Gregory Roehl

Services for Gregory Nicholas Roehl, 82, of Albertville were Saturday, March 22, 2003, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Michael Becker was the celebrant for the Mass and interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Mr. Roehl's seven grandsons.

Mr. Roehl died Tuesday, March 18, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

He was born Feb. 7, 1921, in Greenwood Township, Hennepin County, the son of Mathias and Lucy Schumacher Roehl.

On May 22, 1945, Gregory Roehl and Catherine Peter were joined in holy marriage in Forest City. God blessed their marriage with seven children.

Mr. Roehl farmed until 1968 in Corcoran. He later worked at Grain Belt Brewery and St. Michael-Albertville School District for 10 years.

He was a faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. Mr. Roehl was a Charter Member of the Corcoran Lions Club and belonged to the Hanover Lions Club. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by wife, Catherine Roehl; seven children, Kathleen Roehl, Allan (Lila) Roehl, Marcella (Bill) Martin, Yvonne (Gene) Goodin, Leanne Roehl, Garry (Cathy) Roehl and Curtiss (Deanna) Roehl; 12 grandchildren, Matt Roehl, Greg Roehl, Jami Hausker, Cody Martin, Jeremy Goodin, Jodi Goodin, Angela Roehl, Christina Bruce, Ben Roehl, Alicia Roehl, Jordan Roehl and Nathan Roehl; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marian Ebert, Rita Otten and Darlene Thole; and two Brothers, Benno Roehl and Francis Roehl; a special friend of the family: Deb Nagel; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Lucy Roehl; two sisters, Bernadine Conzet and Ester Levens; and a brother, Rev. Silverius Roehl.

George Schulz

Services for George Schulz Sr., 73, of St. Michael were Sunday, March 2, 2003, at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Rev. Delburn Kurtz officiated.

Lorraine Wolff was the organist for the funeral service. Melissa Carle was the soloist and she sang "Precious Memories" and "Amazing Grace."

Mr. Schulz died Thursday, Feb. 27, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Long Island, N.Y., the son of Charles and Olga Rademacher Schulz.

He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Bronze Star.

On Sept. 1, 1947, George Schulz and Elnora Mitchell were joined in holy marriage at Fort Smith, Ark.. God blessed their marriage with three children.

Mr. Schulz was a retired executive of SPX.

Mr. and Mrs. Schulz have lived in the St. Michael area since 1984 after spending 27 years in the Twin Cities.

He also belonged to The Zuhrah Shrine.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elnora "Sue" Schulz; children, Wrenetta (Robert) Lasher of Elk River, Sandra (Julian) Dozier of Tucson, Ariz., and George (Karen) Schulz Jr. of St. Michael; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Delores Pipkin of El Paso, Texas; other relatives and friends.

Mr. Schulz is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Memorials are suggested for the Korean War Veterans Memorial Fund ... c/o 1639 Stillwater Ave., St. Paul, MN 55106.

Roland Swanson

Services for Roland S. Swanson, 76, of Maple Grove were Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Advent Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. He passed away suddenly Thursday, March 6, 2003.

Mr. Swanson was a retired vice president of Swanson & Youngdale, Inc. He was the past president of Minnesota Council Painting & Decorating Contractors of America. He was also a past trustee of Painters & Allied Trades National Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, Minnesota Painters Apprenticeship Trust, and Minneapolis Painters Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children, Bob (Donna), Leslie (Todd) Erickson, Janet (Bill) Goodin, David (Lana) and Michelle Meyer; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brother, Vern Swanson; sister, Violet (Paul) Hansen; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Mr. Swanson is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Alma; step-mother, Doris; brothers, Harold and Earl.

Memorials are preferred to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Joseph Weber

The memorial service for Joseph J. Weber, 75, of Osseo, formerly of St. Paul, was Friday, March 7, 2003, at the Historic Fort Snelling Chapel.

He passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 28, 2003.

Mr. Weber is survived by his sons, Lyle (Dianna), and John; daughters, Debbie (Jim) Hall, Judy Weber, Bonnie (Don) Forga, and Colleen (John) Schwab; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson; brother, Leo (Jean); sisters, Emma (Spence) Rettke, Rosemarie (John) Johnson, Betty (Marion) Pudwill, and Marcia Weber; many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline; parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Loren O. Trenary

Services for Loren O. Trenary, 92, of Aitkin, formerly of Anoka, were Saturday, March 22, 2003, at the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.

