Lillian L. Barfknecht

Services for Lillian L. Barfknecht, 87, of Watertown, formerly of Montrose, were Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano.

Pastor Paul Marggraf officiated and interment was in the West Mt. Olive Cemetery in rural Delano.

Casket bearers were Alan Barfknecht, Glen Barfknecht, Bob Parrack, Sam Parrack, Milan Moy and Myron Moy.

Mrs. Barfknecht died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at her home in Watertown. She was born Aug. 31, 1916 to Emil and Martha (Krause) Wandersee in Delano.

She was preceded in death by husband, Arthur A.H. Barfknecht, as well as her parents, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by son, Gary (Karol) Barfknecht; grandchildren, Alan (Sarah) Barfknecht, Glen (Anne) Barfknecht and Lynn (Bob) Parrack; seven grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Cora Lange, Virginia Barfknecht and Hilda Ketcher.

John Edgar Ringwald

Services for John Edgar Ringwald, 80, of rural Delano, were Monday, June 21, 2004, at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano.

Rev. David Garwick of Christ Lutheran Church in Maple Plain officiated and interment was in the Delano Public Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Ringwald, Chris Adams, Jim Adams, James Adams, Michael Kingery and Chris Hawkinson.

Mr. Ringwald died Friday, June 18, 2004, at his home in Rockford Township. He was born to Clarence and Elizabeth (Mapes) Ringwald in Middle Point, Ohio.

He was employed as a farmer and factory worker during his earlier working life and has been active in the auto auction for almost the past 20 years.

He is survived by wife, Virginia; daughters, Gloria (Larry) Schwartz, Rebecca Rase, Tena (Jack) McDaniel and Kathryn (James) Adams; son, James (Jean) Ringwald; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters.

Duane Hofmeister

Services for Duane Hofmeister, 82, of Dayton were Thursday, June 17, 2004, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Elk River.

Mr. Hofmeister passed away June 14, 2004. He loved playing cards and found many places to play. He was also a woodworker, and was able to create just about anything by just seeing it.

He was preceded in death by wife, Rita; and children, MaryLouise, Patsy Barthel and Jerry.

He is survived by children, Dennis (Kathy), Dick (Judy), Ann (Russ) Mingo, Jim, Mark, Rosemary (Sven) Nelson, and Gretchen (John) Guyer; 36 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Jonathan "Jon" Ogren

Ogren Jonathan "Jon" Ogren, age 18, of Champlin, passed away unexpectedly on June 10. Loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Douglas & Beverly; sister, Christina (Lucas) Esler; brother, Dan (Colleen); nieces, Laney and Kaylee; nephew, Cole; other loving family and many friends. Funeral service were Tuesday, June 15 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Ramsey. Interment at the Champlin Cemetery.

Richard Masloski

Funeral services for Richard Masloski, 55, of Champlin were Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at the Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home in Anoka.

Mr. Masloski died May 28, 2004. He was born Aug. 18, 1948.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; and brother, Charles.

He is survived by children: Anne Coffey, Cindy Lundstrom, Carrie Masloski and Mark Masloski; grandchildren, Alyxis and Kienan Lundstrom, Kalyn Coffey and George Peterson; mother, Louise Maskloski; brothers, Bill and David; sisters, Patricia, Marie and Sandra; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Agnes R. Murphy

Services for Agnes R. Murphy, 86, of Nebraska, formerly of Osseo were Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Christ the King Church in Omaha, Neb.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha, Neb.

Mrs. Murphy passed away Thursday, May 20, 2004, in Omaha, Neb. She and Don, her husband, lived in Osseo from 1940 to 1963.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Don; sister, Betty Heimel of Oakdale; daughters, Peggy (David) Van Lear of East Gull Lake, Colleen (Robert) Tigelman of Akron, Ohio, Susan Murphy of Chicago, Ill. and Beth Murphy of Minneapolis; son-in-law, Timothy Rife of Lincoln, Neb.; grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Van Lear of Haleiwa, Hawaii, and Katie and Maggie Rife of Lincoln, Neb.

Mrs. Murphy is preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Charlotte "Chuck" Murphy.

The family suggests memorials to Christ the King Educational Trust or Omaha Community Foundation Fund for Omaha, Girls and Boys Town or the donor's favorite charity.

Ron Niesen

Services for Ronald "Ron" Dale Niesen, 47, of Nevis, were Friday, June 4, 2004, at Cease Funeral Home Chapel in Nevis, with Rev. Barry Klein officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Chris Daniels, Eric Nelson, Roger Plumley, Gary Evers, Mic Jackson, Andy Lindow, Don Umthun, Pat Eischens, Bruce Pawelk, Bob Davis, Bill McDunn, Dale Hepokoski, and Bruce Babler. A gathering of family and friends was at the Niesen residence after the services.

