Doris McCarthy
Funeral services for Doris Jeanne McCarthy, 76, Blaine, took place Nov. 13 at Methven-Taylor Blaine Chapel.
McCarthy died Nov. 9, 2002 at her residence. She was born Jan. 30, 1926 to Ulysses Keller and Marge Casper.
She is survived by her children, Craig (Joanne) Anderson, Candice (James) Nelson, Cynthia Wallace, Melissa (Jay) Nelson; 11 grandchildren; brothers, James and Keith Keller; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cameron Anderson and Donald McCarthy.
Interment was private at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Blaine Chapel.
Agnes Melin
Funeral services for Agnes Melin, 100, Coon Rapids, formerly of Ogema, took place Oct. 30 at Lund Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. Rev. John Lee officiated.
Melin died Oct. 26, 2002 at Park River Estates Care Center, Coon Rapids. She was born Sept. 3, 1902 in Motala, Sweden, to August and Selma Karlsson. She came to the United States with her parents in 1919.
She is survived by her son, Edwin (Marvel) Melin and their children Jeff (Peggi) of Coon Rapids, Ron (Shari) of Anoka, Don (Leah) of East Bethel, and Dennis (Dan) Jaakola of Spring Lake Park; three stepsons; two stepdaughters; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents; five brothers; two sisters; and a grandson.
Pallbearers were Jeffrey, Ronald, Donald, Rodney, Bruce and Danial Melin.
Interment was at Lund Lutheran Church cemetery. Arrangements were by West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes.
Kelly Olson
Funeral services for Kelly J. Olson, 35, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 14 at Coon Rapids United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Miller officiated.
Olson died Nov. 9, 2002 in Hubbard County from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born Feb. 7, 1967 in Robbinsdale to Ronald L. and Carla M. (Coons) Olson.
He is survived by his wife, Trudee; children, Logan, 8, and Calen, 5; parents, Ron and Carla Olson of Coon Rapids; brother, Eric and his wife Tanya and their children, Kyle, 2, and Hannah, 1; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Colleen and Conrad Barsness of Ramsey; best friend, Greg Orvis and his family; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Joyce Coons, Porter and Alvetta Olson; and Trudee's son, Brandon.
Pallbearers were Todd and Troy Staples, Troy Englund, Greg Orvis, Dennis Coons and Kevin Gangl.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Rita Ramstorf
Funeral services for Rita Faye Ramstorf, 48, Brooklyn Park, took place Nov. 8 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel. Rev. Jerry O'Neill officiated.
Ramstorf died Nov. 3, 2002 at Unity Hospital. She was born Jan. 13, 1954 in Ironton, Ohio, to John Stamper and Willana Wright. She was employed as a quality inspector.
She is survived by her boyfriend, Tyler; children, Michael (Ute), Chad (Raechel), and Dori; parents, John and Willana; sisters, Nadine, Annie, Rhonda, Jhonda, Vonda; brother-in-law, Jerry Borg; and nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; sister, Teresa; brother, John Allen; and granddaughter, Joscelyn.
Pallbearers were Chad and Mike Ramstorf, Tyler Berg, Jerry Borg, Jim Reynolds and Dan Blue.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home.
Cari Rock
Funeral services for Cari H. Rock, 44, Elk River, took place Nov. 11 at Christ Lutheran Church, Otsego. Dr. Greg Pagh officiated.
Rock died Nov. 7, 2002 at her home after an 11-month battle with breast cancer. She was born Feb. 15, 1958 in St. Paul to Vern and Shirley Hall was a self-employed artist.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Lee Rock; children, Emily, Andrew and Jesse; parents, Shirley and Vern Hall; brothers, Terry (Nancy) and Mark (Leslie) Hall; sisters, Lori (Dave) Swanlund, and Sandi (Kevin) Edmunds; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Interment was at Zion Lutheran Church, Hyllengren Chapel. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Blanche Stout
Funeral services for Blanche A. Stout, 85, Andover, took place Nov. 6 at Coon Rapids Evangelical Free Church. Rev. David H. Oldham officiated.
Stout died Nov. 4, 2002 at her home. She was born Oct. 9, 1917 in Storden to Sophus and Clara Nelson. She was a retired inspector for Cornelius Comp-any.