Mr. Trenary died at his home Tuesday, March 11, 2003. He was born Feb. 10, 1911, in Greenup, Ill., the son of Thomas and Agnes Trenary. He moved with his family as a young boy to Delano where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Second Battalion Field Artillary Group. He received the American Theater Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with a bronze star and the Good Conduct Medal.

He married Irta Finberg and owned and operated Trenary Electric in the Anoka area for many years. He retired to Aitkin in 1990. He loved nature and the outdoors, read voraciously, possessed an inquiring scientific mind and the knack for making or fixing just about anything, all wrapped up in an enmorous, gentle, kind heart. His great humor and grace on earth will be sorely missed.

He is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kathryn Trenary of Minneapolis and Roland Trenary of Minneapolis; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Angelino Consolati of Bloomington; sister, Janet Compton of Delano; grandson, Michael Trenary of Burnsville and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife, Irta; brother, Robert and parents.

Mildred M. Weber

Services for Mildred M. Weber, 74, of St. Michael were Friday, March 21, 2003, at 11:30 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Jerome Hackenmueller, Rev. Leonard Siebenaler and Rev. Michael Becker were the Concelebrants. Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery.

Joshua Weber, Jason Weber, Billy Weber, Brad Weber, Eric Gales, Sean Gales and Ryan Auger served as casket bearers.

Mrs. Weber died Tuesday evening, March 18, at the Buffalo Hospital.

She was born Aug. 15, 1930, in St. Michael the daughter of George J. and Martha A. Barthel Hackenmueller.

On Aug. 13, 1949, Mildred M. Hackenmueller and Lester L. Weber were joined in holy marriage at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. God blessed their marriage with seven children.

Mrs. Weber was a faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church and also belonged to its Christian Mothers, Catholic Aid and the Choir. She also belonged to the St. Michael Women's bowling league.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lester L. Weber of St. Michael; children, James V. Weber of Minneapolis, Barbara A. (Merton) Auger of Buffalo, Patricia J. (James) Zachman of St. Michael, Gary L. (Sandy) Weber of Maple Grove, Mark E. (Amy) Weber of Corcoran, Joan M. (Merle) Gales of Sauk Rapids and David J. (Kathy) Weber of St. Michael; grandchildren, Michelle and Bethany Zachman; Kristy, Laurie and Ryan Auger, Billy Weber; Joshua, Bridget and Jason Weber; Eric and Sean Gales; and Shannon and Bradley Weber; brothers, Vernon (Aggie) Hackenmueller, Gerald (Carol) Hackenmueller and James (Sharon) Hackenmueller, all of St. Michael, and Rev. Jerome Hackenmueller of St. Paul; a brother-in-law, Raymond Holthaus of St. Michael; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George J. and Martha Hackenmueller; and by a sister, Bernelda Holthaus.

Albert (Al) Wehr

Services for Albert (Al) Wehr, 78, of Buffalo, were Thursday, March 20, 2003, at New Joy Church in Rogers.

Interment was in Ft. Snelling with a military ceremony.

Mr. Wehr died Monday, March 17, 2003. He was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Conrad, Mont., to Mildred (Simms) and Lorenz Wehr. His parents divorced when he was young and he grew up in an orphanage where he was separated from his brothers and sisters. His mother remarried when he was a teenager and he went to live with his mother and stepfather. He attended school in Polson, Mont.

He joined the military, first serving in the Army as an antiaircraft gunman, then in the Army Air Corps. He served in the Philippines during World War II and was wounded. Upon returning home, he fell in love with Arlene Cjesinski, who was formerly of Silver Township. They were married April 17, 1948, at his father's home in Montana. He was a farm hand and creamery worker in his younger years and moved to wherever the work was available. The couple lived in Montana, Washington state and Minnesota. They moved to Wright County in 1960. They lived in Marysville Township, Montrose and Waverly before buying their first house in 1963 in Franklin Township and putting down roots.

He worked at the Delano Granite Works for several years and then at Tonka Toys in Mound, where he was a fork lift driver for 29 years. After he retired, he worked part-time at CVN and also as a groundskeeper for Village Evangelical Free Church in Independence. He moved to Delano after the death of his wife.

In 1994, he met Christene Howe through mutual friends and traveled to Arizona to visit her. They returned to Delano and were married at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in May of 1994. They lived in Delano for three years then moved to Mesa, Ariz. He enjoyed the sunshine and friends he made in the Broadmoor Park and was often involved with park projects.

