Carol A. Sexton

Services for Carol A. Sexton, 58, of Maple Grove were Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at the Church of Mary, Queen of Peace in Rogers.

Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Waverly.

She died peacefully Friday, May 20, 2005.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Jeff) Busch; brothers, Bruce (Margie), Denny (Mona), Brian (Darla) and Ron (Julie); nieces and nephews, Jesse (Larra), Nicholas, Alison, Shawn and Sydney.

Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bernadette; and sister, Diane.

She was loved by many and will be missed by all. We would like to express our many thanks and gratitude to the Buskey family, Cherished Moments and the Heartland Hospice team. All of your love, support and help have been greatly appreciated. Mom, I will miss your heartwarming voice, beautiful smile and your infectious laugh among many other things. I love you with all of my heart and soul. You always have been and will continue to be my angel.

Leonard Miller

Services for Leonard J. Miller, 76, of Buffalo, formerly of the Loretto area, were Friday, May 6, 2005, at the Peterson Chapel, Buffalo.

Interment was at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Loretto. Rev. Brian J. Fier officiated at the funeral service.

Marlene Mohwinkel was the organist. Casket bearers were Ralph Miller Jr., Kevin Miller, Martin Miller, Larry Miller, Richard Miller and Al Weege.

Mr. Miller died May 3 at the Wabasso Healthcare Center, Wabasso, Minn. He was born Jan. 26, 1929, at Hamel, son of Lawrence and Marie Wiesmann Miller.

He worked for many years at Plywood Minnesota. After his retirement he moved to Buffalo and started a can collection route and became known as the "Can Man."

He is survived by daughters, Laurie Miller of Bird Island and Linda (Paul) Schmeising of Sauk Centre; grandchildren, Nicole, Christopher and Timothy Schmeising; brothers, Ralph (Sharon) Miller of Hamel and Joseph Miller of Otsego; sisters-in-law, Annella Miller of Little Falls, Marion Miller of Little Falls, Yvonne Miller of Loretto and Deloris Miller of Buffalo; also many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

Rosemary Singley

Services for Rosemary A. Singley, 80, of Watertown were Saturday, May 14, 2005, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Watertown, with Father Frank Wampach officiating.

Interment was in Watertown Public Cemetery.

Mrs. Singley died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Elim Home in Watertown. She was born April 28, 1925 at Delano the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Yaney nee Mary Motzko.

On June 26, 1946 she was united in marriage to Marvin F. Singley at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Delano.

She was preceded in death by husband, Marvin; parents, Thomas and Mary Yaney; sister, Eleanor Harrison; brothers, Leonard and Art Yaney.

Rosemary will be remembered as a fine lady, full of poise, grace and dignity, with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved life and people. Many of us remember her as the friendly waitress who served burgers, fries and cherry Cokes at Linda's Café in downtown Watertown in the 1960s. She also cooked for the residents at the Elim Nursing Home. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking, cake decorating, catering, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, daycare and socializing. Her love for people was shown by sharing her many talents and services with them. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Singley is survived by sisters, Beatrice Gnitka of Maple Plain, Gladys Probst of St. Louis Park and Genevieve Buehl of Buffalo; brother-in-law, Bud Harrison of Minneapolis.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Donald W. Chapman

Services for Donald W. Chapman "DWC," 81, of Champlin were Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at the Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel.

Interment was in the Champlin Cemetery.

He was a carpenter/contractor and the founder of Hayden Hills Golf Course.

Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by loving parents, George and Lydia; wife, Delores; and brothers, Robert, Wilbur and Clifford.

He is survived by wife, Audrey (Halverson); daughters, Judi Chapman and Cathy Kessler; grandchildren, John Kessler and Christie and Tommy McFarlane; great grandchildren, Dylan Saunders and Emma Jones; brother, Jim (Peggy); sisters, Marion (Charlie) Ehlen and Betty (Jack) Menkveld; sons-in-law, Ron Strawser and Mike Kessler; many other relatives and friends.

"Donnie was a special man who will be loved and deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his family."

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Eugene McAlpine

Services for Eugene "Gene" McAlpine of McAlpines' Well Drilling of Dayton, Inc. and a Korean War Veteran were Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dayton.

Interment at the St. John's Parish Cemetery.

He was born July 9, 1929, and went to his new life Sunday, May 8, 2005, in Brownsville, Texas.

Mr. McAlpine was preceded in death by parents; three brothers and a sister.

He is survived by wife, Joyce; daughter, Jayne (Brad) Rizner; grandson, Blake; and granddaughter, Kyle.

