Lura L. Hinsvark

Services for Lura L. "Lou" Hinsvark, 73, of Champlin were Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.

Interment was at the Zion Lutheran Church Columbarium in Anoka.

Mrs. Hinsvark died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in Brooklyn Center. She was born May 28, 1931, in Hewitt.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Allen) Mallery, and Deanna (Mark) Goldstein; son, Larry (Carolyn) Meints; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brother, James (Lorna) South; sister, Lucillia (Dean) Buchanan; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Hinsvark is preceded in death by her husband, William.

Memorials are preferred to the North Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Center.

Isabel G. Langfeld

Services for Isabel G. Langfeld, 87, of Maple Grove were Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Crystal.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Trudy Welch of Maple Grove, James Langfeld of Blaine, John Langfeld of Chicago, and Greg Langfeld of Orlando; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Langfeld is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence M. Langfeld.

Lois Irene Manzke

A memorial service for Lois Irene Manzke, 66, of Lake Kabetogama, formerly of Corcoran and Osseo, was Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Manzke died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Maynard; brothers, Frederick (Joy) Bauermeister, and Howard (Evelyn) Bauermeister; sisters, Myrtle (Cecil) Gelle, Ruth Mahler, Marion (Al) Berge, and Judy (Loren) Marschel; brothers-in-law, Donald (Marilyn) Manzke, Robert (Pat) Manzke, and Alvin Cook; sisters-in- law, Laverne Manzke and Rose Manzke; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mrs. Manzke is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Gertrude Bauermeister; brother, Vernon (Helen); sister, Lucille Cook; brothers-in-law, Gaylord Faue and Harold Mahler; in-laws, Albert Manzke, Marilyn Pietsch and Richard Manzke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Gary V. Woodcock

Services for Gary V. Woodcock, 71, of Maple Grove were Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at the Osseo United Methodist Church.

Mr. Woodcock died suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Mercy United Hospital in Coon Rapids. He was born Aug. 21, 1933, in Seattle, Wash.

He played nose guard on the State Champion 1950 Roosevelt High School football team. He was named to the All-State football team and received a scholarship to play at the University of Washington for the Huskies.

His education was interrupted by a two-year stint in Korea as a U.S. Army military policeman. He returned home to Seattle and graduated from Washington with a bachelor of arts in business administration in 1958.

Mr. Woodcock worked several years for the Seattle Credit Bureau before joining Allied Stores Corporation as a system analyst. He worked for 25 years implementing manual and then electronic credit card systems. His work took his family from Seattle to Indianapolis, Ind. and Miami, Fla. He moved his family to Maple Grove in 1977, when he took over as credit and customer service manager for Donaldsons Department Store.

Among his accomplishments, he was named the first recipient of the Joseph P. Garcia Award for contributions to industry given by the National Retail Merchants Association following a nation-wide search.

Mr. Woodcock retired from Allied Stores and held a succession of jobs contributing to his community: personnel consultant at consumer credit counseling, school bus driver for Osseo/Brooklyn School Bus Co., paraprofessional working with special-needs children for Osseo School District 279 and as an employee of Eyes of the Wild Art Gallery in Maple Grove.

He enjoyed family, music, camping, sports, reading, fishing and dining out at Perkins, Hudy's and the Cooper Kettle of Osseo.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Karen), Martin (Becky), Matthew (Susan), Murray (Kim), and Mark (Denise); step-daughter, Elissa Jones; 11 grandchildren; brother, Wesley; nephew, Greg (Amanda); friend and mother-in-law, Ethel McNamee.

Mr. Woodcock is preceded in death by his wives, Roberta Dell (McNamee) and Christine S. (Jones).

If so desired, memorials may be given to the Gary Woodcock Memorial Fund.

Milton Hickman

Services for Milton "Milt" Charles Hickman, 93, of Rockford Township Saturday, Dec. 11, at Montrose Methodist Church with Rev. Elizabeth Hadler officiating.

Jim Hickman, Bill Hickman, Mike Hickman, Chuck Hickman, Beau Hickman and Blake Hickman served as pallbearers. Stephanie Hickman and Jana Hickman were honorary pallbearers.

The eulogy was read by John Kanduth. Music was provided by organist Jackie Vanderlinde and vocalists were The Schultz Sisters.

Burial was at Kriedler Cemetery with military rites provided by the Buffalo Legion and Montrose VFW.

