Benet Allphonse Praught

Benet Allphonse Praught, 79, of Wauchula, Fla., formerly of Albertville, died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at home.

Funeral took place at St. Michael Catholic Church at Wauchula, and interment will be in St. Albert's Cemetery in Albertville.

Mr. Praught is survived by his wife, Loretta Macke Praught, 12 children, 40 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two brothers and six sisters.

Elaine Roseland

A memorial service for Elaine Bernice Roseland (Lucht), 75, will be Saturday, May 22, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Christ's Community Church, 13250 93rd Ave. N. in Maple Grove.

Mrs. Roseland died Monday, May 10, 2004. She was born May 10, 1929, in Osseo to Arnold and Margaret Lucht.

She is a graduate of University of Minnesota's School of Agriculture. She received a bachelor of arts degree.

Mrs. Roseland married Lloyd Roseland October 2, 1948. She was a homemaker and member of the Osseo Church of the Nazarene and Brookdale Covenant Church and Christ's Community Church. She sang in the choir, was a Sunday school teacher and taught junior high classes.

She is survived by her sisters, Marion Colley and Ramona Lucht; daughter, Joy Schatz; son, Lon Roseland; foster daughter, Gay Kaiser; foster son, Jason Collins; and three adoptive granddaughters.

Mrs. Roseland also enjoyed camping, biking and learning. She loved the mountains.

Keith Sandness

Funeral services for Keith Sandness, 41, formerly of Maple Grove were Monday, April 5, 2004, in South Dakota.

Mr. Sandness died tragically Wednesday, March 31, 2004, in Wagner, S.D.

He moved to Wagner, S.D. a year and a half ago to reconnect with his Native American roots. He will be missed very much.

He survived by his father, David Sandness; daughter, Laneeta; sisters, Ae-soon, Kim, Cindy, Jennifer, Carla, Saba, Genet, Lara, Dezirae, Heather and Kari; brothers, Steve, Yonas and Aaron; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Sandness is preceded in death by his mother, Grace Sandness.

John Anderson

Services for John Gordon Anderson, 60, of Ramsey were Friday, April 23, 2004, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover.

Rev. Paul R. Settergren officiated and interment followed at The Hanover Village Cemetery. Organist for the funeral service was Colleen Johnson. Soloist was Jane Ann Settergren and she sang "His Eye Is on the Sparrow," "Amazing Grace," and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee."

Casket Bearers were Matt Birr, Tim Birr, John Anderson, Jeff Anderson, Brian Dubbelde and Eric McCullum.

Mr. Anderson died peacefully April 18. He was an avid woodworker well known for making his rocking horse coin banks, semi-trailer cribbage boards and other various wooden crafts. He worked for Ware Manufacturing for 28 years.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine: daughters, Tammy (Chris) Myhre, Kim (Chris) Peterson, and Deanna (John) DiSanto; son, Wade (Kim) Anderson; brother, Tom Anderson; and four sisters, Jackie Birr, Gerri Bowman, Sandy and Sue Anderson. He had eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.

Morris E. Barnes

Services for Morris E. "Barney" Barnes, 78, of Rockford, were Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano.

Rev. Tyler Grant officiated and interment was in Dawn Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bloomington.

Casket bearers were Mike Swanson, Jr., James Barnes, Christopher Barnes, Bill Swanson, Scott Annis and Dan Jasper.

Mr. Barnes died Thursday, April 8, 2004 at the Buffalo Hospital. He was born June 3, 1925 to John and Mabel (Gross) Barnes in LaCaygne, Kan.

He served his country in the military twice, once during World War II in the service of the Navy, achieving the rank of Boatswains Mate 2c. His second period of service was in the Army, where his rank was Sergeant.

He loved life and he was a goer and doer, needing to be active. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. A casino trip with his family was always in order, and invariably he would end up winning more than anyone else.

He was preceded in death by wife, Wanda. He is survived by daughters, Janis Annis, Jo Ellen Barnes and Diana (Michael) Swanson; son, Steve (Donna) Barnes; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Kathryn Bjorkstrand

Services for Kathryn Bjorkstrand, 59, of Champlin are today, Tuesday, May 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Spring Lake Park Baptist Church.

Interment is in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mrs. Bjorkstrand is urvived by husband, Clifford; daughter, Karen (Joel) Carlson; sons, Ron (Susan), and Scott (Jacky); grandchildren, Amber, Hunter, Mariah, Emily, Evan and Thomas; mother, Ella Adams; brother, Don (Ann); sister, Debby (Ron) Meese; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by father, Kenneth; brothers, George and Gerald.

Memorials preferred to Fairview University Medical Center Women's Cancer Floor.

Lorrayne E. Heinrich

A memorial service for Lorrayne E. Heinrich, 85, of Brooklyn Center was Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.

Interment was at Rush Creek Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Robert (Adele) and Grant (Dawn) Heinrich; daughters, Peggy (Gary) Voight, Pat (Donovan) Johnson, Sharon (Gary) Segelstrom, and Debbie Heinrich; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Norma Wadsworth.