He is also survived by brothers, Clarence (Eunice) and Clifford (Betty); sisters, Marion (Al) Corrow and Arlene Godfrey; brothers-in-law, Patrick (Mary Anne) McNeil, John (Mary) McNeil, Arnold LeVasseur and John Hartkopf; and sister-in-law, Vivian Greeninger.

Joel Christoffersen

Services for Joel S. Christoffersen, 45, of Otsego were Saturday, May 21, 2005, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Corcoran.

Mr. Christofferson died peacefully May 15, 2005, in the loving arms of his wife after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; parents, Bill and Lee; sister, Kim Mason; and by a brother, Brian (Cheryl).

He touched the hearts of everyone with his kind ways and good-natured humor. He made the world a better place.

Gerald Larson

Services for Gerald E. Larson, 77, of St. Michael, were Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Life in Christ Lutheran Church of Albertville.

Rev. Michael A. Trask officiated. Interment was at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Larson died Sunday, May 8, at the Annandale Care Center.

He was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Minneapolis, son of Robert and Erna (Carlson) Larson.

Heraduated from North High in Minneapolis in 1945.

Mr. Larson then served in the U.S. Army.

He was united in marriage to Norma J. Boe Aug. 29, 1953, at the Pelican Lake Lutheran Church, Ashby.

He enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, artwork and woodworking.

Mr. Larson is survived by his wife, Norma; sister, Dorothy (Robert) Riglin of Denver, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Carlyle) Larsen of Madison and Carolyn Boe of Peoria, Ariz.; aunt, Ellen Larson of Robbinsdale; also nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Harold.

Casketbearers were Gary Zachman, Tom Zachman, Todd Zachman, Larry Carlson, Ron Toenies and Terry Johnson.

Organist was Lorri Hedlund.

Roman May

Services for Roman Roger May, 91, of Loretto were Saturday, May 7, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto.

A visitation was held on Friday afternoon from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. A prayer service was at 6 p.m. Visitation continued on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Interment services were in the St. Jeanne de Chantel Cemetery in Corcoran.

Rev. Brian Fier officiated at the Mass.

Mr. May died peacefully to the loving arms of Jesus Tuesday, May 3, 2005, with his three daughters by his side. He was born March 16, 1914, to Joseph and Stephanie (Westholder) May in Burschville Township.

Mr. May was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Rose, and his second wife of 16 years, Elenora; sons, Donald and Melvin; brothers, Clem and Norbert May; and sister Aurea Sexton.

He is survived by his daughters, Marge and Lyle Marsyla, Rosemary and Art Bauer and Stephanie and Sid Hughes; daughter-in-law, Shirley May; sister, Blanche Waschek; sister-in-law, Adeline May; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; six step-children, Walter Wachman, Arlene and Jim Doboszenski, Millie and Don Arens, Betty and Duane Schliinz and Elaine and Jim Dorn; also many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joel Swenson

Services for Joel Eric Swenson, 36, of Coon Rapids, Minn., were Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Buffalo Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dean W. Brown officiating.

Organist was Kristi Brown and congregational hymns were "How Great Thou Art" and "For All The Saints."

Mr. Swenson died accidentally, Saturday, May 7, in Benton County.

He was born Sept. 17, 1968, in Robbinsdale, son of Roger L. and Grace N. (Luetticke) Swenson.

He is survived by his children, Adam and Alyssa Swenson of Princeton; parents, Roger and Grace Swenson of St. Michael; brother, John Swenson of New Brighton; sisters, Jayne (Eugene) Eberhardt and Julie (Brian) Fox, all of Buffalo; and other relatives and friends.

Robert F. Brown

Services for Robert F. Brown, 55, of Maple Grove were Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.

Interment was at Gethsemane Cemetery.

Mr. Brown passed away Friday, May 13, 2005. He was born Aug. 3, 1949, in Monticello, Iowa. He grew up in Esterville, Iowa and graduated from Mankato State in 1971.

He was previously employed at Honeywell for 21 years and at the time of his death was vice president of human resources at Ecolab in St. Paul.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 33 years, Barb; his precious children, Jill Provoncha (Dennis) of Anoka, and Jeffrey Brown of Scottsdale, Ariz.; his most adored granddaughter, Lauren Marie, Papa's Angel; brother, David (Patti) Brown of Hillsboro, Ore.; foddaughters, Erin and Ali; numerous cousins; best friend, Doug Andersen; and many other friends.

Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Brown.

Memorials are preferred to the Osseo-Maple Grove Athletic Association.
