Rose J. Oeffling Hutter

Services for Rose J. Oeffling Hutter, 85, of Delano, formerly of Loretto, were Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto.

Rev. Brian Fier officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.

Casket bearers were Peter Dubay, Daniel Anderson, Matthew Kusilek, Randall Hartneck, Kenneth Hartneck and Timothy Boorse.

Mrs. Hutter died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, in Waconia. She was born May 23, 1918 to Herman and Julia (Santer) Klonne in Sauk Centre, Minn.

She was a lifelong resident of the Delano/Loretto area. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, until her move to Delano, where she became a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by first husband, Peter Oeffling, and second husband, Claude Hutter; three sisters and one brother. She is survived by daughters, Lorraine (Ron) Hartneck, Marjorie Kusilek-Dalbec, Marie (Henry) Dubay and Carolyn Anderson; sons, John Oeffling, Donald Oeffling and Dennis Oeffling and special friend, Karen; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Meuleners and brother, Don (Donna) Klonne.

Donovan "Don" Schnell

Services for Donovan "Don" Schnell, 64, of Delano, were Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Delano.

Rev. Lee Hallstrom officiated. Casket bearers were Dustine Jerde, Tristin Schnell, Brandon Schnell, Alicia Jerde, Tyler Jerde, Seth Schnell and Bailey Schnell. Honorary bearers were Clint Jerde, Paul Muckenhirn, Jennifer Muckenhirn, Ryan Dalchow and Dominique Stone.

Mr. Schnell died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, in Minneapolis. He was born Nov. 18, 1938 to Mark and Hjordis (Ingberg) Schnell in Minot, N.D.

Mr. Schnell was active. He enjoyed coaching the seventh grade softball team at Delano as well as being active in a variety of different community events. Children, especially grandchildren, were his focus. He enjoyed working with wood, as well as spending time with his horses. He was an avid Nascar fan. He lived life, with the motto "Please give me one more year." He was the 58th recipient of a heart transplant at the University of Minnesota Hospital. his family would like to thank the family who provided the donor heart, which allowed them to have these past 17 and one-half years together. They also would like to send a special thank you to the staff at the University of Minnesota Hospital for the special care they extended to Mr. Schnell.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Deanna; parents; and brother, Marcus. He is survived by wife, Donna (Kantorowicz) of 43 years; daughters, Debi (Glen) Muckenhirn and Denise (Mark) Jerde; grandchildren, Dustine and Clinton Jerde, Jennifer Muckenhirn, Tristin Schnell, Brandon Schnell, Paul Muckenhirn, Alicia Jerde, Tyler Jerde, Seth Schnell and Bailey Schnell; great-grandchild, Dominique Stone; sisters, Donna Mae Byrne, Connie (Steve) DelAndrea; sister-in-law, Joyce Schnell and many other relatives.

Conrad L. Berg

Services for Conrad L. Berg, 74, of the Minnesota Masonic Home, formerly of Brooklyn Park were Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at the Minnesota Masonic Home.

A Masonic and prayer service was Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery Monday, Oct. 20, 2003.

Mr. Berg died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, in Robbinsdale. He was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Minneapolis.

He was a member of Lake Harriet Lodge 277, Lake Harriet OES 202, Scottish Rite Zurah Shrine, 5th RCT Korean Veteran, Immanuel United Methodist Church and the Osseo American Legion.

Mr. Berg also served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Sue (Tim) Uhde of Brooklyn Park; grandchildren, Candace and Cole; sister, Jean Dunn of Sandy, Utah; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerald and Jean Emholtz of River Falls, Wis.; and two nephews and six nieces.

If so, desired memorials may be given to the Minnesota Masonic Home, Immanuel United Methodist Youth Program or the donor's choice.

Corrine K. Butenhoff-Slama

Services for Corrine K. Butenhoff-Slama, 76, were Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Home in Delano.

Pastor Paul Marggraf officiated. Pallbearers were Earl Butenhoff, Howard Manthei, Dale Dirks, Dan Kramin, Milo Gustafson, Dean Gustafson, Lloyd Nord and Peg Feia.

Mrs. Butenhoff-Slama died Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Haven Homes in Maple Plain. She was born Oct. 23, 1926 to Frederick G. and Regina M. (Loock) Kramin in Renville, Minn.

She was preceded in death by parents, Frederick and Regina Kramin; first husband, Gilbert H. Butenhoff and brother, Bill. She is survived in her first family by son, Barry (Lynne) Butenhoff; grandchildren, Lisa (Jason) Campbell and Amanda (Chad) Moss; sister, Margaret Dirks; brother, Howard (Norma) Kramin and sister-in-law, Janet (Bill) Kramin. She is survived in her second family by husband, Marvin Slama and his son, Steve (Diane) Slama, and their daughter, Katie; daughter, Sandra (Dan) Anderson and their children, Thomas and Rebecca; daughter, Laurel Houghton and son, Matthew, along with many loving nieces, nephews and the extended Butenhoff, Kramin and Slama families.

