Joseph Egan
Funeral services for Joseph J. Egan, 64, Oak Grove, took place May 29 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated.
Egan died May 26, 2002 at Cambridge Medical Center. He was born March 31, 1938 in Miller, S.D., to Edward Egan and Margaret Weidner, and was a real estate developer.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; sons, Michael, John and James; daughter and son-in-law, Molly and Gary O'Neill; brothers, William (Gloria) and Edward (Carol); sisters, Mary Hackbarth, Elizabeth Irwin, Susan (Tony) Hartfiel, Margaret Wells and Maureen (Wayne) Williams.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.
Michael Fread
Funeral services for Michael Fread, 40, formerly of Blaine and at the time of his death Aldrich, Minn., took placed June 10 at Epiphany Catholic Church with Father Bernard Reiser presiding. Fread, who was born March 23, 1962, died June 4, 2002 as a result of auto accident.
Interment was private.
Fread is survived by his wife Kimberly; children Kari and Derek; parents Martin Donald and Barbara; brothers and sisters Doug (Rozanne) Fread, Colleen (Duane) Fletcher, Suzanne (Jamie) Brown; grandmothers Dorothy Fread and Margaret Dyer, in-laws Ronald and Elizabeth Erickson; brother-in-law Rick (Cathryn) Erickson, nieces, nephews and many loving family and friends.
Antoinette Groth
Funeral services for Antoinette Groth, 42, Spring Lake Park, took place June 10 at the Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel. Pastor Bill Steinke officiated. The homemaker was born Feb. 24, 1960 and died June 6, 2002.
She is survived by children Mike, Adam and Jennifer; parents Clifford and Delores Jones; sister Sally (Mike) Frank, brothers Richard (Kelli) Jones, Clifford Jones; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents and her brother Arnie.
Todd Hunt
Funeral services for Todd A. Hunt, 40, Minneapolis, took place May 21 at Assembly of God, St. Paul. Rev. Ed Tedeschi officiated.
Hunt died May 18, 2002. He was born June 5, 1961 to James G. Hunt and Nedine Christoffer, and was an insurance claims adjustor.
He is survived by his wife, Kristina; son, Justin; daughter, Nicole; grandson, thomas; parents, Jim and Nedine Hunt; and brothers, Mark Hunt, Jack Weizel, Barry Eastman and Craig Knoop.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.
Julie Judge
Funeral services for Julie Judge, 54, Coon Rapids, took place June 6 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Judge died June 1, 2002. She was born July 26, 1947 in Minneapolis and was a medical lab supervisor at Fairview University Hospital for 31 years.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; children, Andrea and Jason; grandsons, Dylan Judge-Steuek and Austin Judge; and brothers, Douglas (Monica) Medelberg and Joseph (Diane) Medelberg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustaf and Louise Medelberg; and sister, Renee Grzeskowiak.
Pallbearers were James Zirngible, Eric Medelberg, John and Timothy Judge, and Alan and Tracy Grzeskowiak
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Dominic Knoll
Funeral services for Dominic J. Knoll, 75, Blaine, took place June 1 at Gearhart Coon Rapids Chapel. Rev. Jarry Cole officiated.
Knoll died May 29, 2002 at his home. He was born March 26, 1927 to Joseph Knoll and Helen Cabanowski, and was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Thomas; daughters, Sheryl (Tom), Kristine (Steven), Laura (Robert); grandchildren, Seth, Stephanie, Tanya and Sam; brothers, Stanley (Delores), Edward (Sophia); and sisters, Florence (Chester), Frances (Loren) and Mary Jane.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel.
Chester Mead
Funeral services for Chester A. 'Chet' Mead, 80, Anoka, took place June 13 at the Thurston-Lindberg Chapel. Pastor Brenda L. King officiated. Mead was born to Clifford and Ella (Emery) Mead Dec. 11, 1921 in Champlin. He died June 9, 2002 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
Mead, a mason and plasterer for Plasterers Local #65, is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Doris; daughters Joanne (David) Anderson of Lino Lakes and Janis Katnis of Anoka; six grandchildren Timothy (Stacy) Anderson, Lisa Anderson, Deyette (Matt) Helminski, John (Karen) Katnis, Annette (Jeffrey) Schmitt, Heather (Eric) Stjern; eight great-grandchildren Bryan and Justin Helminski, Krystle and Ian Katnis, Jeffrey and Cody Schmitt, Travis and Adam Stjern; brothers Carl (Renee) Mead of Rogers and Raymond (Nancy) Mead of Champlin; sister-in-law Pearl Mead of Hermanton; other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers were Carl Mead, David Anderson, Timothy Anderson, John David Katnis, Gordon Maag and Donald Chapman.
