Vivian Ward

Services for Vivian Ward, 62, of Dayton were Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Ward died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2004, at her daughter's home in Ramsey. She was born June 22, 1942 in Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ada Jett; and son, George Ward.

She is survived by husband, Al; daughters, Jean (Brian) Towley, Donna (Gregg) Christopherson, and Sarah Ward; nine grandchildren; father, Jesse Jett, Sr.; siblings, Beryl Mox, Sanford Jett, Susan Tucker, Connie Norman, Cindy Watrous, and Jesse Jett, Jr.

Thomas E. Chesney Sr.

A memorial service for Thomas E. Chesney, Sr., 59, of Maple Grove, formerly of northeast Minneapolis was Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Chapel in Minneapolis.

Interment was at Hillside Cemetery.

Mr. Chesney Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004.

He was employed by Tom Thumb Food Markets for 29 years.

He is survived by loving wife of 40 years, Judith; daughter, Kimberly (Eric) Sturlaugson; son, Thomas E. Chesney, Jr.; grandchildren, Carly and Parker; brothers, Merlyn (Judi), Dennis (Judy), Terry (Denise); sisters, Sharon Anderson, Dee Dee Ness, Vicky (Richard) Snow; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and one grandnephew; and the extended Snuggle Inn family at Round Lake.

Mr. Chesney Sr. is preceded in death by parents, Merlyn "Buster" and Lois; sister, Wendy Stanley; sister-in-law, Frannie Chesney and brother-in-law, Bob Ness.

Herman S. Danta

Services for Herman S. Danta, 82, of Osseo were Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.

Interment was at the Lithuanian National Cemetery in Justice, Ill.

Mr. Danta died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, in Coon Rapids. He was born April 11, 1922, in Chicago, Ill.

He is survived by his brother, Adolph Danta of Barrington, Ill.; sister-in-law, Agnes E. Kahler of Lakeville; and niece, Julie Speiker of Prior Lake.

Mr. Danta is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; and son, Phillip.

Gary J. "Jack" Hart

Services for Gary J. "Jack" Hart, 72 of Osseo.

Franklin Delano "Del" McKay

A memorial service for Franklin Delano "Del" McKay, 70, of Maple Grove was Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

There was a private interment at Crystal Lake Cemetery.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jackie; loving children, Mike (Leslie Carroll) McKay, Laurie (Helmut) Tornquist, Terrie (Vic) Krauze, and Patty (Rick Floe) McMullen; grandchildren, Toni (John), Vic Jr., Jackie, Matt, and Sadie; siblings, Tom (Marilyn) McKay, Harriet (Tom) Chenevert, Mick (Dorothy) McKay, and Betty Hanratty; mother-in-law, Mabel Chapman; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Ray) Raymond; and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. McKay is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Anna McKay; and father-in-law, Clifford Chapman.

McKay was a man who enjoyed life and left his family and friends with many happy memories.

Memorials preferred to North Hospice or Ambassador Care Center.

Carol Jackson

Services for Carol Jackson, 79, of Brooklyn Center, were Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Center.

Mrs. Jackson died Aug. 5, 2004, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. She was born Nov. 12, 1925.

She was preceded in death by son, Michael. She is urvived by husband, Tom; daughters, Marie (Ronald) Krueger of Champlin, and Donna (Randy) Nielsen of Anoka; sister, Lorraine Peterson of Deerwood; grandchildren, Jim Yeats, Lisa Mielke, and Jeff Krueger; and four great-grandchildren.

Interment was in Glen Haven Cemetery.

Mary Ellen Duerr

Services for Mary Ellen (Billstrom) Duerr of Champlin are today, Monday, Aug. 10, 2004, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Anoka.

Mrs. Duerr died Aug. 6, 2004, at home surrounded by family after a one-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born Jan. 12, 1936.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 48 years, James; along with their nine children, Christine (Barry) DeZiel, Laura (David) Dahlheimer, Mary Jo (David) Quam, Jane (Skip) Young, Sue (John) Talbot, Deanna (Jim) Comeau, James Jr. (Karen) Duerr, Joseph (Mindy) Duerr, and Julie (Gary) Talbot; 17 grandchildren; parents, Robert and Marcella Billstrom; five sisters and one brother.

She was preceded in death by infant son, Daniel.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Fairview Hospice Fund, 2450 26th Ave. S., Mpls, MN 55406.

Edwin D. Des Lauriers

Services for Edwin D. Des Lauriers, 78, were Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at St. Anne's Church in Hamel.

Mr. Des Lauriers passed away Friday, July 30, 2004. He was boorn March 24, 1926, in Hamel. He was the son of David and Adeline Des Lauriers.

