers) Hayes in Montrose.

He married Marian Wetter Aug. 9, 1951, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Mr. Hayes served his country in the U.S. Army and reserves as a sergeant. He served 20 years on the Delano Fire Department. He was also employed for 30 years at the Delano Granite Works and 12 years for the Delano School District as a custodian.

He enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing with his buddies and family. Mr. Hayes was a sports fan, following the Delano High School athletic teams as well as the Twins and Vikings.

He was known for being a very patient and kind, loving man.

He was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Richard and Kevin; sister, Virginia Lynch and brother-in-law, Edward Lynch.

He is survived by wife, Marian of 50 years; sons, David (Jean) and Donald (Jean); daughter, Debra (Chris) Conzet; granddaughters, Melissa, Cynthia and Alycia Hayes; brothers, Clifford (Jean), Maurice (Marion) and Eugene (Janet); sister, Patricia (George) Schaar; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Hayes, Shirley Hayes, Gordy and Marilyn Wetter, Edward and Linda Wetter and Rich and Connie Wetter.

Thomas Hunt

Graveside Committal Services for Thomas and Hazel Joos Hunt will be conducted Thursday, July 11, 2002, at the Medina Cemetery in Medina, N.D.

Mr. Hunt, 90, of Corcoran and formerly of San Luis Obispo, Calif., died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Wayzata.

He was born Feb. 20, 1912 in Bakersfield, Calif., the son of Rosco and Bess Aston Hunt.

On Jan. 10, 1938, Thomas A. Hunt and Hazel Joos were joined in holy marriage. Hazel Joos Hunt preceded her husband in death Oct. 5, 1998.

Mr. Hunt was a former longtime brakeman and conductor with the Southern Pacific Railroad. He retired from the railroad following 41 years of service.

He was a 50 member of Zion Lutheran Church in San Luis Obispo and through the years he was very active in all church activities. Mr. Hunt also belonged to the San Luis County Historical Society

He is survived by a niece Goldine Knudson of Corcoran and family Lynn, Kim and Casey Knudson all of Rogers and Allison; nephews Lester Joos of Minneapolis and fiancee Jill Waterhouse with Jessica Barber Joos and family, Jim (Donna) Hunt of Santa Ana, Calif., Paul (Desnee) Joos of Bellevue, Wash. and Bruce Joos of Renton, Wash. and families; a sister-in-law: Jane Hunt of Santa Ana, Calif.

In addition to his loving wife Hazel Joos Hunt, Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his parents Rosco and Bess Hunt and by brother William Hunt.

Jon Jost

Jon P. Jost, 61 of Bigfork, formerly of Buffalo, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at his residence.

A memorial service was Friday June 14, at 7 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Rev. Delburn Kurtz officiated.

Mr. Jost was born Sept. 5, 1940, in Buffalo the son of Jacob H. and Rebecca J. Hilliard Jost.

He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1958. He formerly worked as a bread truck driver, a dredge operator and as a roller operator for Hard Drives of Maple Grove. He retired as a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers-Local 49.

Following his retirement, he moved to Bigfork about five years ago to enjoy the peace and quiet of his river property.

He enjoyed sports, stock car racing, fishing and hunting, especially with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob in 1960; mother, Rebecca in 1990; a son, Troy Jost in 1988; and by a brother, Ted Moody Sr. in 1994.

Survived by a daughter, Tracy (Robert) Laumann of Buffalo; grandchildren, Teagen, Heather and Robert Laumann; Travis and Derek Jost all of Buffalo; step-grandchildren, Phil Laumann and Tracy Amundson; a step great granddaughter, Taylor Laumann; brother, Jay (Judy) Jost of Coon Rapids; nieces, Allison (Jim) Belland of Ham Lake and their children, Chelsea and Lindsay; Andy (Eddie) Micek of Coon Rapids and their children, Jack and Jay; former wife, Beverly; and a special friend: Joan Richardson.

Kevin Johnson

Services for Kevin P. Johnson, 16, of Maple Grove, who passed away suddenly, were Friday, May 31, 2002, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 18500 County Rd. 101, Maple Grove.

Kevin was a 10th-grader at Maple Grove High School.

Survived by loving parents, Brian and Betty; brother, Kyle; grandparents, Earl and Betty, and Eldon and Hazel; many uncles, aunts, cousins, many loving friends and other family.

Sandra Van Lith Jude

Services for Sandra Van Lith Jude, 51, of St. Cloud were Friday, July 5, 2002, 10 a.m. at Celebration Lutheran Church, Sartell.

She was born Sept. 22, 1950 in Minneapolis. She died Tuesday, July 2.

Survivors include her husband, Pat; son, Charles; daughter, Anne; parents, Bud and Margaret Van Lith of Crosslake, and Sun City West, Ariz..; sister, Janice Van Lith Crosby of Port Washington, New York; brother, Gregg (Carol) Van Lith of Maple Grove and nieces and nephews.

Leon Kilian

Services for Leon H. Kilian, 95, of St. Michael were Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Leonard Siebenaler was the celebrant and interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery.

Casket Bearers were Mr. Kilian's six sons.

Mr. Kilian died Saturday, June 8, at The Park View Care Center. He was born June 18, 1906, in St. Michael the son of Nicholas and Appolonia Schumm Kilian.

On April 26, 1933, Leon H. Kilian and Stella M. Cardinal were joined in holy marriage at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dayton. God blessed their marriage with eight children.

Mr. Kilian owned and operated for many years Kilian Electric and retired when he was 70. He originally owned hardware stores in both St. Michael and Albertville. Through the years, he also developed his land in southwest St. Michael.

