James Corwin

Services for James "Jim" Louis Corwin, "Grandpa with the Big Truck," 56, of Buffalo were Friday, April 22, 2005, at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo with Rev. John P. Folkerds officiating.

Music was provided by Diane Johnson on the organ. Congregational hymns were "Abide With Me," "How Great Thou Art" and "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic."

Casket bearers were Ken Dehmer, Cal Vallbrecht, Leroy Haarvala, Bill Goeltl, Ragnar Bergendahl and Jerry Corwin.

Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Corwin died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at his home. He was born June 6, 1948, in St. Paul, the son of Bill and Luella (Andert) Corwin.

He grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Hill High School, Class of 1966. He entered the U.S. Army June 17, 1968, and was honorably discharged on June 16, 1970.

Decorations received include the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service stars; Air Medal Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device and the Bronze Star Medal.

Mr. Corwin spent his life in a profession the loved - truck driving. His greatest joys in life were his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as "Grandpa with the Big Truck" and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Karen (Dehmer) Corwin; children, Jonathan (Mary) Corwin; daughter, Laurie Corwin; mother, Luella Kipka; step-sons, Robert Eull and Kevin (Jodi) Eull; granddaughters, Cassandra, Caitlyn, Cora, Jade and Karissa; grandsons, Tristan and Jerrit; sister, LuAnn Kipka; brother, Jeff Kipka and many relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father; and sons, Gerrit and Justin Eull.

Henry L. Burghard

A memorial service for Henry L. Burghard, 58, of Maple Grove was Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Plymouth Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Burghard worked for Arthur Anderson and General Dynamics. He was a current employee of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

He was also a University of Missouri alumni.

He is survived by his wife, Regina; daughter, Elizabeth (Robert) Wilson; brother, Floyd (Karen); nieces, Karolyn and Karmen; sister-in- law, Barbara (Dave) Hagen and family, David, Julie and Sean; and parents-in-law, Paul and Ruby Shatley.

Mr. Burghard is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Wilma.

Patrick D. Horan

Services for Patrick Daniel Horan, 65, of Brooklyn Park were Monday, April 25, 2005, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

Interment was at St. Vincent's Cemetery in Osseo.

Mr. Horan died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, in Robbinsdale. He was born June 19, 1939, in Minneapolis.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joan; children, Kelly (Ed) Gies, Patrick (Michele) Horan, Colleen Horan, Michael Horan and Kathleen (Michael) Simonds; five grandchildren; sister, Margie Sample; brothers, George Horan and Jim Horan; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Darlene R. Boerner

Services for Darlene R. Boerner, 70, of Maple Grove were Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

Interment will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mrs. Boerner died Sunday, April 10, 2005, in Maple Grove. She was born April 25, 1934 in Charles City, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard; children, Steven, SuAnn (Tom) O'Brien, Lori (Matt) Spiess; grandchildren, Kellie (Ben) Neel, Christopher O'Brien, Mandie O'Brien and Carrie O'Brien; great-grandchild, Owen Neel; sisters, Jeanne Harrod and Pat (Dick) Jensen.

If so desired, memorials may be given to the Darlene R. Boerner Memorial Fund.

Albert J. Miller

Services for Albert J. Miller, 84, of Maple Grove were Thursday, April 14, 2005, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

He died Monday, April 11, 2005, in Maple Grove. He was born March 4, 1921, in Milwaukee, Wis.

Mr. Miller was a WWII Naval Officer.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Phyllis; children, Suzanne (Wayne) DeSarbo, James (Angelica) Miller, Margaret (Allan Floyd) Miller, Elizabeth Miller; seven grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

If so desired, memorials may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Benjamin D. Reding

Services for Benjamin David Reding, 12, of Maple Grove were Thursday, April 14, 2005, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

Interment was at the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.

He passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving parents Sunday, April 10, 2005.

In his 12 short years he touched the hearts of many. His spirit will live with us forever.

He is survived by his parents, David and Jodi Reding; sisters, Stephani and Samantha; brother, Nicholas; grandparents, Don and Norma Reding of Algona, Iowa and Charles and Dorothy Vevea of Rogers; numerous relatives and an abundance of friends.

Muriel Schulz

Services for Muriel Schulz, 77 of Osseo were Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Corcoran.

Interment was at St. John's Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Jerald) Kersten; sons, Thomas (Nancy), Paul (Meg) and Michael Schulz; sisters, Caroline Kobow, Elizabeth Loeffler; brother, James (Rose) Oswald; brother-in-law, James McMenemy; sister-in-law, Susan Oswald; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Schulz is preceded in death by her husband, Milan "My;" brother, Myron Oswald; brothers-in-law, Clarence Loeffler and Melvin Kobow; sister-in-law, Verdilla McMenemy; and granddaughter, Anika Schulz.

