Curtis Henry Wacholz

Services for Curtis Henry Wacholz, 56, of Delano, formerly of Wells, Minn., were Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, at Mansfield Lutheran Church in rural Alden.

Rev. Don Rose officiated and interment was in Mansfield Lutheran Cemetery. Military honors were provided by the Freeborn County Veterans Organization.

Mr. Wacholz died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at his home in Delano. He was born Nov. 27, 1946 in Alden, the son of Henry and Margaret (Meyer) Wacholz.

He was baptized at Mansfield Lutheran Church and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. He graduated from Wells High School in 1964 and enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a member of the Alden American Legion.

He was employed with Durabuilt in Rockford and enjoyed working outdoors, fishing, hunting, traveling and visiting with friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and was a very loving and caring man.

He is survived by brother, Duane (Loretta) Wacholz of Alden; sister, Marilyn (Gene) Kruger of Beaverton, MI.; special friend, Faye Mitchell and her daughters, Kim and Cindy of Delano; aunts, Velva Outhoudt of Winnebago, Mildred Meyer of Stewartville, Sarah Doppelhamer of Albert Lea, Esther Doppelhamer of Albert Lea and Irma Leland of Bricelyn; uncle, Orlando (Evangelene) Meyer of Walters; many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by father, Henry, in 1958 and mother, Margaret, in 1992 and numerous aunts and uncles.

James C. Bauman

Services for James C. Bauman, 91, were Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Michael Miller officiated and interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano.

Casket bearers were grandsons, Ryan and Kurt Bauman, Josh Hance, John Kreft, Aaron Proctor, Mike Shelley and John Sprengeler.

Mr. Bauman died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 at the Monticello-Big Lake Nursing Home in Monticello. He was born May 20, 1911 in Franklin Township, the youngest son of William and Sophia (Matter) Bauman. He graduated from St. Peter's Catholic School and attended Delano High School. He married Lenore Pillatzki at St. Peter's Catholic Church Oct. 29, 1935. Ten children were born to them.

Mr. Bauman farmed for more than 50 years in the Delano area. In 1983 he and his wife moved to Lake Sullivan near Maple Lake. In 1997, Mr. Bauman moved to Mississippi Shores in Monticello. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Aid Association and the Delano Sportsman's Club.

Mr. Bauman enjoyed people-meeting and getting to know individuals of all ages. He took a sincere interest in them and never forgot them. People enjoyed his amazing sense of humor and his many little stories and sayings. He was an avid fisherman knowing when the walleyes and northerns were biting in the Crow River along his farm or the crappies and sunfish were biting in a nearby lake. He had a keen interest in the land and nature. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his large family and many friends.

Mr. Bauman is survived by sons, Ed of Lake City, Earl (Cherie) of St. Michael and Tom (Jenny) of Delano; daughters, Laura (Don) Shelley of Elk River, Marie (Arden) Kreft of Arlington, Irene (Marvin) Sprengeler of Plato, Janet (Larry) Hance of Buffalo and Jeanne (Keith) Proctor of Groton, Mass.; 35 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenore; daughters, Teresa Bauman and Leona Graupmann; brothers, George and Herbert; sisters, Agnes Schutz, Eleanore Marystone, Corola Muchenhirn VonBank, Gladys Frane and Lucille Smith; great-grandson, Luke Becker and Anthony Lang and son-in-law, Arnie Visser.

Haley Brown

Services for Haley Payton Brown, the infant child of Christopher and Tesa Brown, were Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Deacon Don Fidler lead the service.

Haley died in September of 2002.

The child is survived by her parents, Christopher and Tesa Brown of Buffalo; two brothers, Nickolas Brown and Elijah Bible; grandparents, Brad (Sandi) Brown of Princeton and Jerry (Diana) Bible of St. Michael; great-grandparents, Ellen Bible of Brainerd, Jeanne Johnson of Keosauqua, Iowa, Eunice Stachowski of Brooklyn Center, and Lester (Gladys) Brown of Rush City; several aunts and uncles; other relatives and friends.

