Evelyn Olive Johnson

Private family services for Evelyn Olive Johnson, 82, of Delano, were Sunday, July 13, 2003, at the Lewisberg Cemetery in Lewisberg, Minn.

Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at the Delano Healthcare Center. She was born April 17, 1921 to George and Helga (Ogren) Borgerson in Lau Qua Parle County in Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. G. Johnson.

Ida M. Meuleners

Services for Ida M. Meuleners, 84, of Cologne, were Monday, July 14, 2003, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Cologne.

Fr. George Thoomkuzhy officiated and interment was in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.

Casket bearers were grandchildren, Thomas Meuleners, Jeff Vanderlinde, Alecia Meuleners, Krystal Meuleners, Sherry Urness, William Richter, Timothy Meuleners and Janice Vanderlinde.

Mrs. Meuleners died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. She was born April 26, 1919 in Waconia Township, the daughter of John J. and Margaret (Wagener) Jansen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waconia. She married Leo J. Meuleners May 25, 1946 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waconia by Fr. Albert Heer.

Mrs. Meuleners was a member of the St. Bernard's Catholic Aid Society, where she was fraternal secretary for many years. They held a rosary service for Mrs. Meuleners at the visitation. She also was a member of the Cologne VFW Auxiliary, they stood guard and held a military graveside service.

She enjoyed quilting at church, sewing, gardening and working with flowers.

She was preceded in death by husband, Leo; son; parents, John and Margaret Jansen; sisters, Cora Klepperich and Lucille Jansen; and brothers, Gilbert, George, Ruben and Anthony Jansen.

She is survived by children and spouses, Judy and John "Huns" Vanderlinde of Delano, Ronald and Renee Meuleners of Henderson, Donna and James Ricther of Young America, John and Julie Meuleners of Belle Plaine and Arthur and Bev Meuleners of Cologne; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Brown of Cologne and Katheryn and Gilbert Hoen of Waconia; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Bernadette Jansen of Cologne, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Harriet Meuleners of Cologne, Leonard and Eleanor Meuleners of Cologne and Vangie and Leo Schneider of Waconia; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Norberto Espejo Reyna

Services for Norberto Espejo Reyna, 71, of Delano were Saturday, July 12, 2003, at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano.

Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Delano.

Mr. Reyna died Friday, July 4, 2003, at his son's home in Delano. He was born May 7, 1932, to Joseph and Maria (Espejo) Reyna in Brownsville, Texas.

The Crow River lost one of her long time friends due to natural causes. "Beto" enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping and bonfires along the Crow River. Mr. Reyna was raised by his mother, and she taught him to value family and to respect all people that he met.

After the death of his grandson, Robert, in 1979, Mr. Reyna moved to Minnesota. He and his first wife, Dorothy, had four children together: Bonita (Tim), Robert (Nancy), Thomas (Pat) and Denise (Kermit). After his divorce from Dorothy in the late 60s, he married Barbara. This union produced three children: Roy, Norberto (Lisa Brown) and Kevin (Angie "Angel"). In the late 70s, Mr. and Mrs. Reyna divorced. At this time Mr. Reyna met and married Joan, and together they had Thomas. Mrs. Reyna died when Thomas was 6 years old and Mr. Reyna raised this son on his own.

A part of Papa passed on with his soulmate, Joan. Mr. Reyna pulled all his children into one large family, loving each and every one. Family and friends were the focus of his life.

He served his country in the Army and was a proud returnee from active duty in Korea.

Mr. Reyna was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan; brother, Jose Reyna, Jr.; grandsons, Bobby and Michael Reyna; sisters, Olga Antonia Reyna Dycus and Gloria Reyna Sylvester; and nephew, Eliae David Vasquaz.

He is survived by children, Bonita (Tim), Robert (Nancy), Thomas (Pat), Denise (Kermit), Roy, Norberto (Lisa Brown), Kevin (Angie) and Thomas; brothers, Homero Reyna and Mario Reyna; sisters, Maria Luisa Reyna Calzada, Irma Reyna Vasquez, Minerva Reyna Via and Judy Reyna Saldana.