Mr. Des Lauriers served in the Army Air Corps and graduated cum laude from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

His 30-year career as a general supervisor at Delco Electronics (General Motors) pioneered work in advanced Titan missile guidance systems and leading edge computerized automotive systems including air restraints and other safety devices.

He was Indiana Wing Commander for the Civil Air Patrol and Indiana Governor Orr appointed him to the Civil Defense commission. He was also a member of the Supervisory Committee for Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union.

Over the last 10 years, he enjoyed the tropical climate of the Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Mr. Des Lauriers is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ilse; son, Arthur; two grandchildren; brothers, Donald and Richard; sister, Patricia; many nieces and nephews.

William Buck Deatrick

Memorial services for William Buck Deatrick, 85, of Maple Grove were Saturday, July 24, 2004, at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Minneapolis.

Mr. Deatrick died Sunday, July 18, 2004, surrounded by his children at Mercy Allina Hospital of complications from surgery. He was born to Robert and Gladys Buck Deatrick in Columbus, Ohio.

He was educated in New York City and at New York University.

Mr. Deatrick was a pilot for the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and a marketing executive with General Mills and International Multifoods. He was an accomplished sailor and ocean racer.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chadwick; stepson, Robert Weidenhammer, and step-great grandson, Derek Narveson.

He is survived by his children, Steven W. (Diane) Deatrick, Heidi Deatrick, Heather (Joseph) Van Norman, Katherine Deatrick and grandchildren, Vincent Thomas Buck Twinn, Andrew William Deatrick, and Earl Deatrick Van Norman; stepdaughter, Dale (Richard) Mangan and sons, E. Buck (Annalise) Mangan, and Wade (Gwen) Mangan; stepdaughter-in-law, Jo Weidenhammer and daughters, Victoria (Karl) Narveson, Monique (Matt) Day, Sabrina (Bill) Stevens; and several step-great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Margaret) Deatrick; nieces, Nancy (John) LaRocca, and Marilyn (Peter) Knoblauch; nephew, William C. (Kathy) Deatrick; ex-wife, Jean Deatrick; son-in-law, Gary Twinn.

Mr. Deatrick is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gladys; brother, Chadwick; stepson, Robert Weidenhammer; and step-great grandson, Derek Narveson.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or to St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral.

John A. Kinsell

Services for John A. Kinsell, 76, of Maple Grove were Monday, July 26, 2004, at the Lakewood Chapel in Minneapolis.

Interment was at the Lakewood Cemetery.

He passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, July 20, 2004, after an extended illness.

Mr. Kinsell was a Navy Veteran and graduate of Dunwoody Institute. He worked as an architectural designer, designing over 8,000 homes and buildings in the Twin Cities and surrounding area over the last 50 years.

He is survived by his son, John (fiancée Terri); daughters, Kathryn (Dale) Mader, and Susan (Joe) Jacques; sister, Val Cloutier; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Robert and Jeanne McDaniel, and Orrin (Buster) Stavig; grandchildren, Ryan and Justin Mader, Jenny Kinsell, Jackie, Joe and John Jacques; step-grandchildren, Craig Mader, Nic, Zack and Jake Bond; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mr. Kinsell is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; parents, John and Belva Kinsell; and sister, Virginia Stavig.

Memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.

Gregory P. Kline

Services for Gregory P. Kline, 48, of Brooklyn Park were Monday, July 26, 2004, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brooklyn Center.

Interment was at the Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope.

Mr. Kline died Thursday, July 22, 2004, in Brooklyn Park. He was born Nov. 18, 1955 in St. Paul.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane of Maple Grove; brother, Stephen (Lisa) of Maple Grove; sister, Sheila (Scott) Johnson of Maple Grove; nieces, Amy (Stephen) Irrgang, Abby Kline, and Samantha Johnson; nephews, Andrew Kline and Slater Johnson; great-niece, Emma Kline.

Mr. Kline is preceded in death by his father, Paul Kline.

If so, desired memorials may be given to the Gregory P. Kline Memorial Fund.

Maxine F. Brown

Services for Maxine F. Brown, 69, of Maple Grove took place Thursday, July 15, 2004, at the Church of St. Bartholomew in Wayzata.

Interment was at Glen Haven Cemetery.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Robert; children, Victoria (Vincent) Schultz, Dennis (Sharon) Narog, Tami Narog, and Christina (Arch) Spencer; grandchildren, Julie Ann, Lucas, Jacob, Grace and Anna; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Paige, William Jr., Sonny, Nikel and Kyla; sister, Novella Sweeney; godchild, Kathy (Jeff) Ullom; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her parents, John and Gina Olson; brothers, Jerome, LeRoy, Dwight and Richard; aunt, Naomi Lawson; and cousin, Berdella Fick.