Mr. Niesen died Friday, May 28, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.

He will be greatly missed by his family: his father, Harry (Tillie); his mother, Carol Dorn; his grandmother, Vi Niesen; his daughters, Teresa (Darin) and Lisa (Karl); his stepchildren, David (Rhonda), Amanda (Jesten), and Courtney; his grandchildren, Dylan, Austin, Paige and Alexia; his brother, Rick (Sandra); his sister, Rene; his nephews, Nick and Kyle; his niece, Nicole; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

He was preceded in death by both grandfathers, his maternal grandmother and an infant niece.

Margaret A. Seidenkranz

A memorial service Margaret A. Seidenkranz, 92, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Osseo will be Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 710 Broadway St. in Osseo.

Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Osseo.

Mrs. Seidenkranz died Tuesday, March 16, 2004. She was born June 9, 1911, to Hudson and Esther Guy in Cedar.

She graduated from St. Cloud State Teacher's College in St. Cloud, and was a kindergarten teacher for the Osseo Minnesota School District until she retired in 1971.

Mrs. Seidenkranz was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Osseo and attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Venice, Fla. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 179 of Osseo.

One of her favorite activities was gardening.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Victor of Venice, Fla.; son, Timothy (Ann) of Venice, Fla.; and loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Seidenkranz is preceded in death by her son, Dennis; brother, Aldean Guy; and sister, Evelyn Rodgers.

If desired memorials may be given to the Margaret Seidenkranz Memorial Fund, 879 Royal Rd. in Venice, Fla. 34293.

Joe C. Youngs

Services for Joe Casey Youngs, 78, of Maple Grove were Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Plymouth Presbyterian Church.

A private interment was at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Maple Grove.

Mr. Youngs died Tuesday, May 25, 2004. He was born Feb. 25, 1926.

He retired in 1986 after 42 years with the Soo Line Rail Road.

Mr. Youngs was a past member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Duluth, past member of 1st Presbyterian Church and chancel choir member in Bismarck, N.D. and current member of Plymouth Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of Rotary Club International and Fraternal Order of Elks.

He was an avid chess problemist, bridge player and a master gardener.

Mr. Youngs is survived by his wife, Carole Anne; sons, Steven (Maria) Youngs of Eden Prairie, and Gary (Crystal) Youngs of Shakopee; daughter, Gail Marie (Kenneth) Snyder of Andover; 10 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends.

James A. Curtis

Services for James A. Curtis, age 55, of Maple Grove were Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Sarah and Julie; son, Michael (fiancée Jennifer Wuollet); granddaughter, Lauren; brother, Tom (Mary); other relatives and friends.

Mr. Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Pauline.

Harold L. Hill

Services for Harold L. Hill, 90, of Maple Grove were Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.

Interment was at Maple Knoll Cemetery in Maple Grove.

Mr. Hill died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, in Robbinsdale. He was born Jan. 27, 1914, in Hudson, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen; children, Vicki, Lee, Randy, and Scott; two brothers, three sisters; seven grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Julie A. McDonald

Services for Julie A. McDonald, age 85, of Rose Arbor of Chapelwood in Maple Grove, formerly of Edina were Saturday, May 22, 2004, at St. Stephen the Martyr Episcopal Church in Edina.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mrs. McDonald died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, after a long illness. She was born Sept. 21, 1918.

She attended Washburn High School in Minneapolis and graduated from St. Mary's Hall in Faribault. Mrs. McDonald attended Ward-Belmont College in Nashville, Tenn., and earned her teaching certificate from Miss Wood's Kindergarten Primary Training School in Minneapolis. She taught school for a short time in Spring Valley, Wis.

Mrs. McDonald was a long-time resident of Edina and a member of the Edina Women's Club.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Orville; daughters, Sandy (Bill) Spofford of Platteville, Wis., and Jo (Kenny) Mart of Brooklyn Park; son, David (Carol) McDonald of Ramsey; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McDonald is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Lee and Josephine Harker; brother, John G. Harker; daughter-in-law, Candy McDonald; and grandson, Donny Mart.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Marjorie Y. Wood

Services for Marjorie Y. Wood, age 64, of Osseo (Bloomington) were Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Lutheran Church of the Redemption in Bloomington.

Mrs. Wood passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2004.

She is survived by her son, Kevin (Sandy); brothers, Clayton, Marlo and Dennis; sisters, Jean, Angeline (Mary), Janet, Argyle, Delores and Gayle; and many other friends, relatives and loved ones.

Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Velma Hahn; and sisters, Fay and Gloraine.
