Jerry D. Leadens

Services for Jerry D. Leadens, 62, of Elk River were Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Leadens died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, in Onamia. He was born July 24, 1942, in Minneapolis.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Rebecca (Steve) Bohnhoff of Elk River, Geri Carter of Princeton, Heidi (Joseph) Linhoff of Brooklyn Park; grandchildren, Tony LuAllen, Anna, Nicholas, and Rose Carter; brothers, Carol (Virginia) of Aitkin, Jack (Sharon) of Maple Grove; sisters, Joyce Froberg of Texas, Joanne (Gordon) Sandahl of Brooklyn Center, Carol (Paul) Nordby of Brooklyn Park.

Joshua Braaten

Services for Joshua Damasius Braaten, 1, of Albertville were Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Rev. Peter Richards was the celebrant of the Mass. Joseph Krueger was the organist.

Joshua died Aug. 9 at his home. He was born July 22, 2003, in St. Louis Park the son of Jason L. and Kelly Kruzel Braaten.

God's gift to us was our very special son.

Joshua is survived by his parents, Jason and Kelly Braaten; maternal grandparents, Allen J. Kruzel of Swanville,, Blanche Evridge and her husband Roger Brodersen of Mansfield, Mo; paternal grandfather, Marlin Braaten, Kensington; great-granparents, Leona Kruzel, Little Falls; Neil H. Evridge, St. Cloud; and Eugene Tvrdik of Glenwood; also aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kathryn Braaten; great-grandparents, Damasius Kruzel, Betty Evridge, Leona Tvrdik, Delmore and Lucille Braaten.

Jerry Braegelmann

Services for Jerry "Lewis" Braegelmann, 48, of Montrose were Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Visitation was on Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. Rev. Michael Miller officiated at the Mass, with music provided by Margaret Groskreutz, organist, and the Resurrection Choir.

Casket bearers were Terry Kittock, Dale Pilarski, Al Bomstadt, Tom Plotnik, Tom Ditter and Paul Mielke.

Mr. Braegelmann died accidentally in a motorcycle accident Friday, Aug. 6, 2004. He was born Feb. 12, 1956, to Alfred "Fritz" and Viola (Donnay) Braegelmann. He was a taxidermist, carpenter, and avid outdoorsman.

He is survived by his parents Alfred "Fritz" and Viola Braegelmann; sisters, Judy and Mike White, Joan Mielke, and Janice and Jeff Schweiss; brothers, James and Mary Jo Braegelmann, John Braegelmann, Jay and Clari Braegelmann, and Joe and Vicki Braegelmann; 18 nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Marie Buelow

Services for Marie Rose Buelow, 81, were Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Delano.

Rev. Michael Miller officiated with music provided by Margaret Groskreutz, organist, and the Resurrection Choir.

Casket bearers were be Marie's grandchildren: Danny, Eric, Shane, Michelle, JoEllyn, Heidi, Allyson, and Sarah.

Interment services were privately held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Mrs. Buelow died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at the Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. She was born April 3, 1923, to Nicholas and Agnes (Fisher) Guck in Little Falls.

Marie and her husband Harold were longtime owners of Harold's Café in Maple Plain.

She is survived by her husband Harold of 62 years; sons, Dan and Marla Buelow, Mark and Lynnette Buelow, and Bernie and Sue Buelow; daughters, Sharon and Larry Hafften, and Bonnie and Jeff Jacobs; 13 grandchildren, Dan and Tonya Buelow, Michelle, Eric, JoEllyn and Shane Hafften, Heidi, Sarah, and Allyson Buelow, Liana Zarembinski, Nicholas and Benjamin Jacobs, and Megan and Matthew Buelow, six great grandchildren, Lauren and Collin Buelow, Cole Holbrook, Sierra and Cheyenne Hafften, and Joseph Buelow; brother, Wally and Lily Guck; sisters, Irene Dayton, Delores and Gus Sobiek, Rita an Don Huot, and Eileen and Vince Korkowski.

Edwin D. Des Lauriers

Services for Edwin D. Des Lauriers, 78, were Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at St. Anne's Church in Hamel.

Mr. Des Lauriers passed away Friday, July 30, 2004. He was boorn March 24, 1926, in Hamel. He was the son of David and Adeline Des Lauriers.

Mr. Des Lauriers served in the Army Air Corps and graduated cum laude from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

His 30-year career as a general supervisor at Delco Electronics (General Motors) pioneered work in advanced Titan missile guidance systems and leading edge computerized automotive systems including air restraints and other safety devices.

He was Indiana Wing Commander for the Civil Air Patrol and Indiana Governor Orr appointed him to the Civil Defense commission. He was also a member of the Supervisory Committee for Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union.

Over the last 10 years, he enjoyed the tropical climate of the Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Mr. Des Lauriers is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ilse; son, Arthur; two grandchildren; brothers, Donald and Richard; sister, Patricia; many nieces and nephews.

Addison Harvey Douglass

A memorial service for Addison Harvey Douglass, 82, was Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at the Trinity Episcopal Church of Excelsior.

