Irene "Kelly" Weber

Services for Irene "Kelly" Weber, 61, of Rogers were Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Mary Queen of Peace at St. Martin's Catholic Church of Rogers

Interment was at St. Martin's Cemetery

Mrs. Weber was born July 12, 1941, in Minneapolis. She died Jan. 31 in Rogers after battling cancer.

Mrs. Weber is survived by husband, Dennis "Fritz"; children, Greg (Dianne), Gary (Diane), Jay (Sue), Wendy (Rich) Dappen, Sherry (Scott) Smith and Cindy; mother Emma Baker; brothers, Charles Baker, Thomas Baker and James Baker; grandchildren, Candice, Jennifer, Krissy, John, Elise, Wade, Emily, Leah and Thae; great-granddaughter, Summer; and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by father, Charles Baker; sister, Donna Anderson; and son, Gordon Weber.

Mrs. Weber was CEO of D.M. Weber Trucking, Inc., and was active in her church and community, especially enjoying her time as a junior bowling coach.

Phyllis Zeller

Services for Phyllis Ann Zeller, 67, of Waverly, formerly of Champlin, were Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly.

Rev. Frank Wampach officiated. Pallbearers were Jack Johnson, Jay Johnson, Jim Grotz, Jerry Johnson, Pat Donovan and Tim Borrell.

Mrs. Zeller passed away peacefully Jan. 28, 2003, in Mesa, Ariz., with her family at her side. She was born March 8, 1935, in Champlin the daughter of Emil and Inez (Malkson) Hoffman. She was married to Robert Zeller.

Mrs. Zeller was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret DeJarnlais, Ruth Brown and Catherine Johnson; brothers, Gene Hoffman and Emil Hoffman Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband Bob; daughters, Ann Zeller, and Barb and Dave Kenison; sons, Steve and Deb, and Paul and Barb; grandchildren, Jola, Steven, Peter, John and Thomas; sister Betty and George Little; brothers, Bill and Jeanne Hoffman, and Art and Rita Hoffman.

Phyllis was a complex person, who had the ability to teach those around her in the way she carried her self in life. She was an accomplished writer and poet and, therefore, left many footprints for her family to follow. While she worked for 47 years as a wife and mother, she also worked for 15 years in the other working world, the last of which was as a purchasing agent for Prudential. After Bob retired, they built a retirement home in Bob's hometown of Waverly, and they spent their winters in Apache Junction in Arizona.

Phyllis was Waverly Lake Association President. She especially loved the boat parades. She ran for public office. She was deeply religious finding peace and happiness in the wonder and beauty of faith and salvation with the help of Sister Irene and Sister Frieda. She served as President of the CCW, an organization for Catholic Women.

She loved to play cards and created significant friendship bonds with a group of friends that met for the last 46 years. Entertaining was a big part of her life wherever they lived.

Mrs. Zeller shared her warmth, compassion, faith, and sense of humor with others and was always there for her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed until we see her in Heaven.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mildred C. Brenny

Services for Mildred C. Brenny, 97, of Osseo, formerly of Brooklyn Center were Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003 at River of Life Lutheran Church.

Interment was at Crystal Lake Cemetery.

Mrs. Brenny is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; and parents, Carl and Anna Samson.

Sheryl L. Belanger-Dykmann

Services for Sheryl Lynn Belanger-Dykmann, 39, of Maple Grove were Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota.

Mrs. Dykmann is survived by her husband, Troy; parents, Marilyn and Gene of Anoka; sisters, Chris (Phil) Dittes and Suzie (Rick) Auda; brother, Brad; grandmother, Anne; niece, Tessa; Troy's parents, David and Melody Dykmann of Hickman, Neb.; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials are preferred to the family.

Dianne Lynn Gray

Services for Dianne Lynn Gray, 54, of Maple Grove were Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Gill Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Gray is survived by her husband, Rusty; children, Todd (Meredith) and Tina (Dan Kenton); grandchildren, Danniell, Kaitlyn, McKay and Joshua; sister, Sue Shandley; brothers, Bill (Nola Halverson) Mahn and Roger (Sandy) Mahn; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dal and LaVern Mahn; and twin brother, Danny.

