Terry L. Goblish
Services for Terry L. Goblish, 47, of Shakopee were Monday, April 21, 2003, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shakopee.
Interment was at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Shakopee.
Mrs. Goblish is survived by her daughter, Katheryn (Craig) Simon of Maple Grove; sons, Blake and Alex of Shakopee; parents, Robert and Helen Talley of Donna, Texas; grandchildren, Abigail Jefferson, Naomi and Lauren Simon; sisters, Robin Bray of Shakopee and Jacquelyn Holcutt of Enid, Okla.
Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.
Loretta Guzek
Services for Loretta A. Guzek (Vavorsky), 63, of Albertville are Monday, April 14, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. with one hour visitation prior to Mass at St. Albert's Catholic Church of Albertville.
Interment immediately follows at St. Albert's Cemetery.
Mrs. Guzek died Wednesday, April 9, at North Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Mrs. Guzek was born July 24, 1939, in Pisek, N.D., to Frank and Ann Vavorsky. The family moved to Minneapolis in 1949. She and Roger Guzek married Sept. 3, 1960. They lived in Northeast Minneapolis before moving to Rogers in 1972. She had been an Albertville resident for the past seven years.
Mrs. Guzek will be most remembered by her warm love and good conversations. She was also well known for her love of flowers, birds, baking and a creative flare for crafts and computer designs.
Mrs. Guzek was a full-time homemaker for more than 20 years before working as a teacher's aide at Rogers Elementary School. She then worked as an administrative assistant for School Dist 728. She retired in May 2002 after 17 years of service.
She was active in many community events and a member of the St. Michael Be-frienders support group.
She is survived by husband, Roger Guzek; and six children, Renee (Greg) Vetsch, Cheryl Statz, Lisa (Guy) Monteni, Theresa (Patrick) Sweeney, Lorianne and Roger Jr.; 13 grandchildren, Maureen, Luke, Taylor and Gabriella Vetsch, Jarilyn, Jenny and Joel Smith, Paul, Joseph, John, Angela and Theresa Statz, and Marly Guzek; brother and sisters, Richard Vavorsky, Marie Friensdahl, Darlene Sekora and many special friends.
Genevieve Mary Herron
Services for Genevieve Mary Herron (Neaton) nee Frank, 84, of Watertown, were Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown.
Fr. Frank Wampach officiated and interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Mrs. Herron's eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Herron died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Elim Care Home in Watertown. She was born Nov. 12, 1918, in Braham, Minn., the daughter of Henry and Nellie (Sutton) Frank.
She was a long-time resident of Watertown and she was an elementary school teacher for almost 40 years. She began teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in Woodland Township and continuing at schools in Delano, Winsted and Lester Prairie.
She is survived by daughter, Colleen (Dan) Dooley; sons, Patrick (Nancy) Neaton and Paul (Holly) Neaton; grandchildren, Matt and Mark Dooley, Courtney Neaton and fiance Derek Olson and Meghan, Liz, Nick, Sam and Peter Neaton; great-granddaughter, Shelby Neaton; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph Neaton and Edward Herron.
John C. Holt
Services for John Charles Holt, 59, of Brooklyn Center were Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Advent Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.
Mr. Holt died Thursday, April 3, 2003, in Robbinsdale. He was born Oct. 18, 1943, in Minneapolis.
He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church.
Mr. Holt is survived by wife, Kathy; children, Sean (Kate) Holt, Siobhana (John) Thomas, Kadel Holt, Shea Holt, and Kirk Callier; two grandchildren; siblings, Edward (Sandy) Kesller, Larry (Becca) Blackburn, Garald (Barb) Blackburn, Patrick Kesller, Richard Kesller, and Cathy (Jim) Prybilla; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret C. Kesller.
Steven R. Hooper
Memorial service for Steven R. Hooper, 59, of Maple Grove was Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Hopkins United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hooper was the territorial manager of the Keebler Co.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Robin Hooper of Minneapolis, Anthony Hooper of Maple Grove, Timothy (Stacey) Nelson of Plymouth, and Carrie (Keith) McKellips of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dalton and Nicholas McKellips, and Brady and Abigail Nelson; mother, Ruth Hooper of Hopkins; brothers, Harry (Marty) Hooper of Brainerd, and Dale (Judith) Hooper of Lakeville; sister, Barbara (John) McCashin of Minnetonka; nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Bonnie (Jan) Bruinooge of Maple Grove and Stephen Zemke of Blaine.
Mr. Hooper is preceded in death by his father, Gilbert.
The interment was private. Memorials are preferred.
Agnes C. Japs
Services for Agnes C. Japs, 93, of Maple Grove were Thursday, April 3, 2003, at the Church of St. Joseph the Worker in Maple Grove.
Interment was private.
Mrs. Japs is survived by her daughter, Pat; daughter-in-law, Jane Kinn; grandsons, Pete, Mike (Courtney); great-granddaughter, Chloe; siblings, Florence Joyce, Rochelle Martinson, LeRoy "Bud" Murphy; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Quentin; and son, Michael.

Agnes M. Jobes
Services for Agnes M. Jobes, 93, of Brooklyn Center, formerly of Maple Grove, were Monday, March 31, 2003, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.
Interment was at Weaver Lake Cemetery in Maple Grove.