She is survived by her husband. Norman; children, Michael Nutter, Kathleen (Bernard) Condon, Keith (Vickie) Nutter, David (SueAnn) Nutter, Dennis (Linda) Nutter; stepchildren, Clifford (Patricia) Nutter, and DonnaMae (Elwood) Claus; 10 grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Irwin (Yvonne), Milton (Joanne) and Omar (Sandy) Nelson; and sisters, Sylvia Olson and Marilyn Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Kowalczyk and Lawrence Nutter; stepchildren, Richard Nutter and Phyllis Nutter Carlson; and brothers, Vern and Wendell Nelson.
Pallbearers were John, Larry, David, Don and Brian Nutter, and Robert and Jarred Condon. Honorary pallbearers were Steven Christenson, Larry Shaffranski, and Rod, Terry and Thomas Nutter.
Interment was at West Oak Grove cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Sherry Tamblyn
Funeral services for Sherry Rochelle Tamblyn, 37, Anoka, took place Nov. 10 at 7th Day Adventist Church, Andover. Rev. Dave Kobliska officiated.
Tamblyn died Nov. 6, 2002 at her residence. She was born March 21, 1965 in St. Paul to Duane Brown and Gladisann Kunshier.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Gladisann and Edward Wood; siblings, Kevin (Mariana) Brown, Gale (Mike) Husom; half-sister, Arlene (Mike) Tourville; partner, Randy Wesloh; many nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Duane Brown.
Interment was at Twitchell cemetery, Lino Lakes. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.
Adeline Zroka
Funeral services for Adeline A. Zroka, 78, formerly of New Brighton and Spring Lake Park, took place Nov. 13 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church.
Zroka died Nov. 10, 2002 at Augustana Care Center. She was born Nov. 9, 1924 in Ida Township to George Brede and Minnie Zastrow.
She is survived by her sons, Jim and Jerry; daughter, Barbara Andrews; grandchildren, Teressa, Adam, Lisa, Ryan, Asha, Christian and Kimberly; great-grandsons, Alex and Andy; additional family, Donna Zroka and Joe Zroka; and family and friends.
Pallbearers were Adam and Teressa Zroka, Ryan Fischer, and Barbara Andrews.
Interment was at Kinkhead cemetery, Alexandria. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Blaine Chapel.
Heidi Albrecht
Funeral services for Heidi Ann Albrecht, 52, St. Francis took place Nov. 14 at Family of Christ Lutheran Church. Rev. Greg Coop officiated.
Albrecht died Nov. 9, 2002. She was born March 20, 1950.
She is survived by her companion, Jim Triechel; daughter, Laurie (Anton) Jones; mother, Freidel (William Hammes 'Dad'); father, Edgar; stepmother, Sylvia Matson and their children, Mark Matson and Sharon Borden; sisters, Janna (Dan) Hatch and their children Dan, Jesse, Tianna, and Jane (Curt) Hammes/Johnson and their son Jaden; and other extended family members.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Robert Anderson
Funeral services for Robert A. (Andy) Anderson, 71, Champlin, took place Nov. 18 at Champlin United Methodist Church. Rev. Judy Myers officiated.
Anderson died Nov. 14, 2002 at Bethesda Rehabilitation Hospital, St. Paul. He was born Dec. 13, 1930 in Minneapolis to Allen R. Anderson and Renee M. Quamme and was a mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Linda (Randy) Thibault, Pamela Anderson, Danny (Peggy); and grandchildren, Mindy, Anne and Kristi.
Pallbearers were Tom Payne, Ted Ready, Roger Spano, Howard Mohn, Butch Hadjer and Don Oxborough.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Eric Applen
Funeral services for Eric N. Applen, 17, Champlin, took place Nov. 15 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Michael Van Sloun officiated.
Applen died Nov. 12, 2002 at his home from bone cancer. He was born July 26, 1985 in Coon Rapids to Mark and Jan Applen and was a senior at Champlin Park High School.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Jan Applen; sisters, Megan and Jackie Applen; grandparents, Bob and Irene Nicolin; and many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Barb and Eugene Applen.
Pallbearers were Tom Streitz, Dan Lang, Andrew Nicolin, Joe Doherty, Patrick Romane, Kurt Haring, Steve Mengelkoch and Craig Kleeberger.
Interment was at Champlin cemetery, Champlin. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