Mr. Hickman died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo. He was born in Hampton, Iowa, July 13, 1911, to William and Ida Hickman. They moved several times ending up in Colgate, N.D., where he graduated from high school. In 1942 he moved to Montrose and farmed briefly before entering the U.S. Army. He served in the infantry from 1942 through 1945 in the European Theater where he was awarded two bronze stars. He continued to serve in the Army reserve until 1967.

When the war ended, Milt returned to Montrose where he met Clara "Birdie" Mohring. They were married in 1947. Milt and Birdie farmed in Montrose until 1955 when they moved to their current residence in Rockford Township. Their marriage was blessed with four children: James, William, Michael and Janet.

Besides raising a family, Milt and Birdie worked hard at raising crops and being dairy farmers. They developed a fine heard of Holstein cattle and won many awards at the Wright County fairs and Minnesota State fairs. Despite the busy farm life, Milt and Birdie always found time to support their children's activities. They didn't miss a single Buffalo High School wrestling match during the 1960s.

Mr. Hickman was an active member of Montrose Methodist Church, a life member of Montrose VFW Post 1901 (many times Commander), and a member of the Buffalo Legion Post 270. He served on the board of directors for Wright-Hennepin Electric for 18 years. He was an active member of the Minnesota Farmers Union as well as being active in the DFL.

Upon retirement, Milt and Birdie traveled extensively to Army reunions and Wright-Hennepin conventions. They also enjoyed many trips to Hawaii for a break from Minnesota winters. Throughout Milt's long and active life, he made many lasting friendships. He received loving care at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo for the final two years of his life.

Mr. Hickman is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Clara; brother, Hale; sister, Ila Young; sons, Jim (Joy), Bill (Debbie), and Mike (Sharon); daughter, Jan (John) Kanduth; grandchildren, Chuck (Deni), Beau, Stephanie, Blake and Jana; great grandchildren, Justin and Brenden; brothers and sister-in-laws, Clinton and Flora Mohring, Jo Anderson, Alfie and Lucille Mohring, and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

He is preceded in death by parents, William and Ida Hickman; brother, Eli Hickman; sister, Mabel Stubson; and granddaughter, Katie Hickman.

Grace Mahlberg

Services for Grace Idella Mahlberg, 87, of Delano, were Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Frank Wampach officiated the service. Internment was in the Calvary Cemetery in Delano.

Mrs. Mahlberg died Saturday, Dec. 4, at her home in Delano. She was born Nov. 17, 1917, to Andrew and Josephine (Fautch) Pogreba in Delano.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Mahlberg; her parents, Andrew and Josephine Pogreba; and her sisters, Laura Dahlheimer and Helen Tischler.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

George Libor

Services for George Gerard Libor, 71, of Waverly were Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Delano, with Deacon Joe Kittock officiating.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Libor died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at his home in Waverly. He was born Dec. 14, 1932 in Delano, the son of Peter P. and Mary T. (Kittock) Libor. His twin brother Gerard passed away Oct. 13, 1933. He was baptized in the Catholic faith and served as an altar boy in the 1940s.

He was united in marriage to Jeannie A. Lockwood on July 25, 1953, by Father Francis Neuman at St. Peter's Catholic Church. One son, Leslie Allan Libor, was born to this union.

Mr. Libor spent his entire adult life repairing engines and was a certified hydraulic mechanic and traveling trouble-shooter for Tel-E-Lect in Bloomington for several years and a hydraulic mechanic for Burnip & Sims in West Palm Beach, Fla., where his boss told his wife, Jeannie, "he was the best hydraulic mechanic that company had ever had."

In later years he also worked in this field for a truck repair company in Georgia. He was an avid sportsman loving duck, pheasant and deer hunting as well as baseball and football games.

Mr. Libor is survived by his son, Leslie Allan Libor of Buffalo; grandchildren, Joel Libor, Shawn Libor and Dawn (Steve) Suess; sisters and brothers, Clem Pillatzki, Marion Murray, Jenny Annette and friend Alfred, Elizabeth (Joe) Gueningsman, Arthur and friend, Karen, Stephen (Joan) Libor, Rosella Hudson, Delores Quast-Sikkala (Marvin), Annette (Larry) Thielen, Mary (Mike) Dongoski and Paul (Joan) Libor; sisters-in-law, Mabel Libor, Bernie Libor, Joan (Steve) Libor and Joan (Paul) Libor; Godchildren Jeffrey Quast and Rhonda Schuler; special former sister-in-law, Joann "Joni" Libor-Ingersoll; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as former wives, Jeannie Libor-Bowers (companion and best friend) and Nellie Libor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Gerard; brothers, Edward, Lawrence and Peter Libor, Jr.; and sister, Anna Hanson; brothers-in-law, Bruce Hanson, Leo Pillatzki, Robert Murray, Lee Annette, Stanley Quast and Tom Hudson.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Richard Justice

Services for Richard Mark Justice, 51, formerly of Delano were Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria.