Brian L. Callander

Services for Brian L. Callander, 45, of Albertville were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Word of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers.

Rev. Rick Skare officiated and interment followed at Word of Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Hassan Township.

Mike Sahlen was the organist for the funeral service.

Casket bearers were Brad Dalbec, Frank Taylor, Bill Rowe, Scott Peterson, Ron Peterson and Emil Rutten.

Mr. Callander died Tuesday evening, Oct. 14, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. He was born Oct. 12, 1958, in Minneapolis the son of Roger and Nancy Chelmo Callander.

On Jan. 10, 1981, Brian L. Callander and Liane B. Berndt were joined in holy marriage in Minneapolis. God blessed their marriage with two children.

Mr. Callander was employed as a laborer. He loved the out of doors and also his dog Toby.

Mr. Callander belonged to Word of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers.

He is survived by loving wife, Liane Callander; children, Beth Lee (Charlie) Gerth of Princeton and Eric Brian Callander at home; mother, Nancy Callander of Brooklyn Park; a sister, Debbie Callander of Greenfield; and a brother, Paul Callander of Brooklyn Park.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Callander; and by a brother, Mark Callander.

He will be deeply missed by his family, many caring relatives and friends.

Leon Corbin

Services for Leon L. "Butch" Corbin, 56, of St. Michael were Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Catholic Church of Mary, Queen of Peace in Rogers.

Rev. Mark Moriarty was the celebrant and interment followed at St. Martin's Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Larry and Mike McAlpine, John DeMars, Doug Vasseur, Jerry Schirmers and Jerry Holland.

Mr. Corbin died early Sunday morning, Oct. 12, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. He died surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov. 26, 1946, in Anoka. He was the son of Vern and Dolores "Corky" Dean Corbin.

Mr. Corbin attended grade school in Dayton and went to Elk River High School. He met his wife of 34 years at one of the many Friday night dances they attended, at the St. Michael ballroom.

On July 13, 1968, Leon L. Corbin and Donna M. Martin were joined in holy matrimony at the St. Albert's Catholic Church in Albertville. God blessed their union with a son, Brett.

Mr. Corbin worked many years in construction and was a member of both the Laborer's and 49ers union. He also worked at Super Value as a maintenance worker and in later years as a machinist at Hoagenmister Machine in Osseo. For a short time he also helped deliver flowers for St. Michael Floral.

His growing up years were spent hunting at his grandma and grandpa Dean's farm in St. Michael. He loved nature and being out in the woods. As he got older he quit hunting but his love for the outdoors never ended.

In later years he bought a fish house which we kept stored at Cozy Cove then at Rocky Reef on Lake Mille Lacs. His passion was ice fishing and going to the casino, but when he was home he loved watching the birds and just hanging around with his son Brett, Brett's fiancee, Lorissa, and his wife, Donna. Whenever he got a chance he would go to Duluth and watch the ships come in at Canal Park.

Mr. Corbin had a gift for making people laugh; his quick wit and sense of humor were well known to everyone he met. He was devoted to his family, especially his son, who meant everything to him.

He is survived by loving wife, Donna Corbin; son, Brett Corbin and fiancee, Lorissa; a sister and brothers, Cheryl (Mike) McAlpine, Doug (Barb) Corbin and Larry (Lori) Corbin; mother-in-law, Mildred Martin; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Duane Martin, Audrey (Archie) Kilian, Arlene (Loren) Dehmer, Gene Martin, Joanne (Pete) Monson, Diane (Jerry) Milless, Betty (Larry) McAlpine, Jerry (Mona) Martin, Mary (Jerry) Holland, Eldon (Leanne) Martin, Linda (Gene) Kirk, Theresa (Terry) Bourgeois, Dale (Bev) Martin, Danny Martin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Dolores "Corky" Corbin; and infant sister, Susan Corbin; and father-in-law, Alrick Martin.

Mavis L. DuBois

Services for Mavis L. DuBois, 76, of Maple Grove were Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Brooklyn United Methodist Church in Brooklyn Center.

Interment was private and for the family.

She passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003. She was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Bozeman, Mont. to Benjamin and Kathleen Purdom.

Mrs. DuBois is retired from US West and spent years camping, traveling, and spending time with those she loved.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Vale, Charlene Ablan, and Linda Bornhuse; brother, Raymond (Jean) Purdom; grandchildren, Heidi (Mike) Bornhuse-Hanson, Shannon Bornhuse, Jennifer Nisbit, Joshua DuBois, Travis DuBois, and Ashley DuBois; great-grandson, Russell Lannier step-children, Don (Joyce) DuBois, Darlene Tilton, Jerry (Bev) DuBois, Jim (Karen) DuBois, and their families; also by Karl Bornhuse, Deb (Wayne) Lannen, Randy (Karen) Purdom, and many wonderful friends.

