Ruth Stoeckel

Funeral services for Ruth H. Stoeckel, 79, Champlin, took place Nov. 21 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated.

Stoeckel died Nov. 17, 2002 at Wellstead of Rogers Home. She was born Nov. 10, 1923 in Minneapolis to Harry A. and Bertha W. (Daudt) Taber.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Pixie) Stoeckel of Andover, Dick Stoeckel of Mounds View; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; brothers, Wesley (Goldie) Taber of Anoka and Harry (Susan) Taber of Coon Rapids; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harry and Betha Taber; and daughter-in-law, Pat Stoeckel.

Pallbearers were Rick, Chuck, Jim and Tim Stoeckel, Jody Thomas and Kathy Bakke.

Interment was at Zion cemetery, Crown. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Lylis Tschida

Funeral services for Lylis Kay Tschida, 57, Ham Lake, took place Nov. 16 at Lakewood Chapel, Minneapolis. Rev. Roger Franzen officiated.

Tschida died Nov. 12, 2002 in Robbinsdale. She was born May 12, 1945 in Grand Forks, N.D., and was employed in sales at Sigstead Carpet, Ham Lake.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicky (Michael) Mertz of Chicago, Ill.; sons, Sean Hagel of Ham Lake, Garrett Hagel of San Diego, Calif.; brother, Marvin Buurman of San Diego; and special friend, Robert Tschida of Robbinsdale.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Contemporary Cremation Society.

Ellen Westlund

Funeral services for Ellen M. Westlund, 87, Anoka, took place Nov. 16 at Elim Baptist Church, Anoka. Revs. Robert E. Brunko and Orison Johnson officiated.

Westlund died Nov. 12, 2002 in Coon Rapids. She was born Feb. 17, 1915 in Quamba to Erik and Martha (Lidstrom) Edlund and was a retired psychiatric nurse technician at the Anoka State Hospital.

She is survived by her children, Joyce Prior, Virgil (Jan), Donald (Ruth) and Wayne; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Florence Swanson and Grace (Sydney) Larson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher; son, Glenn; two brothers; and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Ken, Duane, John and Don Prior, and David and Doug Westlund.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

George Anderson

Funeral services for George E. Anderson, 91, Minneapolis, will take place Tuesday, Dec. 3, 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Liane Rock will officiate.

Anderson died Nov. 23, 2002 at Fair Oaks Home, Wadena. He was born Oct. 6, 1911 in Burns Township to August and Hilma (Carlson) Anderson. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army and retired from the Twin Cities Ford plant.

He is survived by his sons, Douglas and wife Marilyn of Apple Valley, Gary and wife Judy of Nisswa; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Victor Anderson and wife Doris of Texas; sister, Ethel Westlund and husband Art of California; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian.

Interment will be at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Lois Cornell

Funeral services for Lois Jeanne Cornell, 76, Bethel, took place Nov. 26 at Strike Funeral Home-Isanti Chapel. Rev. Jim McChesney officiated.

Cornell died Nov. 22, 2002 at Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge. She was born May 2, 1926 in Minneapolis to Herbert and Lora Trickey. She was an Avon representative for 25 years and involved in state and national bowling organizations.

She is survived by her sons, James Cornell and wife Darlene of Braham and Mark Hunter of Bethel; daughters, Linda Weinhold of St. Paul, Debbie Ford and husband LeRoy of Bethel; stepdaughter, Patricia Jackson and husband Pete of Minneapolis; sister, Bette Hunter of Staples; sister-in-law, Lorraine Trickey of Golden Valley; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives d friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Lora Trickey; husband, Sylvester; granddaughter, Nancy Weinhold; brothers, Edgar, Bob, Norris and Owen; and sister, Pearl.

Pallbearers were Ken, Lora and Mike Hermanson, Jennifer and Jody Prunick, Mark Riley and Luke and Tom Weinhold.