The interment was private.

Robert Harlow

Services for Robert Edward Harlow, 73, of Bemidji, formerly of Rockford, were Saturday, Feb. 1, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bemidji with Rev. Cheryl Berg officiating.

Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji. Military Honors were given by VFW Post 1260 of Bemidji.

Casket bearers were Vernon C. Fristad, Ervin Fristad, Vernon W. Fristad, Joe Ruzicka, Tom Millar and Benjamin Marfell.

Mr. Harlow died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at the Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. He was born Aug. 1, 1929, in Kittson County, Minn., the son of Arthur and Ella (Wilmer) Harlow.

He was raised in Drayton, N.D. He and his family moved to Warren, Minn., when he was 11, where he attended a country school and high school in Warren. He attended Crookston Agricultural School for two years. He worked with the REA in Warren. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 where he was stationed in Germany.

Following his discharge, he worked as a cook at the Bison Hotel in Fargo. He married Beverly Liamen in 1955; they later were divorced. He moved to Detroit Lakes where he was a cook. He moved to Fergus Falls where he cooked for the State Hospital. In 1968, he moved to Minneapolis. He worked at the State Hospital in Anoka and also worked at a Mattress Factory.

He married Grace Fristad on July 11, 1970, in Minneapolis. In August of 1973 they moved to Rockford where they owned and operated Cozy Rest Motel for 19 years. He also worked as a salesman for Surge Water Softener. He was a custodian for several places, and later started Harlow Janitorial Service serving many commercial accounts. He also started a carpet cleaning service.

He developed some land near his motel into a mini-storage and operated that until he retired. In 1992, he retired and they moved to Bemidji. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service and the Greenview Program until 2001. He was a member of the VFW Post 1260.

Mr. Harlow is survived by his wife, Grace of Bemidji; four sons, Lynn (Wendy) Harlow of Fergus Falls, David (Debra) Harlow of Chicago, Dwight (Chris) Harlow of Carlyle, Minn., and Dean (Jeanette) Harlow of Fergus Falls; one daughter, Denise (Steve) Torma of Lidgerwood, N.D.; nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Henry and sister Vera Dowe.

Hildegard Kohnen

Services for Hildegard Rosa Kohnen, 85, of Loretto were Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at 2:30 p.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

Rev. Dennis K. Strong officiated and interment followed in the church cemetery.

Jan Nelson was the organist for the funeral service. "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," "Jesus, Lead Us On" and "Jesus Shall Reign Where'er the Sun" were sung as congregational hymns.

Casket bearers were Samuel Lemmage, a grandson; Gaylerd Lieder, a nephew; Kenneth Meyer, a nephew; Donald Strehler, a godson; Lyle Strehler, a godson; and Jerald Vollrath, a nephew.

Mrs. Kohnen died Thursday, Jan. 23, at Haven Home in Maple Plain.

She was born March 15, 1917, the daughter of William E. and Rosa Tessmer Strehler.

On April 5, 1917, she was baptized at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenwood. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenwood. She remained faithful to the promises she made at her confirmation and was a lifelong member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church.

On June 15, 1938, Hildegard R. Strehler and Ervin C. Kohnen were joined in holy marriage at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church by Rev. W. P. Haar Jr. Together the couple operated a dairy farm in Greenfield for many years and retired in Delano in 1976. They lived in Delano until 1988 when they moved to Plymouth. Ervin Kohnen preceded his wife in death July 15, 1992.

Mrs. Kohnen was a longtime member of Salem's Ladies Aid.

She is survived by children, Loren E. (Joanne) Kohnen of Corcoran and Lee Ann C. Rippentrop of Maple Grove; grandchildren, Heidi (Dan) Cook of Independence, Heather Estby of Long Lake and Samuel (Amanda) Lemmage of Rogers; a great-granddaughter, Anna Cook; sisters and a brother, Lorena Georges of Hanover, Elizabeth Meyer of Monticello, Arlene Finke of Plymouth and Arnold (Gerane) Strehler of Monticello; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen Applequist and Lucille (Everett) Thies, all of Mesa, Ariz.; Lloyd (Genevieve) Kohnen of St. Michael, Agnes Kohnen of Albertville and Elton (Bernice) Kohnen of Mesa, Ariz.; a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her loving husband, Mrs. Kohnen was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Marv Rippentrop; parents, William E. and Rosa Strehler; a brother, Elmer Strehler; and a sister, Edna Lieder.