Rev. John Peshek and Rev. Jeffrey Olsen officiated the service.

Music was provided by Jody Sundlee, Robb Justice, and Diane Alveshere.

Interment followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robb Justice, Brian Carlson, George Weatherwax, Mitch Hoppe, Dustin Corkill-Bomgaars and Gary Stoffels. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Justice, Alex Kuntz, Gary Justice, Ted Justice, Mark Justice, Bob Olson, John Hager, Steve Green, Michael Elliott and Dan Moen.

Mr. Justice was born Jan. 21, 1953, in Amery, Wis., the son of Richard and Jeanne (Mesang) Justice. His family moved to Alexandria, Minn., where he graduated from Jefferson High School.

On March 16, 1974, Richard Justice was joined in marriage to Nancy Moen in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Plymouth where they lived for five years before moving to Delano. The two raised their two children there. In 1997 the couple returned to Alexandria.

Mr. Justice was a member of the Carpenter's Union 1644 for 20 years. He owned and operated Justice Drywall for several years. While in Delano, he was an active member of the Delano Jaycees. He coached his daughter's softball teams for nine years and coached his son's hockey teams for two years.

Mr. Justice enjoyed running, volleyball and golfing when he could. He liked to go fishing and hunt for deer, pheasant and duck. He loved to be able to spend time with his children and grandchildren. His family was very important to him.

Helping out was important too. He traveled to Florida to help his friend, Gerhard Schmidt, repair Gerhard's home following the recent hurricane damage. On Dec. 9, 2004, Richard was returning from that trip when he died.

Mr. Justice was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Justice. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Justice of Alexandria; one daughter, Jennifer and Alex Kuntz of Colorado; one son, Mike and Jamie Justice of Miltona, Minn.; four grandchildren, Tabitha Kuntz, Ashley Kuntz, Cody Justice and Brooklyn Justice; brothers, Ted and Sue Justice of Alexandria and Gary and Cathy Justice of Lowry, Minn.; five sisters, Judy Hall of Eden Prairie, Vicky Elliott of Chaska, Mary and Tony Lachowitzer of Battle Lake, Barbara and Mike Birrell of Austin, Texas, and Elizabeth and Chip Weersing, of Austin, Texas; and one step-brother, Craig and Anita Rise of Fargo, N.D.

Stanley Hohag

Services for Stanley Stephen Hohag, , were Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004 at First Presbyterian Church in Howard Lake.

Pastor Myra Carroll-Pizzilla officiated the service.

Internment was held at Howard Lake cemetery.

Mr. Hohag died peacefully at his home Dec. 4. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anna; children, Karen Fadden, Ron Fadden, Kathy and Rick Workman and Jacob Workman.

Stanley, known to many as "Tim," was born June 5, 1920, to Fred and Mary (Steg) Hohag on their farm north of Waverly. The outbreak of World War II saw Stan going to California to work in the Douglas Aircraft plant. While living in California, Stanley married Anna Marie Painschab, on March 7, 1942. The young couple soon returned to Minnesota when Stan was drafted in the U.S Army. He was assigned to the China-Burma-India theater during the war, serving in the U.S. Army Engineer Depot Company.

Following the end of the war, he returned to Waverly where he continued to farm for many years with his brother Warner. Stanley semi-retired from farming in 1979 when his son Dean took over the dairy farm, although he did continue to help as much and as long as his health allowed.

Mr. Hohag will be remembered for his work ethic, his inventive and mechanical skills and his fine woodworking abilities. As a younger man, he enjoyed dancing and bowling. He was a natural horticulturist and took great pleasure in growing plants and landscaping. In his retirement and declining health, he enjoyed feeding and watching birds, as well as doing jigsaw puzzles.

He was an active member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Waverly, and more recently, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Howard Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Hohag, and by his brother and sisters and their spouses: Chuck and Mary Hohag, Edna and Ralph Hjlem and Vavian and Harold Irwin.