Patrick Scanlon

Services for Patrick G. Scanlon, 73, of Loretto were Thursday, July 10, 2003, at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Loretto with Rev. Brian Fier, officiating.

Honor Guards were provided by Knights of Columbus Nicollet Assembly, Loretto Volunteer Fire Department and the Delano American Legion Post 377.

Visitation was held at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano Wednesday, July 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Further visitation was held Thursday morning for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Patrick's four sons and three grandsons.

Mr. Scanlon died peacefully at his home Monday, July 7, 2003. The son of Daniel and Marie (Geary) Scanlon, he was born Oct. 30, 1929, in Chatham Township. He was married to Catholine Meyer.

Mr. Scanlon is survived by his wife of 52 years, Catholine; sons: Leon and Cheryl, Dale and special friend, Sue, Thomas and Ann, and Larry and fiancée, Colleen; grandchildren: Benjamin, Brandon, and William; sister, Lois and William Padden and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Daniel and Marie; daughter-in-law, Rita; three brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Scanlon attended the University of Minnesota, served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the Loretto Lions Club, and a retired volunteer firefighter for the city of Loretto. He was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus. He served as a past Grand Knight of his local Knights of Columbus Council 9601, and past District Deputy. He was also extremely active in the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Nicollet Assembly, where he served as the Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight and as past Faithful Navigator.

Kenneth O. Belanger

Services for Kenneth O. Belanger, 86, of Waite Park, formerly Kimball were Thursday, July 10, 2003 at the Crystal Hills Assembly of God Church near Paynesville.

Mr. Belanger died Sunday, July 6, 2003 at the Sterling Park Health Care Center in Waite Park. He was born June 10, 1917 in Crosby. He was the son of Joseph and Ella (Haroux) Belanger.

He was married to Kathleen Kelly on May 17, 1943 in St. Cloud. Mr. Belander was an accountant for several year before beginning his teaching career at the Dunwoody Institute and the St. Paul Vo. Tech. School.

Mr. Belanger is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Waite Park; sons, Kenneth Jr. of Maple Grove, Stephen of Eagan, Kelly of Brooklyn Center; daughter, Mary Kay Belanger of New York, N.Y.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Rathe of St. Cloud, Odile Belanger of St. Cloud; and brother, Stephen (Ethel) Belanger of Camarillo, C.A.

Mary V. Borsch

Services for Mary V. Borsch, 82, of Maple Grove will be Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.

Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mrs. Borsch died Sunday, July 6, 2003, in Anoka. She was born Dec. 5, 1920, in Robbinsdale.

She is survived by her son, Donald Jr. and wife Darlene of Maple Grove; daughter, Judith Pelshaw of Coon Rapids; brother, Roy Rasmussen of Oregon; sisters, Merle Rasmussen, Marlys Belmar and Mavis Hutchins, all of California; grandchildren, Rob Borsch (Suzy) of Plymouth, Doug Borsch (Kristina) of Crystal, Jeana Mikyska (Joe) of East Bethel and Mari-Jo Pelshaw of Brooklyn Park; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Tyler, Nathan, Kalista, Brandon and Joey.

Mrs. Borsch is preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Sr.

If so, desired memorials may be given to the Mary V. Borsch Memorial Fund.

Paul D. Johnsen

Memorial service for Doctor Paul D. Johnsen, 50, of Maple Grove was Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Church of the Open Door in Maple Grove.

He died from cancer Wednesday, July 2, 2003.

Dr. Johnsen was a clinical psychologist and a professor in the Master's program at St. Mary's College in Minneapolis. He touched lives in a special way and will be forever missed.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Justin and Darrin; mother, Fran; sister, Linda (Jim) Atherton; brothers, Bill (Susan) LeSuer, Gary (Brenda); and 11 nieces and nephews.

Dr. Johnsen is preceded in death by his father, Donald.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to ElderZest or St. Mary's College.

Carol J. Larson

Services for Carol J. (Mero) Larson, 70, of Champlin were Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka.

Interment was at the Champlin Cemetery.

Mrs. Larson died Saturday, July 5, 2003 of a brain tumor.

Survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Dale; children, Loralee (Christopher), Thomas (D'Ette) and Sandra; grandchildren, Thomas Jr., Melissa (Chuck), Michael (Michelle), Tom and Elizabeth; great-granddaughter, Katherine; brothers, Allan, Richard (Lorraine) and Douglas (Bobbe); sister-in-law, Marilyn Larson; cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Carol will be deeply missed by her family and friends who cherished their memories and know that she is in the presence of our faithful Lord.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society, where Carol was a long-time employee, or to the donor's choice.

Harold Maupin

Services for Harold W. Maupin, 81, of Champlin were Monday, July 7, 2003, at the Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home in Anoka.

Mr. Maupin had a passion for music and played the drums in several bands throughout the country. Later he was the lighting director and floor supervisor at KARE 11-TV.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harold "Buddy" Holmes.

He is survived by wife, Kathleen; daughters Ameda (David) Williams and Edee (Randy) Fredrickson; son, Guy (Lisa) Maupin; sister, Lillian Haynes; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends,

Interment was private at the Champlin Cemetery.

Robert F. "Bob" Munn

Services for Robert "Bob" Francis Munn, 53, of north Minneapolis, formerly of Osseo were Friday, July 11, 2003 at St. Bridgets Catholic Church in Minneapolis.

He loved all he crossed paths with and died peacefully, surrounded by his wife and children, Saturday, July 5, 2003. Mr. Munn was born March 5, 1950.

Mr. Munn was a comic spirit, a loving man. He endured a six year battle with cancer and never lost his passion for life. He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 120. Mr. Munn is loved and will be missed greatly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Audrie; children, Nellie, Louis, and little Audie; number five of the "dirty dozen", Bob leaves behind his siblings Larry, Ray (Nina), Pat (Jon) Moulton, Jim, Ed (Sandy), Steve, Mike, Mary (John) Magnuson, Annette (Jim) Rassatt, Bonnie and Kenny; special sister-in-law, Mary Anderson-Edwards; uncle to 36, great-uncle to 28; friends too numerous to mention.

Mr. Munn is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marie.

Melvin Tolzman

Services for Melvin Walter Tolzman, 68, of Loretto were Sunday, June 29, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

Rev. Dennis K. Strong officiated and interment with military rites followed at The Concordia Lutheran Cemetery in Fairhaven.

Casket bearers were Curt Reid, Rick Reid, Steven Reid, Jeff Reid, Bill Erickson and Michael Faue.

Mr. Tolzman died Tuesday, June 24, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

He was born Oct. 23, 1934, in Fairhaven, the son of Walter and Martha Schmidt Tolzman.

He was baptized at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven Jan. 20, 1935. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven March 21, 1948.

Mr. Tolzman honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.

On Sept. 5, 1987, Melvin Tolzman and Joanne Muehring were joined in holy marriage at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven.

Mr. Tolzman was employed in construction for many years.

He was a faithful member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Tolzman; daughter, Elizabeth Tolzman of Seattle, Wash.; four step-children, Cynthia Faue of St. Paul, Joan Lindquist of Albertville, Vicki (Michael) Dellwo of Rockford and Jeffrey Muehring of St. Michael; nine step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Delores (Ralph) Reid of Annandale; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Martha Tolzman.

Judith Wyman

A memorial service for Judith Wyman, 69, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Maple Grove was Saturday, July 12, 2003 at the Maple Grove Lutheran Church.

She passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 29, 2003.

Mrs. Wyman grew up in Duluth, was a resident of Maple Grove for 22 years and recently resided in New Port Richey, Fla.

She is survived by her husband, Norman; daughters, Debra Sherlock (Tim) Sherlock and Beth (Jim) Rutherford; son, Curtis Wyman (Shelly Carter-Wyman); granddaughters, Evan and Madeline Sherlock and Kaitlyn Carter; grandsons, Corey Rutherford and Conlan Carter; sister, Kay Wick; and many other wonderful relatives and friends.

Mrs. Wyman is preceded in death by her father, Alan; and mother, Mamie Brown.

She led an active life and loved to travel, golf and belonged to many arts and crafts social groups. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