Interment was at Old Bethel cemetery. Arrangements were by Strike Funeral Home-Isanti Chapel.

Russell Dunlop

Memorial services for Russell S. Dunlop, 83, Oak Grove, will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at St. Francis United Methodist Church. There will be a visitation at the church today (Friday, Nov. 29), 7 to 9 p.m.

Dunlop died at home in Oak Grove Sept. 17, 2002. He was a retired minister, Heifer Project area representative, Volunteers of America post manager, postal carrier, and farmer.

Arrangements are by Twin Cities Cremation and Burial.

Stanley Galuszewski

Funeral services for Dr. Stanley Joseph Galuszewski, 84, Minneapolis, formerly of Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 25 at Risen Savior Catholic Church, Burnsville. Revs. Bernard Reiser and James Gorman officiated.

Galuszewski died Nov. 20, 2002 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis. He was born Feb. 25, 1918 in Minneapolis and was a self-employed dentist in Anoka for many years.

He is survived by his son, Stanley; daughter, Mary (Mark) Aronson; grandson, Mark (Amie) and his mother Pauline; and great-granddaughter, Zofia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes.

Interment was private at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by White Funeral Home, Apple Valley.

Selma Johnson

Funeral services for Selma H. Johnson, 100, Anoka, took place Nov. 22 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Bruce Talso officiated.

Johnson died Nov. 18, 2002 at Anoka Care Center. She was born May 25, 1902 in Stockholm, S.D., to Jens Nordquist and Karen I. Beckstrom. She was a retired food packager.

She is survived by three nieces; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch E. Johnson.

Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Joseph Misslin

Funeral services for Joseph A. Misslin, 79, Anoka, took place Nov. 20 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Bill Deziel officiated.

Misslin died Nov. 15, 2002 at Anoka Care Center. He was born May 10, 1923 in Outlook, Mont., to Andrew Misslin and Elizabeth Martin. He was a dairy cattle farmer in Anoka from 1941 until he retired in 1995.

He is survived by his sister, Isabel Misslin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Elizabeth; sister, Marie; and brother, Andrew.

Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.

Cody and Shawn Ostendorf

Funeral services for Cody J. Ostendorf, 6, and Shawn R. Ostendorf, 5, Burns Township, took place Nov. 23 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated.

The boys died Nov. 19, 2002 at North Memorial Hospital. Cody was born March 19, 1996 and Shawn May 5, 1997, both in Robbinsdale, to Ronald J. Ostendorf and Marie E. Muellner.

They are survived by their parents, Ronald and Marie Ostendorf; brothers, Cole and Mark; grandparents, Millie Muellner, Ronald and Carol, Ostendorf; great-grandmother, Isabelle Ostendorf; aunts and uncles, Catherine (John) Keller, Michael (Wanda) Hoppe, Kelly Muellner, Lisa (Rodney) Cornett, Kevin (Lois) Muellner, Dawn (Sherwin) Tschida, Renee (Michael) Sunder, Chris (Kim) Ostendorf; 16 cousins; and other family members and friends.

They were preceded in death by their grandfather, Bernard Muellner; and great-grandparents.

Pallbearers for Cody Ostendorf were Kelly Muellner, Monty Nelson, Michael Hoppe and Sherwin Tschida. Pallbearers for Shawn Ostendorf were Shawn Ostendorf were Christopher Ostendorf, Michael Sunder, John Keller and Kevin Muellner.

Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel.

Adam Schwandt

Funeral services for Adam D. Schwandt, 26, Anoka, took place Nov. 25 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated.

Schwandt died Nov. 20, 2002 at his home. He was born Feb. 7, 1976 in Coon Rapids to Douglas H. Schwandt and Debra R. Maki and was a self-employed electrician.

He is survived by his father, Douglas (Pam) Schwandt; mother, Debbie Maki; brothers, Alex, Philip, and Dylan; grandmother, Diane Maki; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard Maki, Harvey and Elaine Schwandt.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