George Deuel

Services for George Edward Deuel, 80, formerly of Brooklyn Park were at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct., 8, 2002, at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Rev. Tom Basich officiated. "Amazing Grace" and "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" were sung as congregational hymns.

Interment will take place Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at The Wheeling Cemetery in Wheeling, Mo.

Mr. Deuel died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002 at North Ridge Care Center in New Hope.

He was born Feb. 28, 1922, in Mansiville, Wyo., the son of George E. and Ida Stenbough Deuel Sr.

On Nov. 15, 1977, George E. Deuel and Marie M. Brown were joined in holy marriage at Advent Lutheran Church in Roseville.

Mr. Deuel was a longtime rancher in Wyoming and later worked for Thermo King in Minneapolis.

He played a Disciple for 15 years in the Black Hills' Passion Play in Spearfish, S.D. and formerly owned and operated The Antler Motel in Spearfish. He also helped build The Amphid Theater.

Mr. Deuel is survived by wife, Marie M. Deuel of St. Michael; a son, Kenneth (Jean) Deuel of Eagle Bend; grandsons, David (Estella) Deuel of Sartell and Benjamin Deuel of Eagle Bend; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Darrel (Mary) Deuel of Lusk, Wyo.; three sisters, Betty Harris of Cartersville, Ga., Darlene Flusch of Fort Atkinson, Wis., and Ruth Wiggam of Yuma, Colo.; six step-children, Ray (June) Anez, Kenda Brown-Helal, Don (Susan) Nihart Jr., Sharean Sarvari, Rajeana Wick and Gregory (Trish) Brown; 32 step grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jaunita; his parents, George E. and Ida Deuel Sr.; two sisters, Evelyn Anderson and Delores Duggan; and by a step son, James Earl Brown Jr.

Cecilia Dubisar

Services for Cecilia C. Dubisar, 74, of Osseo were Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

Interment was in St. Vincent's Cemetery in Osseo.

Mrs. Dubisar was preceded in death by her loving husband, Victor.

She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother of son and daughter in law, David and Brenda Dubisar of Crystal; daughters and son-in-law Vicki and David Nerva of Osseo and Colleen Dubisar of Montrose; two sisters, Martha Winans and Agnes Daire; and five grandchildren.

If so desired memorials may be given to the Cecilia Dubisar Memorial Fund.

Margaret A. Fisher

Services for Margaret A. Fisher, 81, of Anoka, took place Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Rev. Ed Barnett officiated. Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery in Anoka.

Ms. Fisher died Oct. 28 at Park River Estates Care Center in Coon Rapids. She was born June 20, 1921, in Anoka to Albert R. and Verna (Ricker) Fisher.

She was retired from Mork Hospital and Mercy Hospital.

Fisher is survived by brother, James (Edith) of Champlin; sisters, Shirley (Robert) Olson of St. Paul, Rachel Quade of Chicago, and Patricia (John) Goodrich of Idaho; also nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Luella Lutz; and parents, Albert and Verna Fisher.

Louise Georges

Services for Louise Gertrude Georges, 77, of Loretto were Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto.

Rev. Kevin Kenney officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kris Georges, Bryan Leber, Keith Georges, Adam Georges, Nicholas Georges and Shon Hissam.

Mrs. Georges died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at the Castle Ridge Care Center in Eden Prairie. She and her twin sister, Mary, were born Dec. 26, 1924, in their home in Wheaton, Minn. Her parents, Christian Van Lith and Elizabeth Croyman, were of Dutch descent. She grew up in a large family with seven brothers and seven sisters.

Mrs. Georges grew up in the Crystal area off of Bass Lake Rd. where she met her husband, Wally. He was a worker on their farm. They married Dec. 29, 1945. Together they opened a resort called Wally's Resort on Lake Independence, which is now Camp Ihduhapi.