Madalyn L. Kovarik

Services for Madalyn Lenore Kovarik, 7, of Princeton, formerly of Champlin were Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003 at the Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Rev. Philip Bryans officiated. Interment was at the Champlin Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dick Flipp, John Klersy, James Kovarik, and Doug Whittlef.

Madalyn died of lung cancer Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at her home.

She was born Nov. 28, 1995 in Coon Rapids to Cade D. Whittlef and JaNane M. Kovarik.

Madalyn was a first grade student at Champlin Elementary.

She is survived by mother, JaNane (Erik); brother, Odin; father, Cade (Mandie) Whittlef; sister, Trinity; grandparents, Anne (Dick) Flipp, James (Judy) Kovarik, Cheryl Kovarik, John Klersy, Doug and Sharon Whittlef; great-grandmother, Darlene (Delbert) Frisk; many loving relatives, friends and 4 cats.

Donations will be accepted at any US Bank location for the Madalyn Kovarik Benefit Fund.

Elaine K. LaClair

Services for Elaine K. LaClair, 77, formerly of Delano, will be Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church in Edina.

Mrs. LaClair died in Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, in Sun City, Ariz. She was born in Delano.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ambrose and Frances (Elsen) Schaust and husband, Floyd Hanson.

She is survived by husband John LaClair; brother, Don (Shirley) Schaust; sister, Kathy (Ken) Marsh; sons, Bob (Marlene), Brad (Rita) and Dick (Penny) Mills; daughter, JoAnn (Dave) Knutson; grandchildren, Darin, Mike, Matt, Greg, Chris and Anne Mills and Travis and Ryan Knutson.

Frances G. Lindquist

Services for Frances G. Lindquist, 88, of Little Falls were Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.

Mrs. Lindquist died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003.

The Reader was Scott Bryce.

She is survived by her sons, Thor (Theresa) Lindquist of Little Falls, Karl (Jeanette) Lindquist of East Grand Forks, Alan (Barbara) Lindquist of Maple Grove, and Rolf (Layne) Lindquist of Grand Marais; daughter, Linnea (Gary) Dietrich of Apple Valley; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

John A. Meiners

Services for John A. Meiners, 52, of Eden Prairie, formerly of Delano, were Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Delano.

Pastor Jeff Hagaman officiated and interment was in Pinewood Cemetery in Cross Lake, Minn.

Pallbearers were Dan Arnold, Ryan Albrecht, Bob Kamphoff, Jim Ramthun, Paul Brown and George Bock, Jr.

Mr. Meiners died suddenly. He was born Sept. 4, 1950 to Gerhard and Maeanna (Schaust) Meiners in Louisville, Kent. He was a respected lawyer, outdoorsman and friend to all.

He was a graduate of Elmhurst College, received a masters degree from DePaul University and an engineering degree from the University of Minnesota. He went on to receive a law degree from the University of Minnesota.

Mr. Meiners was preceded in death by his mother, Maeanna (Schaust) Meiners and uncle, George Schaust.

He is survived by father, Rev. Gerhard Meiners, sister, Annie (Dan) Arnold, niece, Cara (Ryan) Albrecht and a soon to be born grand-niece.

Terrence A. Yahnke

Services for Terrence A. Yahnke, 40, of Dayton were Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at the Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Mr. Yahnke died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. He was born Oct. 5, 1962 in Minneapolis to Eugene and Margaret Yahnke.

He married Rhonda M. Kincaid Yahnke.

Mr. Yahnke is survived by his wife, Rhonda; brothers, Steven and Tim; sisters, Susan Yahnke and Barb Palmer; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Michael, Chris, Rusty, Charlie, and Nicole.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Margaret.
