Bernice Ruther
Services for Bernice Clara Ruther, 75, of Perham, Minn., were Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Perham, with Reverend Kevin Schwartz officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
She was a daughter of John and Mary K. (Lachowitzer) Hofmann. She was born March 31, 1929 at St. James Hospital in Perham.
Mrs. Ruther is survived by her husband, Norbert, of Perham; 11 children, John (Lynn) Ruther, Perham; Gene (Marcia) Ruther, Inver Grove Heights; Allen (Teresa) Ruther, Dent; Mark (Nelda) Ruther, Perham; Daryl (Susan) Ruther; Michael (Donna) Ruther, Perham; Bonnie (Curt) Eide, Erhard; Shirley (Ross) Weber, Ottertail; Thomas (Colleen) Ruther; Joan (Marlow) Priem, Carthage, Mo.; and Andrew (Linda) Ruther, Irving, Ky.; 43 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Mary) Hofmann; and three sisters, Agnes (Mike) Solarz, Mary Becker and Antoinette Becker.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Liane (Bruce) Lubitz; one granddaughter, Cheryl Lubitz; and one brother, James (Liane) Hofmann.
Jerry Berdan
Services for Jerry 'Jerr' Berdan, 48, of Greenfield were Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Our Father's Lutheran Church in Rockford.
Visitation was Wednesday, Jan. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Chapel of Plymouth.
Mr. Berdan was a very much loved husband, dad, brother, son and friend. He died suddenly Sunday afternoon, Jan. 9.
He was preceded in death by father, Richard Berdan; and grandparents Ferdinand and Sophie Berdan and Christian and Gertrude Moelter.
He is survived by his wife, Jayna; daughters, Allyson, 17, Korissa, 16, and Allissa, 14; mother, Lucille Berdan; siblings, Ron (Mary) Berdan, Carol (Jim) Prokosch, Dave (Penny) Berdan, Joyce (Lynn) Krenz, Diane (Wes) Dodson, Brian (Lisa) Berdan and Denis (Lisa) Berdan; 25 nieces and nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
Cora Patchen
Services for Cora Patchen, 90, of Anoka, formerly of Champlin, were Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka.
Interment was in the Champlin Cemetery.
Mrs. Patchen was born to Jonas and Amanda (Johnson) Westman Aug. 16, 1914, in Coon Rapids.
She retired from Federal Cartridge and was very active in the Senior Center and her church.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Edward Anderson and Melvin Patchen.
She is survived by children, Sandra (Frank) Skaggs of California, Robert (Suzanne) Anderson of Champlin and Marvin (Denise) Anderson of Brooklyn Park; stepchildren, Gary (Sharon) Patchen and Tony (Carol) Patchen, all of Anoka, Carole (Chuck) Eiolola of Coon Rapids, Bonnie Casper of Illinois; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Walter Westman of White Bear Lake; nieces and nephews.
Memorials preferred to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Joseph F. Neaton
Services for Joseph F. Neaton, 79, were Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown.
Rev. Rfank Wampach officiated at the Mass, with music provided by the Immaculate Conception Church Choir and organist Mary Lou Jirik. Mr. Neaton's granddaughter Katie Ohland served as pianist. Casket bearers were Chris Neaton Dan Neaton, Jeff Neaton Joe Neaton, Sean Neaton, Scott Neaton and Taylor Neaton.
Mr. Neaton died at his home Jan. 8. He served in WWII in the Eighth Army Air Force stationed in England. He farmed in Hollywood Township since 1951 and completed his father's term as Carver County Commissioner upon his death in 1958. He was later elected commissioner and served from 1971 to 1986.
He was chairman of the board commissioners from 1976 to 1986, and served as representative of Carver County on the Metropolitan Council. He also volunteered for the Minnesota Associate of Public Schools (MAPP), and served as a school board member for Dist. 261, the last rural school to close in Carver County.
Mr. Neaton believed in preserving the family farm and rural life. He was a member of the Carver County National Farmers Organization (NFO) for 30 years as president, and served as editor of the chapter newsletter. He also maintained a membership in the Carver County Farmer's Union, and served on the boards of the Waconia Farm Supply and Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown.
Mr. Neaton was preceded in death by wife, Ann Althoff; parents, Michael and Bridget (Burns) Neaton; sister, Mary (Kosel) and brother-in-law Cy Kosel; and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Morris.
