Bernard Blackburn
Bernard P. Blackburn, 80, of Mondovi, Wis., formerly of Anoka, died Nov. 9, 2002 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 27, 1922 in Cresco, Iowa, to Patrick and Regina Blackburn and was a U.S. Marine veteran serving in the South Pacific. He owned and operated the Blackburn-Horejs Funeral Home in Anoka for many years before becoming a counselor for the chemically dependent and their families and moving to Eau Claire, Wis., in 1970.
He is survived by his wife, Randee; first wife, Georgya; children, Susan, Sean, Steven, Sarah, Samuel, Sandra, Scott, Seth and Stanford; 12 grandchildren; two-great-grandchildren; brother, John; six nieces; four grand-nephews; and four great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Lowell and Gerald.
Arrangements were by the Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and Prock Funeral Home.
Jack Blue
Jack G. Blue, 36, Grand Rapids, died Nov. 5, 2002 at home following a two-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He was born April 16, 1966 in Anoka to Russ and Edith Blue.
He is survived by his wife, Katrina; sons, Ben and Jon; parents, Russ and Edith Blue of Lake Mary, Fla.; brothers, Don (Renee) Blue of Anoka, Dan (Lisa) Blue of Elgin, Ill., and Allan (Joleen) Blue of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Amanda Blue of Apple Valley, Sue (Dan) Rundell of Lakeville, and Kate (Scott) Rundell of Barnesville; four nieces; seven nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins; and grandmother, Bernadette Blue.
Delores Christie
Funeral services for Delores E. Christie, 75, McGregor, formerly of Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 18 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated.
Christie died Nov. 13, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1927 in Minneapolis to Harry Manly and Martha LaMont.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Joann; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Douglas, Fawver and Marge and Mike Schultz; grandchildren, Jason, Rachel, Tony (Shannon), Martin (Mandee), Adam, Travis and Christie; great-grandchildren, Cole and Sydney; and special friends, Norm Washam and Julie Feigum.
She was cremated. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Matthew Crider
Funeral services for Matthew J. Crider, 23, Ramsey, took place Nov. 19 at Anoka United Methodist Church. Rev. Kenneth A. Rice officiated.
Crider died Nov. 14, 2002 in Anoka in a car accident. He was born July 21, 1979 in Cloquet to Roland J. Crider and Paula R. Setterlund and worked in the construction industry.
He is survived by his mother, Paula (Thomas) McColley; father, Roland Crider; daughter, Samantha; brothers, Christopher and Wade; sister, Andrea; niece, Stephanie; and many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Christopher Crider, Jesse and Luke Hamilton, Jesse Dahlheimer, Shane Perttula, Billy Jack Olson, Ryan Lanning, and Mike Rolfe.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
George Huebner
Funeral services for George L. Huebner, 62, Andover, took place Nov. 19 at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, Andover. Rev. Greg Coop officiated.
Huebner died Nov. 15, 2002 at his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1940 in Staples. He was an estimating engineer and a charter member of Family of Christ Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie (nee Spencer; children, Jason (Becky), Tracy (Libby) and Eric (Lynn); grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua, Quinn, Anna, Reid and Grace; brothers, Larry (Dorothy), Fred (Karen); sisters, Delores Larson, June Loftis and Bev Swenson (George); and many other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Irma; sisters, Arlene Robbin and Marge Carlson; and brother, Warren.
Pallbearers were Jason, Tracy, Eric, Joseph, Joshua and Quinn Huebner. Honorary pallbearers were Anna and Reid Huebner.
Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Agnes Melin
Funeral services for Agnes Melin, 100, Coon Rapids, formerly of Ogema, took place Oct. 30 at Lund Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. Rev. John Lee officiated.
Melin died Oct. 26, 2002 at Park River Estates Care Center, Coon Rapids. She was born Sept. 3, 1902 in Motala, Sweden, to August and Selma Karlsson. She came to the United States with her parents in 1919.
She is survived by her son, Edwin (Marvel) Melin and their children Jeff (Peggi) of Coon Rapids, Ron (Shari) of Anoka, Don (Leah) of East Bethel, and Debbie (Dan) Jaakola of Spring Lake Park; three stepsons; two stepdaughters; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents; five brothers; two sisters; and a grandson.
Pallbearers were Jeffrey, Ronald, Donald, Rodney, Bruce and Danial Melin.
Interment was at Lund Lutheran Church cemetery. Arrangements were by West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes.
Deborah Molitor
Funeral services for Deborah L. Molitor, 48, Cedar, took place Nov. 15 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated.
Molitor died Nov. 12, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. She was born to Richard Dargis and Bonnie Trail and was a para legal.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce; sons, Ryan (Kerri), Chris and Eric; mother, Bonnie Coffin; mother-in-law, Kathleen Molitor; brothers, Russ (Julie) and Gary Dargis; sister, Cheri (Wally) Orsund; and many nieces and nephews.
Interment was at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
JoAnne Moyer
Funeral services for JoAnne Moyer, 59, Ramsey, took place Nov. 19 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Timothy G. Johnson officiated.
Moyer died Nov. 15, 2002 at North Residential Hospice, Brooklyn Center. She was born Jan. 24, 1943 in Mankato to Lowell A, . and Irene R. (Possin) May and was a supervisor at Nortronics.
She is survived by her sons, Glenn Olson and wife Penny, Tim Moyer, Corey Moyer and wife Karen; grandchildren, Heather and Katie Olson, Spencer and Shlyo Moyer; Jeannette Olson; mother, Irene May; father, Lowell May; brother, Donald May and wife marie; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Curt Olson; and husband, Ron Olson.
Interment was private at Vernon cemetery, Elk River. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Leon Poliachik
Funeral services for Leon D. Poliachik, 54, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 19 at Christ Lutheran Church, Blaine. Rev. Duane Sulness officiated.
Poliachik died Nov. 14, 2002 at his home. He was born Oct. 22, 1948 in St. Paul and was national sales manager.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Michelle (Matt), Todd (Shelly), Cori (Mike), Carolyn (Taite); five grandchildren; mother, Bernadette; sisters, Rose (Bob); brother, Paul (Jeanne); eight nieces; eight nephews; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew; and brother, David.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Yvonne Schwarz
Funeral services for Yvonne F. Schwarz, 70, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 2 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Anoka.
Schwarz died Oct. 29, 2002.
She is survived by her husband, LuVerne 'Vern' daughters, Linda (Al) Sterling and Julie (Kevin) Stevens; sons, Scott (Brenda) and Timothy (Cheryl); grandchildren, Nicholas, Michele, Chelsea, Amber, Ryan and Kyle, Ben and Eric; sister, Shirley (Jerry) Hintzman; and other family members and friends.

Jessie Sjolund
Funeral services for Jessie J. Sjolund, 98, Anoka, took place Nov. 21 at Elim Baptist Church, Anoka. Revs. Robert E. Brunko and Orison Johnson officiated.
Sjolund died Nov. 18, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1904 in Jesse Lake to Lars O. and Julie K. (Lind) Sjolund and was a retired assembler at Federal Cartridge in Anoka.
She is survived by her sisters, Sigrid Anderson, Ellen Hagen and Ruth Lineburg; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred Johnson and Lillian Gilbert; and brothers, Walter and Elmer Sjolund.
Pallbearers were Lee Carlson, Wallace Medin, Robert Freiermuth, Ron Danielson, Ron Bloem and Robert Howard.
Interment was at Forest Hill Center, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
