Clarence Maciej
Funeral services for Clarence Maciej, 66, Champlin, took place Aug. 9 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Jack Long officiated.
Maciej died Aug. 5, 2002 in Minneapolis. He was born Aug. 8, 1935 in Little Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; brother, Sylvester; and sisters, Florence Pietrowski, Evelyn Morawczynski, Clara (Raymond) Cichon, Dorothy McCormack, Jenny Krystosek, Caroline Krystosek, Harriet Healy and Vernie Feia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Sophie; brother, Ed; and sister, Bridget Oldakowski.
Interment was at Fort Ripley cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
James McLaughlin
Funeral services for James Joseph McLaughlin, 93, took place Aug. 12 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Joseph Kivel officiated.
McLaughlin died Aug. 7, 2002 in Wayzata. He was born May 5, 1909 in Iowa and was retired from the railroad.
He is survived by his son, James J. Jr. (Diane); daughter, Roxanne Mellema (Dale); grandchildren, James J. III, Scott, Kimberly and Kristin; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Eugene Plombon
Funeral services for Eugene Plombon, 71, Coon Rapids, take place today (Friday Aug. 16) at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids. Rev. Patrick Kennedy will officiate.
Plombon died Aug. 11, 2002 at Mercy Hospital, He was born June 14, 1931 in St. Cloud and was a U.S. Army veteran and retired U.S. postal worker.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Michelle, Mark (Sue), Bill (Jody), Christine (Thomas), Carol (Len) Ballosh; sisters and brothers, Joseph, Jerry, Shirley, Beverly, Leon and Mary Jane; many grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Joseph; brothers and sisters, Ronald Carol, Phyllis, David and Quentin.
Interment was at Epiphany cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Lorna Rolette
Funeral services for Lorna Ann Rolette, 70, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 12 at Advent Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Robert Linstrand officiated.
Rolette died Aug. 6, 2002 at her home. She was born Oct. 29, 1931 in Rice Lake, Wis., to Roy Isted and Ethel Isaacson, and was employed in sales.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Shannon) Rolette; daughters, Debra Barberio (Jerry), Cindy Rolette; grandchildren, Nicole Barberio and Jenna Rolette; sister, Beverly (Vern) O'Flanagan and Carol (Robert) Jones; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Chapel.
Stanford Schnapp Jr.
Funeral services for Stanford L. Schnapp Jr., 51, Anoka, took place Aug. 14 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Dale W. Ehrman officiated.
Schnapp died Aug. 10, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 9, 1951 in Braham to Stanford L. Sr. and Virginia I. (Tiffany) Schnapp. He was a bindery stitcher operator.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Bern (Tim) Dahlstrom, Laurie (Brent) Busche, Corey Smith, David (Kris) Brown; grandchildren, Tia, Elyse, Keith, Dru, Kennedy and Jimmy; father, Stanford Sr. (Ruth) Schnapp; one brother; and three sisters.
Pallbearers were Brent Busche, Tim Dahlstrom, Ryan Merrill, Scott Heureng, Cliff Krause, Junior Strande and John Katke.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Lester Schwartz
Funeral services for Lester H. Schwartz, 74, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 14 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fridley. Rev. David Glesne officiated.
Schwartz died Aug. 11, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 17, 1928 in Blackwell, Wis., to Edward C. Schwartz and Emma W. Depner, and was retired director of accounting and central services with Anoka County.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; sister, Rosella Knudson; brother, Eugene Schwartz; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary; brother, Raymond; and sister, Helen Ann Zinnicola.
Pallbearers were Tim Knudson, Ron Schwartz, Chellis Matz, Dan Luby, and Eldon Potthoff. Honorary pallbearers were Brian Depner and Ray Zinnicola.
Interment was at Orono cemetery, Elk River. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Paul Ward
Funeral services for Paul W. Ward, 44, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 15 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Rev. Dale Ehrman officiated.
Ward died Aug. 10, 2002 at his home. He was born Jan. 15, 1958 in Anoka to William L. Ward and Mary E. Faherty and was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways.
He is survived by his wife, Patti; sister-in-law, Janet Brey; sisters, Anne (Eldon) Miller, Mary (Jon Ekerholm) Ward, Shannon (Jeff) Ward-Swartz; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Mary F. Ward.
Pallbearers were Steve Ward, Steve Dehen, Randy Wesp, Larry Kalla, Brian Hildre, Todd Miller and Kevin Graving. Honorary pallbearer was Mitch Arsvold.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Rebecca Backen
Memorial services for Rebecca Crystal Backen, 40, Lexington, took place Aug. 16 at the Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Father Joel Cycenas officiated.
Backen died Aug. 12, 2002. She was born Oct. 5, 1961 in Milwaukee and was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband Bill; brother Bruce and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Kathleen Olson and father Frank Gatzow.
Internment was at the Epiphany cemetery, Coon Rapids.
Jerome Beck
Memorial services for Jerome R. Beck, 39, Andover, took place Aug. 19 at the Gearhart Funeral Chapel in Coon Rapids. Rev. Dave Burneau officiated.
Beck died Aug. 16, 2002 in Coon Rapids. He was born March 21, 1963 in Minneapolis to Joseph and Elizabeth Beck. He was married
to Roxann Walstad and worked as an assembler/operator.
Beck is survived by his wife Roxann; children Joshua and Amanda; mother Betty Beck; brothers Jimmy, John (Kathy), Jeff and sisters Judy (Doug) Greiner, Jenny Beck; mother- and father-in-law Willis and Jean Walstad; brothers-in-law David (Lynn) Walstad, Rob (Deb) Walstad; sisters-in-law Debbie (Loren) Phyle, Lynda (Rex) Swaine, Annie LePage; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Bob Beck.
Internment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made by Gearhart Funeral Chapel of Coon Rapids.
Margaret Behnke
Memorial services for Margaret L. Behnke, 92, Anoka, took place Aug. 20 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church of Anoka. Father Bill Deziel, O.S.C., officiated.
Behnke died Aug. 17, 2002 at Guardian Angels Care Center of Elk River. She was born May 25, 1910 to James and Marguerite (Donnelly) Jones and married
Otto J. Behnke. She was retired nurse from Anoka State Hospital and a member of St. Stephen's parish.
Behnke is survived by children Jacquelyn (James) Lalla, Gerald (Meredith) Behnke, Peggy (Robert) Beck, Tom (Bonnie Morehouse) Behnke; daughter-in-law Darlene Behnke; sister Mary (Bernard) Voss; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Otto and son Richard. Bernard Voss, Daniel Voss, David Voss, James Asfaly, Edward Kalk and Todd Kalk served as pallbearers.
Internment was at Forest Hill cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Virginia Daniels
Memorial services for Virginia Daniels, 91, Coon Rapids, took place Aug. 16 at the Church of St. William in Fridley. Father Joseph Whalen officiated.
Daniels died Aug. 12, 2002 in Coon Rapids. She was born June 10, 1911 and married
Gervase 'Gerf' Daniels. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by sons Jerome, Douglas (Iona), Rich (Sharon), Bryan (Rita); daughters Shirley (Paul) Rosengren, Diane (Jim) LaMere, Pat (Mike) Erickson; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and sisters Kathryn and Marie.
Daniels was preceded in death by her husband Gerf and granddaughter Jennifer. Internment was at Gethsemane cemetery.