He suffered a stroke in 2000. In September of 2002, Mr. and Mrs. Wehr returned to Minnesota and moved into assisted living at Sunrise of Buffalo in November 2002.

Mr. Wehr was a devout man who read the Bible every day, loved to garden, play canasta, work in his workshop, fish and play shuffleboard. He also enjoyed coin and stamp collecting. He loved to travel and saw the Grand Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park on his way back home to Minnesota. He attended devotions at Sunrise of Buffalo as often as possible. He made friends everywhere he went and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. He was a member of the Delano American Legion and the VFW in St. Cloud. His greatest loves were God, his family and his country.

He is survived by his wife, Christene; children, Jackie (Dennis) Johnston, Linda Wehr, Jim (Jeanne) Wehr, Mary (Mark) Schuster, Carol (Rob) VonEnde, Ron (Shirley) Utley and Rick (Linda) Utley; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Marianne) Wehr, Larry (Margiebelle) Hart and Larry (Jackie) Wehr; sisters, Betty (Fred) Erickson and Dorothy (Wayne) Hoss and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Robert George Windsperger

Services for Robert George Windsperger, 59, of Buffalo, were Saturday, March 1, 2003, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Michael Miller officiated and interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano. Military honors were provided by Delano American Legion Post 377.

Pallbearers were David Glunz, Dan Maas, Doug Loebertmann, Bill Loebertmann, Steve Windsperger, Mike Windsperger and Don Windsperger.

Mr. Windsperger died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. He was born Aug. 5, 1943 in Robbinsdale, the son of Edward and Agnes (Mortenson) Windsperger. He was married to Elaine (Madson) Windsperger. They have lived in the Buffalo area for the last 30 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Windsperger enjoyed 33 years of marriage. They enjoyed retirement and traveling together by car or bus. Mr. Windsperger enjoyed watching the countryside. He also loved to shop, but especially loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by Donald Windsperger. He is survived by wife, Elaine; daughters, Heather (Robert) Drews of Prior Lake, Gail (Dirk) Bengston of Appleton, Wis. and April (Garland) of Gillette, Wy.; grandchildren, Zachary and Samantha Bengston of Appleton; brother, Ed (Susan) Windsperger of Watertown; sisters, Margaret (Albert) Loebertmann of Shakopee, Judy (Allie) Lacina of Winsted, Kathy (Lloyd) Maas of Maple Lake and Betty (Dale) Glunz of Maple Lake; sister-in-law, Mavis Windsperger of Delano and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Shirley Brown

Services for Shirley Ione (Skaar) Brown, 78, of Loretto, were Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at Our Father's Lutheran Church in Rockford.

Visitation was Sunday evening at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. Pastor Larry Rehlander officiated at the prayer service as well as the funeral service on Monday.

Monica Mendez, organist, and Peggy Janisch, soloist, provided music with congregational singing. Pallbearers were Mark Austin, Terry Brown, Randy Swanson, Jon Hayes, Jeremy Cox and Mike Kenny.

Interment was in the Delano Public Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. She was born July 26, 1924, to Edwin S. and Irene A. (Woodrich) Skaar in Minneapolis.

She was a very active individual as she was involved with her church, Christian Women's Association and helped lead a Grief Group. She loved to travel and to spend time with her family. She was an excellent cook and baker.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Darr.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde of 58 years; sons, Todd and Linda Brown, and Terry and Paula Brown; one daughter Kathy and Randy Swanson; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and sister, Mardell and Milton Petersen.

Dorothy R. Frane

Services for Dorothy "Dotty" R. Frane, 64, of Maple Grove were Saturday, March 1, 2003, at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle in Corcoran.

Interment was at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Maple Grove.

Mrs. Frane died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003 at her home after a courageous 10-month battle with ovarian cancer. She was born Nov. 16, 1938.

Mrs. Frane was retired from Osseo High School after 18 years.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald; sons, Bradley (Brenda), Jeffrey, Gregory, Douglas, and Thomas (Hope); grandchildren, Nicholas, Mikal, Madison, Blake, Ryan, Austin, Jacob and Sophia; sister, Gloria Duoos; brothers, James (Lee) and David (Darlene) Koblas.

Mrs. Frane is preceded in death by her parents, George and Vivian Koblas; and brother George Koblas.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
