Elizabeth Kemske

Elizabeth Ann Kemske, 82, Hillsboro, Ore., formerly of Anoka, died Aug. 10, 2002.

She was born in St. Paul, Oct. 23, 1919 and was member and office holder of many civic organizations in Anoka, including the PTA, community school advisory board, Red Cross, League of Women Voters, Anoka Mayor's Youth Commission, Anoka Charter Commission, Anoka Library Board (and started Friends of the Library, ) advisory commission on Transit for the MTC, and an election judge.

She is survived by her children, MaryEllen Hagewood of Hillsboro, Ore., Claudia Jagelski of Hill City, and Jonathon Kemske of Brooklyn Park; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard.

Frank Malenowski Sr.

Funeral services for Frank Malenowski Sr., 77, formerly of Blaine, took place Aug. 26 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Blaine Chapel.

Malenowski died Aug. 19, 2002 at Fairview Riverside Hospital. He was born Oct. 10, 1924 in St. Anthony. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired maintenance employee for a grain elevator.

He is survived by his son, Frank Jr.; stepchildren, Chloe (Jan) Pries, Richard Klink, Virgil Klink, and granddaughter, Angela.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Blaine Chapel.

Eric McDonald

Funeral services for Eric S. McDonald, 30, Anoka, took place Aug. 24 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Douglas Swarthout officiated.

McDonald died Aug. 21, 2002 at Redwood Falls Municipal Hospital from injuries received in a car accident. He was born Oct. 10, 1971 in Minneapolis and was a dispatcher with Health East and a member of the Army Reserves.

He is survived by his mother, Linda McDonald; children, Samantha, Kaylea and Hunter; grandparents, Arvie and Betty Gaarder; uncles, Bruce, Neil and Danny Gaarder; cousins, Nancy Altringer and Mark Gaarder; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arvid Gaarder.

Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Esther Nelson

Funeral services for Esther M. Nelson, 89, Mounds View, took place Aug. 27 at Spring Lake Park Baptist Church. Rev. Bruce Nelson officiated.

Nelson died Aug. 24, 2002 in St. Paul. She was born Oct. 30, 1912 in Harvey, N.D.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Warren) Nelson; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and son, Leonard.

Pallbearers were Milt, Wayne, Paul and John Nelson, Bud Erickson, and Russ Hasselbring.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens, St. Anthony. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Marian Oland

Memorial services for Marian Della Oland, 79, Bethel, took place Aug. 24 at the Strike Funeral Home-Isanti Chapel. Rev. James Snow officiated.

Oland died Aug. 20, 2002 at Presbyterian Home of Roseville. She was born March 7, 1923 in Cogswell, N.D., to Fred and Della Dyke. She was retired from Honeywell and the University of Minnesota Hospital.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim and husband Mike Crockett of Bethel; sister, Una Mae Sawrey of Apple Valley, Calif.; grandchildren, Patrick, Michael and Megan Cloutier; great-grandsons, Patrick Jr.; and other relatives and friends.

Arrangements were by Strike Funeral Home-Isanti Chapel.

Warren Sims

Funeral services for Warren A. Sims, 80, Anoka, took place Aug. 23 at Anoka United Methodist Church. Rev. Brenda King Kramer officiated.

Sims died Aug. 20, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. He was born April 6, 1922 in Anoka to William and Florence (Porter) Sims. He was a retired cooler operator for Clover Leaf Creamery Co., and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews; best friend, Elaine Olson; and sister-in-law, Marie Sims.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carlette; parents, William and Florence; brothers, Wesley; and nephew, David Sims.

Pallbearers were Keith McFerran, Wayne Swing, Ralph Anderson, Don and Jason Eveland and Tim Gurr.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Joshua Zakrzewski

Funeral services for Joshua Paul Zakrzewski, 28, Anoka, took place Aug. 23 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Adrian Piotrowski officiated.

Zakrzewski died Aug. 19, 2002 in Anoka. He was born Oct. 22, 1973 in Coon Rapids to Ronald and Marge Zakrzewski and was an electrician.

He is survived by his parents, Ronald and Marge; brothers, Jason and Travis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers were Ben Koenig, Ryan Givens, Andrew Youngquist, Mark Tilseth, Jesse Kirkendall, and Victor Swanson.

Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.

Louise Christensen

Funeral services for Louise O. Christensen, 77, Elk River, took place July 3 at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Andover.

Christensen died June 30, 2002 at Guardian Angels Care Center, Elk River. She was born Nov. 4, 1924 in Rockford, Ill., to Bruce V. and Violet J. (Bickford) Grant. She was a retired state hospital nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; sons, Garry (Faye) Christensen, Terry (Faith) Christensen; daughter, Sandra Corrow; eight grandchildren; eight great-gran-dchildren; sisters, Maxine Obraski, Elaine Lindell, Carol Lamb; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Violet Grant; and brothers, Robert, Glenn and Harold Grant.

Pallbearers were Robert, Raymond, Tim, Garry Jr. and Nathan Christensen and Jason Corrow.

Interment was at West Oak Grove cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

George Eaton

Funeral services for George D. Eaton, 66, Brooklyn Park, took place July 1 at Champlin United Methodist Church. Rev. Debra J. Wells officiated.

Eaton died June 26, 2002 at his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1935 in Dresser, Wis., to Archie Eaton and Irene M. Williams. He was a parole/probation officer for the state of Minnesota and Hennepin County for 33 years.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; sons, Jonathan and Joel; brothers, Richard (Linda); sisters, June (Glen) Hampton, Joan (Charles) Englert, Joyce (Edward) Wilson, Judith Eaton; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Eaton.

Pallbearers were Chris and Pat Hampton, Jamie Eaton, and Kyle, Christian and Seth Wilson.

Interment was at Champlin cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Robert Fourniea

Funeral services for Robert Fourniea, 76, Coon Rapids, took place July 1 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.

Fourniea died June 25, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Dec. 4, 1925 and was a World War II veteran and a lifetime member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughters, Kathie (Marv) Person and Cheryl (Steve) Amborn; grandchildren, Casey, Andrea, Jereme and Dan; great-granddaughter, Hailey; two brothers; and one sister.

Pallbearers were Chuck Fourniea, Casey and Marv Person; and Jereme, Steven and Daniel Amborn.

Interment was at Epiphany cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Ernest Isenor Jr.

Funeral services for Ernest H. Isenor Jr., 82, Coon Rapids, took place July 3 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids.

Isenor died June 28, 2002 in Coon Rapids. He was born March 14, 1920 in Cooperstown, N.Y., to Ernest H. Isenor Sr. and Elizabeth Moody. He was a retired engineer.

He is survived by his children, Jim, Bruce, Eric, Karen Inderlee, Rock (Teresa) and Bob (Heather); 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Rosa Gorney.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; and sister, Jeannie.

Interment was at Epiphany cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
