Earl T. Johnson
Earl T. Johnson age 75 of Watertown died on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at the Elim home in Watertown, Minnesota. He was born December 30, 1929 to John V. and Thelia (Akins) Johnson in Watertown Township, Minnesota.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents John and Thelia Johnson, his sisters and brothers-in-law: Vernice and Gordon West, and Elna and Valdenar Xavier, and his brother John Johnson.
Earl is survived by his loving wife Evelyn of 50 years, as well as his daughters: Barbara and Doug Nelson and Joan and Tim Erickson, and a son Mark and Barbara Johnson, 5 grandchildren: Jonas and Esther Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Stephanie and Blake Malia, Eric and Nicole Nelson, and Kara Nelson, 3 great grandchildren: Austin, Ben and Andrew Nelson as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends, brother Bob and Harriet Johnson, brother-in-law Marvin and Carole Lueck, and sisters-in-law Russ and Karen Bloomdahl and Lois Lynch.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, May 1, 2005 at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown. A gathering of family and friends will occur from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday in the church. Pastor Robert Ericson will officiate at the service. Military honors will be provided by the Eugene Early American Legion Post #121 of Watertown.

Johanna Bowman
Services for Johanna Magdalena Bowman, 96, of Franklin Township and Delano were Friday, April 8, 2005, at Mt. Olvie Lutheran Church in Delano.
Interment took place in Mt. Olive East Cemetery.
Mrs. Bowman died at her home in Franklin Township Monday, April 4. She was born Dec. 1, 1908, at the family homestead in Turner County, Marion Junction, S.D. to Carl and Maria (Beyrow) Ahrendt. On her sixth birthday, her family moved to Canistota, S.D. The day after she graduating high school, her family moved to 616 West Main Street in Luverne, Minn.
She met Lawrence M. Bowman at a movie dance in Hardwick, Minn. They were married May 12, 1934. The couple lived with her parents and cared for them until their deaths.
They began farming in March 1943 in Rock County. Their children, Carl, Jennalee, Lawrence D. and Rosalyn, were born while the family lived in Rock County. Deciding to relocate, they bought a farm at Lyndale in rural Maple Plain.
Moving to Delano in 1967, the Bowmans had 10 more years together before Lawrence passed away Nov. 29, 1977.
For many years, Mrs. Bowman had an opportunity to do seasonal work, helping to make wreaths for Butterfields, which was more fun than work for her. She continued living in Delano and enjoyed an active life until April 1999 when, because of health problems, she agreed to make her home with the Bersie family.
Besides her parents and husband, Johanna Bowman was preceded in death by six brothers, six sisters, parents-in-law, five brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, a daughter-in-law, Darlene Bowman and son-in-law, Gordon Bersie.
Mrs. Bowman is survived by her four children, Carl (Dorothy) Bowman of Buffalo, Jennalee Bersie of Delano, Lawrence D. Bowman of Annandale and Rosalyn Jo (Gary) Nelson of Yakima, Wash.; 11 grandchildren, Valerie (Mark) Pederson, Grant (Diane) Bowman, Greg (Sarah) Bersie, Krisann (Steve) Grinnell, Mark (Mindy) Bersie, Stephanie (David) Huttner, David (Cindy) Bowman, Derek (Rhonda) Nelson, Nathan (Chris) Nelson, Nicholas (Layci) Nelson and Jillian Nelson; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Viola Correll of Luverne and Margaret Bowman of Slayton; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Beverly E. Peel
Services for Beverly Elizabeth (Magnuson) Peel, 81, of Maple Grove, formerly of San Diego were Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home in Anoka. Sister Nora Klewicki officiated.
A private family interment was at Epiphany Cemetery in Coon Rapids.
Mrs. Peel died Monday, March 28, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. She was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Minneapolis to Arthur and Hedwig (Maslow) Magnuson.
She married Jack William Peel. Mrs. Peel was a retired school cook and was a 32-year resident of San Diego, Calif.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (David) Tostenson of Andover; three grandsons, two great-granddaughters; brother, Fran Magnuson of Plymouth; sister, Dorothy Smith of Osseo; nieces and nephew.
Mrs. Peel is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; and son, Robert.
Robert L. Sickels
Services for Robert Lee Sickels, 89, of Osseo were Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the Osseo Church of the Nazarene.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Mr. Sickels died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at his residence in Osseo. He was born June 2, 1915, in Evart, Mich.
He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Osseo Nazarene Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; sons, Duke of Nashville, Tenn., Terry (Paula) of Kodak, Tenn., and Richard (Ronda) of Otsego; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; also by nieces and nephews.
If so, desired memorials may be given to the Richard L. Sickels Memorial Fund.
Garnet L. Suppes
Services for Garnet L. Suppes, 73, of Maple Grove, formerly of Hopkins were Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hopkins.
Interment was at Grandview Cemetery.
Mr. Suppes passed away from complications of asbestos exposure.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gladys; children, Janet (David) Fitzgerald, Joan (fiancé, Dennis Brink) Suppes, James (Stephanie); grandchildren, Alyssa, Elise, Blake, Courtney and Grant; and brother, Fred (Ruth).
Memorials preferred are in lieu of flowers to American Lung Association.
William Woollard
Services for William David Woollard, 59, of Rockford were Monday, March 28, 2005, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
Father Paul L. Wolf officiated and Lavon Kielkucki was the organist. Private interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Waverly.
