Gloria Hoffman
Funeral services for Gloria I. Sturges Hoffman, 46, Anoka, took place Jan. 8 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Kari Bahe officiated.
Sturges Hoffman died in an automobile accident on Highway 10, Coon Rapids, Jan. 4, 2003. She was born Sept. 28, 1956 in Minneapolis to Dewey E. and Ruth (Shirley) Cowell.
She is survived by her boyfriend, Joel Dusing; children, Danielle Cowell, Travis Sturges and Marissa Mullen; grandchildren, Hannah Sturges, Zacory Cowell, Jason Mullen, Britney Lambres and Christian Sturges; sister, D. Sterling Cowell; brother, Robert Cowell; half-sister, Theresa Cowell; stepsisters, Schroeder families; father, Carlton Neumann; and nieces and nephews, Joseph Cowell, Randi Cowell, Russell Cowell and Skye Hmielewski.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and R. Shirley Cowell.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Leona Hubley
Funeral services for Leona E. Hubley, 86, Coon Rapids, took place Jan 2. at Faith Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. James Donald officiated.
Hubley died Dec. 30, 2002 in Coon Rapids. She was born May 9, 1916 in Minneapolis to William H. Dallman and Anna Anderson. She was a retired secretary in education.
She is survived by her children, Gail (James) Quittum, Gary (Judy) Hubley, Roger (Sigrid) Hubley, and Kathleen Christensen; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Dianne, Teresa, Karen, Delora, Amy, Leigh, Matthew; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd A.; and granddaughter, Cara Hubley Braddy.
Interment was at Crystal Lake cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Gregory Larson
Funeral services for Gregory P. Larson, 53, East Bethel, took place Jan. 4 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Joel Cycenas officiated.
Larson died Dec. 13, 2002. He was born Nov. 14, 1949 in Washburn, Wis., served in the U.S. Navy, and was employed in sales.
He is survived by his wife, Patty and her son Chris; son, Ryan (Pam); daughter, Laura; mother, Joyce; brothers, Larry (Marge), Dan (Sally), Mark (Kathy); father-in-law, Marlin McQuiston; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard; and sister, Karen.
Interment was in Cumberland, Wis., Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Donna Moon
Funeral services for Donna M. Moon, 65, New Hope, took place Dec. 17 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated.
Moon died Dec. 13, 2002 in New Hope. She was born Oct. 10, 1937 in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, to Jay Maxine and Josephine Witlow and was a dental receptionist.
She is survived by her son, Tim (Brenda); daughter, Carla; grandchildren, Chelesa, Jessica, Abby, Josh and Ashley; brothers, Jerry and John (Susan) Scott; sisters, Kay Cunningham and Jan Barber; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl.
Interment was at St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Margaret Nash
Funeral services for Margaret M. Nash, 88, Anoka, took place Jan. 8 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Liane Rock officiated.
Nash died Jan. 4, 2003 at Park River Estates Care Center, Coon Rapids. She was born June 14, 1914 in Nowthen to Louis and Sorina (Petersen) Larsen and was retired executive secretary for Federal Cartridge. She was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy 'Waves.'
She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Lois) Nash of Burns Township, Les (Tanina) Nash of Idaho, David (Linda) Nash of Big Lake; daughter, Lana (Lee) Thompson of Ramsey; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, Louis and Sorina Larsen; brother, Leo Larsen; and sister, Kay Schlais.
Pallbearers were Deron Roberts, Derek and Adam Nash, Lee Thompson and Don Schlais.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Cecelia Olson
Funeral services for Cecelia Eugenie Olson, 88, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 23 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Olson died Dec. 19, 2002 in Anoka. She was born Jan. 2, 1914 in Arlington to Thomas O'Brien and Eugenie Giasson and was retired restaurant business owner.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Bob) Hosford, Nancy (Tom) Hill, Peter (Gladys) Olson, Donald (Mary) Olson; grandchildren, Kristi, Roberta, Donald, Nick, Dan, Josh, Jessi, Heather, Sarah, Thomas; great-grandchildren, Zach and Brady; special niece and nephew, Tom (Deni) O'Brien and Judith Anne O'Brien; and sister, Monica Bayle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; and son, Robert.
Interment was at Acacia Park, Mendota Heights. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Amelia Stende
Funeral services for Amelia M. Stende, 99, Coon Rapids, took place Dec. 31 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Patrick Kennedy officiated.
Stende died Dec. 23, 2002 in Coon Rapids. She was born Nov. 30, 1903 in Dunseith, N.D., to George and Margarite Courteau, and was a retired teacher.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwen (Rick) Reiter; son, Greg (Janet) Stende; granddaughters, Carey and Molly; grandson, Kurt; great-granddaughters, Ashley and Ava; brother, Orel, sister, Antionette; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben; brothers, Lee, George, Amie and Darwin; and sisters, Lillian and Ethel.
Pallbearers were Kurt Stende, Duane and Bruce Courteau, and Paul Peterson.
Interment was at St. Edward's cemetery, Princeton. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Ronald Trebus
Funeral services for Ronald Robert Trebus, 60, Blaine, took place Dec. 27 at Kingdom Hall, Andover.
Trebus died Dec. 22, 2002 at his home. He was born May 9, 1942 in River Falls, Wis. to Clarence Trebus and Delores Johnson, and was machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Roxanne; children, Carolyn (Christopher) Havenhill, Christine (Johnnie) Trebus, Matthew Trebus; grandchildren, Eric and Kelsey Rae Trebus; mother, Delores; three brothers; two sisters; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence.
Trebus was cremated. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Carol Wells
Funeral services for Carol M. Wells, 58, Anoka, took place Dec. 30 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Patrick Kennedy officiated.
Wells died Dec. 27, 2002 in Coon Rapids. She was born March 2, 1944 in Anoka.
She is survived by her sons, Dave (Heidi), Don (Tammy), Mike (Heidi); grandchildren, Josh, Sarah, Maddie and Joey; sister, Sally Dahlin (Dennis), Paula Dargis (Ron); brother, Bill Talbot (Toni); and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Josephine Taylor; and brother, Steven.
Pallbearers were Justin, Paul and Rick Talbot, Brian Dargis, Tom Wyman, Jeff Karnitz, Bobby Brown and Matt Wilberg.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
Donna Carver
Funeral services for Donna C. Carver, 67, Andover, took place Jan. 6 at Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Kari Bahe officiated.
Carver died Jan. 2, 2003 at her home. She was born Nov. 25, 1935 in Minneapolis.
She is survived by her husband, John; children, Kelly (Scott) Scherer, Karin (Jeff) Regan, Jason (Judy); grandchildren, Nathaniel, Olivia, Benjamin, Sara, Samuel, Elizabeth; brothers, Charles (Barbara) Backman, Howard (Kay) Backman; and sisters, Ruth Carlson, and Greta Jondheim.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Gloria.
Pallbearers were Scott Scherer, Jeff Regan, David Jondheim, Randy and Scott Backman, and Jon Carlson.