In 1956 they moved to Lake Sarah and continued their love of meeting people by opening a very well known resort and dance hall, keeping the name Wally's Resort. They raised six children, four boys and two girls. While Mr. Georges was at work as a block layer with his brothers, Mrs. Georges managed to be up getting kids ready for school and making a big lunch for Mr. Georges and his brother, Harry. Mrs. Georges lost her husband April 27, 1980 to a battle with cancer.

She loved to bowl, do crossword and jigsaw puzzles and also play Euchre two to three times a week with her friends. She especially loved getting together with all her children and grandchildren on holidays and special occasions. Everyone who knew Mrs. Georges knows her heart was with God, family and friends, and will be deeply missed by all.

Mrs. Georges was preceded in death by husband, Walter; parents, Christian Van Lith and Elizabeth Croyman Miessen; granddaughter, Lynn Georges; brothers, Christian, Lawrence and Clifford; sister, Helen Bukowski, sister-in-law, Phyllis and brothers-in-law, Philip Marines and Leo Morin.

She is survived by sons, Roger (Lil) Georges, Duane Georges, Loran Georges and Lyle (Ginny) Georges; daughters, Alice (Joseph) Stoddard and Milissa (Curt) Heffelfinger; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Clement (Ida), Donald (Helen), Joseph (Martha) and Thomas (Betty); sisters, Ann Morin, Grace (Charles) Marines, Rose Marines, Dolores (John) Lyrenmann, Betty (Robert) Weise and Mary (Norman) Lieder; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Beverly; brother-in-law, Lambert Bukowski and many special friends.

Justin Kolles

Services for Justin Dale Kolles, 19, of Elk River were Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Michael Becker and Rev. Peter Richards were the concelebrants for the Mass, and interment followed in the St. Michael Cemetery.

Honorary casket bearers were Drew Scherber, Lincoln Hofmeister, Matt Blais, Ashley Brant, Derek Brant, Jesse Scherber, John Nemec, Matt Kessler, Eric Kolles and Michael Johnson.

Justin died accidentally Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002. He was born July 23, 1983, in Coon Rapids the son of Dale and Roberta Kessler Kolles.

He graduated from St. Michael-Albertville High School in June of 2002, and was currently employed as an apprentice installer at Builder's Carpet Inc.

He was a faithful member of The Church of St. Michael in St. Michael, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Justin is survived by his loving parents, Dale and Roberta "Bobbi" Kolles; brother, Trenton Kolles; sister, Estee Kolles; brother Dexter Kolles; paternal grandparents, Jerome and Valeria Kolles of Albertville; maternal grandmother, Esther Kessler of St. Michael; 37 aunts and uncles; 63 cousins; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Dale Kessler; aunts, Mary Kolles and Cecilia Kolles; and uncle Neil Luhmann.

John Kmetz

Services for John Thomas Kmetz, 77, of Maple Grove were Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Kmetz died Oct. 24, 2002, in Robbinsdale. He was born March 1, 1925, in Browerville. He was a member of St. Vincent's church, Osseo American Legion and Maple Lake VFW.

He is survived by wife of 54 years, Vennette; seven children, Gordon (Sue), Gary (Linda), Gloria (Mark) Jacques, Greg (Kathy), Gayle (Grant) Scherer, Grant, and Gabe (Christie); 15 grandchildren, and by numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kmetz was preceded in death by parents, Michael and Anna Kmetz; sisters, Helen Strzyzewski, Ann Lindquist, Elsie Susan, Mary Rapids and Millie Kmetz; brothers, Mike, Joe, Emil and George Kmetz.

If so desired memorials may be given to the John T. Kmetz Memorial Fund.

Gerald J. LeNoue

Services for Gerald J. LeNoue, 76, of Delano were Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Michael Miller officiated and military honors were provided by the Delano American Legion Post 377. Firefighter honors were provided by the Delano Fire Department. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano.

