Thomas C. Truax
A memorial service for Thomas C. Truax, 85, of Osseo was Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, where tributes were delivered by several members of his family. An exceptional eulogy was presented by his cousin and friend, Richard Truax of Prescott, Wis.
A graveside ceremony is planned for June at Mr. Truax's birthplace in Hastings.
Mr. Truax died peacefully at home Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, after a lengthy illness.
He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he also earned a master's degree in education. He taught biology, chemistry, physics, and other science courses for many years at high schools in Pipestone, Virginia, and Osseo.
In the late 1960s, he spent his summers teaching at the Nova Scotia Teacher's College. He also served as high school principal at Dassel and was the golf coach at Osseo for many years.
Mr. Truax served as an artilleryman in the 96th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during WWII on the islands of Leyte and Okinawa. During his years in Pipestone, he also worked as a park ranger at the Pipestone National Monument.
He is survived by his spouse, Bernice; seven children, 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Leon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Osseo Fire Department, 415 Central Ave, Osseo MN 55369.
Agnes M. Wallace
A prayer service for Agnes Mary Wallace, 88, was Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.
Mass of Christian burial will be in Nassau, Bahamas.
Mrs. Wallace died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, in Golden Valley. She was born May 18, 1915, in Andros, Bahamas.
She is survived by her son, Prince (Sandra) of Bloomington; grandchildren, Gregory (Jennifer), Joseph (Annie), and Andrea; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, Samuel and Winnington; and sister, Eva Cartwright of Andros, Bahamas.
Mrs. Wallace is preceded in death by her husband, Felix.
Gerald L. Waller
Services for Gerald L. "Jerry" Waller, 64, of Brooklyn Park were Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.
Interment was at the Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum.
Mr. Waller died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, in Owatonna. He was born July 25, 1939, in Nebraska City, Neb.
He worked for the Ben Franklin, Inc. for 32 years before retiring in 1996.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Ann; children, Chris (Ann) Waller, Jerri Ann (Don) Organ, and Joe (Jen) Waller; sister, Mary Harbaugh; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Waller is preceded in death by his father, Ore Waller; mother, Catherin (Erhart) Waller; and brothers, Virgil and Ronald.
Bernard J. Wurscher
Services for Bernard "Bud" J. Wurscher, 88, of Osseo and Robbinsdale were Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.
Interment was in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church Cemetery in Lucan.
Mr. Wurscher died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, from medical complications. He was born Jan. 19, 1915, on a farm just outside of Lucan.
He graduated from high school in Milroy in 1932 and was an avid sportsman and athlete. He attended college for two years, playing football and running track at Mankato Teacher's College from 1935 to 1937.
An excellent baseball player, Mr. Wurscher played semi-pro ball for city teams such as Wabasso for many years in the 1930s and 40s.
Mr. Wurscher married Neoma Hemmingsen from Redwood Falls at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall in December of 1945.
Just after WWII, he became a police officer in Marshall, rising to the chief of police position before departing for South Dakota in 1962.
He lived in Wilton, N.D. from 1964 to 1985 working as a police officer and elevator manager, then returned to Minnesota.
For the past 18 years he has resided in retirement homes in Osseo and Robbinsdale and was in reasonably good health up until his death. Mr. Wurscher was still following baseball and debating politics with staff and acquaintances.
He is survived by his wife, Neoma; children, Joan Miller of Jordan, Jean Hodges of Bismark, N.D., and Jay Wurscher of Portland, Ore.; and five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Vickie Harne
Services for Vickie Harne, 51, of Maple Grove were Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Advent Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.
Mrs. Harne went home to be with her Lord Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, surrounded by her beloved family, after living with cancer for five and a half years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend and servant of God. She touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had amazing strength and unwavering faith.
Thank you to all of her friends from whom she drew great comfort and support.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lyle; children, Andy (Kristen), Kate (Aaron) Kardell, and Ben; father, James Tripp; sister, Mary (Robey) Price; aunt, Florence Kilner; parents-in-law, Floyd and Harriet; many other family and friends.
Mrs. Harne is preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Tripp.
Barbara J. Miller
A memorial service for Barbara "Betty" J. Miller, 86, formerly of Osseo will be Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at 6:30 p.m. at Lyngblomsten Center Chapel, 1415 Almond Ave. in St. Paul
There will be a private interment at Kinkead's Cemetery in Alexandria.
Mrs. Miller passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005.
She lived in Osseo and worked at the Osseo Bakery many years. She was a wonderful mother, and "the world's best Grandma" who loved to cook and bake for her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Alfred Jr. (Sandy) Miller, Diana (Richard) Johnston, Charles (Joyce) Miller, Roger (Pat) Miller; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Miller is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Sr. in 1974.
