Irene Barthel

Services for Irene M. Barthel, 81, of St. Michael were Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Leonard Siebenaler was the celebrant and interment followed at the St. Michael Cemetery.

Special music for the Mass was provided by Tim and Greg Duerr.

Honorary casket bearers were Billy, Paul and Kyle Vetsch.

Casket bearers were Travis Barthel, Trent Barthel, Ryan Deziel, Andy Kottke, Kent Pawelk and Matt Treptau.

Mrs. Barthel died Monday morning, Oct. 11, at her residence.

She was born June 21, 1923, in Robbinsdale the daughter of George "Lee" and Lola Webb Meister.

She graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1941.

On May 30, 1951, Irene M. Meister and Bernard A. "Bernie" Barthel were joined in holy marriage at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Corcoran. God blessed their marriage with ten children.

Mr. and Mrs. Barthel engaged in dairy farming for many years and belonged to the Minnesota Brown Swiss Association.

She was a faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Mrs. Barthel is survived by children, Lynette (Rick) Deziel of Corcoran, Ben (Terri) Barthel, Benita (Jim) Oliver, Garry Barthel, Gordy (Carole) Barthel and Theresa (Mike) Treptau, all of St. Michael, Michele (Dan) Pawelk of Maple Lake and Pam (Mike) Vetsch of Cokato; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Leon) Leuer, Betty (Loren) Eull and Joann (Joe) Hackenmueller; brothers, John (Joyce) Meister, Frank (Catherine) Meister and Chuck (Phyllis) Meister; a brother-in-law, Ray Laurent; sisters-in-law, Marie Schumacher, Ana Duerr, Rosemary Vickerman and Claudine Barthel; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Bernard A. "Bernie" Barthel Dec. 18, 2002; a grandson, Tyler Pawelk; parents, George "Lee" and Lola Meister; a brother, George; and a sister, Jeanne Laurent.

Frank Ghinter

Services for Frank I. Ghinter, 88, of Little Falls, Minn., were Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls, with Rev. Carl Larson officiating.

Burial was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.

Mr. Ghinter died Oct. 16 at his home in Little Falls. He was born April 12, 1916, in Seattle, Wash., to Joseph and Hulda (Hermanson) Ghinter.

The family moved to the Little Falls area where Mr. Ghinter attended and graduated from Little Falls High School. He enlisted in U.S. Army Aug. 7, 1945, served during World War II and was a POW.

He was honorably discharged. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Oman Jan. 26, 1963, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls.

The couple made their home in Little Falls where Frank worked at Camp Ripley as carpenter foreman from 1959 until retiring in 1981. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the Little Falls VFW Post 1112. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, cards, cribbage, wood working and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Little Falls; children, Brad Ghinter and wife, Lisa of St. Michael, Jeff Ghinter of Middlebrook, Fla., Tammy Strempke and husband, Mark of Big Lake, and Kathy Warren and husband, Steve of Monticello; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger Ghinter; and brother, Ed Ghinter.

Judith A. Bursch

Services for Judith Ann Bursch, 60, of Greenfield were Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

Rev. Dennis K. Strong officiated and David Farstad was the organist.

Congregational hymns were "Beautiful Savior," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," "Abide Wit Me! Fast Falls the Eventide," "Savior, Again To Thy Dear Name We Raise" and "I Know that My Redeemer Lives."

Private interment Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

Honorary casket bearers were Sarah Hayes, Amanda Hayes, Kari Peterson, Jessica Pearson, Jodi Kolstad, Melissa Nedland and Jodi Gunderson.

Casket bearers were Jerry Hogge, Dwain Pearson, Matthew Pearson, Brad Mason, James Murray Jr. and Jason Peterson.

Mrs. Bursch died Sunday evening, Oct. 10, at Fairview-University Hospital in Minneapolis. She was born March 1, 1944, in N. Minneapolis the daughter of Earl and Marion Murray Fredrickson.

She was baptized in April 1944 at Zion Lutheran Church in N. Minneapolis. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on May 25, 1958, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover by the Reverend Kaiser.

She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1962.

On July 27, 1963, Judith Ann Fredrickson and Marvin W. Bursch were joined in holy marriage at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover. God blessed their marriage with three sons.

Mrs. Bursch was a faithful member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. She belonged to the Church's Ladies Aid and was a Sunday School Teacher for 23 years.

Through the years, she was also involved with Christians for Life Ministries and Friends of West, at West Lutheran High School.

She is survived by her loving husband, Marvin W. Bursch; sons, Gerald Bursch of Minneapolis, Thomas Bursch of Greenfield and Robert (Tanya) Bursch of Otsego; grandchildren, Ethan and Derek Bursch; sisters, Deborah Hayes of Montrose, Karen (Chuck) Mason of Albertville, Chersti (Dave) Pearson of Greenfield and Jean (Don) Kalstad of Otsego; mother-in-law, Gladys E. Bursch of Buffalo; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alvin (Gayle) Bursch of Loretto, Don (Bernice) Bursch of Buffalo and Harvey (Sharon) Bursch of Fairbault; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Bursch is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Marion Fredrickson; and a sister, Lori Fredrickson.

Larry Glauvitz

A memorial service for Larry Glauvitz, 73, of Maple Grove was Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Osseo.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park.