He is survived by wife, Marion (Cobian); children, Joseph and LuAnn Neaton, Mary and William Ohland, John, Michael, Brian, James, and Thomas; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Clara M. Hanson
Services for Clara M. Hanson, 94, of Delano were Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delano.
Rev. Timothy Cloutier officiated at the Mass.
Mrs. Hanson died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. She was born Nov. 6, 1910, to William and Mary (Dannaker) Zeiher in Dumont, Minn.
Clara was formerly of Graceville, Minn., and Bismarck, N.D. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard E. Hanson.
She is survived by her children, Jon and Beverly Hanson, Judy and Jim Zweifel, Robert and Carol Hanson, Janet and Duane Johnston, Steve and Diana Hanson, Helen and Dave Heilman, Chuck and Teri Hanson, and William and Lori Hanson, 25 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren and a brother Vic Zeiher.
Laura B. Zimmerman
Services for Laura B. Zimmerman, 108, will be Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at 7 p.m. at Osseo United Methodist Church, 16 Second Ave. S.E. with visitation one hour before.
A private interment will take place at Mound Cemetery in Brooklyn Center.
Ms. Zimmerman was born Nov. 17, 1896, in Brooklyn Township. She died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, in her sleep at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.
She was the third oldest of eight sisters and brothers born to Henry and Bertha.
She spent most of her life in Robbinsdale just off "the Drive" on Abbott Avenue N., before moving to Faribault in her 90s with neighbor Bernice Farley, who became her care giver.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Lillian (Alex) Zimmerman of Golden Valley and Eleanor (Les) Zimmerman of Big Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Zimmerman is preceded in death by her siblings, Alma, Henry, Goldie, Art, Alex, Leslie and Erna.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Osseo United Methodist church or St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.
Earl W. Wodtke
A memorial service for Earl W. Wodtke, 75, of Maple Grove was Friday, Jan. 14, 2005, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.
Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Mr. Wodtke died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, in Robbinsdale. He was born July 2, 1929, in Minneapolis.
He was an original member of the Kog's Car Club and was an AARP member.
He is survived by his sons, Al (Connie), Darrell (Sandy), Keith, and Steve (Leeann); daughter, Gwen (Bruce) Smith; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Fern).
Mr. Wodtke is preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie; parents, Herman and Martha Wodtke; and brother, Clarence.
If so desired memorial may be given to the Earl W. Wodtke Memorial Fund.
Gary A. Beyer
Services for Gary A. Beyer, 56, of Buffalo were Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo.
Rev. Becky Sogge officiated at the funeral service.
Mr. Beyer died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. He was born March 31, 1948 to Arling R. and Jeanne E. (Rittenour) Beyer in Breckenridge, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arling.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Chelsea and Brittany; mother, Jeanne Beyer; siblings, Debbie and Dick Utsch and Jeff and Randi Beyer; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dale and Bunnie Pool, Patricia and Thomas Flak, Harlan and Holly Pool, Lois and Duane DeMarais, Ruby and Don Capko, Barb and Jener Keck.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Kenneth L. Bina
Services for Kenneth L. Bina, 63, of Corcoran were Thursday, 6, 2005, at Living Word Christian in Brooklyn Park.
Interment at Maple Knoll Cemetery in Maple Grove.
Mr. Bina died Jan. 1, 2005, in Minneapolis. He was born Jan. 30, 1941, in Mayville, N.D.
He was preceded in death by parents, Emil P. and Christine (Hejlik) Bina.
He is survived by wife, Marilyn; sons, David (Jean) Bina of Grand Rapids, Mich., Stevan (Tonya) Murray of Port Falls, Idaho, and Mark Murray of Maple Grove; daughter, Kimberly (Joe) Ludowese of Steward, Minn.; eight grandchildren; brothers, Leonard (Dorothy) of Grand Forks and Ronald (JoAnn) of Dent, Minn.

Carol L. Erickson
Services for Carol L. Erickson, 53, of Maple Grove were Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at the Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home in New Hope.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Mrs. Erickson passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2005.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; mother, Joyce; son, Bradley; daughter, Holly; brothers, James and Ronald; three grandchildren; two nieces; and other family and friends.
Mrs. Erickson is preceded in death by her father, Marvin.
Memorials are preferred to the National Kidney Foundation.
