Randy J. Schlagel

Services for Randy J. Schlagel, 47, of Delano were Friday, Jan. 21, at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

Reverend Josh Nelson officiated. Lorraine Wolff was the organist for the funeral service.

Mr. Schlagel died early Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at his residence. He was born on July 23, 1957, in Minneapolis the son of John J. and Joyce L. Schneller Schlagel.

Mr. Schlagel graduated from Delano High School in 1975 and was formerly employed at Rockite Silo Company.

Mr. Schlagel enjoyed Fishing, hunting, motorcycles, snowmobiling and traveling.

Survived by his mother, Joyce Schlagel; brothers, Daniel Schlagel and Richard Schlagel all of Delano; nephews, Brady Schlagel, Dustin Schlagel and Duane Schlagel; a great-niece, Gina; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his brother, David Schlagel on Jan. 24, 1988; his father, John Schlagel on June 6, 1999 and loving companion, Sherri "Murf" Peterson on Sept. 29, 2003.

Earl Weber

Services for Earl Joseph Weber, 86, of Watertown, formerly of St. Michael, were Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at St. Mary of Czestochowa in Franklin Township.

Rev. Joseph Gallatin was the celebrant. Interment with military rites followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

Rose Motzko was the organist for the mass.

Casket bearers were Eric David, Amber and Corey Weber, Cami Persson and Andrew Weber.

Mr. Weber died Friday, Jan. 21, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. He was born Sept. 15, 1918, in Ipswich, S.D., the son of Stephen and Hannah Bastein Weber.

He served his Country in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II.

On Sept. 19, 1939, Earl J. Weber and Ethel C. Holker were joined in holy marriage at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Monticello. God blessed their marriage with five sons, Donald, Ronald, Gary, Martin and Gordon.

He was formerly employed at Welter Implement, the city of Crystal and at Bergstrom Implement.

He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council 5371492.

Mr. Weber is survived by sons, Donald (Shirley) Weber of Katy, Texas, Ronald (Barbara) Weber of Gilbert, Ariz., Gary (Evelyn) Weber of Espanola, N.M., Martin (Diane) Weber of Delano, and Gordon (Andrea) Weber of Maple Grove; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brothers and a sister, Alvin (Viola) Weber of Ipswich, S.D., Robert (Bernice) Weber of St. Michael and Virginia (Harold) Jenson of Watertown, S.D.; sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Rose Weber; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel C. Weber Oct. 25, 1996; parents, Steve and Hannah; brothers, Leo and Daniel.

Louis Westrom

Services for Louis Westrom, 86, of Champlin were Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Servant of Christ Lutheran Church in Champlin.

Interment was in Riverview Cemetery in West St. Paul.

Mr. Westrom died on Sunday, Jan. 23, at the Veteran's Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born May 21, 1918, to Bernard and Gina Westrom.

He is survived by sons, Jerry (Betty) Westrom of New York, Louis (Chris) Westrom of Rosemount, and Stan (Grace) Westrom of Champlin; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, George (Sally) Westrom of California, and Norlin (Emma) Westrom of Elbow Lake; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife, Phyllis; daughter, Luella Severson; parents, Bernard and Gina Westrom; brother, Sidney Westrom; and sister, Blanche Ricks.

Terry Torgerson

Services for Terry Lynn Torgerson, 51, of Loretto were Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 9:30 a.m. at the Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home. Pastor Scott Vandenheuvel officiated.

Interment was in Big Grove Cemetery in Brooten.

Casket bearers were Douglas Jackson, Jeff Torgerson, Steve Aeshliman, Mike Torgerson, John Berry, Andrew Torgerson, Greg Hafften and Phil Peikert.

She died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at the Hennepin County Medical Center. She was born in Minneapolis August 2, 1953 the daughter of Woodrow J. and Vickie L. Berg Torgerson.

She graduated from Rockford High School in 1971. She later attended the Minnesota School of Business majoring in fashion merchandising. She was also a State Certified Water Tester and worked in the office at Torgerson Well Co.

She enjoyed sewing, wood crafting, gardening and was an excellent seamstress.

Mrs. Torgerson is survived children, Daniel Robert (Paula) Schmidt, Rachelle Lynn (Michael) McDougall and Jennifer Mae (Keith) Watkins; grandchildren, Jordan and Tanner, Khala, Brittany and Nicholas, and Kjersten and Ty; parents, Woodrow & Vickie Torgerson; brothers and a sister, Steven (Charlotte) Torgerson, Ronald (Lori) Torgerson, Dean (Becky) Torgerson and LaRae (Gordon) Nelson; maternal grandmother, Edith "Tim" Berg; former husband, Roy D. Schmidt; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Goldie and Ordean Torgerson, maternal grandpa, Elmer Berg, an uncle, Robert, an aunt, Evelyn; and by a cousin, Bobby.

Verle Hackler

Services for Verle F. Hackler, 75, of Minneapolis were Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Anoka.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Hackler was born March 13, 1929, in Corcoran, and died Jan. 20 in Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by wife, Ethelwyne;

He is survived by daughter, Pamela Christian of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Alissa Diedrich of Tucson; Tyler Diedrich of Minneapolis; McGenzi Diedrich of Burnsville; brothers, Lloyd (Mildred) of Pine City; George (Mardell) of Wadena; and sister-in-law, Verneda Hackler of St. Michael.