Mr. Glauvitz was a loving husband and devoted father, and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Bibbi; sons, Mark (Debbie), John (Gail), Jerald (Kari), David (Sherry), and Erik (Kim) Glauvitz; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Cumbee, Bernie Mohs, Virginia (Earl) Hoppenrath; and brother Norbert Glauvitz.

Mr. Glauvitz is preceded in death by his sister, Anita.

Amery A. Mills

Services for Amery A. Mills, 17, of Maple Grove were Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church in Fridley.

Mills died suddenly due to a car accident on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004.

He is survived by his parents, Cheryl and George; younger brother, Elliot; grandparents, Lea Mills, and Shirley and William Backstrom; aunts and uncles, Pat (Jack) Mills, Marcia (Ken) Baran, and Butch (Mary) Backstrom; cousins, Crystal, Katie, Nikki, Kelsey, Mitchell, Megan, and Katie.

Mills is preceded in death by his grandfather, Vernon Mills.

We love you and will miss you.

Memorials preferred to the Maple Grove Senior High Choir.

Helen C. Dehn

Services for Helen C. Dehn, 86, of Rogers were Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church at St. Martin's in Rogers.

Interment was at St. Martin's Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 2, 1918, in Hassan Township. She died Oct. 8 in Rogers.

Mrs. Dehn is survived by children, James (Mary), Rita (Michael) Tuck, Patricia (Robert) Davis, Arnold, Thomas, Kathleen (William) Robinson, Martha (Greg) Lewis, Mary Jo (Steve) Bromander, Lorraine (Jerry) Gould, Annette (Ed) Haller and Audrey.

Also survived by 34 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Walter V.

A special thanks to the Hospice of the Twin Cities and her wonderful caregivers.

Jessica Pouliot

Graveside services for Jessica Elizabeth Pouliot, infant daughter of Larry and Luann Pouliot of South Haven, were Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at Sunset Cemetery.

Funeral services for Jessica were Friday, Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Mark Tiemann officiated at the funeral service.

Lorraine Wolff was the organist. Congregational hymns were "Safe In the Arms of Jesus" and "It Is Well With My Soul."

Jessica died Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Buffalo Hospital.

In addition to her loving parents, Jessica is survived by sisters and brothers, Brianna, Alysia, Rachel, Naomi, Joshua, Caleb, Sarah and Rebekah Pouliot; grandparents, Anne Hyams of New Hope, Ruth and Carl Burgess of Maple Grove and Alfred Pouliot of St. Cloud.

Olivia Mitchell

Services for Olivia Grace Mitchell, infant daughter of Joseph A. and Kathleen W. Mitchell, were Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Michael Anderson was the Celebrant and interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery. Jacob Preston and Annie Wilde, Olivia's Godparents, were the casket bearers.

Olivia died Sunday, Oct. 3, at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. She was born May 8 in Minneapolis.

Olivia was born again to be God's own child by the "washing of water in the Word" when she was baptized Aug. 8 at St. Michael Catholic Church.

Survived by her loving parents, Joseph A. and Kathleen W. Mitchell of St. Michael; maternal grandparents, Dennis Wilde of St. Cloud and Caryn Wilde of Moscow, Russia; paternal grandparents, Mickey (Darrell) Preston of Corcoran and Kim (Suzie) Mitchell of Kansas City, Mo.; maternal great-grandparents, Maxine Wilken of Moundsview and Polly Wilde of Bainville, Mont.; paternal great-grandparents, Patricia Mitchell of White Bear Lake; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Laura Dehmer

Services for Laura T. Dehmer, 91, of St. Michael were Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. Concelebrants were Rev. Michael Becker and Rev. Leonard Siebenaler.

Mass servers were Eric Lenneman, Sarah Lenneman, Alyssa Barthel and Johnny Weber.

Honorary casket bearers were Joel Gindele, Paul Gindele, Dean Dehmer, Billy Dehmer, Randy Dehmer, Nick Dehmer, Peter Dehmer and Tom Gindele.

Casket bearers were Rudy Dehmer, Greg Gindele, Matt Dehmer, Dan Dehmer, Brian Dehmer and Eric Dehmer.

Mrs. Dehmer was born to eternal life Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Monticello-Big Lake Community Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 17, 1913, in St. Michael the daughter of George and Anna "Annie" Hengels Eicher.

On May 28, 1935, Laura T. Eicher and Rudolph W. "Rudy" Dehmer were joined in holy marriage at St. Michael Catholic Church. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Mr. and Mrs. Dehmer engaged in farming for many years.

She was a lifelong, faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She also belonged to the St. Mary Society, Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid.

Loving mother of Fran (Jan) Dehmer, Mary Ann (Al) Gindele, Tom (Judy) Dehmer, Jerry (Bitsy) Dehmer and John (Julie) Dehmer, all of St. Michael and Sr. Joanne "Bonnie" Dehmer, SSND of St. Paul; loving grandmother of 27 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. Further survived by a brother, Lambert (Irene) Eicher of Albertville; a sister-in-law, Magdalen Dehmer of Monticello; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph W. "Rudy" Dehmer in 1986; two infant grandchildren and a great-grandchild; parents, George and Anna "Annie" Eicher; and a sister, Valencia A. Eicher in 2000.