Mr. Douglass died early Monday morning, Aug. 9, 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, of 34 years; daughters, Susie Lohmann of Edina, Laurie (John) Brandenborg of Medina; step-sons, Charles (Debra) Faison of Eden Prairie, William (Jisuk) Faison of Seattle, Wash.; and grandchildren, Haley and Timothy Lohmann, Jason and Kassie Brandenborg, Danielle and Lydia Faison.

Mr. Douglass was born and raised in Minneapolis. He was an alumnus of West High School in Minneapolis, and the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md. He was commissioned by the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Alabama in the South Pacific and finally on an LSM that took him to California and China.

Upon resigning his commission with the Navy, he began his 38-year career with Cargill, Inc., where he was a loyal and respected employee.

He will be fondly remembered for his honor as a man, the twinkle in his eye, and as someone quick to laugh. He was a strong competitor, avid golfer and fisherman, doting husband, loyal father, proud grandfather and irreplaceable friend.

In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorials to the church.

Eugene Handt

Services for Eugene Virgil Handt, Sr., 78, of Delano were Thursday, Aug. 11, 2004, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Delano.

Visitation was held on Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.

Rev. Kenneth Iha officiated at the service, with music provided by Margaret Groskreutz, organist, with congregational singing.

Casket bearers were Eugene's grandsons: Travis Handt, Matthew Handt, Kody Handt, Eric Handt, Jonathan Handt and Jacob Handt. Military honors were provided by the Delano American Legion Post 377. Interment was in the St. Paul's Cemetery in rural Delano.

Mr. Handt died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at the V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born Dec. 4, 1925, to William Carl and Anna Augusta (Grewe) Handt in Hewitt, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine (Milbrett); parents, William C. and Anna A. Handt; step-mother, Louise; brother, Marvin W. Sr.; and great granddaughter, Emma L. Handt.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth and Mary Handt, Ricky and Marilyn Handt, Cory and Sim Handt, Eugene Jr. and Linda Handt, and Kevin Handt; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two step-sisters, Henrietta and Bob Brady, and Barbara and John Herr; and step-brother Bill and Mary Handt.

Herbert T. Heim

Services for Herbert Thomas Heim, 81, of Brooklyn Center were Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Center.

Interment was at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Mr. Heim died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, in Robbinsdale. He was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

He served in the U.S. Army in Europe and in World War II.

Mr. Heim worked for Pliams Linoleum for 30 years and was a business agent for local #596 for 12 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Eleanore; sons, Fred (Kristine) and Jeff; daughter, Katherine Anderson; grandchildren, Michelle (Ben) Marshall, Kimberly (Tom) Griffin, Patrick Anderson, Shawn (Anika), Jason, and Laura; great-granddaughter, Taylor; brother, Clifford; and sisters, Mary Yaeger and Evelyn Johnson.

Mr. Heim is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joseph; dearest little son, Joseph John; and brothers, Dick, Kenneth and Harold.

Pearl C. Lynch

Services for Pearl Clara Lynch, 91, of Osseo were Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.

Interment was at the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Osseo.

Mrs. Lynch died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in Robbinsdale. She was born Feb. 12, 1913, in Yankton, S.D.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph (Shirley) Lynch, Jim (Mary) Lynch, and Larry Lynch; daughters and son-in-law, Pat Lynch, Maria Lynch, and Judie (Mike) Slattery; sister, Lillian Hedstrom; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lynch is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph; and her daughter, Suzanne.

If so desired, memorials may be given to the Pearl C. Lynch Memorial Fund.

Dorothy L. Rako

Services for Dorothy L. Rako, 84, of Maple Grove, formerly of Crystal were Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel of Plymouth.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Gina) Rako, Jerry (Dawn) Rako, Catherine Walton, and Joanne (Dan) Irvin; grandchildren, Travis Rako, Deanna (Jason) King, Angela and Brandon Walton, Nichole and Rich Rust, D.J. Irvin; great-grandson, Mason Walton; nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rako is preceded in death by her husband, George; brothers, Victor and Norman Hanson.

Dorothy G. Watkins

Services for Dorothy G. Watkins, 90, of Stillwater and formerly of Corcoran were Thursday July 12, 2004, at 7 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Corcoran.

Rev. Debra Clausen was the officiant. Keith Schad, Janelle Stallkamp, Randy Stallkamp and Debra Clausen were the musicians. Leanne LaFave was the organist and pianist.

A private family interment was held.

Ervin Vergin, Dennis Covington, Don Mehus, John Heins, Steve Rickson & Randy Stallkamp served as casket bearers.

Mrs. Watkins died Monday Aug. 9, at the Stillwater Good Samaritan Care Center.

She was born Sept. 21, 1913, in Minnesota Lake, Minn., the daughter of John and Malinda Priem Albright.

On Jan. 1, 1936, Dorothy Albright and Arthur Watkins were joined in holy marriage at her parent's home in Minnesota Lake.

She is survived by her children, Curtis (Jo Ann) Watkins of Rosemount and Patricia Ann Watkins of Oak Park Heights; grandchildren, Molly (Steve) Sheedlo of Blaine and Mark Watkins of Minneapolis; great-grandchildren, Annie Grace, Leah Jo and Samuel Steven Sheedlo of Blaine; a sister-in-law, Helen Bruse of Buffalo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; parents, John and Malinda Albright.