Mrs. Heinrich is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; son, Thomas; and brother, Cy McHugh.

Irma Hertaus

Services for Irma M. Hertaus, 75, of Rogers were Thursday, April 29, 2004, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Elk River.

She died unexpectedly at Guardian Angels Care Center April 25.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Mark J. Ahner; and sister, Ursula Dehn.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Richard; children, Louise (Kevin) Ahner, Allen, Dennis and Ron (Heather); grandchildren Michael, Joseph, James and Jonah; and great-granddaughter Theresa Ahner.

She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, gardening, flowers and birds. Also, she made jellies and jams and enjoyed canning.

Mrs. Hertaus was devoted to her family and church.

Charles Holland

Memorial services for Charles "Henry" Holland, 66, of Osseo were held in Osseo.

Cremation will be determined at a later date.

Mr. Holland died Thursday, April 15, 2004, after a long battle with cardiopulmonary disease.

He was a Master Chief Petty Officer (Ret.) in the U.S. Navy. During his 28-year career, he traveled with world to serve and protect his country. Mr. Holland earned a bachelor of science in technology from Memphis State University and was an accomplished master electrician.

Mr. Holland is survived by his wife, Peggy Skaggs and step-daughter Ann of Osseo; son, Dan; daughter-in-law, Donna; grandchildren, Lauren and Lindsey of Roswell, Ga., and Andrew Holland of Los Angeles, Calif.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nell Holland; and brother, Herman.

Della Johnson

Services for Della Elizabeth Johnson, 81, formerly of South Minneapolis, were held Friday, April 23, 2004, at 5 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Rev. Brian Lother officiated.

Mrs. Johnson died Tuesday, April 20, at Park View Care Center in Buffalo. She was born May 25, 1922, near Arlington, S.D., the daughter of Fred L. and Sophia L. Drugger Larson.

Della was formerly employed for many years as a waitress at Dayton's Sky Room. She was a past member of Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis.

She is survived by loving daughter, Jodette K. "Jody" Johnson of St. Michael; sisters, Ina Buck and Velma Pickering; a brother, Helge Larson; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

Gordon F. Kersten

Services for Gordon F. Kersten, 79, of Maple Plain, were Sunday, May 2, 2004, at the Delano Evangelical Free Church.

Pastor Peter Johannsen officiated and interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonee, Wis. Casket bearers were grandchildren, Tony, Nicki, Jeni, Tanya, Joe, Matthias, Missie, Bethany, Margaret, Cassie, Kyle and Jarrod.

Mr. Kersten died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. He was born April 23, 1925 to Charles and Bertha (Witt) Kersten in Rochester. He was the fourth of five boys.

He grew up in Rochester, but spent most of his summers at the family lake cabin near Underwood. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 at the age of 17 and served in the Pacific fleet aboard the USS California. He became an electrician, at which he did a variety of work, including residential and industrial. He spent several months installing a radar system in Greenland for the United States. He retired after 23 years with Ford's generating plant as a master electrician at Lock and Dam No. 1.

Mr. Kersten enjoyed bird watching, Viking football games, ice cream and looking at old cars (they don't build them like they used to). He was a very patriotic man, he loved to tell stories from his days on the California and he always wanted an American flag displayed in his room. He was a lifetime member of the Wisconsin American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia; parents, Charles and Bertha Kersten and brother, Edward. He is survived by children, Cliff (Marla) Kersten, Kristie (Dave) Kittok, Mike Kersten, Debra Kersten, Jeff Kersten and Sue Kersten and fiancee, Steven Drew; grandchildren, Jarrod, Cassie, Kyle, Bethaney, Melissa, Matthias, Margaret, Stephanie, Tony, Stephanie, Joe, Tanya, Nicki and Jeni; great-grandchildren, Dameon and Issac; brothers, Robert (Betty) Kersten, Donald (Babs) Kersten and Richard (Carol) Kersten.

Andrew Kieley

Services for Andrew "Andy" J. Kieley, 29, a music teacher from North East Minneapolis were Thursday April 15, 2004, at 11 a.m. at New Life Christian Center in Rogers.

Rev. Larry Patterson officiated.

Kyle Kelly, Dan Cook "Washington" and Corey Ballinger served as honorary casket bearers.

Jordy Anderson, Justin Allen, Nate Allenson, Andy Aswegan, Sam Choo and Greg Mohs served as casket bearers.

A visitation was Wednesday, April 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. More than 500 people came to the reviewal.

Mr. Kieley died April 12 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

He was born in Minneapolis Feb. 20, 1975, the son of Doug and Genny Zak Kieley.

He worked for several schools teaching music.

He is survived by his parents, Doug and Genny Kieley of St. Michael; a brother, Joe (Melanie) Kieley of Brooklyn Park; two nephews, D.J. and Anthony Kieley of Brooklyn Park; grandparents, Gerald and Vivian Kieley of Little Falls; his cats, Britney, Maddog, KG, Duece, Maynard and Crazy Legs; aunts, uncles, other relatives, friends and students.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Mary Zak; and an uncle, Ray Jr.