The casket bearers were Michael, Brandon, Jason and Matthew Kutz, John Franzen, George Chobin, and Joe Faue.
Mr. Woollard died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale from complications of diabetes. He was born July 11, 1945, in Wyandotte, Mich., the son of William D. Woollard and Catherine Donnay. He grew up on a farm outside of Howard Lake and attended school there.
On Aug. 16, 1968, he and Kathleen Bukowski were joined in holy marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly. God Blessed their marriage with three children.
He was formerly employed as a process engineer by General Motors.
Mr. Wollard is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kathleen M. Woollard; sons, Bret Woollard of Rockford and Cory Woollard of Lewiston, Mich.; daughter, Dionne "DiDi" (Carey) Fitzgerald of Toledo, Ohio; granddaughters, Caitlin and Shannon; brothers and sisters, Bob (Irene) Kutz and Terry Kutz of Winsted, David (Barb) Kutz of Loretto, Deborah (Joe) Herda of Millington, Tenn., LuAnn (John) Millican of Hitchcock, Texas, Tim (Linda) Kutz of Las Vegas, and Lonna (Sonny) Martinez of Yamika, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Sandy Fiecke of Lester Prairie and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by father, William D. Woollard; a brother, Larry Kutz; mother, Catherine Kutz; stepfather, Elmer Kutz; nephew, Mark Kutz and sister-in-law, Sandra Kutz.
Donald J. Murphy
Services for Donald J. Murphy, 86, of Omaha, Neb. and Scottsdale, Ariz. were Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in Omaha.
Mr. Murphy passed away Feb. 25, 2005, in Arizona.
He grew up in rural Wisconsin. He graduated from St. John's University in 1939.
Within a short time, he began his work life with Northwest Bancorporation that spanned his entire banking career. In his first position in Osseo, he served as a teller and part-time janitor. He progressed to president of Osseo's Farmers State Bank.
Eventually he moved to the corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, where he served as a liaison between member banks and the corporate office.
In 1963, he accepted the position as president of Stockyards National Bank in south Omaha, Neb. He served there for several years, eventually moving to downtown Omaha as president and CEO of US National Bank, a position in which he served until his retirement in 1983.
Mr. Murphy continued to work at Boys Town for 10 years after his retirement, focusing on financial concerns and real estate issues.
He is survived by his daughters, Peggy (David) Van Lear of Brainerd, Colleen (Bob) Tigelman of Akron, Ohio, Susan Murphy of Chicago, Ill., and Beth Murphy of Minneapolis; son-in-law, Timothy Rife; grandson, Michael (Stephanie) Van Lear of Haleiwa, Hawaii; and granddaughters, Katie and Maggie Rife.
Mr. Murphy is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; and youngest daughter, Charlotte.
Lynnette M. Swanson
Services for Lynnette M. Swanson, 65, of Maple Grove were Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Advent Lutheran Church in Maple Grove.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, where she joined her husband.
Mrs. Swanson died Thursday, March 24, 2005, from complications of kidney failure.
She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Arndt; brother, Lairus Arndt; three sons, Douglas, Curtis and Dean; and grandchildren, Gina, Kenny, Phillip, and Jamie.
Mrs. Swanson is preceded in death by her husband, Donald L.; and father, Walter Arndt.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Kidney Foundation.
Curtis L. Young
Services for Curtis L. Young, 83, of Maple Grove were Friday, March 25, 2005, at Crystal Lake Funeral Home in Minneapolis.
Interment was at the Crystal Lake Cemetery.
He is survived by his children, Annette (Bob) Schwend, David (Joann) Young, Barbara Young, Paul (Lydia) Young; grandchildren, Brian (Chris) Goatley, Darin Schwend, Ryan Young, Kyle (Lisa) Young and Austin (Jodie) Young; great-grandson, Tracy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Young is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Delores; and parents, William and Golda.
Helen K. Zimmerman
Services for Helen K. (Fischer) Zimmerman, 98, of Maple Grove were Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.
She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Jim) Lindsay, Janice (Donald) Blaska, Virginia (Gary) Beck, and Carolyn Turkington; sister, Martha Fischer; special friend, Betty Cybyske; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Zimmerman is preceded in death by her husbands, William Fischer and Abe Zimmerman.
Memorials are preferred to North Memorial Hospice.
Isabella A. Fritz
Mass of Christian Burial for Isabella A. Fritz, 90, of Watertown, was Monday, March 14, 2005, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown.
Rev. Frank Wampach officiated at the mass with music provided by the Immaculate Conception Church Choir.
Mrs. Fritz died Friday, March 11, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. She was born Sept. 26, 1914 to Henry and Elizabeth (Buesgens) Eiden in Cologne, Minn. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome B. Fritz; son, Roger; granddaughters, Ann Marie Fritz and Donna Fritz; sister, Clara Wickenhauser; and brothers, Alfred, Edward, Leander and Eugene Eiden.
Mrs. Fritz is survived by her sons, Donald and Karin Fritz, Jerry and Sharon Fritz and James and Angie Fritz; daughters, Marilyn and Mary Wandersee, Rose and Dave Russek, Barbara and Dave Armstong, Judy and Ken Theis, Karen Fritz and Linda and Mike Yantes; 34 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kathy Fritz; sisters, Helen Leuthner, Eleanor Maas and Sally Peters; and sister-in-law Antionette Welter.