Lambert M. Eicher

Servcies for Lambert M. Eicher, 94, of St. Michael were Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at the St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Michael Becker was the Celebrant. Interment was in St. Michael Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Mark Belchak, David Belchak, Cory Eicher, Jed Eicher, Josh Eicher, Jared Eicher and Stephen Berg.

Mr. Eicher died Monday, Jan. 24, at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo. He was born March 21, 1910, in St. Michael the son of George and Annie Hengels Eicher.

On Oct. 9, 1940, Lambert M. Eicher and Irene B. Gutzwiller were joined in holy marriage at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. God blessed their marriage with four children.

Mr. Eicher owned and operated for many years L. M. Eicher Masonry.

Mr. Eicher was a faithful, lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael. He also belonged to the Catholic Aid Association and to the St. Michael Society.

He formerly served on the St. Michael Village Council and was a volunteer fireman on the St. Michael Fire Department for almost 30 years.

He is survived by loving wife of 64 years, Irene B. Eicher; children, Yvonne (Eugene) Berg of Eveleth, Barbara (Kenneth) Belchak of Swatara, Donald (Bonnie) Eicher of St. Michael and Dennis (Charlotte) Eicher of Monticello; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandson; a great-grandson; parents, George and Annie Eicher; and by sisters, Valencia Eicher and Laura Dehmer.

Bernice Ruther

Services for Bernice Clara Ruther, 75, of Perham, Minn., were Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Perham, with Rev. Kevin Schwartz officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

She was a daughter of John and Mary K. (Lachowitzer) Hofmann. She was born March 31, 1929 at St. James Hospital in Perham.

Mrs. Ruther is survived by her husband, Norbert, of Perham; 11 children, John (Lynn) Ruther, Perham; Gene (Marcia) Ruther, Inver Grove Heights; Allen (Teresa) Ruther, Dent; Mark (Nelda) Ruther, Perham; Daryl (Susan) Ruther; Michael (Donna) Ruther, Perham; Bonnie (Curt) Eide, Erhard; Shirley (Ross) Weber, Ottertail; Thomas (Colleen) Ruther; Joan (Marlow) Priem, Carthage, Mo.; and Andrew (Linda) Ruther, Irving, Ky.; 43 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Mary) Hofmann; and three sisters, Agnes (Mike) Solarz, Mary Becker and Antoinette Becker.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Liane (Bruce) Lubitz; one granddaughter, Cheryl Lubitz; and one brother, James (Liane) Hofmann.

David Anderson

Services for David Jay Anderson, 17, of St. Michael were Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Michael Becker was the celebrant. Congregational hymns were "On Eagles' Wings," "Follow Me" and "Amazing Grace."

Interment was in St. Michael Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Tony Moore, Jesse Christensen, Matt Anderson, Kyle Stolis, Nick Franzen and Tony Bauer.

David died tragically from injuries he received in an auto crash Thursday, Jan. 20, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. He was born Dec. 4, 1987, in St. Louis Park the son of Denis and Jacque Gerdts Anderson.

He was currently in the 11th grade at St. Michael-Albertville High School. He loved to skateboard, snowboard and enjoyed cars.

David was a loving and caring son, brother, stepson and friend.

He is survived by mother, Jacque (Tim) Moore; father, Denis (Kellie) Anderson; a sister, Jennifer Anderson; brothers, Tony Moore and Samuel Anderson; aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Jane Gerdts, and paternal grandparents, W. Earl and Nadine Anderson.

A Memorial Fund in David's name has been set up at Great Northern Bank in St. Michael.

Lloyd A. Lenarz

Services for Lloyd A. Lenarz, 75, of Maple Grove were Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

Interment was at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Lenarz is survived by his children, John (Mary) Lenarz, Paul Lenarz, Mary Lenarz and their mother, Susan Lenarz; grandchildren, Madison, Aaron and Ashley Lenarz; sisters, Jean (Harold) Sinn, Loretta Weitzel and Marion Flaspeter; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Margaret Moeckel

Services for Margaret Moeckel, 92, of Osseo, formerly of Alexandria were Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria.

Interment was at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria.

She died Saturday, Jan. 22.

She is survived by her children, Virold (Vangie) Moeckel of The Villages, Fla., Stan Moeckel of Wishek, N.D., Inez (Jerry) Galloway of Grants Pass, Ore., Dorothy (Dan) Schlenker of St. Peter, Larry (Geri) Moeckel of Scottsdale, Ariz., Charlene (Jerry) Knudson of Maple Grove, and Curtis (Wendy) Moeckel of Ceylon; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; four sisters and one brother.

Wesley Vane Houser

Wesley Vane Houser age 83 of Montrose died on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Howard Lake Good Samaritan Center. He was born July 12, 1921 to Vane and Alda (Skiff-Zuelsdorff) Houser in Kelliher, Minnesota.

On November 23, 1944 Wesley was united in Marriage to Gladys R. Krambeal and together they shared 59 years of marriage.

Wesley was preceded in death by his wife Gladys. He is survived by his children, daughters: Susan and Conrad Hausladen, Candy Cardinal, and Linda and Dale Schwerin, sons: Dennis and Carol Houser, and Dale Houser, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter, brother Roland and Anita Houser, and sister Merle and Walter Brooker.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montrose. Rev. Robert J. Hellmann officiated at the service. Casket bearers were Wesley's grandchildren.

Arrangements by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, Minnesota.