Memorials preferred to Lyngblomsten Care Center.
Ronald L. Libby
Services for Ronald "Bud" L. Libby, 77, formerly of Robbinsdale were Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at Advent Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.
Mr. Libby and his wife, Marilyn, owned and operated Libby's Superette and Bass Lake Bottle Shop from 1968 until 1990, when he retired.
In the early 1980's, he planted and tended to a large apple orchard up on Long Lake in Dassel.
In the early 1990's he decided that he wanted a better place to fish, so he moved on up to a different getaway place, Lady Lake in Grey Eagle. Mr. Libby spent many summer hours up there fishing and gardening, which he loved.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Lisa), and David; granddaughters, Sarah and Taylor, who will truly miss their Gramps.
Mr. Libby is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn.
William Robbins
Services for William "Bill" Monroe Robbins, 72, of Maple Plain were Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
Interment was Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Calvary Cemetery in Pierre, S.D.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 12, 2005, at 1 p.m. at the St. Edward's Episcopal Church in Wayzata.
Mr. Williams died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. He was born July 4, 1932, to Clarence and L. Geraldine (McNicol) Robbins in Pierre, S.D.
He attended and graduated from Pierre High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army Artillery from 1953 to 1955. Upon discharge, he entered the University of Minnesota where he earned a BA in economics in 1957. His career with Nash Finch spanned a period of 39 1/2 years. During this time he worked in Minot, N.D., from 1965 to 1968; Sioux Falls, S.D., from 1968 to 1973 and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, from 1973 to 1976. In 1976 he became Director of Independent Operations, a position he held from 1976 to 1986. In 1986 he took the position of Director of Training-Mgt. operations, which led to his position of customer relations that he held at retirement in 1997.
Bill married his high school sweetheart Jill in 1954 and together they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Williams was active. He was a past president of the Minnesota Horse Council, member of the St. Edwards Episcopal Church, member of the Twin City Polo Club, Lions International, Elks, and Rotary. He enjoyed people. His family, and especially his granddaughters were a focus of his life.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Jill; his children, Billy Robbins, Craig Robbins, Katy and Bobby Crofutt, and Jane and Joe Fake; and granddaughters Kylie and Kirby Crofutt, Samantha and Julia Fake and Sarah Jane Fake.
Genevieve A. Henk
Services for Genevieve A. Henk, 91, of Waverly were Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly.
Rev. Timothy Cloutier was the celebrant and interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Special music was provided by Lyne Daniels and Mary Klingelhoets.
Honorary casket bearer was William Sawatzke.
Casket bearers were Steve Stotko, Mike Stotko, Joe Stotko, Joe Winkelman, Larry Gunderson and Bill Henk.
Mrs. Henk died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at her residence. She was born June 2, 1913, in St. Paul the daughter of Joseph C. and Anna Fautch Stotko.
She graduated from Montrose High School in 1932.
On June 8, 1937, Genevieve A. Stotko and William C. Henk were joined in holy marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly. God blessed their marriage with two sons.
Through the years, Gen was employed at the Waverly Post Office, Brinkton Manufacturing and later for many years at Minnegasgo. She was a faithful member of the Church of St. Mary in Waverly. She also belonged to the Auxiliary of American Legion Post 315.
Mrs. Henk is survived by sons, Dr. Edward (Suzanne) Henk of Buffalo, and Randy Henk of Waverly; grandchildren, Julia (Joseph) Winkelman, William Henk and Hillary Henk; great grandchildren, Lauren and Keianna Winkelman; brother, Vincent Stotko of St. Charles, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Charlene and Laura Stotko; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, William C. Henk in 1952; parents Joseph C. and Anna Stotko; six brothers, Lawrence, George, Edward, Leonard, Robert "Joe" and Jerome Stotko; and by two sisters, Gertrude Sawatzke and Angela Reindl.
Erik S. Anderson
Services for Erik S. Anderson, 16, of Delano were Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at the Delano High School auditorium.
Visitation was Saturday afternoon and evening at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano and continued at the school on Sunday.
Rev. Peter Johannsen officiated at the service.
Interment was at the SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Loretto.
Erik died tragically in an automobile crash Wednesday, Feb. 16. He was born May 9, 1988, to Stephen and Mandy (Paumen) Anderson in Robbinsdale.
He was a son, grandson, friend and lover of music.
Erik was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Gervaise Falk, Leonard and Muriel Paumen and Leonard Driscoll.
He is survived by his mother, Mandy Dongoski and her fiancé, Dale Henderson; father, Stephen Anderson; grandparents, Maurice and Karen Paumen, and Joseph and Dorothy Anderson; great-grandmother, Betty Driscoll; and many other family and friends.
