Ellen Casper
Funeral services for Ellen J. Casper, 79, East Bethel, took place Jan. 9 at Cedar United Methodist Church. Rev. Kristen Bargeron Grant officiated.
Casper died Jan. 5, 2003 at her home. She was born April 5, 1923 in Bethel to George and Nellie Sylvester. She was a retired nurses aide at Cambridge Health Care Center.
She is survived by her sons, Ron Casper and wife Pat of Andover, Chuck Casper and wife Deanna of Azel, Texas, Jerry Capser and wife Julie of East Bethel, Jeff Casper and wife Karen of Big Lake; daughter, Karen Lehn and husband Terry of Anoka; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nellie; husband, Floyd; and brothers, Charles, Glen, Leo, Clyde and Harold.
Pallbearers were Josh, Joel, Brent, Megan, Brandon and Jamie Casper.
Arrangements were by Strike Funeral Home, Isanti Chapel.
David Emmans
Funeral services for David E. Emmans, 62, Anoka, took place Jan. 11 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Brenda Kramer King officiated.
Emmans died Jan. 7, 2003 at Unity Hospital. He was born April 25, 1940 in Anoka to Leonard E. Emmans and Dorothy A. Peterson. He was retired after 30-plus years as a Burlington-Northern Santa Fe Railroad carman.
He is survived by his son, Brian (Nancy); grandchildren, Joe, Jessica, Kyle and Katelyn; sisters, Betty Durant and Diane (Dan) Olson; and special friend, Ann Haedtke.
Pallbearers were Dan, Dean, Duane and Ray Olson, Joe Stromberg and Tom Murphy.
Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery. Arrangements were Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
Harold Johnson
Funeral services for Harold 'Bud' T. Johnson, 76, Spring Lake Park, took place Jan. 13 at Emmanuel Christian Center. Rev. Steve Finton officiated.
Johnson died Jan. 10, 2003 at his home. He was born Jan. 8, 1927 in Kanaua, Iowa, to Lawrence Johnson and Ethel Hann. He was a retired landscaper for Anoka County Parks Department, volunteer driver for Anoka County, a volunteer at the humane society, and a Word War II veteran serving as a Navy armed guard in the South Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion VFW, and a chaplain of Kraus-Hartig seniors.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughters, Karen and husband Jimmy Schlageter, Beverly and husband Joel Goodwin; sister, Gertrude Wright; grandchildren, William (Billy), Karline and husband Dan, Terri and husband Mike; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jennifer, Dylan and Christopher.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister.
Pallbearers were Zach McNiel, Mike Burgher, Ry Dawson, Josh Bedard, Dustin Carlson and Jason Sweet.
Interment was at Glenwood cemetery, Goldfield, Iowa. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Blaine Chapel.
Gene Kendrick
Funeral services for Gene Kendrick, 66, Coon Rapids, took place Jan. 4 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Richard Lindeman officiated.
Kendrick died Dec. 31, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 6, 1936 in Minneapolis, and worked for Opus Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; children, Debbie (Doug) Morris, Kelly (Duane) Hildenbrand. Kristy Moore; granddaughter Neesha; mother, Julia Peterson; sisters, Patti Majeske (Lyle), Betty Lou (Boyd) Emerson; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene; daughter, Vickie; and grandchildren, Danielle and Dustin.
Pallbearers were Tom, Steve and David Schultz, Randy Wagner, Brad Schiell and Greg Novotny.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Leonard Lewis
Funeral services for Leonard Lewis, 66, Ramsey, took place Jan. 11 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Kari Bahe officiated.
Lewis died Jan. 5, 2003 in Ramsey. He was born Oct. 25, 1936 in Monitou to Alton Lewis and Mary Wheelock and was a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Allen (Charlotte) and Donald (Jodi); daughter, Bonnie (Dave) Schaub; grandson, Jeremy; granddaughters, Katie and Andrea; mother, Mary Lewis; brother, Ralph (Lois) Lewis; and sisters, Lucille (Kirmit) Qually and Irene (Harlan) Leddige.
Pallbearers were Allen and Don Lewis, Dave Schaub, Todd Zager, Larry Gibson and Jake Weigle.
Interment was at Fairview cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart.
Clara Linz
Funeral services for Clara Theresa Linz, 67, Bethel, took place Jan. 11 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Isanti. Revs. Jose Edayadiyil and Richard McGuire officiated.
Linz died Jan. 9, 2003 at her home. She was born Oct 24, 1935 in St. Paul to Bernard and Clara Keis.
She is survived by her husband, Vern of Bethel; children, Bruce and wife Wendy Linz of Bartlett, Tenn., Rita and husband Jack Mendenhall of Maple Grove, Ann and husband Scott Olson of Mahtomedi; grandchildren, Rachel, Clara, Ann, Heidi, Kate, Rita, Sam and Matt; great-granddaughter, Audrey; three brothers; four sisters; and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Dan, Patrick and Tom Keis, Adam and Matt Linz, and Rick Racine.

Donald Lisle
Funeral services for Donald H. Lisle, 76, Anoka, took place Jan. 11 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Dennis Heiden officiated.
Lisle died Jan. 7, 2003 at his home. He was born Aug. 27, 1926 in Dawson, Iowa, to Frank I. and Bernice (McClatchey) Lisle. He was retired from quality assurance at Federal Cartridge.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Marsha Overby, Dawn Rollings and husband Scott, Lorilee Fritz; grandchildren, Andrea, Matthew, Riley, Dillon, Aaron, Margo; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Nicodemas, Devyn; sister, Betty Sienkiewicz; and many other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his son, Terrill.
Pallbearers were Scott, Daniel and Aaron Rollings, Dillon and Riley McArdle, Matthew Fideldy, and Christopher and Zachary Rouse.

Allene McBride
Funeral services for Allene D. McBride, 82, Ramsey, took place Jan. 9 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Adrian Piotrowski officiated.
McBride died Jan. 6, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Feb. 28, 1920 in Erie, Pa., to Albert B. Miller and Dorothy J. Calvin and was a retired secretary with an auto parts store.
She is survived by her husband, John; son, Robert (Stephanie); daughters, Judy Mack, Christine (Stephen) Seblink; grandchildren, Joy, Mike, Jeff, Jennifer and Jacob McBride, Debra (Matt) Diehl, Bradley Mack, Tammy Seblink. Stephanie Schoettker; and brother, Robert Miller.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Patty and Lois; and brothers, Norman and Skip.
Interment was at Calvary cemetery. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Charles Mejia
Funeral services for Charles E. Mejia, 84, St. Francis, took place Jan. 13 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Melander officiated.
Mejia died Jan. 9, 2003 at Crystal Lake Nursing Home, Robbinsdale. He was born May 26, 1918 in Guadalajara, Mexico, to Edward Borquez and Ramona Echeverria, and was a retired crane operator and World War II veteran.
He is survived by his children, Charles Jr. (Esther), Victoria (Larry) Bronson, Richard (Candy), Mary (Tom) Ahern, Maggie (Tom) Bartelt, and Alex; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; and wife.
Pallbearers were Danny Ojida Jr., Paul Perez Jr., Robert Lohse, and Andrew, Thomas, Nicholas and Richard Jr. Mejia.

Theresa Mills

Mills died Jan. 7, 2003 at her home. She was born March 4, 1954 in Minneapolis to Joseph J. Klonze and Mary D. Gabryck.
She is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Nicole, Angela, Danielle; stepdaughter, Heather; sisters, Rose Hollis, Jo (Lawrence) Kuester; sister-in-law, Judith Coffman; one niece; five nephews; aunts and uncles; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jim.
