David Tillery
Funeral services for David John William Tillery, 23, Andover, took place July 19 at Grace Lutheran Church, Andover. Rev. Mark Skinner officiated.
Tillery died July 16, 2002 in Minneapolis. He was born Aug. 10, 1978 to Johnnie and Kathy Tillery (Kathy Gebert). He was a mechanical-electrical draftsman.
He is survived by his parents, Johnnie and Kathy; uncle (godfather) and aunt, John and Rita Gebert; aunt, (godmother) Linda Smilanich; aunt (godmother) and uncle, Kari and Scott Mahowald; second mother and husband, Sue and Tim Melody; aunts and uncles, Carole Tillery, Harold and Fran Tillery, Donnie and Ann Tillery, Jack and Neely Tillery; and many family, extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Ardyce Gebert and Johnnie and Sarah Tillery.
Pallbearers were Nancy Burris, Karen Hawkinson, Amanda and Eric Mahowald, and Michael and Steven Smilanich.
Interment was at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, Crystal. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.
Harold Trusty
Funeral services for Harold I. Trusty, 74, Garfield, took place July 22, 2002 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. David Hibieson officiated.
Trusty died in Minneapolis on Friday, July 19, 2002. He was born Dec. 15, 1927 in New Hartford, Iowa, to Darl and Cora Trusty, and was a retired manager.
He is survived by his wife, Norine; sons, Bill, Bruce, Brian, Clifford; stepsons, James, John and Joe Wolters; 23 grandchildren; sisters, Beverly and Darlene; brother, Jerry; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Bernardine Tyler
Funeral services for Bernardine Kernan Tyler, 93, Edina, formerly of Anoka, took place July 15 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Bill Deziel officiated.
Tyler died July 11, 2002 at the Edina Care Center, She was born Jan. 26, 1909 in Wexford, Iowa, to Thomas and Caroline (Smith) Kernan.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Dick) Sorteberg, Dolores (Bob) Peters; son, George (Judy) Tyler; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alfred Williams Tyler and Gordon Elg.
Pallbearer was George Tyler.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Andrew Wilson
Funeral services for Andrew K. Wilson, 50, Ramsey, took place July 15 at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, Mounds View. Rev. Elisa Richardson officiated.
Wilson died July 9, 2002 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital. He was born June 3, 1952 in Minneapolis to Conrad and Doris Wilson. He was retired from Medtronic in electric assembly.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; grandchildren, Lacy, Lindsey, Cole and Talon; mother, Doris Wilson; mother- and father-in-law, Ida and Walter Gleb; sister, Janet Ficken and Judy Welty; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert; father, Conrad; niece, Nicole Helmin; and brother, Willis.
Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
John Boyle
Funeral services for John E. 'Jeff' Boyle, 74, Blaine, took place June 3 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Blaine. Rev. George Kolath officiated.
Boyle died May 29, 2002. He was born March 15, 1928 in Pittston, Pa., and was a pressman in the printing industry.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; children, John, Mary, Joe, Jim and his wife Rachel; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Joshua; brothers, Joseph, William and James; sisters, Theresa, Mary, Catherine, Rosie and Bette; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emma Boyle; and daughter-in-law, Jody.
Interment was at Lakeview cemetery, Mahtomedi. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
William Cooper
Graveside memorial services for William J. Cooper will take place June 8, 10:30 a.m., at Oakwood cemetery, Mora.
Cooper died Jan. 9, 2002 in Sun City, Ariz.
Mildred Edgarton
Funeral services for Mildred H. Edgarton, 86, Champlin, took place May 30 at Thurston-Lindberg Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Charles Phelps officiated.
Edgarton died at Cambridge Hospital May 24, 2002. She was born Jan. 22, 1916 in Champlin to Albert and Ann (Reinke) Blesi, and was a retired home health aide.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Roland) Foster of Princeton; son, Neil (Pat) Edgarton of Andover; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gayle, Alvin and Stanley; sisters, Margaret, Mae, Gracie, and Edna; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and sister, Eleanor.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Earl Freyholtz
Memorial services for Earl Gehrhardt Freyholtz, 76, rural Lengby, formerly of Anoka, took place May 29 at Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, Fosston. Rev. Scott Bailey officiated.
Freyholtz died May 23, 2002 at his home. He was born June 18, 1925 in Fairfax to Otto and Amanda (Eggers) Freyholtz. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked for Hoffman Engineering in Anoka until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; son, Terry and wife Michelle of Ham Lake; daughter, LaVonne and husband Bill Holmes of Andover; stepchildren, Mark and wife Sue Haida and Joan Haida, all of Ramsey and Jane and her husband Peter DelVecho of Valencia, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; brothers, Wilbert of Coon Rapids and Lester of Fargo, N.D; sisters, Ramona Evenson of Arlington, Alpha Evenson of Gibbon, Delois Somladen of Lengby and Mildred Hextall of Lengby; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Roy, Milton and Vernon.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Service, Fosston.
Lillan Johnson
Funeral services for Lillan M. Johnson, 88, take place today (Friday, June 5), 1 p.m., at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Roy Karner will officiate.
Johnson died June 3, 2002 at North Ridge Care Center, New Hope. She was born Oct. 25, 1913 in Strathcona to Ole J. Winjum and Ida C. Knutson.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathleen (Eugene) Olinger, Claudia (Bruce) Bomier; grandchildren, Lori (Craig) Tarallo, Mark Olinger, Christie Olinger, Elizabeth (Joshua) Irish, Michael Bomier; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted.
Pallbearers will be Lori and Craig Tarallo, Mark and Christie Olinger, Elizabeth and Joshua Irish, and Michael Bomier.
Interment will be at Forest Hill cemetery, Duluth. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Fred Kailer
Funeral services for Fred Kailer, 85, Coon Rapids, took place May 31 at Christ Lutheran Church, Blaine. Rev. Margaret Guelker officiated.
Kailer died May 28, 2002. He was born Sept., 20, 1916 in South St. Paul and was an Army veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of the Coon Rapids VFW Post.
He is survived by his wife, June; son, Bill; grandchildren, Jerry and Julie; sister, Eva Freyholtz; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Lee Kappedahl
Funeral services for Lee G. Kappedahl, 48, Anoka, took place May 30 at Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Liane S. Rock officiated.
Kappedahl died May 27, 2002 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, He was born April 9, 1954 in Red Wing to Obert S. Kappedahl and Elaine E. Gesme and was a self-employed truck driver and member of the Sons of the American Legion.
He is survived by his children, Laura and Alison Kappedahl; grandchildren, John Lee, Jesse and Jordan; mother, Elaine Kappedahl; sister, Pam; brother, Todd; nephews, Kevin and Dan; and by Cynthia and Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Obert Kappedahl.
Pallbearers were Keith Gesme, Tim Kurtz, Larry Schalo, Bruce Brage, Dan Ortell and Bob Stageberg.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