Donald R. Stephans

Services for Donald R. Stephans, 65, of Maple Grove were Friday, April 15, 2005, at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Corcoran.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park.

Mr. Stephans died Sunday, April 10, 2005, in New Hope. He was born June 23, 1939, in Rushford.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Ryan of Milwaukee, Wis.; daughter, Paige (Chris) Bota of California; brothers, James and Robert; sister-in-law, Mary Kraemer; mother-in-law, Bea Mumford; many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Special thanks to the North Memorial Hospice and the caring St. Therese Nursing Home.

If so desired, memorials may be given to the Donald R. Stephans Memorial Fund.

Earl T. Johnson

A memorial service for Earl T. Johnson, 75, of Watertown is scheduled for Sunday, May 1, 2005, at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown.

A gathering of family and friends will occur from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday in the church. Pastor Robert Ericson will officiate at the service. Military honors will be provided by the Eugene Early American Legion Post 121 of Watertown.

Mr. Johnson died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at the Elim home in Watertown. He was born Dec. 30, 1929, to John V. and Thelia (Akins) Johnson in Watertown Township.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Thelia Johnson; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Vernice and Gordon West, and Elna and Valdenar Xavier and his brother, John Johnson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Evelyn; as well as his daughters, Barbara and Doug Nelson and Joan and Tim Erickson, son, Mark and Barbara Johnson; five grandchildren, Jonas and Esther Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Stephanie and Blake Malia, Eric and Nicole Nelson, and Kara Nelson; three great grandchildren, Austin, Ben and Andrew Nelson; many nieces, nephews and friends; brother, Bob and Harriet Johnson; brother-in-law, Marvin and Carole Lueck and sisters-in-law, Russ and Karen Bloomdahl and Lois Lynch.

Terry E. Lingen

Services for Terry E. Lingen, 58, of Hamel were Friday, April 15, 2005, at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus in Medina.

Mr. Lingen is survived by his wife, Sylvia; son, Terry Lee Lingen; daughter, Tammy (Kyle) Wicklund; grandchildren, James, Nathan, Tyler and Jaden Rose; sisters and brothers, Peggy Splett, Vaughn (Bess), Raymond (Karen), Dick (Stella), Avis (Tony) Laurent and Roger (Lina) and sisters- in-law, Karen and Gladys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Rose; sisters, Eileen and Kathryn; brothers, John, David and Philip and brother-in-law, John Splett.

Mr. Lingen was a member of the Hamel American Legion.

Marie Groinus

Services for Marie Groinus, 89, of Greenfield were Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the Church of St. Raphael, Crystal.

Interment was in Glen Haven Cemetery.

Mrs. Groinus was preceded in death by husband, Arthur and daughter, Janet Cheney.

She is survived by sons, Arthur and Gary (Carrie); daughter, Carol Rodriguez (John); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Norma Kocon; brother, James Tracy; other relatives and friends.

William Fehn

Services for William Robert Fehn, infant son of Troy and Kelli Fehn of Maple Lake, were Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at 1 p.m.

Rev. James Disney officiated and interment followed at the Cokato Finnish Cemetery.

Reader for the funeral service was Judy Fehn. Marlene Mohwinkel was the organist for the funeral service and Rolf Mohwinkel sang "On Eagles' Wings." Congregational hymns were: "Jesus Loves Me, This I Know" and "I Am Jesus' Little Lamb."

Honorary casket bearers were aunts and uncles, Katie Golby, Scott Peterson, David Fehn, Chris Picha and Laura Novotny.

William died Thursday, March 31, at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

He is survived by his loving parents. In addition, William is survived by great-grandmothers, Inez Oliver of Hanover and Lucille Schulze-Packard of Buffalo; grandparents, Diana (Tom Johnson) Korpela of Buffalo, William (Lois Ehnert) Korpela of Hutchinson, Irene (Terry Soeffker) Fehn of Buffalo and Robert (Cheryl) Fehn of Elk River; aunts and uncles, Katie (Kyle) Golby, Scott (Kris) Peterson, David (Amie) Fehn, Chris Picha and Laura (Mark) Novotny; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Willard and Marian Fehn, John Oliver, Clinton Schulze and William and Martha Korpela Sr.

Donald Haub

Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Haub, 76, of Champlin, was Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at St. Gerard Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

He is survived by his children, Catharine (Cary) Swenson, Terrance (Meron) Haub, Barb (Stephen) Andersen, Jennifer Holter and Sandra Blair; grandchildren, Gretchen, Drew, James, Harris, Thomas and Mikayla; sisters, Evelyn Appenzeller and Marge Olson; and brother, John Haub.

Mr. Haub is preceded in death by his wife, Helen.

Special thanks to all of his friends at North Memorial Hospital. Memorials preferred to North Hospice or the VA Hospital.