Mrs. Jobes died Friday, March 28, 2003, in Brooklyn Center. She was born Dec. 27, 1909, in Maple Grove.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Boucher; son, Mike O'Neil; grandchildren, Brad (Barb) Boucher, Timm (Mary Pat) Jobes, Todd (Cyndi) Jobes, Toni (Ryan) Duke, Tracy (Gerri) Jobes, Ryan O'Neil, and Leslie (Randy) Frey; great-grandchildren, Alex, Andy and Adam Boucher, Allie, Jordan, Kali, Aubri and Mayci Jobes, Brendon, Abbi, Duke, Angela, Alicia and Ashlyn Frey; other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Jobes is preceded in death by her husband, Albert; and son, Rodney.
Manuel L. Martinez
Services for Manuel L. "Marty" Martinez, 79, of Osseo were Monday, April 14, 2003, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Interment was at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Osseo. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Mr. Martinez died Thursday, April 10, 2003, in Fridley. He was born April 8, 1924, in Cisco, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, LaVonne; children, Judy (Chris) Martinez-Sones of Chanhassen, Dolores (Stephen) Varichak of Fridley, Jim of Chandler, Ariz., Victor (Melissa) of Rogers, Steven (Joanie) of Prior Lake, Ramon of Osseo, Jason (Nancy) of Brooklyn Park, and Mark (Michele) of Champlin; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sister, Fermina Hernandez of Minneapolis; sister-in-law, Paula Martinez of St. Paul; and brother-in-law, Ramon Devora of Minneapolis.
Eleanor M. McNeely
Services for Eleanor M. McNeely, 96, of Waverly were Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly.
Fr. Ray Prybis officiated and interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William McNeely, Sr., John McNeely, John Wiedman, Paul Taylor, Daniel Seaberg and William McNeely, Jr.
She died Monday, April 14, 2003, at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Home in Howard Lake. She was born Dec. 8, 1906, to John L. and Margaret (O'Hara) McNeely in Montrose.
She retired from the M and St. L Railroad. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly, serving actively in her church in a variety of ways over the years.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Thomas R. Montan
Services for Thomas R. Montan, 46, of Maple Grove were Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Washburn-McReavy Northeast Chapel in Minneapolis.
Mr. Montan died peacefully Monday, March 24, 2003.
He is survived by his sons, Chris, Andrew and Matthew; parents, Robert and Delia; sister, Nancy (Leonard) Floberg; brothers, Gerald (Andrea) and James; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Memorials are preferred to the ALS Society.
Randalyn Radke
Services for Randalyn Radke, 80, Minneapolis, formerly of Champlin, were Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at the Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Mrs. Radke was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Minneapolis to James Miller and Jeanette (Randall). She died March 7, 2003, at her daughter's home in Champlin.
She was married to Loren A. Radke and worked as a homemaker.
Mrs. Radke was preceded in death by her husband, Loren A. Radke. She is survived by her children, L. James (Joan), Punky Jackson, Eric (Sue), and Ella Jean; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret McAnaney.
Joyce Rae Scott
Memorial services for Joyce Rae Scott, 72, of Champlin, were Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota Brooklyn Park Chapel.
Mrs. Scott died peacefully at home Wednesday, March 26, after a one-year courageous battle with lung cancer. She was preceded in death by husband, Lloyd "Scotty;" and parents, Hershall and Ina Thompson.
She is survived by children, Greg, Diane, Gary and Nancy Scott-Larson; grandsons, Dillion and Ryan; a sister, Wanda (Carl) Parkinson; brothers, Steve (Marilyn) Thompson, Robert Thompson; and a special friend, Lois Christensen.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
George Sobtzak
Memorial service for George Sobtzak, 74, of Maple Grove, formerly of LaPrairie, was Thursday, April 10, 2003, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota-Brooklyn Park Chapel.
Mr. Sobtzak died Tuesday, April 8, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughters, Deedre (William) Fontaine, Denise (Ed) Lucz, Teri Sobtzak, Tracy (Rick) Magler; sons, Brian and Mark Sobtzak; seven grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and step-grandchildren; brothers, Ray, Ed and Richard Sobtzak; sisters, Stella Cook and Rose Riskovich; other relatives and friends.
Mr. Sobtzak is preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Julia.
Interment will be at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Coleraine.
Jayke T. Shilts
Services for Jayke T. Shilts, 2 days old, of Otsego were Friday, April 4, 2003, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.
Interment was at Rush Creek Cemetery in Maple Grove.
Jayke died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in Minneapolis. He was born Sunday, March 20, 2003, in St. Louis Park.
He is survived by parents, Renee and Aaron Shilts of Otsego; grandparents, Gayle Linthicum of Overland Park, Kan., Russ Linthicum of Shawnee, Kan., Tom and Cathie Shilts of Marshfield, Wis.; great-grandparents, Robert and Carol Patten of Stanley, Wis., and Wilfred and Fern Shilts of Stanley, Wis.
Memorials may be given to the Jayke T. Shilts memorial fund.
Matthew J. Stegall
Services for Matthew J. Stegall, 19, of Becker, formerly of Maple Grove, were Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Becker.
Interment was at the church cemetery. He died Wednesday, April 2, 2003.
He is survived by his mother, Jean of Becker; brothers, Christopher Niedzielski of McGregor, Thomas Niedzielski of St. Michael, Joseph Niedzielski of Houston, Texas, and Tom Stegall of Milwaukee, Wis.; sisters, Laurie of Brooklyn Park, Della of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Loretta of St. Paul Park; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Stegall; and grandparents, Bill and Florence McPherson, and Ezekiel and Mary Stegall.
