Robert Johnson
Funeral services for Robert V. Johnson, 78, Blaine, formerly of Coon Lake, took place Aug. 7, 2002 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Rev. Keith Pearson officiated.
Johnson died Aug. 4, 2002 at his home. He was born June 5, 1924 in East Bethel to Andrew W. and Glenna B. (Swanson) Johnson, and was a retired tool and die maker at Cornelius Company.
He is survived by his children, Gregory (Holly), Patricia (Bruce) Holzschuh, Douglas, Pamela (David) Bradshaw, William and Ted; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Wallace.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Marguerite Lehn
Funeral services for Marguerite L. (Peggy) Lehn, 92, Anoka, took place Aug. 7, 2002 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Michael Van Sloun officiated.
Lehn died Aug. 2, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Aug. 5, 1910 in Minneapolis.
She is survived by his husband, Elroy; sons, Tim (Marilyn) Lehn and Terry (Karen); grandchildren, Lori (Richard) Cram, Lisa (Darwin) Magnuson, Patrick Lehn, Nathan (Kasey) Lehn, Gina Lehn; great-grandchildren, Alex Cram, Billy Magnuson, Alesha Cram, Andrea Magnuson, and Hannah Lehn; and sister-in-law, Lucille Lehn.
Pallbearers were Lori and Richard Cram, Lisa Magnuson, and Patrick, Nathan and Gina Lehn.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.
Craig Lundsten
Memorial services for Craig R. Lundsten, 40, Anoka and Tallahassee, Fla., took place Aug. 7, 2002 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.
Lundsten died Aug. 28, 2002 in Tallahassee. He was born Aug. 14, 1961 in Minneapolis to Ronald Lundsten and Barbara Adams, and was a sound and light technician.
He is survived by his parents, Ron and Barb; siblings, Guy (Penny), Kurt (Missy), Lynn (Jimmy) Nemchek, Alena; three nephews; and two nieces.
Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.
Gregory Martin
Gregory R. Martin, 70, Anoka, died Aug. 2, 2002 at his home. He was born Aug. 3, 1931 in Staples to Delbert Martin and Lillian Sears and was employed in sales at Westinghouse.
He is survived by his wife, Carole; daughters, Mary (Tom) Dulon, Jennifer (Chris) Moore, Elizabeth (Joseph) Baker; sons, Robert (Jan) Laidly; and grandchildren, Michael, Brian, Brad, Nicholas, Adams, Catherine, Liam, Conor, Chance and Mollie.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Chapel.
Gordon Nymann
Funeral services for Gordon D. Nymann, 80, Mounds View, took place Aug. 5, 2002 at Calvary Baptist Church, Roseville.
Nymann died July 31, 2002. He was a school superintendent in Minnesota school districts for more than 30 years, including St. Francis School District 15. He served in World War II in the U.S. Air Corps and in the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force as a first lieutenant. He was also a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1946-51.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Candy (Ed) Nelson and Pam (Paul) Olson; grandchildren, Carla (Tom) Thomas, Jeff (Crystal) Nelson, Penny (Dave) Johnson, Polly (Matt Merten) and Peter (Kelly) Olson; five great-gran-dsons; and sister, Norma (Gene) Burrell.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell and Marvin Nyman.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by O'Halloran and Murphy Co., St. Paul.
Edna Olson
Funeral services for Edna O. Olson, 91, Anoka, took place Aug. 5, 2002 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Tim Johnson officiated.
Olson died Aug. 1, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Dec. 25, 1910 in Grafton N.D., to Adolph Presteng and Dorthea Bjerke and was retired teacher and bookkeeper.
She is survived by her children, Rich (Connie), Virginia (Jeff) Barnes; grandchildren, Anna (Van) Aragon, Beth and Joe; great-grandson, Jonah; brother, Herbert (Dorothy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verner; and brother, Truman.
Pallbearers were Brian, Joe, and Bill Barnes, Neil Karpe, and Michael and Daniel Presteng.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.
Rodney Struss
Memorial services for Rodney 'Rocky' Struss, 48, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 7, 2002 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Struss died Aug. 3, 2002. He was born June 21, 1954 in Minneapolis and was self-employed in auto body repair.
He is survived by his partner, Cindy Barse; son, Jeff; daughter, Jennifer; mother, Mildred; brothers, Howard, Richard, Donald and Randy; sisters, Patricia and Dolly; and many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Daniel Wahlquist
Funeral services for Daniel R. Wahlquist, 16, Oak Grove, took place Aug. 3, 2002 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated.
Wahlquist died July 30, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 28, 1986 to Robert and Berta Wahlquist, and was a student.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Berta; sister, Sara; and grandparents, Bob and Irene Anderson and Harvey and Pauline Wahlquist.
Interment was at St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Chapel.
Victor Corrow
Funeral services for Victor A. Corrow, 72, Blaine, took place Aug. 9 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Rev. Adrian Piotrowski officiated.
Corrow died Aug. 6, 2002 in Bethel. He was born Feb. 20, 1930 in Minneapolis to Alfred Corrow and Arzalea Guimont, and was a retired mechanic at Earl's Service Center.
He is survived by his daughters, Vickie Corrow and Tammy (John) Corrow; son, Scott (Rozalind); grandchildren, Holly, Shelby, Mykayla and Qynton; and sister, Shirley Baker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; brothers, Lester and Vernon; and sisters, Lilas Wallick and Ethel Ahrens.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Merwin Hegarty
Funeral services for Merwin 'Bud' Hegarty, 80, Anoka, took place July 29 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Michael Van Sloun officiated.
Hegarty died July 24, 2002 at his residence. He was born Sept. 17, 1921 in Lemmon, S.D., to Levern Hegarty and Selma Anderson. He served in World War II as a combat engineer and took part in five invasions in the Pacific theater. He was also a member of the American Legion and a barber for more than 30 years, owning a barber shop in the Coon Rapids Family Center Mall.
He is survived by his wife, Isabelle; children, Thomas, Colleen, Steven and Robert; grandchildren, Mitch, Jason, Lindsey, Chase, Ryan, Taylor, Connor, Whitney and Courtney; brothers, Howard and Jerome; sisters, Nadien and Evelyn; and special friends and caregivers, Rich and Candy Ree.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Ann; parents, Levern and Selma; and brothers, Levern Jr, Cecil and Kenneth.
Pallbearers were Jason, Chase, Taylor, and Ryan Hegarty, Mitchell Nelson and Rich Ree. Cross bearer was Connor Hegarty. Giftbearers were Lindsey Nelson and Whitney and Courtney Hegarty.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka.
Frank Johnston
Memorial services for Frank Allen Johnston, 72, Anoka, took place Aug. 10 at Cremation Society of Minnesota, Brooklyn Park Chapel.
Johnston died Aug. 6, 2002. He was born Oct. 30, 1929 in Ogilvie and was a retired 38-year employee of Federal-Hoffman.
He is survived by his wife, Doretta; children, Susan Lee, Sharon (Wade) Nielsen, Jeff and Lori; grandchildren, Nancy, Rachel, Jim, Jeremy and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Julie, and Josh; and sisters, Grace Egge, Donna Foote (Wilbur), and Della (Vern) Modrow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Danny; brothers, Robert and Herbert; and sister, Clara Borg.
Arrangements were by the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