Pallbearers were Jack Russek, Craig Sinkel, Mark Motzko, RoxAnn Splettstozer, Cathy Hatzenberger and Lawrence Gagnon. Honorary bearers were Dathan Brummer, Amanda Brummer, Eliott Kranz, Alex Kranz, Dustin LeNoue, Brandon LeNoue, Nicholas Hintz and Andrea Hintz.

Mr. LeNoue died at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis Thursday, Oct. 24. He was born June 22, 1926, in Kent, Minn., the son of Leo and Pearl (Berg) LeNoue. He was a member of the Delano Fire Department for 20 years. He was also a member of the Delano American Legion Post 377. He worked at the Delano Granite Works for 27 years and retired from Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis after 17 years.

After retirement, Mr. LeNoue spent many hours on area lakes fishing with friends and grandchildren. He was active in community events. He also enjoyed cooking, dancing and gardening.

He is prececed in death by his wife, Isla (Lowe) LeNoue; parents, Leo and Pearl LeNoue; stepmother, Bernice LeNoue; brother, Warren "Shorty" LeNoue; sisters, Evelyn Otto and Carol Manha and infant sister, Carol LeNoue.

He is survived by wife, Ruth; daughters, Cherilyn Brummer of Watauga, Texas, and Susan (Phil) Kranz of St. Bonifacius; stepson, Byron (Linda) LeNoue of Anoka; stepdaughter, Roxann (Bill) Hintz of Anoka; grandchildren, Dathan Brummer, Amanda Brummer, Eliott Kranz, Alex Kranz, Dustin LeNoue, Brandon LeNoue, Nicholas Hintz and Andrea Hintz; brothers, Orville (Emma) LeNoue of Penn Valley, Calif., David (Diane) LeNoue of Pinole, Calif., and Robin LeNoue of California; sisters, Ruby Weege of Delano, Marge (Rollie) Trask of Sterling, Va., Bonnie (Clarence) Bjorkstrand of Minneapolis and Rosealie Myers of Overland Park, Kan.

John Lusian

Services for John J. Lusian, 52, of Hastings were Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.

Interment was in Maple Knoll Cemetery.

Mr. Lusian died Oct. 21, 2002, in Hastings. He was born Jan. 20, 1950, in Minneapolis. He was proud to have been a veteran and practicing member of AA. He was a loving father, sibling and friend. He loved the great outdoors, fishing, and spending time with family at the cabin.

He struggled with sobriety for many years and was proud to have reached one year of sobriety. He truly loved his family and daughter very much. The family is saddened and will miss him greatly.

Mr. Lusian is survived by daughter, Lisa and former wife and friend, Kathy; mother, Beverly; siblings, Sue, Steve (Pam), Rick (Rosie), Mark (Kathy), Gary (Peggy), and Sharon (Rick); nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard.

Memorial preferred to the family.

Pearl B. Allen

Services for Pearl B. Allen, 92, resident of Champlin for 66 years, are Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka, with Rev. Liane S. Rock officiating.

Mrs. Allen died Thursday, Oct. 17, at Mount Olivet Careview Home in Minneapolis.

She was born May 18, 1910, in Hoffman, Minn., the daughter of Peter and Bertha Peterson.

She was a clerk at the Champlin Post Office, a member of the Zion Lutheran Church for 66 years, as well as a member of the Chat and Chew Birthday Club, Champlin Knitting Club, Champlin Library Association, Champlin Women's Club and Zion Lutheran Church Women's Circle.

Mrs Allen is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Clyde, Sr.; sisters, Edna Goodrich and Hazel Johnson; brothers, Oscar, Myron and Dale Peterson.

She is survived by daughter, Sharon (Chellis) Matz; sons, Clyde, Jr. (Lois) and Gary (Anita); sisters, Margaret McAdam and Marion (Gaylord) Ahneman; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