Internment was at the Champlin cemetery with arrangements by Thurston-Lindberg of Anoka.
Robert Olson
Funeral services for Robert M. Olson, 71, Anoka, took place June 5 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bill Steinke officiated.
Olson died June 1, 2002. He was born Nov. 18, 1930 in Minneapolis.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; son, Charles Olson (Brenda); granddaughter, Vanessa; sisters, Betty English and Norma Jean Cornell; and brother, Gary Olson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Eldo Oppedahl
Funeral services for Eldo H. Oppedahl, 76, Coon Rapids, took place June 5 at Peace Lutheran Church. Rev. Heather Tuene officiated.
Oppedahl died June 3, 2002 in Fridley. He was born March 13, 1926 in Kiester to Gilman and Alma Oppedahl and was a retired printer.
He is survived by his wife, Gilma; daughters Diane (Terry) Hendrikson and Jane (Greg) Shamp; son, Michael; grandchildren, Jeff (Joni) Henrikson, Jodi (Brian) Riisager, Jeana Henrikson, Amanda Shamp, Kelsey Shamp; and great-grandchildren, Marisa and Jeffrey Jr. Henrikson and Dylan Opp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilman and Alma Oppedahl; and brother, Orville.
Pallbearers were Paul Voigt, Brad Oppedahl, Craig Ellingson, Dan Reisetter, Jerry Nelson and Jeff Wacholz.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel.
Fern Parshall
Memorial services for Fern (Batchelder) Parshall, 92, St. Cloud, Fla., formerly of Anoka, took place May 20 at Chapel of Grissom Funeral Home, Kissimmee, Fla. Rev. Joe Webb officiated.
There will be an interment service June 15, 10:30 a.m., at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka.
Parshall died May 17, 2002. She was born in Eden Valley, and worked in sales at Dedrick's in Anoka before retiring.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne-Michal Stoesz of St. Cloud, Fla; and two grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Grisson Funeral Home and Crematory, Kissimmee.
Georgia Stone
Funeral services for Georgia V. Stone, 80, formerly of Blaine and at the time of her death, Ham Lake, took place June 10 at Glen Cary Lutheran Church, Ham Lake. Revs. tom Moen and Jeff Jacobus officiated. Stone was born July 26, 1921 to Edward and Mabel (Swanson) Hawkinson in Chisago County and died at Mercy Medical Center June 5, 2002.
The retired (after more than 20 years) Donaldson's Department store worker, was married
to Harold Henry Stone. She is survived by children Kathleen (Clifford) Gillund of Olgilvie, Diane (Nick) Grote of Braham, Michael (Susan) Stone of Coon Rapids, Patricia (Charles) Stone of Andover; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; brother Adrian (Martha) Hawkinson of Colorado; sister-in-law Doris Hawkinson of Indiana; nieces, nephews, one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold and grandson Roger Gillund. Pallbearers were grandchildren Daniel, David and Rodney Gillund, Michele VanHover, Christopher Grote, Nicole Johnson, Cody, Jacob, Andrew, Jennifer, Shawntil Eure, Jonathan and James Stone.
Internment was at Glen Cary Lutheran cemetery, Ham Lake. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg of Anoka.
Madison Thurner
Parker Thurner
Funeral services for Madison, 4, and Parker, 19 months, Thurner of Ham Lake, took place June 8 at Christ Lutheran Church in Blaine. Pastor Margie Guelker officiated.
Madison and Parker died June 4, 2002 when they were trapped in the van in which they rode caught fire in Blaine.
The two are survived by parents Frank and Debbie; grandparents Arnie and Arlene Nelson and Frank and Becky Thurner; great-grandparents George and Pearle Ausmus; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens.