He was a lifetime member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael and belonged to The Knights of Columbus Council 4174 and to the Crow River Sportsmen's Club.

Mr. Kilian also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Stella M. Kilian; children, Marvin "Buddy" (Anne) Kilian, Maurice "Ditto" (Coleen) Kilian and Paul "Archie" (Audrey) Kilian, all of St. Michael, Shirley (Roger) Loftman of Sun City, Ariz., Robert M. "Bob" (Charlotte) Kilian of St. Michael, Jacob "Jack" (Terry) Kilian of Buffalo, James "Jim" (Kristi) Kilian of Crosby and Cynthia "Cindy" Kilian of St. Michael; 35 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Irma Kilian of Buffalo and Betty Garton of California; a brother, Marcellus "Celly" (Marilyn) Kilian of St. Michael; two sisters-in-law, Hattie Kilian and Helen Cardinal, both of Maple Grove; many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Kilian is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julie Loftman; his parents; brothers, Jerome and Carroll Kilian; and by a sister, Stella Anselment.

Iris Lehn

Services for Iris Lehn, 71, of Dayton were Friday, July 5, 2002, at St. Walburga Catholic Church in Fletcher, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Norman; daughter, Patricia; sons, Anthony and Terrence; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Virgilia and Delrose; and brother, Wilbur.

She was preceded in death by mother, Dorthea; father, Frank; and sister, Mary Lou.

Leahnette Anna Lindholm

Services for Leahnette Anna Lindholm, 82, of Delano were Friday, June 7, 2002, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baxter.

Rev. Arthur Frenz officiated.

Mrs. Lindholm died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at St. Joseph's Medical Center. She was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Delano the daughter of Elmer and Anna (Mutterer) Johnson. She grew up on her parents' farm near Delano and attended elementary school and high school in Delano. She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano and she attended St. Cloud State Teachers College and graduated with a degree in elementary education.

Mrs. Lindholm initially taught in an elementary school in the Welker School District. Then she taught for a time in the Redwood Falls School District. The majority of her teaching career was spent in the Delano Public Schools, where she taught sixth grade for many years before retiring in 1978.

She was married to Oliver Lindholm June 13, 1942, in Delano. They enjoyed nearly 60 years of marital happiness until Mr. Lindholm's death Feb. 17 of this year. Their marriage was blessed with three children.

Following the retirement from their work in Delano, the couple moved to the lake property on Agate Lake in Lakeshore, Minn. They spent 22 enjoyable years there at the place, which they affectionately called "Our Blessed Retreat." They moved to an apartment at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd Aug. 1, 2001. On Jan. 18, 2002, she moved to the Almond House where she lived until entering the hospital May 30.

Mrs. Lindholm was a vibrant, active woman who lived her Christian faith and showed special interest in her family and church. At Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano, she was active in Ladies Aid, choir and DMLC Auxiliary. At Christ Lutheran Church in Baxter, she was active in Dorcas Society, Altar Committee and choir. She enjoyed swimming, hiking, reading, hunting agates, cross-country skiing, latchhook and playing games. She enjoyed traveling to scenic spots, especially to the North Shore of Lake Superior.

She was preceded in death by husband, Oliver; brother, Gerald Johnson; and her parents.

She is survived by sons, Oliver (Betty) Lindholm, Jr. of McFarland, Wis., and Joel (Dawn) Lindholm of Delano; daughter, Judith (Donald) Gurgel of Appleton, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and sister, Ruth (Clarence) Pauling of Cambridge.

Ervin Peter Maas

Services for Ervin Peter Maas, 85, of Delano were Thursday, May 30, 2002, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Fr. Michael Miller presided and interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano.

Pallbearers were Christopher Maas, Barry Maas, Nathan Maas, Daron Maas, Marvin Jerde and Jim Hatcher.

Mr. Maas died with his family by his side Monday, May 27, 2002, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. He was born June 29, 1916, to John H. and Theresia (Schuler) Maas in St. Bonifacious.

He married Ilene E. Jerde Sept. 5, 1940, in St. Michael. They made their home in Delano. On Feb. 22, 1962, Mr. Maas was proud to move his family into their new home on Elm Ave. in Delano. Mr. Maas had a hand in building the home.

Mr. Maas had an easy manner about him; he was detail-oriented and non-judgmental. He was known for making no enemies.

He worked for many years as an engraver for the Delano Granite Works, taking pride in the complex carvings that he was able to produce.

Mr. Maas enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid sport fisherman, taking his family with him both winter and summer. Trips to the lake in Alexandria were part of the family experience all of his life. He enjoyed fly fishing, tying and repairing his tackle, but especially spending time with his family. He enjoyed gardening and keeping a well-kept yard. Cribbage and talking about baseball were commonplace while spending time with Mr. Maas. He was known for being able to handle a barbecue grill and enjoying it as he did so. His true joys in life came from spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by parents, John and Theresia Maas; brother, Ruben and sister, Erma Hatcher.

He is survived by his wife, Ilene of 61 years; daughter, Pat (Ron) Mielke; son, Pete (Judy) Maas; grandsons, Daron (Kathy) Maas, Barry (Kelly) Maas, Nathan Maas and Christopher Maas; two great-granddaughters and sister, Evelyn Dressel.

Bryan K. Magnuson

Services for Bryan K. Magnuson, 57, of Delano, formerly of Hopkins, were Friday, June 29, 2002, at Bryant Avenue Baptist Church, Minneapolis.

Mr. Magnuson died June 24, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadette; and father, Kenneth M. He was a running back for the University of Minnesota football team and also the University of Montana.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth of Minneapolis; brother, James (Karen) of Lake Arrowhead, Calif.; and sister, Marilyn (W. David) White of Minneapolis.