Mrs. DuBois is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde DuBois; son, Kenneth DuBois; son-in-law, Jerry Vale; and step-daughter, Barb Gallagher.

Brandon J. Fish

Services for Brandon Jay Fish, 40, of Apple Valley were Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Fourth Baptist Church in Plymouth.

Interment was at Holy Name Cemetery.

Mr. Fish was called home to be with the lord Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003. He took up his cross and persevered through a three year battle with brain cancer.

He was surrounded daily by his love for cars at Dodge of Burnsville. Prior to Dodge of Burnsville, he was employed by Cullinan Creative Group in Minneapolis.

Mr. Fish was a born-again Christian with a hunger for God's truth. He was proud to be an American and had some involvement with local politics.

He was also athletic. He ran Grandma's Marathon in '94 and '95 and participated in the 1993 Gopher State Body Building contest.

Mr. Fish enjoyed landscaping and being out in God's creation - hiking, biking, water-skiing, running and snowmobiling.

He was a devoted family man and an active member of Eden Baptist Church in Savage. This is the church where he was saved, baptized, and married.

Mr. Fish was a hard-worker, early-riser and an all-around great guy.

He is survived by his wife of six and half years, Jennifer, and their children, Dawson (5), Audrey (4), and Olivia (2); parents, Ron Fish and Marlys Schaefer; sisters, Lisa (Dale) Novak, Sara (James) Blake, Angela Fish, Christie Fish; brother, Eric (Garieanne) Fish; grandma, Florence Schaefer; nieces, nephews; close relatives, many friends, neighbors and loyal car customers.

Mr. Fish is preceded in death by brother, Justin; grandpa, Matthew Schaefer; great-grandpa, Les Ahrens; grandma, Doris Fish; and uncle, Mark Schaefer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to his family.

Sylvester Pysick

Services for Sylvester "Sart" Pysick, 92, of Delano, were Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Michael Miller officiated and interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Delano.

Pallbearers were Don Twedt, Robb McWilliams, Don Fritz, Craig Jensen, Randy Lokken and Leo Wertish.

Mr. Pysick died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. He was born Aug. 27, 1911, in Watertown, the son of John and Mary (Fake) Pysick. He was married to Lorraine Stralka. They resided at 2750 County Line Rd. in Delano where Mr. Pysick farmed for many years.

Mr. Pysick was on the local creamery board and also the Farm Bureau Board. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Delano and was active in many of their church activities. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Above all, he was always a willing worker as long as he was able.

He loved "old time music" and devoted many hours to playing his accordion in a small band for churches, weddings, parties, house warmings, all the local nursing homes and many other get-togethers. He was an avid gardener in his retirement years.

He was preceded in death by wife, Lorraine. He is survived by niece, Mary Warner; cousins; many friends and special friend, Joyce Twedt and her family, who viewed him as a grandfather: Terri Twedt, Judy and Craig Jensen, Cynthia and Robb McWilliams and Brenda and Randy Lokken and their six children.

Della Mae Ramstad

Services for Della Mae Ramstad, 81, of Plymouth, formerly of Jamestown, N.D., were Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 at Wayzata Community Church, Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 10 a.m.

Interment was at Highland Home Cemetery in Jamestown, N.D.

Mrs. Ramstad died Oct. 17, 2003.

She was the former president of O.W. Fode Companies, of Jamestown, N.D., where she resided until moving to Plymouth in 1980 to work as a volunteer in her son's first campaign for the Minnesota Senate.

Mrs. Ramstad was a member of numerous civic, charitable and fraternal organizations, including the American Legion Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, Jamestown and Wayzata Area Chambers of Commerce, American Association of University Women, Business and Professional Women's Club, and the University of North Dakota Alumni Association.

She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church, Republican Party and Delta Gamma Sorority.

Mrs. Ramstad was a 1943 graduate of the University of North Dakota, where she established the annual Oscar and Amelia Fode Memorial Law Lecture. She pursued her master's degree at the University of Chicago.

Above all, Mrs. Ramstad was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to people from all walks of life. She was loved by all, and her priorities of faith, family and friends are her lasting legacy. She's kind, gentle and loving spirit will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Ramstad is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Marvin J. Ramstad; her children, U.S. Congressman Jim Ramstad and Minnesota Tax Court Judge Sheryl Ramstad; her grandchildren, Sarah Yoon Hvass, Charles T. Hvass III and Kristina Amelia Hvass; her cousins, Dr. James E. and LuAnne Gjerset, of Grand Forks, N.D.; Dr. Quentin and Gay Zimmerman, of Jamestown, N.D.; her brother-in-law, A. William and Winifred Ramstad, of Seattle, WA., and many nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar W. and Amelia Z. Fode.

Memorials preferred to the Minnesota-Dakotas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association or Mayo Foundation Alzheimer's Research.
